STOLEN PATRIOTISM: THE PHONY RESISTANCE MOVEMENT UNCLOAKED

April 6, 2009 by Gordon Duff · 64 Comments

2_01PATRIOT GROUPS UNMASKED
ACTUALLY FRONT GROUPS FOR THE "THIEVING FINANCIAL ELITISTS"

By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER

Friends, some former Ron Paul supporters are now being courted by "radicals" stressing a new revolution of working class Americans against Obama and his big business supporters.  www.resistnet.org is one of their biggest voices.  In truth, our heroic gun totin’ woodsmen are actually following Washington DC public relations firm Shirley & Bannister public affairs, a front group for the Bush family and the insurance industry.

The "tough guys" being organized into Milita units to march on Washington DC are being led by a front group funded by Westinghouse Corporation, Prudential Insurance, AETNA Insurance, the DuPont family, the Forbes family, McDonald Douglas, nuclear power plant builders and about a hundred groups made up of Washington lawyers and lobbyists.

What an embarassment.  Organizing all of this "libertarian protest" is the biggest client of all, The Republican National Committee.  The secret is out, you’ve been had, duped, snookered and suckered.

The group warning us about the New World Order is actually being led by the people they are supposed to be against.

It seems the Republican Party, after having been abandoned by the Christian Coalition, thought it could go after the Ron Paul supporters by pretending to be "just plain folks."  Yup, the Forbes and DuPont familiies, Westinghouse, Prudential, Aetna and McDonald Douglass along with thousands of lawyers working for every crooked industry and phony front group in America, all suddenly "libertarians" supporting "the little guy" against big government and the rich.

This was the "dirty tricks" front group Karl Rove used during the campaigns, the ones that pumped out all thsoe stories we later learned were lies.

Now they are out in the woods, no longer behind the wheel of that Lexus.  It’s all blue jeans and assault rifles for what used to be the Washington DC bloodsucking elite.

Perhaps, when it comes time to march on Washington, you might want to look around and see how many Bush or DuPond faces you see.

Client list below…the backers of "the people’s revolution:"

If you are a veteran or honest working American, look at this as the "need not apply" list also.

The list above, our patriotic resistance movement is also interchangable as a list of "Who’s Who: American Scumbags"

  1. Tom Barnes says:

This is always the case with resistance movements of any kind.  The bright, elitist malcontents who was shoved aside by the powers that be get angry and bite the hand that used to feed them.  It was the same with the birth of the resistance movements, of which there were many, in Ireland.  The Mensheviks in Russia were of this type.  The Bull Moose Party types were of this ilk under Teddy Roosevelt.  There are hundreds of examples of the "once powerful" or almost powerful forming resistance movements once they sense that they have lost their moment.

The GOP had better do some hard thinking about what it wants to be, who it wants to represent and how it wants to reform itself.  Or it will die.  And it will be a hard death.

    • True Patriot says:

Sir, you do not know what you are talking about and neither does Mr. Duff….if he was a military man then he ought to truly know what is at stake and that America needs to wake up and get our nation back before it goes socialist, run by those that want to ruin all our Founding Fathers made of this nation. We once were the greatest nation in the world and now we are liberal, supressing God and all that is truth, teaching our kids that gays are okay, that illegals can just run all over our nation and take what they want and that’s okay with our pockets and jobs, own China trillions and now will have to give them land, invite Muslims in to take over with their radical nutziness, won’t take care of our troops with honor and what they need; though they fight for us, have a corrupt government that is not by, of or for: we, the people and do not listen to us, we have taken up with all that would love nothing better than to see America wiped from the face of the earth….instead of the once strongest nation in the world!!!!!! I would call that a far cry from the patriotic bunch of us who are fighting for the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence and all that is America!!!!! If you like being a liberal fool then YOU are part of the problem! It will be AMERICA that dies with thoughts like yours…..what about uniting this nation and helping to do so and take back America for the Americas???? Where is your honor and patriotism sir? If the people do not do this and are not heard then we as a nation as going to be really sorry when we become taken over…..it is way past time to unite and BE the people that this nation is all about!

      Dear Obama Supporters,

I invite you to watch the video clip using the link provided here on YOUR very own PBS show with Bill Moyer, and tell me after you’re done with it that you, and all of America, is not now witnessing a cover up which will make Watergate look like child’s play in comparison. I dare ya!

