America used to have “citizen soldiers,” draftees, brought into the military to fight a war and/or man our worldwide bases that for 50 years held Russian expansionism back.  We built democracies in Europe and Asia but we also propped up vicious dictators in Central America, the Philippines, Korea, Iran, Africa, Indonesia and a dozen other places who imprisoned and murdered millions.

THOSE WHO SERVED:   ALSO VICTIMS

However, our soldiers never took part in these political abuses we claim, perhaps not without some justification, as history shows, were justified by the extreme evil of our enemy.

SOME FAMILIES UNABLE TO COPE WITH “BRAINWASHED” KIDS

I am regularly contacted by parents of children serving in the military who are showing signs of serious adjustment disorders.  I tell them that the years their children are serving, some in serious danger, are also years where their kids are being lied to and manipulated every day by evil forces.

We love throwing around the word “evil” but few know what it really means.  “Using” our troops, exploiting them is an unforgivable evil.  No “pat on the back” makes up for victimizing our troops with lies to cover the systematic criminal misconduct of a disgraced government hiding in infamy.

Stalin was evil.  The results of Communism were, in most cases, evil.  With the block on news coverage being suspended and civil rights slowly being restored and America entering a period of freedom again, we are learning that our own government, Republicans for sure but many Democrats too, joined the gang of financial crooks bleeding America dry.

ANGER AND BETRAYAL FELT BY TROOPS IN THE FIELD

Instead of celebrating a return to freedom, the end of deployments and “stop loss” many in our military are posting assassination threats on the internet, making wild and idiotic claims of “Nazi Occupation” under Obama (showing an utter misunderstanding that Nazi beliefs are conservative and pro-business) and threatening to organize armed militias to overthrow our government.

As for overthrowing our government, “been there, done that” as Bush and Cheney could easily say.

NOT A NEW PROBLEM, NOT AT ALL

As for our kids, and to older vets, those who served and died for pennies a day, under fed, no laptops, no playstations, no body armor (same worthless rifles) we only want you to have better lives than some of us had.  This is why we fought.  We fought because we loved our country, our kids and the people we served with even though many of them were total idiots.

How do I talk to you, the kids who believe in the rapture, the kids who pray for nuclear war, the kids who think all Muslims are evil?  How do I tell you that all politics in America is fraud and has been for decades?  Any sensible American, even the few that vote, all know everyone in Washington is bought and sold by someone, be it Israel, oil companies or a foreign dictator and things have been that way for decades.

TIME FOR AMERICANS AT HOME TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

We, we who fought earlier wars, let down our guard, gave up our country and let you down.

I, as do many, live in and out of the rathole of politics.  I write what I write, but my best friends are lobbyists, lawyers, oil industry people and defense industry execs.  They push me, most of them anyway, more than others.  They say they don’t know how it started and they don’t know how to stop it.

How do so many “nice” people do so many bad things?  Then I remember movies of Hitler playing with his dog while Eva Braun (a onetime “hottie) did handstands nearby.  This guy was a vegetarian, simple combat vet from World War I and loved kids and animals.  He nearly destroyed the world.

WANT TO TALK POLITICS AT HOME:  WEAR A HELMET

With some of my friends rabidly anti-Obama and some strong supporters, frankly none of them or is it “us” seem to really understand what is going on.  We all now know things went totally crazy for 8 years.  We don’t know how it is going to be fixed and some think the “fixing” may make it worse.  This is fair and American.  Worrying about America is the job of everyone here.  Disagreeing with government, something that was a crime a few months ago is now “almost” legal again.

Again, I ask, how do we admit to our children we elected total idiots to office, ok may we didn’t elect them but we didn’t say anything when they stole the elections.  We were too busy watching TV.

WE ATE SPAM AND C RATIONS:  OUR KIDS GET LIES AND PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES WITH WAR MONGERS

When these same kids were watching the Armed Forces Network or Fox News spew lie after lie while they were being “Stockholmed” by our own military, none of us were looking.  Now they are coming home, some broken from misuse, some abandoned by families and most returning to a country unable to offer them decent opportunities other than to become highly educated unemployed.

These kids are all the passion and energy we have.  The rest of our kids are either working minimum wage jobs living in our basements, in school or part of the lucky few living the good life of BMW’s and country clubs.  Our kids around here are a mix of these.

IF YOU THINK YOU ARE BEING BETRAYED NOW:  YOU MUST HAVE BEEN SLEEPING FOR YEARS

The ones who are coming home, and they will come now, although not in the numbers of other wars, certainly, will be angry and feel betrayed.  This is nothing new.  I spent yesterday talking with one of the national leaders of the American Legion.  One thing we agreed on, and I don’t often agree with the Legion, is that America is quick to forget its soldiers, even its POWs.

