It all started in Sturgis at the Broken Spoke in which a man called Johm Devitt according to police reports and court documents attacked Mr. Lyons while Mr. Lyons was doing a job for the VVMF. Mr. John Devitt has 2or 3 of his own replica walls which is used to travel and exibit his wall with then names of the vets that died in Vietnam. Now what does he do with the donations ? I heard of stories that he never served in Vietnam according to his fellow soldiers. Anyway John Devitt is displaying his wall in the Broken Spoke at Sturgis and Mr. Lyons was requested to take the "The Wall That Heals" to the Broken Spoke and only open the display and not to put out the Wall. He does so when Mr. Devitt first verbally attacks Mr. Lyons and then physically attacks Mr. Lyons. Get copies of the police report and speak to the managers/owners of the Broken Spoke so they can tell you how drunk and disorderly Mr. Devitt was. Now Mr. Devitt tells his friend Larry Stimeling who starts a smear campaign against Mr. Lyons without taking the chance to verify the truth. Then he continues into Mr. Lyons personal family and friends. If Larry had a problem with Richard he should of taken it up with Richard and not his entire family.. Everytime something was posted against Richard in the POWNET network is was posted but if something positive or an explanation about Richard it was quickly deleted. Is it not the policy to report the truth on both sides and not to take one side only ? I dont know but maybe I am wrong..Dont throw stones when you live in a glass house..I hope I sort of explained it. I ran across other old Marines displaying an old duece and a half. I'm always glad to meet old Marines. These guys gave me the cold shoulder. I heard one of them say "I don't think I can stomach this, and a couple of other things. I turned around and they were looking at me.I thought surely he's not talking about me. There were family with their kids all around us and the police. I walked away thinking this guy is looking from trouble. It wasn't till I read these articles about fake Vets did I relize that's what they were talking about me. I hope you (the one talking) are reading this because I'm coming back to see you.