  2. Mike Griffith says:

It seems that you and Tom Barnes are the only staff writers allowed to post purely political articles on the home page–articles that clearly have no real relevance to veterans issues.

Your articles are comical examples of abject paranoia and blind partisanship.

In your latest screed, i.e., the article above, you paint honest Americans who are fed up with Congress and the White House’s reckless, record-breaking spending, endless bailouts, and hundreds of billions of dollars in higher taxes–you paint Americans who are rallying against these things as either dupes, GOP agents (as if being a Republican is some kind of sin), or fascists.

You keep whining about what Bush did to the country, but you ignore the fact that the Democrats have controlled Congress since January 2007 and have spent money and buried us in debt at an even faster rate than the Republicans did.

Obama just signed onto the FSB plan at the G-20 that, if implemented, would put our regulatory agencies and financial firms under international control, but not a peep out of you about that development.

    • DA White says:

I just got finished with the card check article that you wrote. Don’t ever again claim to be a moderate, it just won’t hold.

  3. Joe the American says:

Truth be told, this revolutionary movement has attracted a large percentage of the “pro-American” activists. Can you imagine that, pro-American, who do these people think they are? Liberal Democrats know what’s best for our nation, “tax and spend.” The majority of people in this country don’t know anything. Why should we listen to them? They’re such idiots. GO OBAMA!

    • Dr. Mike says:

When you look at the objective research, virtually every Republican administration for the past 30 years has increased the deficit and prodigiously outspent their Democratic counterparts.

It’s there in black and white. No room for interpretation. Just because conservatives use the phrase “tax and spend liberal” a lot doesn’t make it so.

Plus, if you really analyze what liberals spend your tax money on- when they’re allowed to- it goes towards less crime, safer automobiles, less pollution, less dependence on foreign oil, national parks preservation, public education, no child labor, a 40 hour work week, the health insurance through your employer you rely on, the fact that your wife has the right to vote, etc., etc., etc.

All conservatives seem interested in is making it easier for their yacht club buddies to buy a second yacht—with your tax dollars.

    • apa says:

you are so blind its not funny! our great nation is under attack from within! You have the audacity to sit there and say that our lovely gov’t is creating jobs for us? while in march alone 800,000 people around the nation lost jobs. Where are you even getting your information from? that article? do you ever come to our site and check things out or are you just talking out your a**? its okay, we forgive you for sitting there and letting your mind be controlled by these tyrants. when your done being a little lamb, come on over to our side… the conservatives will win this battle….. good luck……..

    • Patrick says:

Dr. Mike is an idiot. Administrations don’t spend money, Congress does. And with the exception of 1994-2006, the Democrats have controlled it.

  4. DA White says:

I like some of these groups you have listed. When you have left and right radicals, most of the time a compromise is reached. This has been going on for over two hundred years and I, personally think that it is good for our form of government.

    • duffster says:

I belong to a couple also.

However, the mix has a nasty sound about it, a couple are total shitheads.

I actually really like working with McDonald Douglas.

Many of these groups are flimsy fronts.  The worst of the group is the Federalist Society.

      g

  5. John Trask says:

Your forgot the Bilderberg Group….ohh yeah that right no one knows about these people. That’s because THEY CALL ALL THE SHOTS!!! They don’t need no stinking support from anyone.

Sheepeople WAKE THE %$&* UP. Our President is a puppet just like all the other Presidents since 1954. Hmmmm same year the Bilderberg Group was founded. The mission The New World Order.

  6. The Blue Max says:

Ah, I see that The Obamagician continues to erode the brain cells of Daffy Duff. How far left are, you Daffy?

  7. Dave Culmer, a 20 year career Marine says:

Donald Duff Duck reminds me a lot of a person I just saw on the street. He had a dirty
white sheet over his cloths, broken popsicle sticks painted brown, formed around the top of his head, one sandal on, with a couple of broken straps on it. He was carrying a sign saying the world in ending next week, Repent! The torn and tattered dog eared dirty sign looked to be at least 6 months old.
Duffy Duck has no life, he is so diminished he will except being called a SOB as long as you talk to him.
I would gladly throw a few bucks to help get this guy to a shrink, as an act of human kindness. There is no telling what this guy is capable of doing, like in “Cool Hand Luke”,
“if he ever got his mind right”.

