Were it not for positive thinking, I would have blown my brains out decades ago, with small loss to the world except maybe my close family for a few weeks. There is a positive corollary to positive thinking called "positive denial". The new-agers haven't figured that one out yet, or that one would be in your negative story also, I'm sure.
