Gordon Duff: USS Liberty Remembrance Day, Forgotten, Suppressed, Silenced
AMERICA’S HIDDEN HOLIDAY, JUNE 8TH

This year, Americans, for the first time, celebrated USS Liberty Remembrance Day, June 8th, the 43rd anniversary. It wasn’t everyone, the heroism of the USS Liberty, one of the greatest stories of American naval history, has been suppressed. Captain William McGonagle, Medal of Honor winner for his actions that day, has been invisible, shoved in a closet and silenced for most of his life, a life now over. The survivors clamor for recognition, not out of vengeance or for personal gain but because USS Liberty Remembrance Day is important, as important as 9/11 or Memorial Day or even Veterans Day. We, the 27 million families of American veterans remember for a purpose, it tells of of where we have been, the mistakes we made and reminds us of the cost of protecting democracy, the sacrifices made to keep us free. USS Liberty Remembrance Day is a suppressed holiday, in some ways more than any other time of reflection and appreciation of our fighting men, forgetting has cost us dearly.
Did Americans really forget the USS Liberty? Blame me first. Until I got to know Phil Tourney, one of the USS Liberty survivors, I had a piece of a memory of an “accident” in the Mediterranean years ago. I had neither seen nor heard anything of it in decades. Then, as is so often the case when the facts are put before you, in this case overwhelmingly by statements from a Medal of Honor winning captain to crew members to Secretary of State Dean Rusk to George Ball, all saying the same thing, I felt embarrassed. I then called VT Editor, Jim Hanke, former Defense Attache to Israel. “Gordie, this has been a sore spot with our military for years.”
Back in 1967, an American ship was brutally attacked by Israel, a flagged US Navy ship. According to the captain, Medal of Honor winner George McGonagle:
“When the planes struck it was without provocation and certainly unexpected and they seemed to descend on us from all directions at the same time. Rockets and machine guns tore the ship, killed men on deck and we were defenseless. It appeared from the ferocity of the attack that the intent of the attackers was to sink, maybe they hoped to have no survivors so they would not be held accountable for the attack after it occurred.”
Israel said they though the USS Navy ship carried no flag and looked, to them, as though it was a 40 year old “tramp steamer” 1/3rd its size. The USS Liberty, a new $40 million ship, state of the art, was turned into $110,000 in scrap in hours, scrap covered with American blood, brains and guts strewn from one end of her decks to the other.
Israeli surveillance planes had been flying over the USS Liberty for hours and their radio traffic was intercepted. They knew it was an American ship, they knew its name and the flag they claimed wasn’t flying was clear as day. Crew member Stan White, Master Chief Petty Officer on the USS Liberty that day states as the attack began:
“I came out on deck. A plane came by, I looked right in the cockpit, I waved, he waved, we were that close they were…they knew who we were”
Secretary of State Dean Rusk gives his view of what happened that day:
“I never, myself, accepted the Israeli explanation. Accidents don’t occur through repeated attacks by surface vessels and aircraft. It was obviously a decision that was taken on pretty high up in the Israeli side because it involved combined forces. The ship was flying an American flag. Even if it had been unidentified it still would have been a reckless thing to do, suppose it had been a Soviet ship? That could have produced very large problems indeed.”
However, Undersecretary of State, George Ball, makes the most telling statement of all. His assessment is why Americans need to be told, despite the total news blackout on this incident, despite the cover-up by the US Navy, one that no longer is credible. The old lie died years ago but the old threat exists now more than ever before as has been shown time and time again in recent years and recent weeks. The words of George Ball:
“The ultimate lesson of the Liberty attack had far more effect on policy in Israel than America. Official charges were filed, not only against the State of Israel but against the United States Navy as well. These were the charges filed in 2005, charges yet unanswered for the following crimes:
- The jamming of our radios on both US Navy tactical and international maritime distress frequencies;
- The use of unmarked aircraft by the forces attacking the USS Liberty;
- The deliberate machine gunning of life rafts we had dropped over the side in anticipation of abandoning ship; and
- The recall of two flights of rescue aircraft that had been launched from Sixth Fleet aircraft carriers. After those flights were recalled, Sixth Fleet personnel listened to our calls for help as the attack continued knowing they were forbidden to come to our assistance.
Since the 1790s, the primary role of the United States Navy has been to maintain freedom of the seas and rights of navigation, especially in the Mediterranean. This is why the Navy was established. The USS Liberty incident was a failure of the United States in so many ways. It told, not only Israel but the world that political corruption, international plots and money is more important than the lives of our men and women in uniform or our national honor.
Then, a foreign government wanted 300 Americans dead because they were “in the way.” Sometimes we prosecute our own troops out of political pressure, we have seen Marines defending themselves in Iraq jailed, Navy Seals prosecuted for doing their jobs, all the while our “congress critters” and the ‘Perfumed Princes of the Pentagon” forget why we pay their salaries, forget who they work for.
We remember our sacrifices, Pearl Harbor, Vietnam, Omaha Beach, Chosen Reservoir, Bataan, Gettysburg, Belleau Wood and so many others for a reason. We don’t just erase one because it is inconvenient to a TV network or bunch of big political contributors. We either honor all or none. We either have honor or none.

