Jim
see my article on Obama's speechs at the VFW. The Major Organizations just don't want to make the waves needed to Fix the system.
In the meantime the politicos just keep on promising the moon and giving us a alice of cheese.

Mr Moore, I am about the same as you. I have also had 5 heart bypasses, and 2 back operations. I don't think I could pay for all my medicines by myself. The VA system is far from perfect. I would like to see them clean up the backlog of claims. There are certainly other areas that they can do better, but like you I will not fault them too much, and not so harshly. I have met a lot of good people working for the VA. I have met some not so good too. I have been using the VA 40 years now, and probably will until I die. I'm just glad there is something for us there.

For all of you that have been knocking the V.A.

December 23 1985 I had a 5 by pass heart operation. This email would not be able for me to send because I would be dead, with out the medicines supplied by the VA.
I was supplied with $6000.00 hearing aids if bought on the open market. I was also supplied with a scooter and lift for my pickup, another $6000.00.

My drug bill for the 25 pills I take every day would cost a estimate price of
$3000.00 a month.

I was in the Navy from 9-11-47 to 2-27-50. 9-7-2009 I will be 79 years old.

No complaints will ever come from me.

Thanks VA for my life.

I also do not believe President Obama. There are over 915,000 unprocessed veterans claims before the Department of Veterans Affairs.
(Source: Marine Corps Times Article by Rick Maze on June 30, 2009)

These staggering numbers are not coming out anywhere on TV and radio. In my opinion, the VA has done quite a job on suppressing that information from getting national media attention.

On Veterans Day, President-elect Barack Obama stated, " As your next Commander in chief, I promise to work every single day to keep that sacred trust with all who have served." ( The Morning Call, November, 12, 2008)

I guess when the President repeats a lie often enough he begins to believe it.

I don't believe him.

I am sure the new Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki and President Obama are working hard to fix the discrepancies that are causing Veterans so much grief at the Veterans Administration. As I continue to receive rejection letters from many different organizations and government officials all I can do is continue to hope. I have paid the price of time and I have been exposed to the lies and I begged and pleaded to where I am not sure if there are any compassionate humans left.

I have pulled documents and researched the last 8 years and the VA has left a legacy of horror and continues to dishonor and commit crimes against humanity. (Our Veterans) Below is a summary of what has happened to me.

a.	I received a letter a certificate of eligibility dated 07/11/2002 to go to the school in question. It was verified verbally from the VA with the school officials to start with the guarantee that I will receive my school funds.
b.	I was allowed to accelerate my classes
c.	Months after the fact I was told that I was disapproved to go to that school.
d.	The school officials and myself where told many times that the problem would be solved so I continued to go to school.
e.	I was told to file a notice of disagreement and once that was done I should get paid for the school.
f.	On December 8, 2003 with assurances for the VA the school wrote me letter stating that I did meet the requirements for a degree but I could not receive transcripts until the school receive payment. I continued my schooling so I could be prepared to take the certification tests. I used that letter to receive a Masters in Biblical Studies and I was working on my doctorate.

g.	I have an email that I wrote to the VA dated 02/10/2005 and was replied on 02/24/2005 that said I never was enrolled in school.
h.	From my notice of disagreement that was dated April 14, 2003 to about March 02, 2005 my NOD was not processed. We are talking about 2 years my file was sitting somewhere in the regional office.
i.	From March 02, 2005 until about June 16, 2005 the regional office sent me a letter disapproving my appeal.

Years latter from misplacing my records to outright losing them. From a remand to a unilateral motion for remand anyone with compassion should see what’s going on. It is now 2009 and I am still begging for help. Our President says… I know you've heard this for years, but the leadership and resources we're providing this time means that we're going to be able to do it. That is our mission, and we are going to make it happen. We will see.

The Vietnam Vet's are cast to the side, we are not in the economic equation, we are not longer needed!!!!!!!! You continued to allow the V.A. to deny benefits to Vietnam Vet's while you give their tax dollars to the rich.
