Where has American Sensitivity and Wisdom Been all These Years?
Or Could the American Sensitivity be the Selective Type?

Since the beginning of the period of decolonization, settlers have no longer been able to simply say: ‘We came, we won and now we are here’ the way the Americans, the whites in South Africa and the Australians said. This way of taking over somebody else’s land by brute force was becoming extinct. It was becoming historically unaccepted and outdated.
But the Zionists did not think so, all they had in mind was this crazy dream of establishing a home land for the Zionists and in fulfilling that end any means was unquestionably justified even if it was by usurping the Arabic land of the Palestinians.
From day one to its formation up till now, Israel as a state has been faced with a lot of opposition and rejection by its Arab neighbors, honest voices from around the world and most of all by the dynamics of history.
Ground Zero and Palestine- the Analogy
For the Arabs, Israel is always viewed as a newly and forcibly implanted state in one of the Arab world’s most hallowed pieces of land, namely Palestine. The bitterness of the Israeli occupation of Palestine is cutting through the hearts of every ordinary Arab and Muslim. And if you think this is an exaggeration I urge you to think again and take a scrutinizing look at how the Americans and the westerners antagonistically feel to the building of the Islamic community center near Ground Zero, a place most Americans consider as hallowed site for it is reminiscent of the horrific 9/11 attacks on America.
I’m aware that the comparison is not fair to Muslims in so many ways. For the Islamic community center is not a military campaign aiming to occupy New York and the Muslims did not embark on some hideous genocidal plan to get rid of the New Yorkers like the Israeli did to the Palestinians. But while the plan to build the so called Ground Zero mosque was still an idea on paper, half of the Americans and specifically New Yorkers had already been against it.
The Americans and the American mainstream media began accusing the Muslims of lacking the wisdom and the sensitivity in approaching the issue. Most American pundits saw that Muslims did wrong when they chose a spot near Ground Zero for their Islamic center. Ironically those same Americans have been supporting the Zionist state and its despicable crimes in the Arabic land of Palestine for almost 60 years but none of them ever bothered to question neither the sensitivity nor the wisdom of their unconditional support to a criminal state such as Israel.
Selective Sensitivity
Americans kept voting for governments that were blindly committed to provide Israel with unlimited political and military aide that helped build the Israeli military arsenal used to expand the Israeli territory by the usurping of more Arab lands (Palestinian, Egyptian, Jordanian, Syrian and Lebanese) and shedding evermore Arab and Muslim blood. But that was o.k. that was not hurting any American sensibility, it was not an imperative enough for the flocks of pundits and writers -who are now driving the American public opinion to an Islamophobic bias over the mosque issue- to condemn such inhumane crimes or even criticize the American administration for being the accomplice to the Israeli crimes in the Middle East.
Today Obama is accused of being a cover up Muslim, simply because he pointed out that the American values and constitution cannot stand against the project of the Islamic community center near Ground Zero.
But then why did not the same sincere and patriotic Americans accuse a long line of politicians and presidents of the united states of being Zionists and cover up accomplices to a 60 year of committing war crimes and genocide against Palestinians? Where have the American sensitivity and wisdom been all those years? Or could the American sensitivity be the selective type?
The Zionists made a lot of mistakes and committed a lot of atrocities to achieve their delusion of a comeback to a lost homeland. But the biggest swindle of all was the way they made the westerners believe that they have a historical right to a homeland in Palestine as a nation and a state. An allegation refuted by modern archeology and modern history.
History Steps In
The Israeli archeologist Israel finkelstein in his book “The Bible unearthed” clearly states that the scientific excavations in Palestine throughout the last 50 years proved beyond any reasonable doubt that the Exodus from Egypt never happened, the Patriarchs are imaginary characters, the David empire is a big lie and it was nothing more than a small nomadic tribal community with a lot of fairy tales attached to it especially that of the legendary or rather the imaginary character of Solomon.
Then the prestigious historian Shlomo Sand picked it up in his extensive elaborate research published in his best seller book by the title “ the invention of the Jewish people” in which he revealed as a conclusion that the description of the Jews as a wandering and self-isolating nation of exiles, “who wandered across seas and continents, reached the ends of the earth and finally, with the advent of Zionism, made a U-turn and returned en masse to their orphaned homeland,” is nothing but “national mythology “In other words, the Diaspora never happened, the exile of the Jews is just another myth that managed to live for hundreds of years as an irrefutable fact.
The history of the ancient Israelites is the history of ancient myths, only nobody dared to question their veracity simply because they were deeply embedded in a holy book. The Jewish scribes of the Bible made sure what they wrote down then would serve the Israelites for thousands of years to come.