  8. Byron Skinner says:

    Good Afternoon Duff,

Damn I hate have having to agree with a jarhead, the only observation that you missed is that many of these groups are also the are the same folks who have problems with an African American President and a Japanese American Sec. of Veterans Affairs. The racial slim is ozzing out of this.

It is strange but I can’t recall any of these guys back in the 60’s in my rifle squad in Vietnam or in the Military Hospital where I spent to many months. I guess back then they were, who they hate now, or arse holes from the other side.

Keep up the postings, and square Barnes away, like most officers he needs his head removed for his six, but me thinks this can be correct by a size 11 applied to the problem.

    ALLONS,
    Byron Skinner

    • mary in ash covered/radioactive TN says:

Byron, out of all the responses to Mr. Duff’s expose’ of the usual suspects, right wing nuts, yours is definitely closer to what this new ‘resistance’ movement really is:

      1) The GOP nuts are now bitter losers and have no money, so they have
      2) called on their lobbyists friends who are racist hypocrites mad that their access to government handouts have now ended.
      3) So all these misfits got together and, in the name of patriotism (what a laugh!) think they can change the minds of 52 MILLION voters who wanted their collective asses out of control of our government, our money, our medical care! I doubt out of the whole entire pile of creeps, maybe 3 are vets!

It is clear…the names of these patriots include ANN COULTER! The Heritage Foundation! Hell, the only names I see missing are Limbaugh, O’Really, Hannity, Savage and SARAH PALIN.

      I am sending this revelation, this truth, out to ALL my friends. By the way, I worked in redneck, racist, homophobic, gun-totin’ East Tennessee for our President…who has kept a lot of promises that I assume you all would have felt important;
Let our troops come home from Iraq after 7 long years.
Is going to close our torture Chambers at Gitmo.
Said “The U.S. does not torture” and means it!

    • Byron Skinner says:

      Good Morning Mary in Tn.,

Politically I’m not with the Obama people 100%, I was a Nader supporter in the last election, I don’t see President Obama as a Liberal but more a slightly left of center politician. I agree with you we shout be getting out of Iraq and it should have started years ago. I think I in agreement with you on the race issue, strangely I don’t recall any of my Liberal friends defending their own racism, they know its’ their and they deal with it. But you know I have yet to hear a conservative or what ever the current crop of right wing nuts are when the topic turns to racism not say s the fool in another post here has “I’m not a racists, but…”, the bull sh** become activated.

Just for the record here Mary, I enlisted in the Army in 1965 I volunteered for the combat infantry, I volunteered to serve in the 11th. Cav. and deployed with that unit to Vietnam, the accumulative combat related disabilities that I have carry in excess of 200% ratings. I can be found at the 11th ACR annual reunions every year, just ask the old guys hanging around the bar, I’m one of these ragged combat veterans and have their universal respect even though intellectually I’m some what different.

Like my critic I also have a graduate degree, big deal. I didn’t get it while I was waiting out the draft, I got it after I served my country.

      ALLONS,
      Byron Skinner

    • GG says:

Yes, Mary – anyone of the sheeple who doesn’t toe the socialist line is a racist, hating individual who can’t possibly think for themselves. We need you socialists to think for us as you are so much wiser. I was slso a Marine and don’t agree with some on here. I thank them for their service but wonder if they are now sucking off the government tit. don’t think I’ll be visiting the leftest think tank again.

    • Tony says:

Daffy Duff, Byron and Mary are prime examples of what is wrong with this country. They are each hate filled prejudiced liberals who want to destroy the foundation of this once great country, judeo-christian values and the U.S. Constitution. No Byron, the color of Obama’s skin does not matter to the patriots who are trying to return this nation to a Constitutional Republic. The fact that he is a socialist is what matters to us. The constitution requires the government of the United States to be a REPUBLIC, not a Democracy, and certainly not a Socialist government. Therefore, the Democrats and Socialists are domestic enemies of this country.

