GORDON DUFF: ISRAEL-SAUDI WAR PACT ON IRAN “HOGWASH”

LONDON TIMES STORY OUTLINING NUKE ATTACK ON IRAN CITED
AS ISRAELI DECEPTION TO MANIPULATE U.S. STOCK MARKET
By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor
The London Times reported today that Saudi Arabia has given permission for Israel to fly over their territory to attack unspecified “nuclear facilities” in Iran. Mention of specific Saudi actions including deactivating their air defense systems to allow Israel use of their airspace was directly referenced by the Times in their story by Hugh Tomlinson. However, not only is such a possibility not a possibility, the story itself is designed to destabilize world markets.
Iran is capable of closing the Straits of Hormuz and stopping all oil shipments from, not only the Persian Gulf states, including Kuwait and Iran but Saudi Arabia itself. At the first sight of an Israeli plane, every tanker and oil facility in the Gulf would be destroyed and the Saudi capital in ruins from Iranian missiles.
The closing of the Straits alone would crash the world’s stock markets instantly throwing the world into an immediate depression. Oil would go over $250 a barrel overnight and gas prices in the US would hit $10 per gallon. This is not speculation.
Iran’s military capability has been focused entirely on closing the Straits and cutting off much of the world’s oil supply. Thousands of Chinese Silkworm missiles are at the ready, set into the islands of the Straits seized by Iran years ago or hidden along the coastline or on mobile launchers. In fact, the US Navy is would have to immediately withdraw from the region.
Every defense specialist in the world knows all of this. The United Arab Emirates sits across the Straits from Iran and stares into this mass of missiles, torpedo boats and submarines. They are funding a massive missile defense system and have even considered spending billions to construct a canal bypassing the narrow straits. Iranian troops have been dug into islands adjacent to the Straits for decades. When talking about the Straits of Hormuz, the term “tight as a tick” comes to mind. “Duck in a barrel” is another analogy with us being the ducks.
The game isn’t to start a war, knowing full well that America would be required to defend Saudi Arabia though there are no agreements to defend Israel, especially if they are the aggressor. With over $2 trillion dollars pumped from the US economy by Israeli-American companies like Goldman Sachs during the Bush sponsored “pump and dump,” the “banksters” weren’t satisfied. They now want to pick America’s bones.
Any attack on Iran that involved Saudi Arabia in any way would bring an automatic response from Pakistan. Without their military efforts, the US would be forced to withdraw from Afghanistan in weeks. Even with their help, and increased force levels, America’s presence is unsustainable as the Karzai government has already collapsed. Nobody is admitting it yet but Karzai and his US backers rule nothing and control nothing, even worse than when Bush left office.
The real players in the Middle East are Turkey, Iran and Pakistan. Two of these nations are major US allies. The population of the three nations exceeds that of the US and their combined armies number, with reserves at two million, over double that of the United States. Were the three to join together, Afghanistan and Iraq would be forced, out of survival to join in, creating a contiguous state, a nuclear state, capable of taking Saudi Arabia in days and doing so without any US resistance. After all, these are American allies and Saudi Arabia would be, technically, an aggressor nation. Though mutual defense pacts do not include Iran, a history of resentment against Saudi-Israeli collusion and the current chill between Israel and Turkey would build this polyglot coalition state almost overnight.
In the long run, such a country would be the real strategic partner the US has always desired, with a single nuclear arsenal under Pakistani control and Iranian issues eliminated as they would be the junior power in a coalition with decades of ties to the US. If any of this seems difficult to grasp, position papers outlining this exact situation have been around for years.
Given the chance, Israel would join this group of states. Those familiar with private “back channel” diplomatic initiatives know that this has is considered. Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan all maintain a covert level of cordial relations with Israel, relations poisoned by the Gaza crisis.
Israel’s aggressive stance toward apartheid expansionism, fueled by the hubris supplied by American hegemony in the region is only one of the considerations needed in evaluating the dynamic in the region. The humiliation Turkey suffered, despite the fact Turkey’s powerful military has always worked closely with Israel, threatens to destabilize their civilian government and add to Islamic militancy there.
Iraq is going through a rough period after recent elections. They are expect to ask the US to keep troops in place in significant numbers well past the agreed upon date of withdrawal.
Iran, a country whose civil government is extremely unpopular with its own people, maintains stability through police state tactics rivaling those of the Shah’s Savak and punishes its own population by maintaining status as a rogue state, a virtual pariah nation, as a way of clamping down on dissent.
Afghanistan is in total collapse. Along with the Taliban, a number of additional divides with the nation have occurred and the new national army and police force are total failures. An informal defacto government is now ruling increasing areas of the country and may be able to build stability if certified by the royal families. President Karzai is trying to work closely with Pakistan, a major policy change for him, out of a combination of necessity and panic. However, Karzai has burned too many bridges to be able to bring cordial relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, nations with a history of rivalry and some acrimony.
Pakistan may be the key to the puzzle. Pakistan’s unsteady democracy has been ineffective but current military leadership in Pakistan is highly competent, very pro-US and moderate. The primary problems are Pakistan’s economy, nearing total collapse and the instability of terrorism that has pushed Pakistan to the edge. Pakistan’s desire is to underwrite economic growth but has no oil resources for such as task. Without the ability to overcome internal corruption and address the root causes of extremism in the tribal areas along the border with Afghanistan, Pakistan faces destabilization. Membership in a coalition state would address some of these problems. Occupation of Saudi Arabia under an “Islamic Protectorate” necessitated by Israeli incursions into Saudi airspace would solve all of Pakistan’s problems.
The media can be a powerful thing. When a story, such as the one in the London Times, could jolt markets or push nations to irational acts, a poor understanding of regional conditions and history could have quite another effect, one entirely unexpected.

