Derrick Crowe, Robert Greenwald and the Brave New Foundation team remind us that the military-industrial complex has a well-oiled message machine. Just look at their latest video: despite killing more civilians in Marjah, Afghanistan, than the insurgents, the Pentagon is furiously spinning Operation Moshtarak as a move to “protect the people.”
As Peace activist plan to rally in Chicago, LA, San Francisco, and Washington, DC grassroots groups that were instrumental in getting Democrats elected to Congress and the Obama campaign for President are now united in an effort to show that there is very little difference between Republicans and Democrats in the Congress or White House.

As Congress moves closer to this year’s fight on war funding, Rethink Afghanistan and other progressive grassroots organizations need all of us with them.

As a 1964 U.S.Army length of service miitary retiree who was BETRAYED along with 432,000 cohorts on future retired pay by the ;hanging of a decades old law regarding how retired pay would be paid in the future after we had given this deceitful, thankless and unforgiving nation the best years of our live I approach this controversial isue with greatly mixed emotions. Also, today, at age 87, I HAVE TO PAY ALL OF MY HEALTH CARE AND FOR MY WIFE OF OVER 61 YEARS.