When the Zionists embarked on the road to Palestine they deliberately trespassed a lot of boundaries and red lines, but they never thought that crossing the boundary of history would be the foolish step that would eventually expose their lies and delusions.
History and archeology proves that the Jewish history is the history of a religion rather than the history of a nation. What the Jews from all over the world share is their religious beliefs and rituals and that is hardly enough reason to call them the Jewish people. The Jews never existed as a nation except within the boundaries of the Bible and it is too late and too unwise of them to step outside those boundaries now.

I recognize one definition of a nation: a group of people that want to live in sovereignty over itself. But most of the Jews in the world have no desire to live in the State of Israel, even though nothing is preventing them from doing so. Therefore, they cannot be seen as a nation.” Shlomo Sand says in one of his comments about his book.
When The Americans and the West endorsed the Zionists scheme they somehow encouraged the sprouting of radicalism within the world Jewish communities, they encouraged the rationalization of an extremist Jewish group. A trend the Americans now rebuke the Muslims for. But little did the Americans know what the future held for them when they encouraged the first surge of religious radicalism in the modern history of the Middle East.

Selective sensitivity: Whether or not to build a mosque on or near Ground Zero has nothing to do with the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and everything to do with the fact that when the two planes blasted into the Twin Towers, killing 3,000 people in cold blood, it was Islam attacking the West. I also challenge Dr. Ezzat’s acclamation that Palestine is the most hallowed ground in Islam — what ever happened to Mecca and Medina? Why do moslems pray toward Mecca and not Jerusalem? I also take offence to the outlandish claims made by Dr. Ezzat that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians. One only has to look at the increase in birth rates, increase in population, decline in birth mortality, increase in length of life, etc., in both Israel proper and the territories, to realize that this his accusation is baseless. An aside to Dr. Ezzat — it really doesn’t matter how many false accusations, perversions of fact, or outright lies you tell to whomever will listen, we in Israel are here to stay. Get used to it, habibi.
First, i wrote that Palestine is considered the most hallowed place to the Arabs not the Muslims in general. the Palastenians increased birth rate is their biological way of preserving their race-against the Israeli deadly attacks- and has nothing to do with the medical care rendered by Israel.

That is a sad defense: “We couldn’t have done it; we are too friggin’ stupid.” OK, let’s say that the increased birth rate among Palestinians (or should I write “Palastenians”) is a way of “preserving their race”; how do you explain the increase in live births, low infant mortality, increased length of life? How do you explain the fact that 100s of Arabs from Gaza and the West Bank apply to enter Israel for medical attention every day? Of course no person who credits themselves with the ability to research a topic and form an independent conclusion can swallow the “official” story, nay LEGEND of what really happened on 9-11-01. I was recently watching a movie about the french high-wire artist who used to do “flash-mob” type performances of his craft all around the world. He says in the movie that when he first HEARD that WTC was GOING TO BE BUILT that he began planning his event there. What ensues in the film is some very excellent footage of WTC under construction. Let me tell you that one need not have a degree in physics to EASILY grasp the idea that the structural steel in those buildings most assuredly did NOT melt from the flash-type explosion of the fuel in those planes, I would go further and say that a metric TON of fuel would not have produced the results with which we have been attempted to be brain-washed by the Government and the Media.
For those of us who keep journals, who write anything down for posterity, I encourage you to pass this idea down to your descendants. Eventually this mess will be declassified and everyone will know the truth of it. For now, just keep coughing “b#$$s$%^” every-time someone hands you the “19 arabs with box-cutters” lie.
As for the so-called State of Israel: They were cursed almost as often as they were blessed in THEIR books by The Creator, so the self-serving idea that “he who stands against Israel shall not prosper” is just that, self-serving. Especially in light of the fact that in anything biblical Israel does NOT describe a place, but as another commenter mentioned, a nomadic tribe. While the author has indeed written some debatable/disputable statements; the premise of your rebuttal would only be entertained by extreme zealots, or deceptive ones.
In any case, the author was pointing at the apparent double-standards of the American society- comparing their reaction to a ‘ground zero Mosque’ to their reaction to Israeli settlements in what is internationally considered ‘occupied territory’.
American DOUBLE-STANDARDS policy, that was really my point in the post.
That’s quite a concoction you’ve conjured. Maybe it is just like it happened. Isalmic radicals, furious over the US continued support of Israel (an hutzpahdik infidal lording it over Arabs in what is considered holy Muslim land) and stewing to begin a major battle between the Great Satan and pure Islam, send a team of suicidal maniacs flying into a potent symbol of American economic might. The question simply remains — will the West (meaning the US, as Europe as a culture seems to be totally exhausted) have the stamina to keep up the fight against radical Islam, whose sole purpose is to destroy everything not in the house of Islam or will it seek refuge in its own isolation and comfort and leave the rest of the world (including Israel) to fend for itself.