Gordon,
It comes as no surprise that the reality behind the facade of animosity between US/Israel and the Arab/Persian/Muslim states in the region is one of backroom diplomacy and mutually profitable war posturing. No surprise, at least, to those who like yourself have spent sufficient time abroad working in fields of Internat’l relations and/or global defense policy, as have I.
After all, as the saying goes, “it is NOT what a thing is, but what it APPEARS to be”.
Appearances keep the budgetary appropriations flowing into the coffers of the great beast that is the MIC (and thereby, the blood flowing out of the misinformed and distracted masses they use as tin soldiers).
Official Saudi response to this Times Online allegation (which isn’t the first time they have reported this)

053 Official source at the Foreign Ministry makes statement
Riyadh, Jun 12, SPA — An official source at the Foreign Ministry told Saudi Press Agency the following:
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia followed some British media’s allegations based on slander and false accusation that it will allow Israel to launch an attack on Iran through its territory.
The source stated that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reiterates its position of firm opposition and rejection of the violation of its sovereignty and the use of its airspace or territory by anyone to attack any country and it is more appropriate that Saudi Arabia should apply this policy to the authority of the Israeli occupation with which it has no relationship in any way.

All this is extremely possible Gordon. Turkey down and out since the end of WW 1 is a sleeping giant with strong linguistic and cultural ties to all the area, from China to the Mediterranean.
What I find very sad is many thinkers in the US could care less about it because it is self absorbed in “End of Times” politics with Israel.
Thanks.. Well written too!