Liberals are satan worshipping idiots, they do what their father Lucifer commands them. They lie (i.e. Daffy Duffs article above), cheat (i.e. ACORN and Obama’s election), steal (i.e. elections, as in Al Franken and others) or kill (i.e. Bill Clinton and the more than 30 men in his inner circle who mysteriously committed “suicide”) to win. Whatever it takes. They are the same type of sheeple who followed Hitler to hell, refusing to acknowledge the truth about what was really happening in their country, and they are the same people who will gladly convert to Islam to keep the jihadists from cutting their heads off. They are, in fact, domestic enemies of this nation. Rush is right when he says “ignorance is the most expensive thing in America” and these liberals are costing us Trillions.

  9. The Blue Max says:

Mr. Skinner is somewhat misled by his own experiences in one rifle squad among many rifle squads in many wars. And clearly YOU, Mr. Skinner, have a problem with racism. I wonder why. Guilt, perhaps?
My best friend growing up was a little Japanese boy who one day just disappeared along with his famils into our version of a concentrtion camp. As for The Obamagician, surely you can’t be proud that just a few weeks ago, he thought the wounded vets should pay for their own care. Could YOU have afforded that? And yesterday, his people announced that the missile defense budget wuld be slashed along with other parts of the Defense Budget, but he’s got plenty of money for those nasty insurance companies and banks that Daffy Duff seems to hate. And aren’t you proud of the way he bowed to the Saudi Arab King
and looked as if he was kissing the ring, too. Oh my. Skinner is no winner when it comes to keeping his priorities straight. But then I’m just one of those old people who enlisted and even got commissioned. For me, it was never HELL NO I WON’T GO! It was always, My Country,
right or wrong, my country. Your generation kind of forgot all that. In
fact, one might sat tha tThe Greatest Generation spawned a generation of woosies – and they have become the leaders of the Nation today.
I do not place you with the woosies. I just think youneed to shift that littel spotlight off yourself and point it outward to see what is really going on.

    • D J BLAIR says:

      Mr. Max:
Your attempt at a seemingly conservative quote is very misguided. The member of the federal legislature you manage to misquote was not saying that my country will be supported by me when it is right or wrong, but that he was as responsible for the country as a whole when it is right or wrong. ” THIS IS MY COUNTRY. AND RIGHT OR WRONG IT IS STILL MY COUNTRY.” That is the quote you wanted to mangle and like so many who dumbly wrap themselfs in the flag you got it wrong. So take your misquote and run with it any halfway intelligent historian knows you don’t know your history.

  10. The Blue Max says:

I bow to your superior knowledge of the quote that I learned (mislearned) as a 7 or 8 year kid in the Depression. Forgive me. I never took the time to find out whether my version was so incorrect that it took a scholar such as yourself to take time from his busy schedule to make sure I get it right from now on. But as a scholar myself (one of those real guys with a Phi Beta Kappa Key), I found it interesting that the only part of my message you could challenge was the quote. I take that as your validation of my brilliance. Thank you.

  11. Mike says:

where is the link between Shirley & Banister to Resistnet.com? I have seen where you state it and day they are linked but how do you know? Call me an “inquiring mind” I usually like to see the links

  12. Byron Skinner says:

    Good Morning Blue Max,

What’s thing what’s wrong with using your own name when you want to slime others, but since you are talking to Veterans you seemingly lack of any combat experience must be a source of embarrassment. One of the things that combat veterans have in common is a bull sh** meter and sir every time you post the needle goes to the right when you post.

For the record I’m a white anglo saxon, agnostic, liberal. Does that satisfy you sir. As for combat experience I was engaged in two battles in Vietnam who’s participants were award the PCU as individual awards. So cut the bull sh** and identify you self. You appear to have a great self interest be it economic or political in being critical of both Sec. Shenseki, who did two tours in Vietnam the last as CO of A/3/5 Cav. 25ID, where he lost part of a leg and President Obama.

For to many years non veterans have told veterans what they get, the time now is for Veterans to take charge of their own futures. Step one is the VA. Veterans all don’t agree and never will, we fought for that right, it wasn’t just handed to us, is to take over the Dept. of Veterans Affairs and get rid of the civilians who have been screwing us for years Sec. Shenseki got a good start on this when he canned Dr. Michael J. Kussman, the Under Secretary for Health for the Department of Veterans Affairs., a Bush hold over under his watch over $10 billion of ALLOCATED Veterans health funds were with held over eight years of the criminql Bush. Under Sec. Shenseki these funds are now being restored to the system.