The state of Israel has long maintained political power in the US Congress, especially among Democrats. Its brilliantly conceived lobbying rocket ship has an American coat of paint and lots of US citizens fuel it. We have published a book about AIPAC, One Nation Under Israel, by Andrew J. Hurley. The title describes the problem. (1) But, other, more clever and ominous Zionist fronts operate within US Christian circles. Israel’s vast influence with Republicans has been accomplished through its influence over the so-called “Christian Right.”
Long before there was an Israeli state, a fledgling and much ridiculed religious movement was being cultured around the notion of a predictable end to the present world. It became generically known as “evangelicalism” or “dispensationalism.” It called for a political state of Israel in Palestine as a Christian imperative, and it did so even before Zionism was formalized as the World Zionist Organization in 1895. Later, Zionists used an American pastor-pretender Cyrus I. Scofield to add hundreds of new pages to the old Authorized King James Version of the Bible by 1908. (2) Ingenious Zionists transplanted their agenda into many Christian denominations amidst the ashes of the two world wars.
The new Zionist friendly religion was to rewrite the Bible to establish the future racially pure Jewish state called Israel as a vital precursor to Christ’s return to earth. Israel was to be a sign of Jesus’ “second coming.” The coveted real estate was to be the ancient land of the Philistines; provinces of Syria. Zionists correctly perceived that American Christianity would someday be strong enough to give the land to them over the objections of the owners, providing enough Christians could be convinced that Jesus expected them to do it.

I’m not Jewish and not well read in the Bible, but I’ll take a stab at answering some of your points anyway. You say Shlomo Sand’s book describes “the Jews as a wandering and self-isolating nation of exiles,” which is, first, an anachronism insofar as the Hebrew tribes never saw themselves as a wandering nation or tribal confederation or anything at all calling itself “Jewish,” and second, you refer to an “exile” that is later denied to have taken place. Of the Patriarchal Age, the fact that there was even a mythical remembrance a thousand years later is a turning point in history, and you have no basis whatsoever to deny the Hebrews retained a memory of their ancestral origins and of the monumental consolidation of their people under the divine guidance of the one true God. You also suggest the kingdoms of Israel and Judah were delusions of grandiosity on the part of the Israelites, or something like that. They were most certainly real and a force to be reckoned with in the ancient Middle East, and moreover, throughout their entire history, the prophets continually castigated the people for their sins, which is also something worth remembering. As far as being a people goes, to deny this is beyond comprehension. I surely hope that come Judgment Day or sooner, I am not held responsible for the grievous sins of the leaders of my country, and I’m sure many Jews feel the same way about Israel and its fifth column here. I am willing to bet you a million goat turds that the Palestinians currently living in Israel (within the green line) will not trade their citizenship in Israel for citizenship in a Free Palestine when and if it is established. They will not give up their health care (which is not free, by the way, but merely affordable and excellent), not to mention their recourse to an independent court system, and the privileges and freedoms granted to them under a liberal democracy (all given them without their participation in the otherwise universal obligation to defend the country in which they enjoy these privileges). When the security fence went up, we did not see thousands of Israeli Arabs running to establish residency on the Palestinian side. Rather, we witnessed thousands of Palestinians living in the territories running to East Jerusalem to establish residency there. Reminiscent of Black September, when thousands of Palestinians ran toward the Israeli border with Jordan to escape their annhilation by Hussein’s Bedouins. Do yourself and the Palestinians you claim to support a favor and get out of the Israel bashing business. It encourages a radicalism and intransigence among the Palestinians that makes it impossible to come to a peaceful end to this horrible and unnecessary conflict.
Who are you to say what others prefer? Support of Israel is illegitimate as long as its government perpetrates crimes and refuses to comply with international law. Its internationally recognized border is the green line, nothing else. The basic conditions are a high capacity for expression in English – we also have French- and Swedish-speakers – and familiarity with the online milieu. We are looking for people who are already writing blogs and circulating in Facebook”.
Members of the new unit will work at the Ministry (“They will punch a card,” says Shturman) and enjoy the full technical support of Tahila, the government’s ISP, which is responsible for computer infrastructure and Internet services for government departments. “Their missions will be defined along the lines of the government policies that they will be required to defend on the Internet. It could be the situation in Gaza, the situation in the north or whatever is decided. We will determine which international audiences we want to reach through the Internet and the strategy we will use to reach them, and the workers will implement that on in the field. Of course they will not distribute official communiquיs; they will draft the conversations themselves. We will also activate an Internet-monitoring team – people who will follow blogs, the BBC website, the Arabic websites.”
According to Shturman the project will begin with a limited budget, but he has plans to expand the team and its missions: “the new centre will also be able to support Israel as an economic and commercial entity,” he says. “Alternative energy, for example, now interests the American public and Congress much more than the conflict in the Middle East. If through my team I can post in blogs dealing with alternative energy and push the names of Israeli companies there, I will strengthen Israel’s image as a developed state that contributes to the quality of the environment and to humanity, and along with that I may also manage to help an Israeli company get millions of dollars worth of contracts. The economic potential here is great, but for that we will require a large number of people. What is unique about the Internet is the fragmentation into different communities, every community deals with what interests it. To each of those communities you have to introduce material that is relevant to it.”

