The facts confirm just the opposite. Those present at the meetings between Bush and Sharon confirm that Sharon warned Bush to stay out of Iraq as it would open the door to Iranian expansion. Sharon was right. Check the comments of Lawrence Wilkerson, Chief of Staff to then Secretary of State Powell. He was in the room when Sharon told Bush not to invade. Was Jeff Gates in the room?

As far as the Six Day War goes, it was a defensive war for Israel. The Egyptian-Syrian plan to destroy Israel in 1967 has been well documented. Also documented is the warning that Israel gave Jordan to stay out of the war. Check Michael Oren’s book Six Days of War. Yes, I know Oren is an Israeli Jew, but he does document his statements. Gates documents nothing, but he does have his prejudices. Even Arab historians say Oren’s book is the definitive history of that war.