No to address the issue that seems to bother your hemorrhoids, the use of private insurance. Here is a samplings of opinions that I’ve heard at aVAMC on the this topic. Fu** the, we tax payers have given billions to AIG, the largest health insurance under writher in the world, to ask them to help out the VA seems only right and they should do it gladly. The idea that the bast**ds who sent us to war bit couldn’t find time to serve are being asked to foot some of the bill is only right, a fist to President Obama. It’s time that others share our pain, billing the health insurance companies is just a start, how about Boeing, Lockheed and even GM who have made huge profits selling the tools of war, the equity hold of these firms already have their money.

This issue is over, like in dead, it’s been vetted by REAL veterans, opinions have been given and we have moved on. Like all the idiots of your strip you have something romantic notions of patriotism but never found the time to be one in your own life. The real patriots are sitting in line at VAMC’s waiting for medical attention for the wound they suffered in combat, the wait because cowards like you have rapped the funds out of there health care for the past eight years, not so bull sh**er trying to protect the profits of the insurance industry and most like fatten their own wallet.

    ALLONS,
    Byron Skinner
    C/1/11/ACR “1966″

  13. Mike says:

Byron by chance do you mean the PUC or otherwise known as a Presidential Unit Citation? Red or Blue? I missed Vietnam I am glad they sent me to the other place where they paid “hazardous duty pay” the DMZ in Korea it was a hell of a lot safer than Vietnam

Now NTC at Fort Irwin is the most dangerous place I know for “peacetime” service, heck it’s more dangerous there than many “hazardous duty” assignments vehicle roll overs, Hoffman devices being blown off in guys sides as they were loading them, tan transmissions going out and tanks rolling off the hills and running over jeeps etc, I was at NTC when the 82nd made a jump onto Bicycle Lake 4 dead and 179 hospitalized the winds caught them about 200 feet up sent them reeling into equipment being dropped from other C 130s one man did a cigarette roll

I am starting to feel old at the VA when these kids from Iraq and Afghanistan start coming in and they are younger than my own daughters but not as young as my son a Desert Storm baby he was born 9 months after I got back from the first Gulf war he just turned 17 in feb it does hurt to see these “kids” all screwed up, and sorry a 20 year old vet to me is a kid he is a warrior but they make me feel like an old man and I am not lol

I was at Fort Lewis a few year later when they brought the “baby lift” kids thru McChord AFB and they sent a bunch of us over from Ft Lewis to help with them bottles, baby food, diapers etc It would have been hilarious a bunch on Infantrymen trying to help the nurses with all of them babies and little kids.

I was sent back to Fort Lewis after Germany 3rd ID in 1980 and was still there when Mount Saint Helens blew up, it was shortly after that I was sent south to NTC.

One thing about the Army if you stayed in they did have you traveling a lot.

  14. Sage says:

I find your article very interesting but I’m not sure how you connected the dots. Could you expound on the research?

    Thanks.

  15. The Blue Max says:

Mr. Skinner: I enlisted in July 1950, had two weeks to square away and was sworn in 8-9-50. Went through the ranks to 3up/1down, picked up the gold bar in 1952. There are no bullet holes in my body and no gaps in my mind (except maybe a few senior moments). Worst thing that ever happened to me is waking up in my slit trench filled with icy water.
Pneumonia. Not a big deal. Walked away from the military in 1968 as a Reservist (Major, Inf). I have no use for a Commander-in-Chief who sends troops into battle but won’t let them win – or for a Congress that wants to cut the money needed to get the stuff they need to win.

You misinterpret my statements. When Obama, the non-veteran, came out with his remark that YOU and all disabled Veterans should pay for their own care, the Commander of the American Legion went ballistic (and rightfully so). I believe that every veteran with a disability should have FREE care paid for 100% as a moral obligation of the Nation. I do not believe you and I have a disagreement on this. As for AIG, talk to Obama. He gave them the zillions, not me.

Next: The fact that Obama is black is not a problem for me. I would remind you, though, that about 90% of Black America voted for him precisely because he is Black, and would have done so even if he were running as a Republican. That is an understandable form of racism given the history of Blacks in America.

It may interest you to know that I am presently involved with a host of other Veterans in a fight to defend not one but TWO VA Medical facilities (both in California) against further incursion by civilians.

