The "tea baggers" and "resist.net" are holding a conservative rally in Washington, with many calling for the assassination of the President. There is no shortage of money to pay for the outing as major corporations, listed below, including insurance and defense contractors, are funding this rally, really a Klan rally.
The issues? Well, there really are none, none but one. We are currently beset with problems, entirely caused by the Bush administration whose illegal wiretapping, spying, secret prisons, torture and undermining of law was a threat to every American. It could be our massive debt, run up by Bush or the wars we are losing, started by Bush or the unraveling of Bushs’ 9/11 coverup.
It is none of those. It is just like it was during the 1920s. Ignorant "white folks" scared to death of "black folks" are out on a lynching party backed by corporate money. First, lets get to the list of corporations paying the bills. It was easy to find. The "movement" has websites run by big money public relations agencies. Their client lists are public. Did you notice the pile of insurance companies, the defense contractors, the US Chamber of Commerce and the NRA? Check the list carefully. Look into who these folks are. This is the group funding, what they hope will be, a civil war in America.
These are the folks sending out gun toting protestors talking about "watering the tree of liberty."
These are also the richest people in America and the most powerful and include some of the biggest polluters, the biggest protectors of illegal immigration and thousands and thousands of lawyers working for big business against everyday Americans.
This is the single biggest group of "Washington insiders" ever assembled, if not insurance industry or defense, all are directly aligned to the Republican Party and help formulate failed Bush policies.
Let’s face the truth. There is only one reason all those uneducated white people are out yelling and screaming, guns left in their luggage on busses paid for by taxpayer money sucked in by the biggest pack of corporate thieves that ever bribed a congressman.
Its all about the "N" word. We are having a convention of Americans in love with the "N" word, people who use it every day, folks afraid of black people they don’t know, people easy to scare.
We are also having a convention of "male enhancement" customers and people whose anti-psychotic drugs don’t seem to be working as intended.
If you work for one of the companies listed above and you don’t agree with using money, some taxpayer bucks and much of it funds meant for heavily abused stockholdiers to spend on Klan rallys, maybe you should start asking some hard questions.
If you are someone who believes they are a patriot but isn’t entirely comfortable with the idea of fighting for a "patriotic resistance" funding by think tanks working for defense contractors and insurance companies, consider yourself duped.
However, if you are a racist, a secessionist and hate the United States, its laws, its government and expecially its freedoms and traditions, you are exactly where you belong.

EXCELLENT article. You hit the nail on the head. Not all "patriots" want to see American succeed. What they want is to see their vision of American succeed, no matter what the cost.
Be careful of "patriots" of any ilk, any political party, any socio economic standing. Something is wrong with an individual when a sort of psuedo-religious jingoism takes over his psyche and tells him that "the real America" is in danger and we all need to arm ourselves and muster in the town square.
We are slowly moving in that direction, for reasons that probably number in the hundreds.
I hope I am dead before the next revolution. I would frankly be too embarrassed to try and explain it to my grandchildren. I cannot even explain it to myself.
One thing is for certain however, big money does not, cannot, never has and never will have a conscience. It is always about one thing, power and access to power.
We need to do one simple thing to figure these things out. It is the same thing that centurions, policemen and prosecutors have been doing since the days of the Roman Empire.
Follow the money.
The answer is always at the end of that trail.

Dear Trouble: I wonder about some of the good Christian folks who have allowed themselves to get swept up in this new American Reprisal. Why should anyone put someone else down for serving in another branch of the military and discredit their service to America? Or is it the fact that he was a CWO3? I know of men that were CWO3′s in Vietnam that were the most professional and skilled pilots and brave troopers. They kept many men alive with their skills, dedication, professionalism and bravery. My father received the silver star on the D Day invasion. He was in charge of one of those crafts that carried the men to shore under heavy fire. He swam back to the ship after craft was blown out of the water. He returned with more men and again was blown up, almost drowned after being wounded and took care of men on the beach under heavy, heavy fire. His branch of service, the US Coast guard. If anyone thinks its easy in the CG, go out for rescue swimmer, their physical is very tough and so is the school. Also, do most of you know that once war is declared, the CG becomes part of the Navy. Thanks for your service CW03 Barnes

Contempt prior to investigation is the very cornerstone of ignorance.
I don’t know what happened on 9/11. There are camps that have agendas. All I know is that the official story has been challenged since day one by people who had nothing to gain by challenging the story and in fact, they had a lot to lose by doing it.
I don’t know what happened that day. But apparently the official explanation has been largely discredited.
That should be enough in any reasonable mind to ask for a new investigation.

