Wounded warriors to tackle tough new challenge: McKinley
AP-A group of warriors is taking aim at Mount McKinley. Most of the team members have been wounded in battle.
David Shebib had an improvised explosive device go off in his face. In 2005, Marine John Kuniholm lost his arm during an insurgent attack in Iraq. And Matt Nyman has a prosthetic leg.
The group has spent the last year climbing other mountains in preparation for taking on North America’s highest peak. Marc Hoffmesister says they hope to inspire other soldiers who have been wounded.
The expedition begins Monday and is expected to take three weeks.
