Camp Lejeune whistle-blower fired
Mark Benjamin at Salon reports on a whistle-blowing psychiatrist who allegedly "tried to prevent Fort Hood-style violence among Marines about to ‘lose it’ [and] instead loses his job. …
As Dr. Kernan Manion investigated the two Marines’ claims about conditions at the North Carolina military base, the largest Marine base on the East Coast, he found they were true.
Manion, a psychiatrist hired last January to treat Marines coming home from war with acute mental problems, warned his superiors of looming trouble at Camp Lejeune in a series of increasingly urgent memos."

Fort Hood the reason to fire is in this article
Reading list keeps growing 10-15-09

The reading list of people wanting to read my letters is just getting out of control. Many are veterans or relatives of veterans being shortchanged by the Veterans Administration. They write to tell me that they appreciate what I am doing (writing and exposing wrongs) or ask my help or suggestion on what they should do. The system is wrong and the newspapers censoring my opinion are wrong causing many people hardship. The editors claim that they are a private business so they do not have to print letters that they believe are libelous. My letters are published in so many blogs, forums and mailed directly to newspapers, government officials and judges that the libel question is moot. The truth stands on it’s own. Everything that I put in my letters can be documented in court and government files. No one has been able or willing to go this far to correct the wrongs so the system has out grown its checks and balances. The government was designed to protect the people’s guaranteed rights not control them.
Veterans Administration and elected officials have with intent to cause harm committed crimes to stop me. It is not I that matters. It is the other Veterans and citizens life that matters to me. I am a dead U.S. Marine that came back to a place that I do not belong. The pain in my head and body must stop. How can anyone let Government officials use a disabled Veterans medical care to stop the veteran’s opinion of wrongs in government? How can the ethics of newspaper stoop so low as to allow veterans to be censored in the belief libel questions that do not exist come first? The Veteran’s Today web site publishes my letters, which are read by more people than you can count. Elected officials, VA officials and many more understand the wrongs being committed here but as in the Army Major at Fort Hood no one wants to speak up for fear of losing their cozy job. Veterans suffering from combat related mental and physical disabilities are neglected and cast aside until prison awaits them for a crime silence and ignorance by you caused. I tell you that it is like singing into the wind can cause the frustration. What causes PTSD and can we control it if we do not treat it. Can PTSD be the memory that will not go away or the memory lost from the Traumatic Brain injury? How can we put U.S. Military Veterans in prison for crimes that we the people created in their heads by sending them off to war? Homeless Veterans make up 25% of the homeless in the U.S. and no one cares. The people calling writing or meet to just speak with some one that cares can be overwhelming.
My letters are read and understood but no one is willing to make them public so the harm to Veterans continues with out care. “What are we fighting for next stop is Vietnam”. I am slipping away from where we are so I must go to get this letter off before I re-enter the world that I belong.
I ask everyone to ask why no one will speak to a 100% disabled veteran about wrongs being committed against you the United States citizens?? Some one has to expose me for what I am and stop me from continuing. I just do not know!

I hear your pain loud and clear. I have great concerns with the “HEALTH BUDDY” system issued to Veterans with chronic diseases. WHAT? These are soldiers not physicians. What the heck is wrong with this country? My father is dead because he was issued one of these machines out of the Syracuse VA Hospital. James Cody the Adm said to me in a letter “it has a 24 hour delay time in reading messages transmitted into the hospital by a Veteran. That cant be further from the truth and if it was “sold” as such would anyone purchase it? NO. This machine is to be monitored at the hospital 24/7 yet when my father turned in a blood pressure of 88/57, thats right the VA read “HIS” message 24 hours later. That is how the Syracuse VA has implemented their “DEATH BUDDY.” This machine costs thousands. The number 44FB2AD will be etched in my mind forever, it was the seriel # on his machine, which I am told is sitting in the VA Hospital in Syracuse. They issued this machine to my Dad a 31 year Army Veteran and he had cataracts! Imagine that. Also, the Syracuse newspapers wont touch this story. I have tried. I only want to save the lives of other Veterans who may have this machine. But, my story falls on deaf ears. I hear you loud and clear! Deb Hibbs
Homeless Veterans make up 25% of the homeless in the U.S. and no one cares
The statement above that you posted is wrong. There has been millions in new money to help with the homeless. You get on your rant and damn the whole VA system. YES THERE ARE PROBLEMS and I admit that. I have been using the VA since 1952, after I got back from Korea. I have had a few problems, but not all that you seem to tell about. All it takes is posters like you and a few Vets that want to gripe, because they could not get things done in one day. This is my opinion on that part. There is ONE thing that will make it a lot easier to get through the system. When you want help from the VA go to the Legion-VFW-DAV or other service officer. Let them do the work for you. They know where to go and what to do. If you get one that does not, get another. In the pat five years I have sent a lot of Vets up to the VA here in Maine. I sent three WW2 vets up and two of the came out with unemployability status and got the 100% pay rate. It is too bad when you or others make them look like a bunch of dubs. If you cared so much, why don’t you show them the ropes, if you can, on the best way to get the help needed. In my opinion you are only making those that need help in giving up before the start. It would help a lot more to cool off your tantrums or what ever you want to call your rants. For the ones reading his post and this one, you make the choice on what you think is the best approach. ————Bob, just another 100% disabled Vet and pleased for the VA system.
Hi, Yes, I do care very much about the plight of the HOMELESS Veteran. SC has a huge population. We have a shelter here at 1905 Burton Lane in N Charleston called “The GOOD Neighbor. They are the forgotten souls of this area even by the MAYOR HIMSELF. I personally wrote him a letter and I have not recieved a response nor has the center. My husband is a retired Master Chief and we do take as much time as we can for these men. ( it is a mens shelter). They are thirsty for love and attention they deserve. They are Viet-Nam veterans. It currently is full to capasity 36. They have a shared room (two to a room) three meals a day, but thirty 36 men drive up the bills electricty bill is out of this world and water bill is the same. Do they get a break NO. Two woman fight for grants from the federal government to keep this shelter going. It is insanity. They recieve NO federal funding. What is the definition of Insanity? Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. We never learn from the past. Deb
Bob
you are right there are alot of great people working in the VA but one left behind is to many. If the VA did the right thing then there would not be problems for any one. It is high horse people that think because they have life so easy that forgets about the others. I was injured four times during my tour three are combat related. Using ones medical care to stop opinion letters is wrong. It is wrong in anyone’s book. We were given the right to speak out when wrong in government are committed. We were also given the right to stay silent and kiss the ass of those that want to control others.
I thank you Bob for your comments. I respect your opinion and it made me think. Have a great day Bob