I don’t doubt that the story is bogus and designed to destabilize world markets, but
in going beyond that, I have to say, don’t forget: we’re not dealing with rational “people” here. They’re delusional. They’re criminally insane. They’ve proven this time and again.
IMO, they didn’t do 9/11 just to stop, of their own volition. Frankly they don’t care about the price of gas or the world economy. If Iran fights back effectively, they will threaten it with nukes, and they’re probably prepared to use them.
That’s why they need to neuter Pakistan. They’re afraid that if/when they nuke Iran, they may be nuked in return.
Don’t underestimate the depravity at work here.
In regard to these crazy Arabs or Muslims. In my opinion nations could care less about war, as long it does not bother them, and their economy, and their wealth. If your country is not suffering from the ravages of war then war is acceptable.
If you are an Iraqi or anyone living even in Grenada in the Caribbean you might think Americans and off their nut about war. Americans I am sure seem as crazy as Islamic terrorists in Iraq or Afghanistan if your wife and children were killed by collateral damage.
In Grenada there were only invading Americans. Not one Muslim terrorist for thousands of miles. It took the US government a long time and a lot of bombing to build large groups of Islamic terrorists.
go.com is pushing same story.
[...] on June 12, 2010 …oh and state that Jews “run” the U.S. economy. That’s “patriotism” for ya. Really sounds like this piece could have been written by a white [...]
While Duff’s analysis has a certain logic and force and a reasonable person would conclude Saudi Arabia would not, given the risk, surrender its airspace to Israel for an attack on Iran, we must remember ‘reason’ hath taken flight from this world and we are ruled by lunatics.
Over-analysis,IMHO.
The fact is that the right-wing crazies have control in Israel and hey feel that events are overtaking them. Plus, they doubt Obama’s commitment to them and the ‘strategic asset’ they’ve portayed themselves to be. Do nothing, and time and events will overtake them.
Combine self-induced paranoia, hubris, arrogant irrationality and a ‘Sampson complex’ and what do you get? A sudden pre-emptive strike on Iran to force the U.S.’s hand.
These guys don’t need ‘fabricated’ stories in the London Times (itself, a careful journal of events with long experience in fact-checking) to ‘move the markets’ – they’ve got Goldman Sachs and the Plunge Protection Team for that.
I think the stories real – they can’t get there through Iraqi air space now, so Saudi Arabia make perfect sense.
A nice piece of preventative publishing, IMHO, and – given the Times’ “establishment” links to MI6 – I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the story wasn’t real, sourced there, and floated deliberately because the British simply don’t want their own substantial investment in the region damaged by yet another Israeli/American war.
While one would certainly hope this news item is hogwash designed to destabilize markets, it would not be the first time that Israel and Saudi Arabia co-operated in this manner. In June of 1981 when the Israeli Air Force struck the Osirak nuclear facility in Iraq, the Saudi air defense radar at Tabuk in Northwest Saudi Arabia just happened to be most conveniently off the air for an 8 hour maintenance routine. On the return route aerial refueling was conducted in Saudi airspace. This was reported by Saudi Border Police. There were Air Defense personnel in the Tabuk radar approach control facility during the maintenance period and they reported a few radar hits over the Saudi-Jordanian border station at al-Mudawara. The senior Saudi Air Force officers at Tabuk thought Iraq had attacked Israel. The Pakistan Air Force officers (all Punjabis but one, by the way) on secondment to the Royal Saudi Air Force were remarkably silent. Finally news reports from Europe revealed what had happened. The Israelis have always denied using US supplied smart bombs but they nonetheless unerringly struck their target.
If they did it once, they might be willing to do it again. I’m not sure that rational or logical contemplation of the possible consequences would dissuade either the Israelis or the Saudis. As you have so clearly pointed out, the Iranians, for all their problems, could close the Straits of Hormuz. They could also probably capture or destroy all Saudi oil facilities on the Gulf. Maybe that thought will temper Saudi enthusiasm for an attack on Iran-by someone else of course.
You’re dealing with paranoia, arrogance and irrationality here. Let’s not over-analyze emotions as though they were cool and objective intellectual calculations.
The fact of the matter is that the Israelis think they can get away with whatever they want. Now the global public is at least conditioned to the probability of an Israeli attack on Iran, and that’s half-the-battle right there.
With an air assault (probably including nuclear-tipped bunker-busters) and at least one Israeli nuclear-armed submarine lurking in the Gulf, they can do all the first strike damage they want while using the controlled American media to squeal for protect for ‘gallant little Israel’ from any Iranian retribution – in essence, going over Obarmie’s head and appealing directly to the great brainwashed American public.
The Saudis and Israelis have been conniving on this for some time. Don’t write this story off too easily!

