Marine Dad Must Pay Westboro Court Fees
* From Military.Com *
Albert Snyder got a bill for $16,500 on Friday — the latest result of his ongoing legal battle with the Westboro Baptist Church.
Church members are seeking to recoup costs from federal appeals court, which dismissed Snyder’s lawsuit
against them. Snyder’s lawyer, Sean Summers, said the court declared last week that Snyder was responsible for the costs.
Efforts to reach an official from Westboro Baptist Church were unsuccessful Monday.
Such mandated reimbursements are common after appellate court cases, Summers said.
When the U.S. Supreme Court hears Snyder’s case in the fall, its decision will ultimately make a big difference as to whether or not Snyder can eventually recoup that money, Summers said.
“It’s rubbing salt in an open wound,” Summers said.
The Topeka, Kan.-based Westboro Baptist Church, led by the Rev. Fred Phelps, preaches an anti-homosexual message. Members maintain that combat deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan are God’s retribution for America’s tolerance of gay men and lesbian women.
Church members have promoted that agenda with a series of intentionally provocative demonstrations outside funerals of servicemen and women who were killed in combat, during which they chant and hold signs bearing messages such as “Thank God For Dead Soldiers.”

Someone please tell me if Mr. Snyder has a legal fund I can contribute to. Both the judge and the church need to be hosed down cause they both have a stench to them.
Let’s try to track down Albert Snyder and we and every veterans’ site will run a link to the defense fund.
I met the Rev. Fred Phelps in Madison (WI) once and he as fracking nuts as you think.
I think this his attorney (follows); somebody take this and see if you can track down a defense fund:

[...] Marine Dad Must Pay Westboro Court Fees : Veterans Today [...]
This is the kind of judicial idiocy that makes people want government officials dragged into the streets and tarred and feathered. Too bad such means are no longer available to us in dealing with idiots like these justices. They deserve any and all negative treatment they get from any corner of society. How do we get these justces out of office so they can’t continue to make decisions so far removed from what the people of the country stand for? These bufoons should be removed from the bench immediately, but we have no way to do that as the jackasses have lifetime appointments. That is why Americans are distancing themselves from their government in greater and greater numbers. Covering Mr. Snyder’s legal fees is one thing, and quelching the complete morons in Phelp’s “church” is another, but it is all just part of a continuing ridiculous judicial cycle until these total jerks on the 4th circuit court are eliminated from public office completely.
“Liberty “IS” Freedom”
The court is wrong about the free speech rights of the Westboro Baptist Church because of perversions of the 1st Amendment by activist justices, IMO.
More specifically, Thomas Jefferson had clearly indicated that the Founders had made the 1st and 10th Amendments in part to reserve government power to regulate speech to the states, regardless that they prohibited such power altogether to the federal government.
“3. Resolved that it is true as a general principle and is also expressly declared by one of the amendments to the constitution that ‘the powers not delegated to the US. by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively or to the people’: and that no power over the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, or freedom of the press being delegated to the US. by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, all lawful powers respecting the same did of right remain, & were reserved, to the states or the people…” –Thomas Jefferson, Kentucky Resolutions, 1798. http://tinyurl.com/oozoo
The reason that the USSC wrongly applied the 1st A’s prohibition on federal government power to regulate free speech to the states is because they interpret (pervert) Sec. 1 of the 14th Amendment as doing so.
But problem with the USSC using Sec. 1 of the 14th A. as their excuse to apply the 1st A.’s prohibition on federal government power to regulate free speech to the states is this. John Bingham, the main author of Sec. 1 of the 14th Amendment, had officially clarified to his colleagues in the HoR that the 14th A. did not take away state powers. See for yourselves.
“The adoption of the proposed amendment will take from the States **no rights** (emphasis mine) that belong to the States.” –John Bingham, Appendix to the Congressional Globe http://tinyurl.com/2rfc5d
“**No right** (emphasis mine) reserved by the Constitution to the States should be impaired…” –John Bingham, Appendix to the Congressional Globe http://tinyurl.com/2qglzy
“Do gentlemen say that by so legislating we would strike down the rights of the State? God forbid. I believe our dual system of government essential to our national existance.” –John Bingham, Appendix to the Congressional Globe http://tinyurl.com/y3ne4n
The bottom line is that activist justices have perverted the Constitution so much that the states no longer understand their powers anymore, such as the power to reasonably regulate speech to insure things like undisturbed funerals.

This is just astonishing! I would suggest that a group be organized to keep track of Westboro Baptist. Whenever a member of this so-called church dies, protestors will converge upon their funerals and give them a taste of their own medicine.
we need an adress for veR derF splehP so that some one cand sen him a calling card
There are Some Really Good Ideas Here.
Thanks Bob for posting and directing how we can help.
There IS a website that tracks these people and their travel plans so that local community members can be alerted and help by being there and peacfully placing themselves outside in support of the mourning families and help shield them from the Phelps Clan.
Who are “They ?”

Thy path of choice has been agreed . All chose “FREEDOM”.
As the soldier son is laded to rest, “THEY” WHO HAVE RISEN, “Protest” in union, assert their fight against the original agreement of the People, attempting to change “FREEDOM”.
“IS” it not Freedom to, be buried in Peace ?
“IS” it not Freedom to, Live in Peace ?
“IS” it not Freedom to, “NOT BE HARASSED OR EXTORTED BY GOVERNMENT” ?
“WHO” are “THEY ?”
Each that chooses not to be self-sufficient, by choice.
Each who by choice, chooses to “INFRINGE” on “FREEDOM”.
As Uncles Cousins Fathers Sons Brothers and Friends,
Live the path of their choices, the only War IS the “WAR” against those
“Who have chosen to, INFRINGE FREEDOM”.
FREEDOM “IS”, the Life “I” have.
For some reason, Veterans Today does not want me words, to touch, your eyes. Could it be My inducement is to strong ?