For years we put up the POW flags, but when we learned that Nixon and Kissinger had purposefully abandoned hundreds of POWs in Laos, we had the tapes, it was undeniable, we did and said nothing.  It was in the news for one day.  We never mentioned it to Vietnam, as they were too busy sewing tennis shoes for us and making cigarettes.

EVERY DEATH, EVERY WOUND, SPREADS LIKE RIPPLES ON A POND……..

It was only a few hundred men, a few hundred families that suffered for decades.  They are no different than the thousands of families suffering now who join the tens of thousands of families who, over the decades, have lived with that empty chair every holiday.

When a 20 year old dies, it means no grandchildren in the yard.  It means feeling the tears well up every time you walk past the family photos on the stairway.  Childrens photo albums gather dust, nothing but heartache.

Kids are coming home from war, finding their families destroyed, their jobs gone and the war they fought in being called “illegal” and the fighting they risked their lives doing called “atrocities.”  They can live on the streets.  Thousands do.  Maybe we can make each one of our returning soldiers their own “earmark” maybe a job, or more educational benefits or someone to pull their VA file out of the fire before it burns up entirely.

SURVIVING THE SHOCK

They can fight the VA, fight and lose as is so often the case, seeking care that sometimes is denied, sometimes given or help that takes months, even years to push thru in a world of disappearing paperwork and empty eyed bureaucracy.

Do we deprogram the kids or deprogram ourselves?  We caused the problems.  Blaming Bush and Cheney is a joke.  These two idiots couldn’t organize lunch, much less world conquest.

INJUSTICE:  FACE IT AND CHANGE IT OR LOSE OURSELVES

Hardly a “conquest,” we are currently ducking the Chinese who hold enough Treasury notes to be able to repossess several states.  I am considering giving them Idaho as a down payment.

News keeps coming in, day after day.  We are told we locked up people in “Gitmo” that we bought from Pakistan for $5000, having no idea who they were and kept them for years, no reason at all.

We are told that our Vice President may have ordered the murder of Americans by the CIA and military inside the United States and we will never know who and why.  We simply have to trust Dick Cheney to “do right.”  Anyone who would let Cheney take care of their pets for a weekend should expect to find them gutted and nailed to a wall, much less giving someone like that real authority.  The other bumbling moron was enough.

NO LONGER RACING BACKWARD, ARE WE GOING FORWARD AT ALL?

We are faced with the question, “Did we put the best people in office to replace the last pile of “crooks” or did we get more of the same?”

How do we tell our kids coming home from war, not the citizen soldiers of the past, but kids who have been to war a half dozen times, some combat vets, many the military is always going to be their only job, kids like this, what do we tell them?

TAKING RESPONSIBILITY, THE ENEMY WAS ALWAYS “US” (ASK THE FRENCH)

How do we admit we let things go because we were careless, fat, lazy and depressed?

How do we admit that some of us learned to believe any lie the TV told us and allowed the worst of us, phony religious leaders, crooked lawyers, thieving politicians, to flock to Washington and misuse our government to bleed the entire world dry?

How do we tell the truth to our own kids when so many of us still lie about it with every breath, choosing ignorance and hate because the truth is just too painful.

CHILDISH RHETORIC AND LIES, OUR ANSWER TO UNPLEASANT REALITY

We have tens of millions of people screaming, “Jail Bush and Cheney” with others screaming for the murder of Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi and Chris Dodd.

Even though the vast majority of Americans may recognize the basic failures of the conservative agenda and the ill fated “war on terror” there is good reason to doubt that Roosevelts solutions instrumented with limited success in 1933 will be able to overcome economic disaster today.

MENTION “MONEY” AND THE LIES BEGIN…..

Currently, our banks along with AIG and other institutions are under real Federal ownership, not just investment.  However, the Federal government may own but it has left defective management in place to continue the “black hole” financial abuses of huge bonuses and insane fiscal policies that destroyed the Bush administration that brought on the situation thru massive irresponsible deregulation.

Our kids in the military, excuse me for calling them “kids” and others among us see these facts, blended with threats, extremism and fancy and head toward losing any responsible voice they could have.

Simultaneously, our current rulers, offer us platitudes but pour money, not into “earmarks” as claimed by the idiot fringe right, but even worse, back into the same “black hole” financial institutions who destroyed the economy in the first place.

YOUR HOMECOMING SURVIVAL KIT:  SELF CONFIDENCE

With luck over the next 2 years, over 100,000 of our young people will return to civilian life after years of war or deployments.  Based on rumor, innuendo and anecdotal information, many may be prepared to add additional strife to a nation, less divided, perhaps even less stupid than before but under increasing extremist threat.

If the kids don’t get it together and pull their shamefully confused, greedy and lazy citizenry out of the political sewer the US has become, not only will they not thrive or even survive, but none of us may either.