Saudis give nod to Israeli raid on Iran
by Uzi Mahnaimi in Tel Aviv and Sarah Baxter
The head of Mossad, Israel’s overseas intelligence service, has assured Benjamin Netanyahu, its prime minister, that Saudi Arabia would turn a blind eye to Israeli jets flying over the kingdom during any future raid on Iran’s nuclear sites.
Earlier this year Meir Dagan, Mossad’s director since 2002, held secret talks with Saudi officials to discuss the possibility.
The Israeli press has already carried unconfirmed reports that high-ranking officials, including Ehud Olmert, the former prime minister, held meetings with Saudi colleagues. The reports were denied by Saudi officials.
“The Saudis have tacitly agreed to the Israeli air force flying through their airspace on a mission which is supposed to be in the common interests of both Israel and Saudi Arabia,” a diplomatic source said last week.
Although the countries have no formal diplomatic relations, an Israeli defence source confirmed that Mossad maintained “working relations” with the Saudis.
John Bolton, the former US ambassador to the United Nations who recently visited the Gulf, said it was “entirely logical” for the Israelis to use Saudi airspace.
Bolton, who has talked to several Arab leaders, added: “None of them would say anything about it publicly but they would certainly acquiesce in an overflight if the Israelis didn’t trumpet it as a big success.”
Arab states would condemn a raid when they spoke at the UN but would be privately relieved to see the threat of an Iranian bomb removed, he said.
Referring to the Israeli attack on an alleged Syrian nuclear facility in 2007, Bolton added: “To this day, the Israelis haven’t admitted the specifics but there’s one less nuclear facility in Syria . . .”
Recent developments have underscored concerns among moderate Sunni Arab states about the stability of the repressive Shi’ite regime in Tehran and have increased fears that it may emerge as a belligerent nuclear power.
“The Saudis are very concerned about an Iranian nuclear bomb, even more than the Israelis,” said a former head of research in Israeli intelligence.
The Israeli air force has been training for a possible attack on Iran’s nuclear site at Natanz in the centre of the country and other locations for four years.
Saudi Arabia: We will not give Israel air corridor for Iran strike

Gordon Duff…RIGHT AGAIN!!!
The Zio-flunkies being kept in power in Saudi Arabia will do anything Israel asks.
If the overflights happen, the MSM will put out some BS lie about Saudi indignation about being used by ‘Zionist’ warmongers, but that will only be a story to appease their restless citizens.
Gordon – I for one, will never under-estimate the US-Israel-Saudi evil collaboration. The Saudi royal’s who trace their roots back to an Iraqi Jewish family – had just fought a US-Israel proxy war in Yemen which was openly supported by “Mr. Israel”, Senator Joe Liberman.

Rehmat thank you for the link, yes Al-Qaeda made in Israel. I agree. 95% of world’s terrorism is manufactured by Mossad/Ashkenazi run CIA in Israel/US. Is Lieberman a Mossad asset and Palin a CIA asset? They appear to be good agents to be used for suicide bombing attacks. All explosions and other crimes they say were done by Muslims were orchestrated by Mossad/Ashkenazi run CIA to continue the opium trade and ethnic cleansing of Arabs, blacks and Asians.
“AlQaeda made in Israel”? That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in a while.
Since you like conspiracy theories, let me share one about Al-Qaeda. MI-6 created the Muslim Brotherhood. The 1929 Hebron massacre was not perpetrated by Muslim radicals, but rather British agent provocateurs whose job was to start a war between local Jews & Arabs, which they succeeded in doing. Al-Qaeda is the Muslim Brotherhood — FYI.
“Mossad/Ashkenazi run CIA” LOL, I think you just topped your first joke.
Jake,
You could credit the Muslim Brotherhood for founding islamic extrmism in its latest form but the DOJ founded Al Qaeda to cover…a failed operation in Kenya, perhaps anyway. The branding of Al Qaeda is only marginally tied, through wild conjecture, to people once associated with the Muslim Brotherhood.
If you are looking for something, you will find it. We were looking.
g
Amy – Yes both Lieberman and Palin are Israeli assets. Palin appeared at the Tea Party wearing Israeli flag and urged Ben Obama to attack Iran.