Have a great day. YOu’ve earned it.

  16. Byron Skinner says:

    Good Afternoon Blue Max,

I see your were what we called in the Infantry… well out of politeness I won’t use any pejoratives here, I can dig it. You should really polish you defense against racism. In one sentence you say that presidents Obama’s race doesn’t matter and the then in the next sentence you claim, with out any quantifiable support, that 90% of Blacks voted for President Obama. Which is it, your second, I guess reflexive, remark is quite clearly racial or the more opaque racist disclaimer of your 1st statement?

Since the American Legion and most VSO’s have long relationships with the insurance industry, I have little interest in anything they have to say about the subject. What do you this of these same up standing VSO’s calling Sec. Of Veterans Affairs a Socialists and advising veterans to not use the benefits?

To: Mike, Sierra Alpha Tango, both were Blue.

    ALLONS,
    Byron Skinner

  17. The Blue Max says:

    Mr. Skinner:
Obama’s race does not matter to me, but it does to Black Americans.
Surely, you would not deny that, would you? As to the percentage of Black Americans who voted for Obama, you may want to google that and report back the true number. I won’t be off by much and I’m sure you will grant me a point or two up or down. It’s the fair thing to do.

As to people calling people names, can we agree that all sides of the aisle are quite capable of calling other people names – and do. The real problem is that we cannot seem to disagree without being disagreeable.
Whoever called the General a Socialist, it wasn’t me. I don’t know what he is, but if he supported the YOU PAY FOR YOUR OWN RECOVERY, I do not respect that position no matter the rank.

As to my college education, like yours it came AFTER my service and was courtesy of the GI Bill anbd my $125/month. I was born into a Democrat family, cast my first vote ever for IKE because I was mad at Truman for the bug-out policy.

Obama bothers me because I do not believe he is a strong chief exec.
I believed MacArthur: “Appeasement but begets new and bloodier wars.” I believed Omar Bradley who taught that loyalty has to go 3 ways: Up, down and sideways. Made sense to me when I was a Staff Sgt at 19 and commisisoned at 20 and even moreso when I commanded my first company at 21. If I’m wrong on Obama, thank God. If I’m right
we’re in deep doo doo and it’s gonna get deeper.

    Time will tell, won’t it?

  18. Mike says:

Where is the evidence of any link?

    • Jeffersonian says:

Exactly my thought. I see a lot of assertions, a lot of huffing and puffing, but nothing as regards support of same.

The Tea Parties I’ve seen, including one local event, were on (free) public property, attended by private citizens who drove themselves there and waved their home-made signs. What, precisely, needed funding from some top-hatted fatcat?

      Stupid column, Duff.

  19. Jim says:

Thanks for posting this article, If I understand this correctly, Grassfire is behind Resistnet, Shirley & Banister is behind Grassfire, all those companies are behind Shirley & Banister.

is this not at all like when they tried to overthrow FDR in the Business Plot?

um, did you make a list for the democrud front groups? like cair, naacp, acorn, you get the point, I would much rather be linked to free people then lefty zoobies. And the Catholic church, the boy scouts, what do you think of them…i CAN GUESS..Carl for the Patrotic resistance of New York,
Believe me New York needs all the help we can get, we got a lot of serious democrat created problems, the chickens are coming home to roost for New yorker, thanks to the democrats, its a true joy to be alive to see the day the lefts promises are exposed as ponzie scams..carl

    • Sadly says:

You are too ignorant to even recognize the point of this article. Wealthy people on the right have created a fake grassroots organization in order to whip people like you into a frenzy and get you to act out in ways that are really against your best interests (that is unless you earn over $250,000/yr or are here as a paid shill for Shirley & Bannister).

A real grassroots movement, such as the left’s MoveOn.org for example, isn’t a creation of some PR firm nor is it a puppet of the rich and powerful nor is it a tool of left wing special interest groups such as those you mentioned. It is a real grassroots group whose funding and agenda come from its individual members and the staff at MoveOn.

Understanding the difference is the key to getting off the hamster wheel.

    • Pamela Manard says:

Sadly you are sadly decieved. I think George Soros is probably the largest supporter of such groups as MoveOn.org, as well as many other socialist loving groups -

Progressives they preferred to be called these days. They have made much strides in trying to destroy our Traditional America. What are they progressing towards? I think USSA. That is what I resist!

