Now we are playing the story, "Taliban Finances Terror with Opium." Then why did we invade Afghanistan only after the Taliban outlawed opium? Why did we ally ourselves with druglords, now being investigated for war crimes, in our ill fated bid to overthrow the Taliban?
When America occupied Iraq, why did it become an opium exporter, something it never was under Saddam? Now the Obama administration and their war guru, Richard Holbrook find American policiy in Afghanistan is tied to opium production and export with production increases in US and British controlled areas reaching record levels every year.
With prisons in America overflowing, 2 million locked up and millions more "in the system," drugs have nearly destroyed America. Does anyone realistically believe that any of this would have gone on without total complicity at the highest levels of the American government?
For years it has all been nothing but pretend. Huge fields constituting thousands and thousands of acres of huge red flowers that can be seen from miles away and easily eradicated with simple over the counter chemicals most of us have in our homes are invisible to our UAV aircraft, satellites and even the troops that carefully leave the opium crops undisturbed.
Here in the US, the DEA can find a single marijana plant hidden in your tomato patch from 5 miles away but misses the worlds biggest and fastest expanding opium crop from 5 feet away.
We watched fuel prices rise 300% and cocaine and heroin prices plunge for 8 years of Bush rule. Anything thinking this in coincidence is blind.
Mike Ruppert spoke up. His offices were ransacked, he was poisoned and fled the country.
If you think powers inside government that would kill thousands of their own citizens for a few boatloads of stolen Iraqi oil would hesitate to do as much for billions in drug cash, you haven’t been paying attention.

i’m not ragging now. just curious. has this gone from a veterans site to a history channel outlet? just maybe the $20 billion or so “used up” by our DEA yearly is in direct conflict with other gov’t agencies? ok. is anyone really surprised? no. maybe a law enforcement site? according to you, BO became responsible 3 months ago. has anything on this “front” changed? how long before we get the BO “surge” to afganistan?

jim, hate to see ya go. gordon can be cantankerous. i don’t even know that “tom” exists. c’mon back and just “read”. you mat find an occasion to “comment”. anybody can “google” anybody. i saw one of my property when i was actually pissing in my alley. depending on your timing, you could come up with pretty much the same pic. seriously, don’t give up too easily. it can be fun.
It is so easy to say “paranoid” to these articles. The administrations have been great with PR and laughing at “conspiracy theories” Unfortuneately the conspiracy is on the part of the government officials, from the White House down (and above)
We have been induced to laugh at people, when they learn the horrid truth about our politicians and actions by the government.
We have been trained to believe the ‘nuts or sluts” tags on dissenters.
If those of us, who are so inclined to condemn dissenters, would take the time to actually look at the historical facts, they would feel very differently. However, the educational system hasn’t trained the last generation to questions, only to condemn.
The last administration has taught and encouraged hatred. The with us or against us line IS NOT FROM OUR CONSTITUTION BUT IN LINE WITH NAZI OR FASCIST THINKING.
Thank you Gordon for being brave enough to print the truth. and it does take bravery to care enough for our Constitution to put yourself in the line of fire .