As an engineer, I can tell you that a lot of the “truthiness” is absolute nonsense (“The ETC was mined with explosives!”). As a long-time government insider, military and otherwise, I can say that there is a high probability that a lot of the nuttier claims were PLANTED, deliberately, to discredit ALL questioners as “tin hat conspiracy theorists.”
Whenever you ask a legitimate question like, “Why were the interceptors, which were already hot on the runway, ordered to STAND DOWN — and who had the authority to do that?” (Answer, the Prez, the VP, and the SecDef. Hm.) … When a golfer’s private plane was followed by a hastily-scrambled interceptor within ten minutes of losing contact…?
The Herr Karl Goebbels Rove shot back with “Oh, just another conspiracy nut.”
A great deal of the blame for the disaster can be assigned to sheer incompetence, from the piss-poor design and construction of the towers themselves to Giuliani.
A considerable amount more can be assigned to the bushdick regime’s DELIBERATE malfeasance — not paying attention to shared intelligence, not tracking known suspicious characters who were training at a flight school run by their own people, authorized by George’s own brother in Florida. (Three years later, you got arrested for praying to Mecca — but the intelligence agencies already had tabs on these people, and were told to forget about it?!?)
But there are plenty of clues that the bushdicks not only knew the attacks were coming and did nothing to stop it, but had a certain hand in aiding and abetting it.
When I investigate an incident, as an engineer, down to and including a broken wire, NO ONE tells me to “just forget about it.” And anyone who does automatically comes under suspicion.
You don’t have to believe that Cheney&Company were neck-deep in the whole plan — though personally, given his long history of no-holds-barred power-lust and treason, I could make a damn good case that he was — to demand a REAL investigation, a REAL look at the facts, a detailed and extensively cross-linked expert evaluation instead of a second-grader’s whitewash suitable for Chicken George to present to his idiot fan club.

But demanding an investigation into a disaster is in no way related. In fact, trying to relate the two by calling them “truthers” and “birthers” is a piece of psy-ops all on its own, created by, surprise! rightwingnut lip-flappers, to try to equate people who aren’t satisfied with the “final” report on 9-11-01 — all sane people — with the schizo bigots who can’t stand the thought of someone with dark skin in the White House, and will grasp at any bizarro excuse — all insane people.
Would the “anti-truthers” have denigrated the expense of dredging up the pieces of Challenger to establish as a matter of fact what we suspected from the first videos? Would the “anti-truthers” claim that the NTSB is a waste of money?

When I investigate an incident, as an engineer, down to and including a broken wire, NO ONE tells me to “just forget about it.” And anyone who does automatically comes under suspicion.

The money also has built and maintains the radio and cable tv echo chamber that passes for a beacon of conservatism. (Barry Goldwater and William F. Buckley are rolling in their graves.) Instead of well-reasoned, logical arguments with supporting facts, we hear epithets and buzz-words designed to stoke anger and invoke fear.
Emotional intensity can easily override intelligent reasoning. Which is why Beck, Savage, Hannity and the big L man himself use these short-cut phrases to spike their followers. They really do not want the clear light of day shining on them. It would seriously spoil their “party.”

When we ended the vigil, and started our walk back, the reichwing cowards tossed their beer cans, wrappers, signs, and in one case a dity diaper in the park, and took off carrying nothing except the coolers that still had beer in them.
A teenage girl ran back to their car, grabbed a bunch of plastic shopping bags headed for the recycle bin, and started picking up their trash. (We used double bags to handle the diaper. No telling what reichwingnuts are infested with these days, considering how damaged their brains are.)

I read about our elected official Joe Wilson and his flip-flop on health care but his health care is secure with the private government health care that our elected officials voted for themselves. Then there is the sales tax in Massachusetts that the Mass state senator voted to increase for his constituents, then he comes to NH to avoid his new state tax. Now I read about the burial of the U.S. Military being buried in their home states because they gave their lives for our Constitution. Our government workers and elected officials have so manipulated our Constitution that it has become a worthless piece of paper. Other Veterans come home to be left to die on the street with out medical care. Joe Wilson is nothing different. Almost every one of our elected officials is corrupted by our Democratic or Republican parities. I am sure that some sharp critics will question my character because of this statement. Our system of government has become degraded that anyone whom questions official crimes will be destroyed by public anger because of a perceived false character flaws our government releases. Joe Wilson is no different making the public afraid to speak against his flip-flops.
It is happening in every state. The NH governor charged a 100% disabled veteran money to speak with him. We never spoke and our NH government official’s crimes continue to mount. It is happening in every state. SC governor goes to South American to have an affair at government expense. President Bush uses our military lives to set a Legacy for his memoirs. A U.S. Rep insults President Obama during a public speech in the House Chambers. Prosecutors use the courts and trumped up charges to get a defendant to make a deal rather than face illegal incarceration. Police testa lie to get a conviction. Left and right wing radio hosts destroy lives with false truths, by stating facts in a manipulated way. I read about Joe Wilson in the Veterans Today web site but our newspapers will refuse to print the opinion of the public with the truth so well stated as this opinion letter. Can we the disabled Veterans and all others hope that some day Joe and his friends will allow us into their special class of society. Maybe someone should tell people like Joe the U.S. does not have a special class that gets special treatment. We are all equal according to that worthless piece of paper.
NH declared this 100% disabled veteran a terrorist to stop my opinion letters. It did not work. The day that I got out of jail I wrote another one. The government then stopped my VA medical care to stop my opinion letters. The government is trying to make me violent. The VA is pushing me to commit suicide. The newspapers censor the opinion of the people. Live Free or Die is a good motto for the State of New Hampshire. Joe and the other government officials should start listening to the people before it is to late. No one wants to face what our politicians are doing to returning U.S. Military that carry the title VETERAN.