Great work, again, Gordon,
After falling for the ruse by my government and “the News” about that “Hearts and Minds” scam, 40+ years ago; I decided to see , for myself, if the drumbeat of “Evil Muslims” vs “Poor, Innocent Israel” was a scam too.
Guess What?
I simply went there to find out for myself (1973). After enjoying nothing but unconditional kindness and hospitality from “Those Evil Muslim Terrorists”, traveling with the Bedouin, working in a squalid Palestinian Relief Camp (“Survivors” of ongoing Holocaust ll) etc for 10-11 months (Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey etc),
I learned that, surprise, Americans are being effectively and professionally lied to AGAIN and falling for it completely;
Brains washed, dried, folded and put away complete with “Evil Muslim Terrorist” chant.
The only Muslim Terrorists are, I regretfully say, justifiably angry from what the U.S. has DONE to them but mainly its Unholy Alliance with America’s most insidious, malevolent and deadly “Ally”, Genocidal & Naziesque Zionist run Israel.
I spend hours a day spreading the facts from this and other sites, honest Regional Histories and all that is anathema to America’s Ziono Media.
America’s dedicated and loyal Jewish community is right in there with us so it’s not a Jew vs non Jew issue.
There is no greater repository for Hate, Propaganda and Parasitic fanaticism than from America’s infestation of Traitorous, Zionist, Hasbara Trained “Liars for Hire”than internet Forums etc.
In addition to writing , calling, petitioning etc, please weigh in at “Topix”:
http://www.topix.com/world/israel
…..for a good look at Israel’s Army of Zionist Propagandists who blatantly revile America’s Veterans and citizens who dare to put America first.
Remember, these “Dual”citizens vote, organize against America’s interests and are dedicated to soaking Iranian soil with American blood.
AIPAC, JINSA and the 100+ like purposed lobbies along with their traitorous “Liars for Hire” have Created this formerly unknown Islamic Resentment and are not above killing MORE Americans to engender more misplaced U.S. Resentment.
Best wishes against our REAL enemy,
Gray
The London Times printed the claim, any idea of the sources??????
They claimed they got the info from US sources.
g
Gordon !! The Saudi Arabia is so much dependent on US that the US could say whatever on behalf of Saudi Arabia and the Saudis will NOT dare to deny that. What happened in 1981 when Israel destroyed Iraqi nuclear installations overflying, and also refueling, over Saudi air space, over Dhahran. When Saudis were asked as why Israeli aircraft were not checked/intercepted, the Saudis replied that their Radars had been closed for maintenance purposes, as per routine.
The (Radar) towers, looking after Dhahran Air space, were being manned by Americans who could be 100% (American) Jews as religion is NOT mentioned on the passports. So the history could be repeated.
Sajid,
When Iran was there, you could kick Iraq in the ass. Now that Iraq is broken, Iran is totally free to squash Saudi Arabia. Iran was with Israel on that. Iran has always been with Israel. Something rotten going on here.
g
Gordon,
You may be right as I have also been hearing it from some other sources.
There seems to be some sort of “Drama” going on.Thanks
Rgds
Sajid
It’s a simple question that people dont ask, where were the so called Jihadis and suicide bombers before US invaded Iraq, Aghannistan and Pakistan??? Why all of a sudden right after the invasion of US suicide bombers and jihadis have come alive??? among the fanatics, the biggest fanatic nations in middle-east are Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar yet you dont see suicide bombing but instead US kissing shaikh’s ass and the most democratic nations were or are, Iraq, Pakistan, lebenon, etc yet US call them terrorist and invades them!
Much in the way we see mainstream pundits in the US decrying the tyranny of Iranian mullahs and calling for support of “democratic” movements in that country, ignoring completely the fact that our own CIA subverted and destroyed Iran’s democratically elected government under Mossedegh in the 50′s (as it subsequently did in Chile with the removal of Allende) in order to institute a more “oil friendly” despotic Shah.
Such inconvenient facts only get in the way of good diatribe.
Penumbra…!!! Probably you missed to add Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the first democratically elected Prime Minister of Pakistan, ousted by US-CIA, through army Gen. Ziaul Haq as Bhutto was adamant to go for nuclear for peaceful purposes and to make ‘balance of power’ in the sub-continent as India, the arch rival of Pakistan, had already done it in Oct, 1974.
Kissinger had threatened Bhutto in Aug, 1976 at Lahore that if he did not withdraw from nuclear he will be made a horrible example. How Kissinger could have threatened to a sitting popular Prime Minister with so much confidence, simple the US/CIA had bought the generals, as said.
And this is the hypocrisy of USA and of the west, as well, that on the one USA and the west call for “Democracy” and “Human Rights” to prevail but, on the other, US-CIA gets overthrow the democratically elected governments if the (democratically elected) governments do not tow US dictated policies, whereas the West, the champions and flag carriers of democracy remains quiet.
Bhutto was killed by Britain, not the US (although I admit its hard to tell the difference these days)
Good points Faiz, they do not have any reply to it.
Professor Virginia Tilley, almost four years ago wrote that US generals are rightly alarmed that bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities would unleash unprecedented attacks on US occupation forces in Iraq, as well as American military bases in in the Gulf. “Iran could block the Straits of Hormuz, which carries 40 percent of world’s oil. Spin-off terrorist (resistance) militancy would skyrocket. The potential damage to international security and world economy would be unfathomably dangerous. The Bush administration’s neocons (mostly Jews) seem capable of any insanity, so none of this matter to them. But even the neocons must be taking pause since Israel failed to knock out Hizbullah (during 34-day war in 2006) using the same onslaught from air planned for Iran. But Israel can attack Iran, and this may be the plan. Teaming up, the two countries could compensate for each others’ strategic limitations. The US has been contributing its superpower clout in the Security Council, setting the stage for sanctions, knowing Iran will not yield on its enrichment program. Having cultivated a (mistaken) international belief that Iran is threatening a direct attack on Israel, the Israeli government could then claim the right of self-defense in taking unilateral pre-emptive action to destroy the nuclear capacity of a state declared in breach of UN directives. Direct retaliations against Israel are impossible because Israel is a nuclear power (an Iran is not) and because of the US security umbrella would protect Israel….
Former Senator from Alaska, Maurice Robert (Mike) Gravel (1969-81) in an interview with the Philadelphia Jewish Voice in 2007 – was asked: “You criticized Senator Obama for not taking military option off the table regarding Iran. what should Israel do if Iran looks like it has or will acquire a nuclear weapon?”
Mike Gravel replied: “Should do nothing. Should do nothing. My God, it’s none of their business if Iran has a nuclear weapon….Scientists tell us that they would not have it for five to ten years. But they’re so affraid of us, with our stupid statements about axis of evil”. For such ‘political wrong’ views, Mike was never invited by AIPAC and did not receive support from Jewish groups.
In May, 2010 – Mike Gravel lauded Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s statement in Damascus that Hamas must be included in the peace process. He said that “the US cannot play the role of an honest broker because of the Jewish influence in America”.
After the UNSC passed the Israeli crippling sanction against Islamic Republic last week – Mike Gravel in interview with Press TV, said that the “US inciting conflict to trigger war”…….

