In your piece I found practically nothing with which I disagreed and only a few things I would have expressed otherwise. Unfortunately your audience shows some of the weakness' out there. My feelings on Israel have come to be that it is like the shrimpy guy in the schoolground who has a bigger brother, a mean one, and uses that big brother to back up bullying, posturing and mistreatment of others. Yes, Israel needs to be reined in and the settlements at like the miners heading into the Black Hills... They have the money, the influence, the laws, the guns and the weight of standing practice. All we have is the heads. Like the fools we have thus far proven to be, we spend all our time with weighty questions about each others color of skin, sexual preferences or gender so that we don't have any influence whatsoever. We can't seem to concentrate longer than it takes to decide what television program to watch, some not even that long. As you point out in many more words, our problem is corruption. That is problem number one and it leads the pack by a long way. Only when we have begun to address corruption can we even start to think about moving forward. As long as we spend time trying to tell each other what to believe, who and how they should love, why they are lesser humans than we are and why women should be content with cracks in the ceiling the folks who are in charge remain there. And we are powerless to stop them. The free market is nonsense neither believed nor sought by the rulers. They want big government to serve their needs. Our needs are irrelevant but theirs are paramount. That's why the Republicans, the party of small government, actually grows the government. It's government they want! Like the bankruptcy reform which provided private industry with government collections and enforcement that we get to pay for, why they passed medicare reform that has made trillions for the pharmaceutical industry to name just one. There is a nice little video produced by CBS (yes, corporate) called "Under the Influence". I highly recommend it. Gordon will too if he takes a peek. We have got to concentrate on the relevant issues and quit being distracted by every loud noise that comes out of a talking head of either party. I am not interested in watching other people live, I am interested in how us regular folk survive, the people who built those stadiums, those video cameras.