A group of teabaggers participated in my area and they are good decent and hard working patriotic Americans. They paid for their trip themselves and have no hidden adjenda or ulterior motives. I won’t even respond to some of the comments made here but they are simply citizens concerned about where our country is going. As a retired military man I know personally what Obama did when visiting Iraq before being elected. He did not associate at all with enlisted personel. He cavorted with Cols and above and ‘posed’with enlisted not even eating the meal put in front of him. Anyway, in my opinion this man does not have either the military or veterans at heart. He damn sure better have someone check into Acorn also.

I was involved in the organization of a tea party in Dallas in which we received $0 from any corporations. That is what the movement is about. Concerning veterans issues, I have some suggestions. As a retired dir of a county veterans office for twenty years, I have learned alot. It is a constant learning experience. Although I have a MA in Military History, that in itself did not help. It was the research and listening. I have some suggestions for those that are seeking a disability. Always make copies of everything you do, do not, I repeat, do not call the 1800 827 1000 number. In some cases you will prolong your case and also many of those individuals are new and don’t understand much of whats going on in the VA. Do not go to a national veterans service office to get assistance. Some of them are good but alot of them are untrained and side with the VA on many, many issues. Also, if you utilize the VA hospital, get copies of your medical file every single time you go there. The VA has a tendency to LOSE medical files after a period and you then are out of luck. Also, request a copy of the C & P exam if one is done, so you will be prepared to disagree, if need be. Thought I would take just a few lines to hopefully help.

You know I started reading all the comments on this story, and had to stop! What total BS! Do you people, Hopefully, Veterans and Americans realize that we are getting screwed everyday by corrupt politicians, and Big Business’ that are only out to help themselves and their companies? Our country used to be about the “American Dream”, and that everyone had this opportunity to succeed, not anymore!
We have veterans living on the streets because it is cheaper to employ ILLEGAL ALIENS, and is cheaper to deny them the benefits this country promised us!
It’s a shame that everything I was taught about what this country was supposed to stand for is being proved to be nothing but a lie! I have documentation of ILLEGAL ACTIVITES by the “VA SYSTEM” mainly in St. Louis Mo., and have tried to receive help from my so-called elected officials, etc., one even a so-called war hero named Sen. McCain, but they don’t seem to care, so why should they care about resolving real healthcare issues, and our receiving the actual benefits promised to us? Much less about National Healthcare, and helping real Americans have their own slice of the big pie! Elected officials, big business’ don’t have to worry about feeding their children, healthcare, etc.! They made sure of that!

First, if you’re going to provide names of contributors to any political event, it’s really pretty much proper practice to give the references for such information so that people don’t just have to take your word for it. The information available should include the names of the company and the amount of their contributions. And if the contribution comes from an individual who only works for the company but is contributing as an individual, that doesn’t exactly count for anything.
Secondly, I saw no sign calling for assassinations, and certainly no speaker came within a hundred miles of any such thing. They were all moderate in their talks. Were there some kooks, extremists, and even racists in the crowd? No kidding, you cannot ever have a major political rally without the fringe showing up. Antiwar rallies have people show up who hate the US and want it destroyed, I’ve met such myself. Overall this was a Middle America crowd, expressing their fears, concerns, and frustrations, as Free Speech pretty much says we all can. Whether their concerns are valid or invalid is never the point of Free Speech.

The issue is that President Obama’s health care plan will provide competition to the fat-cat isurance companies, which has the insurance companies panicked.
The issue is Fifty MILLION American CITIZENS, including veterans and their families who have been screwed by Bush’s VA, cannot afford even basic health care. One serious accident or illness, and one-fourth of us will lose everything. Not that we have much to begin with, THANKS TO EIGHT YEARS OF BUSHDICKS.