    • The Blue Max says:

Ah, yes. MoveOn.org. The famous patriotic, military supporting organization that produced the famous New York Times ad. You know, the one that said: GENERAL BETRAYUS.

It amazes me that there are veterans who support that kind of pure,
unadulterated, anti-American, anti-the-Republic-the-founders-gave-us crap and still believe it falls under Love of Country.

But “this, too, shall pass away.”

  21. Ian says:

The problem with the “with us or against us” mentality that a lot of the commenters here are displaying is that eventually everyone who you do not define as with you WILL be against you.

  22. True Patriot. says:

Gordon Duff is an idiot. All this is, is HIS opinion, and you know what they say about opinions: “Opinions are a lot like assholes, everybody’s got one. “Idiot” is to kind. Gordon, you’re no patriot. You’re an asshole.

  23. Chosen says:

This article should win the Pravda Soviet Award for Journalism.

The funny thing is that the author sounds like he is writing some sort of therapy, because the article is purely subjective. There is no basis in connection other than his desire to contextualize resistance to the government as big business. That has to be the most laughable nonsense I have ever heard. Might as well try and tie the NRA to being pro gun control.

What is really being said here is that the government is afraid of disenfranchised veterans. So they let a pro Obama guy write a spin piece that would make Keith Olbermann blush.

Where the lie in this article is rests in these “guys” he is talking about. What groups. Most of the resistance people are creating is coming from the ground up. I know of no organized group, run by anyone. So in one failed broadstroke this Obama shill tries to tie anyone who is opposed to the massive rule of law violations committed by Obama as run by corporations?!?!?! LOL

The Soviets used to try and do the same thing. But common sense sees right thru this article.

The main point here is that the author supports Obama and what he is doing. The author, if you all recall also supported amensty, open borders, tarp and bailouts. Who is the corporate hack? That’s right. To try and tie resistance to corporations is ridiculous. Unless of course he is talking about Acorn being involved in Tea Party counter protests, Obama’s election, and the housing crisis.

This is typical leftpublican freeper propaganda. The author needs to learn not to lift message board posts off of a site funded by McCains rino camp.

I notice he injected Ron Paul, which doesn’t make sense either and I am not a Ron Paul guy. He is the most diametrically opposed to these organizations, so of course this whole diatribe stinks of propaganda and a simple broken mind. I fear that mister duff took pats on the back after a therapeutic writing course in a VA ward somewhere as to mean he could write. I am sure his counselors didn’t want to break it to him when he said “I like this writing thing, I think when I get my disability I’m going to write for veterans.” So instead of walking around with a cane and claiming “ringing in the ears” his writing does that.

I categorize his article as the literary (used very loosely)manifestation of a false medical claim against the VA. Duff is the guy who is looking for a full medical rating without any valid medical problems. This article should help him to make a 100% disability claim to the VA! I am sure if he takes it to the DAV and gives them power of attorney, they will let him know that he can drop his false claims and let this one sail thru, lol.

You’ve got to be kidding me?? Who in their correct frame of mind (IF you have a mind) is going to believe that list?? PLEASE!! NRA?? AETNA?? Sounds like the leftists are getting desperate to me.

    • Obama is not my President says:

Yes Terry, they are indeed desparate because they are finally seeing what it really means to be a patriot. What it means to defend our constitution. What it means to fight for what you believe in and to take this country back before the leftist destroy it completely. They will soon outlaw the bible as hate speach. Mark my words the marxists will stop at nothing.

  30. NoSocialism4USA says:

For years the American people, media and even legislative policy have been lied to , intimidated by left wing extremists through organization funded by their own tax dollars and the deep pockets of the likes of George Soros (Mr. currency destroyer himself).

Now that the American people are fighting back w/some of the same tactics, they are labeled as terrorists.

I would submit to you that ‘the resistance’ and defending of the Constitution is not party specific & is the honest effort of Freedom Loving American people.

The left is just nervous because they know from first hand experience how effective organization is.
They will stop at NOTHING to discredit and divide these Patriots by use of their ’same old tactics’ of pure lies.

Liberty is at stake people; do not be deterred from the Truth!