How many times have we heard these words spoken by US public officials and media talking heads? It seems the more it is said the more we should believe it. This reminds me of the Nazi dictum of ‘telling the big lie ad infinitum until people believe it.’
Here’s a link to the Yale University Avalon Project. The project is designed to compile and provide access to the important documents of history. It seems like a pretty inclusive list.
Can someone point out the document that makes Israel out ally? I can’t find it.

¿ what about a GIANT DESERTIC WAR of US-Israel-Germany-SaudiArabia vs Iran-Pakistan-Syria-Turkey ? hahahaha, the war could be bigger and bigger for a chispa.
YOUR COMMENTS ARE NONSENSE AND EXAGGERATED.IRAN IS A PAPER TIGER LIKE IRAK WAS. WE WILL DECAPITATE IRAN MULLAHS WITH MOSSAD .(ATTACK IN QOUM) IF THE US CAN’T DEAL WITH IRANIAN GULF “MISSLES ‘ AND THE GUARDS BASES IT MIGHT AS WELL FOLD THE TENT (RAGHEADED REFERENCE)RIGHT NOW. IF THE US CITIZENS CAN’T DEAL WITH A LITTLE HARD$HIPP THEN THEY ARE OF NO VALUE ANYMORE SINCE THEY HAVE NO VALUES OTHER THAN A BUCK.IT WILL BE A REGIME CHANGE.
Thor,
Good comments. It would be more believable if Jimmy Hanke didn’t spend the last 4 days with me. If you don’t know who he is, suggest you ask the Mossad. Check him under our list of editors. Paper tigers can be found everywhere. We know Israel’s order of battle quite well, all the commanders and the readiness levels of the units. One would be best to leave Iran alone. America, despite what you read in the Jerusalem Post, will abandon Israel very quickly.