The Liberty survivors should be vengeful. It is the proper emotional response for what was done to them and the way they were treated subsequently.
Similarly, all normal American citizens who are not retarded should have a similar thirst for revenge in their hearts for the execution of John F Kennedy and 911.
Given what has happened it is the normal human emotion.

I would be very careful prescribing revenge for things done in the past by vile thinking governments, wherever they may be…..including ours as it does not have a spotless record in regards to our treatment of others both in and out of this country. We should also remember that this cover-up was not possible with the complicity of our President and many others in the government. I think we should always remember incidents such as the Attack on the Liberty and the subsequent cover-up and lies when we choose to deal with or choose to not deal with other countries, This caution should also apply when we choose our own leaders

In my previous post I forgot to mention that I have for some years now have contacted news agencies both locally and across the nation and have reminded them of the gross under coverage of this incident and asked them to change this and remind the American people of tragic nature of this criminal act. None have even acknowledged my request let alone act on it. The complicity in the cover up continues to this day after 43 years. Who has such control over our media that ALL RESPECTED media outlets remain mum, year after year?

I have provided my 911/Mossad information to some prominent journalists and I have gotten back responses that state if they write about the Mossad masterminding the 911 attacks their career will be over due to the power of the Jewish Zionists.
A notable journalist that has been published by numerous popular magazines had asked me to write a chapter about the Mossad/911 connection for a book he was writing regarding Israel spying operations in the United States. Recently I received an email from him stating that in order to keep his journalist career going he has to stop writing about Israel. Even this courageous journalist has been intimidated by the elite Jewish Zionists.
He is not a “courageous” journalist. If he doesn’t do his job than how is he courageous?. Sounds like he is not a journalist either.

Wow! Perhaps I should of said he was formerly a courageous journalist. However, he does has to make a living and a book about Israeli spying that includes a chapter about the Mossad/911 connection would probably not make it to the bookstores due to the Jewish Zionists controlling the publishing industry. It would probably have to be sold on the Internet and it wouldn’t sell a lot of copies.

There are hundreds if not thousands of socalled “journalists”, “scholars”, “professors” and “experts” of all sorts “earning a living” writing “books” for the Mossad in America and elsewhere and have no trouble getting them published with a huge amount of publicity (free advertising) while real scholars like Eustace Mullins had to give their work away for free on the internet.

It is interesting that the current Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, who has been recently justifying the assault on the Gaza relief flotilla in none other than American born and raised Israeli immigrant, Michael Oren. Oren, with a Ph.D. in Middle East studies from Princeton, is the author of the 2002 book, “Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East.” Considering what he has to say about the USS Liberty incident in that book, it is quite unlikely that we will get anything resembling the truth from him with regard to the flotilla attack. The following is from Norman Finkelstein’s review of the book:
Oren’s account of events attendant on the June war frequently descends to vulgar propaganda. Deeming the Israeli combined air and naval assault on the U.S.S. Liberty, in which 34 U.S. Navy men were killed and 171 wounded, an “accident” and an “incident [of] faulty identifications,” Oren rehashes official Israeli tales and embellishes on them with his own whoppers. I remember my now departed older brother Wayne (USMC 66-72) who just happened to be an Admirals aide at Norfolk being really pissed, but quiet on it all. He was found in 2004 with his head blown open from his 9mm in Florida. He told me something about a US sub that had disappeared off the east coast, but I don’t recall much.
Perhaps in time the truth will be announced regarding the Liberty, an honorable crew simply told fuck you.

Till a year and few months ago I was one who believed America’s wars against other countries were legitimate and was necessary “to keep America safe”. I was a strong supporter of George W Bush and a supporter of Israel [Holy Land where Jesus Christ was born was important to me personally] and “the only democracy in the Middle East and our ally and greatest friend” which was pounded into my head by the false propaganda artists on Zionist controlled Fox channel and conservative and Christian radio, all of which I have since abandoned– to be free again. I then came upon videos of Edward G Griffin when he was much younger [these are among the true patriots all Americans can be really proud of] where he was trying to wake up Americans about many dangers we were facing as a nation—which have gotten progressively worse ending up in the present nightmare because most Americans were bombarded with false news by scam artists [Fox, CBC, NBC, ABC, CNN, NY Times etc who were dishing out disinformation and lies, radio hosts hammering the airwaves 24 hours a day selling us the wars etc]– and did not wake up sooner.
Both political parties since [the murder of President Kennedy have worked for some foreign boss–and we have been lied to all along–and what we have had for decades is a shadow government and I gained more knowledge about the Military Industrial Complex and the racket called war that Gordon himself referred to in the aforementioned article.