  31. Obama is not my President says:

As an ex-Canadian, I came to this country in 1992 to escape the taxation under socialism. I never knew what it meant to be truly free until I came to America. Never was a racist and couldn’t stand how the country treated black folks back in the 50’s. My freedom means more to me now than ever. Being taxed and threatened with Socialism by any group just plain pisses me off. It doesn’t matter what color they are. The ignorance of socialism in this country is profound with American children being indoctrinated in liberals schools. I wish these same people that think socialism is so great will experience before they say that is what they what to live with. Democracy will cease to exist when you take from those who are willing to work and give to those who won’t work. Get your dam head out of the sand and head on over to Russian if you think this is what you want America to become. Leave us patriots alone. “Whoever claims the right to redistribute the wealth produced by others is claiming the right to treat human beings as chattel.”

  32. Obama is not my President says:

Want to see America become a third world country? Continue to support Obama and his brown shirts as they turn illegals into card carrying members of the democrat party? During this recession check to see who gained the most. It was George Soros, the leftist billionaire with his off shore bank accounts. Insiders like this always benefit from hard times in America

  33. JohnR says:

It never ceases to amaze me how many people can’t think or see for themselves. To make it worse, they tend to be the ones who uncritically accept the claims of anybody who wraps his words in the flag. As a general rule, I find words like “sheeple”, “traitor”, “True Patriot”, “liberal fascist”, “freedom” and etc. to indicate someone who would have felt very comfortable in the ranks of the Black Shirts or Brown Shirts. It’s like talking to insane people – the words they use are the same, but the definitions they use are wildly different from those used by people such as Jefferson, Adams, Washington and so forth. There are good people who’ve served and who have never served in the military, just as there are good people who are “liberals” and who are “conservatives”. Problem is, of course, that the “conservatives” left in the GOP aren’t by any definition “conservative” as much as they are hungry for a time when they’re in charge and able to impose law and order their way. It’s not just that everything looks like a nail when your only tool is a hammer, it’s more that once you define your opponents as sub-human, then anything you do to them is acceptable, both Legally and Morally (at least using Higher Laws and ignoring pesky national laws because they must have been imposed by your Enemies).

  34. Dr Zen says:

Wow. Whenever I ask myself “who’d be fucking stupid enough to join the army and kill people they have no quarrel with”, I can remind myself of the mouthbreathers in this thread.

Very very rich men are making dupes out of you. They know which buttons to press, and like the good sheeple you are, you jump when you feel the pressing.

  36. Billionaire for Bush says:

Thank you all so much for taking the day off from work to protest marginal increases to my taxes. This country will collapse if we return to the tax rates imposed by that socialist Reagan or – heaven forbid! – the leftist-marxist Eisenhower.

I hope that others learn from your good example and urge their leaders to eliminate all worker protections, product safety standards and monopoly restrictions so that I can make even more money in the future. In return, I promise to make sure that military contractors like myself receive the bulk of your tax dollars — as is our due!

  37. Greg says:

This article is so completely false, the author better hope he doesn’t get sued for libel! It’s hard to believe that a Marine combat vet would believe such nonsense unless he has drunk too much of the Obama coolaid

Hundreds of thousands of servicemen were exposed to asbestos over decades, especially during the period from 1940 to 1980. Asbestos was used in construction of naval vessels as well as shore facilities. All branches of the military used asbestos, which was also widely used in civilian applications. Asbestos can cause mesothelioma. Because this cancer has a particularly long latency period, many servicemen who were exposed years ago are now developing this disease. - Mesothelioma Patient & Family Resources: Mesotheliomahelp is provided by Belluck & Fox, LLP as a comprehensive resource for mesothelioma victims and their families.  The site provides up-to-date information on the latest news and treatment options as well as an easy to use search feature to find local mesothelioma doctors and health care clinics.  - We fight for veterans harmed by asbestos: Veterans with mesothelioma or asbestos-related lung cancer should know they have options: the opportunity to bring a suit against manufacturers and sellers of the asbestos that caused their illness. If you were harmed by asbestos exposure, for example, in ships or military housing, contact Weitz & Luxenberg to get a free case review. - Important Information for Veterans: Asbestos products were often used on military ships and within military housing, and Veterans may have been exposed. Previous exposure to asbestos is the only known cause of mesothelioma, a fatal cancer that has no cure and affects countless Veterans and loved ones.
