atleast we can all agree that once these brave men and women return home, we owe them the opportunity to find good jobs and assist them in starting or resuming their careers.

Oh Ya by the way, if my being a vet and my military and civilian skills aren't enough to land me a job then telling him he can get a $2400.00 tax credit wont't make much difference and if it does then that company is in sad shape and you don't belong there anyways!

In my opinion, as soon as a hiring manager see's the word "Vet" on your resume he should put it on the "to be interviewed" stack. He should know one thing and one thing only, we once sat down and signed a contract that stated pretty much that for doing our job we were ready to die for our country and everybody that lives within our flag's colors! I still can't find a job after almost a year and I've even applied to security positions that would send me to Iraq to help guard our soldiers. How many non-vets are that eager and that disaplined and that sure of their abilities to perform under all conditions. I'm a Vietnam Era Vet before anything else!

I would say yes, you are correct. But I believe that it is a positive correlation - hiring veterans and saving money. There are many programs out there that offer tax breaks, funding for training, and other benefits to the employer for hiring veterans. Currently because the veteran, and even more-so the disabled, or injured veteran continues to be overlooked during the hiring process. This is so that the company is encouraged to take another look. See the possibilities for utilizing the strengths, not weaknesses of the veteran. The end result is the veteran is hired, possibly trained to obtain the skills necessary to compete for promotions and upgrades in salary, all while receiving military benefits such as the GI Bill, at a reduced cost for the company.

Please tell me that I am not the only person that has commented on Cpt Jones use of "cents" and not "sense". I may be stepping out on a limb when I say that it is my belief that he actually did this on purpose. Why? Well, perhaps he is telling employers that they could be saving money by hiring the former military peronnel due to the ten reasons he listed???? Does that sound feasible?