Instead of getting mesmerized with movie stars, politicians and radio talk hosts who are selling us the war 24 hours of the day we need to examine the truth of what Israel is doing to America’s soverignty as a nation–and the damsge it does to America’s relationship with other countries because of our politicians who cover up Israel’s crimes against the world and against America and Americans as we recently saw in the case of athe murder of a US citizen–and the fact that israel continues to get rewarded from America and Europe with billions of dollars. I totally agree. Israel should be suspended from membership in the UN and sactions should be imposed on Israel like Dr Sabrosky suggested. He also came out and courageously told the world: “Israel did 9/11 and thank you. More people need to join courageous people like him, Gordon Duff, Jeff Gates and former congresswoman Cynthia McKinney–to inform and educate others specially our precious soldiers and veterans–and empower them to take a stand against illegal wars for Israel orchestrated by Zionist Jews–for no benefit to America. How many times have we heard these words spoken by US public officials and media talking heads? It seems the more it is said the more we should believe it. This reminds me of the Nazi dictum of ‘telling the big lie ad infinitum until people believe it.’

In his article “Criminal Intent” Dealing with the Flotilla War Crimes” Gordon Duff talks about “nature of justice in this world”. He exposes people who have provided cover for the latest crime–a must read by all USS Liberty veterans, their families and the families of those who were killed by israelis on 6/8/1967 as well as other veterans, our soldiers living in the US and stationed abroad.
Gordon Duff’s aforementioned fantastic article informs the audience about the cover up of Israeli crimes and those who are involved in the couer up. He has touched the history of crime dating back to 1940′s even before the state of Israel came into being–how news writers, directors, producers, their staff and those who own the outlets along with their front men/women [Wolf Blitzer, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh et al through a well calculated and coordinated effort deceive the world to protect Israel–and many other interesting aspects of crime such as part played by the politicians who have enabled the criminal state in the cover up. This is one of the best he has written and it is time that we all stand against Israel for its crimes on humanity recent and past and demand justice. I thank Gordon Duff on behalf of all those who are suffering and who have suffered due to Israel’s criminal past that has continued unabetted and I condemn all people who lie to deliberately deceive the public that no doubt gives Israel credibility and protection it does not deserve–thereby increasing the risk of the world’s citizens to be victims of future crime Israel is quite capable of perpetrating.
More and more people everyday are learning about the massacre of US sailors by our foremost enemy Israel and we demand that Israel’s bombing of USS Liberty be investigated and families of the dead sailors and the survivors receive long overdue justice! We also must be vigilant about which other ways they have been [and are being] harmed and expose the corruption behind various incidents which we hear so often to understand who are behind.
It is disheartening to learn about the hurdles our veterans have to go through–when they finally come home alive after putting themselves through such trauma–which many people cannot even imagine to go through. The gutless and deceitful politicians and bureaucrats mistreat them by robbing their benefits–after agreeing to pay them–at the time of signing the contracts. Who are these people who want to see our veterans being cheated and whose vote the deceitful politicians are seeking? We as a society should be generous to our veterans [and even police and fire fighters] who have sacrificed the most[specially combat veterans] and should demand that their wages and other benefits be not compromised under any circumstances.
Politicians, bureaucrats, college and university presidents and professors, head masters of private high-schools and other similar professionals should be made to give up some of what they are having–for these people are overpaid–and the society will be better off without them–and most of these people actually have been harmful to our society. Here are some examples” Woodrow Wilson, Ben Bernanke, Robert Gates, Larry Summers, Caas Sunstein, Zbignew Brzezinski [a very devious and dangerous man with a complicated name[, Newt Gingrich, Condolezza Rice. These people have been university professors and administartors. Imagine the world if these people were garbage collectors instead of having had their degrees! Our world would have been much better. A dangerous man/woman become more dangerous to the society when they receive a degree which gives them more power.
Most of the people who have gotten together to destroy our constitution or deceive us through scams like global warming are similar people. Presidents of all Ivy Leagues are over paid and these people are sociopaths whether it be Yale, Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, Brown, Harvard [where Larry Summers was]. The people who have given the most [veterans] are given the least, robbed the most and harmed the most.
It is up to the people of this nation to stand up for what is right and demand that society’s sociopaths be observed and their activities monitored by people who fund them even if they are hiding behind universities, air-condition officers in various government buildings, in congressional offices in the capital, white house or other high places–and we tell them in simple easy to understand language that veterans are not pawns to exchange for votes and that the contracts they have signed must be honored, their lands must not be stolen etc and not to forget those who are fighting wars for Israel. Yes all troops must come home and no more opium business, their remains not be contaminated with opium in the body bags or not be mislabeled and misplaced either because the criminals involved in this horror [and others] did not care about them whether they came home alive or dead. And it is time to mind our own business, stop policying the world–stop aid to Israel–and take care of our own–and first and foremost the people who were willing to give their lives–on behalf of America–although they were deceived to believe so–when they were so young–and so many of them were killed, maimed or injured mentally and physically or both.