Does this make me dangerous that my compulsion to collect weapons and talk too radical sites is no longer a desire? We look at our constitution and it tells us to abolish those that violate the people’s rights after all avenues to stop the domination fail. The Supreme Law above all others directs us to do this. Killing others is a clear part of Revolution or war but is it a needed part of a civilized society? It is like Bob on the Veterans Today web site. Bob believes that silence and accepting government wrongs is the correct thing for a good citizen to do. Then there are the thousands of others that do not live the good life as Bob that need someone to speak up. In a civilized society is not communication the correct way to solve problems before a weapon that kills is needed. Bob is correct that money is allocated to help homeless veterans and no veteran by law can be denied medical care. Bob does not understand that my medical care was stopped. I now receive token medical care to demonstrate to the public a record. The VA is ordering me to take medication that is destroying my liver even after a VA doctor told me not to take the medication. Is it correct for the VA to have the right to kill veterans as long as it is for the good of the majority?
I have many times sent criminal complaints in writing to the VA and elected officials. One of my injuries is a head trauma. I have mental problems seeing things as you do. Most of my injuries come from fighting for this nation and these injuries are being used to silence my words. Bob says it is ok for the government to do this because I bring in on my self by speaking up. I came out of my comma as a U.S. Marine and learned that it was the people that had guaranteed rights. Now I learn that was wrong. Stay silent and let the enemy run over you. The contradictions and difficulties of living in this society or identifying if I am here or this is a dream and the benjo ditch is my home forever seems to be overwhelming me. I did thirty-one months overseas with (amnesia) no memory of ever living in the U.S. fighting for you.
I have met many great people working in the VA. These are the people that care. It only takes one bad apple to make life difficult. These are the leaders that pass of blame when it is revealed the warning signs they refused to answer because there job was more important than helping a person like the Army Major at Fort Hood.
It is people like Kat publisher of the Liberty site; the many great people like the VA workers that care and every U.S. citizen that make me believe violence in not the answer. How does a mentally deranged 100% service connected disabled Veteran tell others when the newspapers censor his words. Did I ever come home? Where do I go from here? Do I keep helping others; do I commit suicide only to fail again? How do you make the people understand I volunteer not to harm anyone but to make life better for all equally. Does all this make a U.S. Marine or me dangerous?

Sorry to hear of all your problems.
I truly hope you get better.
I have been reading a lot on Google about you from all the posts I found there. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=Peter+Macdonald+Sgt+USMC+Semper+fi&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
I just want to make things a little clear on what you said about the way I think.
They were all wrong.
Here copied and pasted them.
Bob says it is OK for the government to do this because I bring in on my self by speaking up.
NO,I DID NOT SAY THAT. You are twisting words around to suit you.
It is like Bob on the Veterans Today web site.
Bob believes that silence and accepting government wrongs is the correct thing for a good citizen to do.
Then there are the thousands of others that do not live the good life as Bob that need someone to speak up.
NO I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT AND DID NOT SAY SO.
I DID NOT SAY I LIVE A GOOD LIFE.
IT’S NOT BAD BUT I HURT EVERY DAY TOO.
Well I will close for now as I don’t want to fight over this with you.
I only wish the best for you in your fight to get well. God Speed.
Sincerely, Bob
Okay, well I have to get on this. First and foremost the VA Hospitals are all seperate entities, the ADM of each hospital runs their hospital as they want as long as it saves the government money. This results in big fat bonus checks for the higher up, dont believe it, CNN even reported it. The unsuspecting proud Veteran walks into a VA Hospital only to get substandard care by substandard workers. Please, no comments on how good you had it! Lucky you. The VA uses and purchases equipment that no one else would buy and use, why? to save money. Its all about money and greed and somehow “they” have to figure it out how to kill off the old time veterans. They have! Issue them a “health buddy” to help them manage their own chronic disease. My father was a soldier not a physician. He was promised “health care” for the rest of his life. Not some baby einstein toy that asks stupid questions. My father is now buried in Arlington, I know the SOB’s killed him. When he transmitted a bp of 88/57 it was not until 24 hours later that there was a response. He was already dead. He died in July of 2007 and to this day they have not taken the responsibility. I will not rest or ever give up. My father had the cheapest model going and no one can ever tell me they didn’t know. I have obtained a 44 page report on this machine HERE IS THE TRUTH! It is issued to end of life or high cost patients. So, watch out all you Veterans who believe the VA is the best, if they want to issue you this machine, REFUSE…now this is how Syracuse NY implements theirs. Other VA’s may be different. Ask questions you are an American Soldier and you have the right.
