By all accounts, the recession is subsiding and important leading sectors of the ecomony are recovering after the biggest recession since 1930s yet, while the country recovers, Arizona may not. With 45 Million Latinos in the USA now alienated and affected by the State of Arizona’s new law calling for round-ups based on racial profiling, Arizona is now on the target list of major economic boycotts that could lead Arizona down an ugly road that political and community leaders there did NOT bank on when they decided to pull the trigger on this new legistlation.

On January 22, 1942 the Flint News Advertiser printed a coupon asking Mothers of serviceman to return the coupon after filling it out. The following February 1st 300 mothers met in the Durant Hotel, in Flint Michigan. Captain George H. Maines, who had conceived the idea for this group, acted as the chair of this first meeting. It was decided that after receiving 1000 responses from the ad to form a permanent organization.

“Green Zone” takes a look at an Iraq War in a way that seems to be unique in that we aree not the heroes, but the bamboozled. Created in the wake of the scandal in 2007 over serious shortcomings at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Warrior Transition Units were intended to be sheltering way stations where injured soldiers could recuperate and return to duty or gently process out of the Army. There are currently about 7,200 soldiers at 32 transition units across the Army, with about 465 soldiers at Fort Carson’s unit.

Only one minor detail has been overlooked: The spring lies in the heart of private land belonging to the inhabitants of the adjacent village, Nabi Saleh. The villagers, prevented from working the fields around the spring by the settlers’ threats – which are backed up by the army’s might – decided to launch a different, declaredly nonviolent struggle, through which they regularly attempt to return to the spring to reclaim their land. New Disability Benefits Could Soon Be Available to Vietnam Vets Parkersburg, WV – April 24, 2010 — According to attorney Jan Dils, Vietnam veterans who have developed diseases such as Parkinson’s Disease, B cell leukemia and ischemic heart disease should have an easier time obtaining disability benefits under a recently proposed change in veterans benefits. In March, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs published a proposed rule change that will add these three illnesses to the list of health problems presumed to be caused by exposure to Agent Orange and other herbicides.
