Obama Commits to Service Equity for Gays and Lesbians
President Obama last night affirmed his commitment to seek a repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, saying, “This year, I will work with Congress and our military to finally repeal the law that denies gay Americans the right to serve the country they love because of who they are. It’s the right thing to do.” Did anyone in the service have a problem staying up at night worrying about another guy’s dick? Do gays and lesbians serving, equally, really bother anyone?
Abroad, America’s greatest source of strength has always been our ideals. The same is true at home. We find unity in our incredible diversity, drawing on the promise enshrined in our Constitution: the notion that we’re all created equal; that no matter who you are or what you look like, if you abide by the law you should be protected by it; if you adhere to our common values you should be treated no different than anyone else.
We must continually renew this promise. My administration has a Civil Rights Division that is once again prosecuting civil rights violations and employment discrimination. (Applause.) We finally strengthened our laws to protect against crimes driven by hate. (Applause.) This year, I will work with Congress and our military to finally repeal the law that denies gay Americans the right to serve the country they love because of who they are. (Applause.) It’s the right thing to do. (Applause.)

GAY’S IN THE MILITARY? STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!
JUST WHAT THE MILITARY NEEDS, A BUNCH OF QUEERS ON SHIPS. YOUR OUT OF YOUR MIND!
Mr. Wellman,
thank you for speaking your mind; most won’t
Two questions:
what exactly are you afraid of though? I don’t get it.
and what about liberty, equality and all that stuff politicins like to bullshit about? do these appy to gays as well? what’s your argument on this point?
I look at the big picture. The approval of gays in the military just brings the United States Armed Forces a step closer to moral deterioration. Where does equal opportunity end? We already have enough of this in all of the services but I go further. This also is an affront to married heterosexual couples with children.
How do you explain same sex unions in the military to children? With that truth?
The question is that truth wrong? For my family it is.
The US politicians created havoc to order and discipline when “women” were integrated as coed in the US Army. More problems have resulted by the implementation of this policy. During my 20 plus years I’ve personally witnessed soldiers arguing and fighting to get a date with female soldiers in their platoon. This included enlisted men and officers.
