Sent into Veterans Today via email from Bobbie Christian

So the Air Force personnel who have a conscience and are silently against the Iraq and Afgan wars are going to be forced to go. Karma, I guess. They made the choice to join, and their choice has consequences. Oh well, this will balance out the number of deaths and maiming.

Good column.

If you're gong to be in a combat zone, you ought to at least be able to use a weapon (rifle or machine gun at a minimum) efficiently in self defense or to augment other shooters.

If you're in service, except for temporary illnesses and conditions, you should be deployable.

If you're gong to be used outside of your AFSC or MOS, you should be trained for the new assignment.

The burden of war shouldn't be primarily on one or two branches of the military--especially if you're going to have an all volunteer military and not have a draft.
