Is Brentwood, city made famous by O.J. Simpson, the meanest town in America? Vets think so, homeless vets, thousands of them. Behind the million dollar ceremonial gate, built with veterans funds, a gate meant to “beautify” the ugliness of Brentwood, is a 364 acre tract belonging to California’s homeless veterans, land they will never live to see. Land meant for homeless vets is used by the Brentwood Academy, kids of the rich and infamous play there. Millionaires walk their dogs there, no scoopers or bags needed. Pretty-much everyone wants the vets locked out and a public park built, a park serving wealthy Brentwood for those who want relief from the hectic pace at the country club.

For years now, every Sunday, veterans of 5 wars, or is it 6, protest. The enemy, those blocking the veterans from the emergency shelter so badly needed are known and not known. Donna Beiter is not a name well know, someone paid generously to look after the Brentwood rich and famous. She is doing that job with admirable skill. Everyone knows Congressman Henry Waxman. They also know Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer. However, the other names are some of the richest and most powerful in America, local residents in love with their neighborhood and willing to go to any length including exerting their extremely powerful influence in Washington, to keep thousands of veterans living and sleeping on the streets.
Up to 20,000 veterans of recent conflicts have killed themselves, many because of homelessness.
BUSINESS AS USUAL AT THE INFAMOUS "CEREMONIAL GATE"

An endless series of shadowy front organizations such as the Veterans Park Conservency whose answer to homelessness and suicide is “contemplation” are the attractive public face on the ugliness of Brentwood. Helping them are VA police, FBI, Homeland Security, a “certain” federal judge, the Los Angeles US Attorney and a formerly Detroit based billionaire developer reputed to have very strong ties to organized crime.
Each week, the veterans land is used for something new, a wine tasting, an anti-American demonstration by Iranian terrorists, if I were only kidding or an “invitation only” charity fundraiser. The photos of homeless vets sleeping along the fence, outside the “ceremonial gate” have been published so many times across the country they are hardly worth the ink.
Veterans groups, political parties, TV, newspapers have all come out on this scandal but with this much money, reputedly over a billion dollars of land in the balance, nothing is done. VA Secretary Shensiki, even when approached by the American Legion, has been silent. This group has that much power. These aren’t ordinary Americans, not by a long shot. Brentwood is above the law, any law, they own the law.
Are things really this bad? What Americans would be so heartless and unpatriotic? The gang in Brentwood owns movie studios, TV networks, insurance companies and can trade members of congress like baseball cards. After two years of whistle blowers, financial scandals pushed under the rug and a clear indication that state, local and federal officials are totally complicit, while veterans are dying, yes dying, every day, it is time to step up.
How many dead veterans make a holocaust? Should a few of our VA officials and their community friends carry the well deserved name of “kapo?”

Is there no big name H’wood lawyer that VT or a forum member/reader has enough sway with to schmooze into filing the necessary lawsuits pro bono? Is there anybody with connections to Gary Sinise, the Nuge, Kid Rock, Sly Stallone, or other possible likeminded celebrities to make this a cause celebre, or at least a point to bring up on the H’wood talk show circuits? Maybe even a sit-in or 2? Seems like some celebrity or notable in H’wood would be willing to lend some time and effort if asked.

The actor is Sean Penn. He raced over to Haiti to do the work himself. He traveled to Cuba, Venezuela or anywhere were their is trouble even if he’s told not to go. Independent, that one is.
He’s no fan of the regular hollywood crowd since his father was blacklisted, part of the saga of the “Hollywood 10″, a terrible witch hunt with Joe McCarthy falsely accusing actors, writers, ordinary people who joined the communist party 5 years ago, that sort of ugly thing. McCarthy even attacked a 4=Star General Marshall!

I hate to tell you but Senator McCarthy was a great man and true patriot and he was right on track and was silenced by the system which is Communist through and through and was before that piece of crap FDR was given the keys.
In any event, Sean Penn is an unlikely candidate. He works for LIBERAL idiot causes, not patriotic causes. If these vets were homosexuals I am sure he would jump into action, but I doubt they are.

I suspect that a look at the McCarthy era will not resurrect his reputation. He went against General Marshall….who was, as far as I can tell, on the money. He surrounded himself with shitheads and faked his war record.

You know Gordon ,it would not cost much to build them shelter.Rural land is the way to go,if groups can get together and pool their resources.Veterans could work together in communities,growing their own food and using skills they have acquired in the services.Many would have trades/skills and this is the foundation of a community.
Words cannot describe what the neo-cons and their apparatchiks have done to the once great USA.I cannot begin to imagine how tough thse veterans are doing it on a daily basis,coping with the mental and physical truama of war and then to be treated like trash by their own Govt.The neo-cons have no shame or remorse.How do these gutless,treacherous pollies daily stand before TV cameras lying to and betraying their own people?

Ross, 9-11 was not by our govt. You really need to see on YouTube the film “Screw Loose Change” which debunks that conspiracy theory very scientifically.

There will be no respect for American Armed Forces and it’s Veterans as long as the USA government has been hijacked and is under the total control of a foreign government and an ancient tribe of international criminals.
A former F-14 pilot told me he didn’t understand the significance of Caspar Weinberger telling his squadron something to the effect of “let’s go kill some ragheads” back in the 80′s. I have helped this veteran to wake up.
