The spike in deodorant sales in Brentwood is due, at least in part, to the smell of some of it’s residents who have been attempting to steal VA Hospital land for there own personal aggrandizement while increasing nearby property values.
For 20 years, Sue Young has been the lead dog of the pack that’s been hot on the trail of VA land. The land that was donated by three families in 1888 to be used specifically for Veterans.
The old name of the pack was the, “Brentwood Home Owners Association”, the new name, which comes with smoke and mirrors, in order to reflect alignment with the VA is, “The Veterans Park Conversancy.”
With the past two Westwood VA Medical Center Directors, Chuck Dorman, and Phil Thomas, who were both replaced by the VA Secretary for theft, which is called misappropriation, when you’re a federal employee and the amount you steal exceeds $100K, the dog team was able to steal 16 acres on the VA grounds in a lease deal for no cash payment, at least no cash that was in sight.
This deal was made during the roughly 10 years of the past two Medical Center Directors, Chuck Dorman and Phil Thomas, that stole from veterans, and were simply and quietly transferred to another position within the VA Medical Center system.
Now THAT, is really a deterrent to anyone else thinking of misappropriating VA funds.
It’s like in May of ’08 when Norma J. Perez, a supervisor at a Texas VA Hospital told her therapists to classify PTSD as an adjustment disorder rather than Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in order to save the VA money by not having to pay service related benefits to deserving and entitled Veterans.
Unlike Elvis, she has never left the VA Building.

What is the solution to this theft of our hero’s land and asets? The second part of this crime is that 16 acres of some of the most expensive real estate in our country seems to have been stolen “legally”.
What should be done?
This is NOTHING NEW!
The feds have all the power. It started back in the 80s. Now we have an out of control federal government – all powerful.
We the people need to leave, take it up the oppressive ass, or revolt!
1. Do nothing and you don’t even get a jar of Vaseline. Bend over Mr. Sheep!
2. Leave and you’ll miss the rockets red glare …..albeit drinking Tequila with some Señorita named Lupita!
3. REVOLT and you will get body slammed by a red coat with a badge and an axe to grind who calls you a traitor to the king…..dam you so-called patriots!

The shame of the Veteran Administration is that the one in charge of protecting the gift of land to the Veterans is their disloyalty !! The sacrifice of our veterans bloods for the country is spilled on the grounds at the Medical Center as if it was stale coffee. So much for the honor of service to the country. Those responsible for safe guarding the gift of land should be prosecuted for negligence and squandering of goverment property. And those of the Brentwood Association should be named and and published as person against Veterans medical treatment facility.
Shame on all of them for their selfish devotion to their own self interest !
Mr. Culmer’s comments reflect and confirm the deep rooted feelings of Veterans who have felt, for years, that something terribly wrong at the “HOME” was afoot. “Land-grab” reports have been a regular presentation at the monthly general membership meetings for, at least, 15 years. Where the words of these reports, early on, fell on deaf ears, due, in part, to the complex picture that bureaucrats have created. Instead of seeking Veteran input on issues that only serve to violate the terms, conditions, spirit and intent of the 1888 Grant Deed of the
“HOME”, local politicians, NIMBY-minded community members and carpet-bag bureaucrats have coordinated their efforts to exclude the input and participation of men and women who can truly help. Instead, these land-grabbers hold clandestine meetings and go to great efforts to make certain that only Veteran representatives that “go along to get along” are publically presented as “good” Veterans (while labeling advocates who question authority as “bad” Veterans).
Where this comment about this violation of a “Sacred Trust”, saving the precious land necessary for the timely and quality rehabilitation of defenders of our nation, may appear to point a finger at the “Blue” party that is doing the bidding for the “Red” party, I ask you all to realize that the perpetrators of the biggest resource scandle in the history of the VA (approximately $1B of land) are all members of the real “Green” party, just follow the money.
Thank you David Culmer for speaking up with this suppressed Truth. For way too long Veterans have remained silent or been silenced by the “Westside Machine,” which makes the Chicago Machine look like little leaguers.
Make no mistake, the “sleeping giant” of fellow Veterans is awakening after this billion-dollar land heist and community invasion of Veterans sacred property for a public park. As Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto said after the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”
And so it is today, as there’s a new resolve to stop the invasion of corrupt politics of the Westside Machine that is backed by greedy homeowners who want Veterans land for their own selfish use, amusement and entertainment. Every Veteran needs to continue speaking up and stop this “Evil Machine” of money and corruption in West Los Angeles, or as Mr. Juarez rightly defines it as the unification of both political parties to form the real “Green” Party … follow the money.
Speak up! Thomas Jefferson forewarned: “To remain silent when they should protest makes cowards of men.”
I have worked with Dave Culmer for over 20 years as I have been involved with the Veterans community for over 35 years. And I can say this about Dave he is a fighter and will not let go. I have been in this fight for the Home for at least 15 to 17 years and I have delt with all the directors that the WLAVAMC has had over the years especially those mentioned in Dave’s article. I have seen first hand how this so called health care system has done to our veterans, they should be ashamed of themselves. The big plaxy glass sign at the enterance for the WLAVAMC says “To Serve Those Who Served” should be taken down and put away until this actually happens. It is a damn shame that this property that is ours can be so selfishly used and the Veterans forgotten.