Never mind that, as Dr.Ezzat mentions, there has been a masjid in the area already for some 40 years, but the folks from the Cordoba project, in keeping with the American Dream, purchased a piece of property. That is the point: they purchased a piece of property. So this drivel about how much they are going to spend improving it, what they intend it to be used for, how many stories high it will be, how many people might or might not attend it’s services, all the 9-11 sentimentalism, it’s all secondary to the fact that in America we tend to hold to the idea that when you purchase a piece of property you can pretty much do what you want with it.

Assuming that scripture interprets scripture and that the New Testament writers often quote, and under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, explain the meaning of Old Testament passages, let’s take a look at the Bible’s New Testament book of Galatians. The entire book should be thoroughly studied in context to delve into this subject in depth, but for the purposes of this article, I will quote only a few passages.
In Galatians 3:8, the Apostle Paul quotes a portion of this same scripture:
“The scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.”
Notice that Paul refers to this expression as “the gospel.” And what is the gospel message that God is proclaiming to Abram in advance? Is it the current political state of Israel that God is saying will be a blessing to all nations? Paul goes on to decisively answer that question in verse 16.
“The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his Seed. The scripture does not say ‘and to seeds,’ meaning many people, but ‘to your Seed,’ meaning one person, who is Christ.”
When churches take the verses from Genesis 12:1-3, and apply them to the present day state of Israel, they are distorting the very gospel itself. Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah, is the Seed through whom “all nations will be blessed.” That is, and always has been, the only gospel message of both the Old and New Testament.
Paul closes Galatians 3:26-29 with these profound words,
“You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
We are all equal in the sight of God. He displays no favoritism based on race, social status, or gender. Jesus Christ gave his life out of love, not to save a tiny plot of land or a favored ethnicity, but for all mankind. Not for inanimate shrines and places, as much as we may love what they represent to us, but for the forgiveness of sins and salvation for all who will receive Him. No religious persuasion has ever been more clearly responsible for so much bloodshed and destruction as has “Christian Zionism.” This 100-year old offshoot of fundamental Christianity has almost single-handedly legitimized wars in Arab states since January 1991. We Hold These Truths’ objective for nine years has been to explain why members of this loosely knit group we call Judeo-Christianity thinks and acts as though political Israel was a god. We have documented how they have been misled, especially at the seminary level, by deliberately corrupted scripture and commentaries about scripture, which has then been taught from thousands of pulpits and media outlets. We have amply covered the changes made in the Bible(s) used by Christian Zionists in prior referenced works.1
We note again that the grassroots individuals within this movement are almost always motivated by altruistic religious belief (this author was once one of these), while the driving force behind their leaders is almost always tainted by money and the power of fame.
This paper explores how Christian Zionism is co-opted by a foreign lobby, AIPAC, and used to carry out Israeli objectives. AIPAC and its powers were well documented in 1994, in One Nation under Israel by Andrew J Hurley, and published by We Hold These Truths.2
Southern Baptist pastor Jerry Falwell (died in 2007) may have been the first leader to recognize the potential for linking dispensational Christianity with Zionism and harness its combined power into a political movement with loyalty to the state of Israel as its primary and passionate mission. In the early 1980s, Falwell called his fledgling army “The Moral Majority.” It was later referred to as the “Christian Right.” Today the millions of people who have made the present state of Israel the centerpiece of their Christian religion have been given the name “Christian Zionists.” 3
We Hold These Truths prefers to describe both the Christian Zionist leaders and their misled followers as “Judeo-Christians,” a broadly accepted term, to reflect the fact that the religion they are following is no longer traditional Christianity, but one into which Judaism was injected, producing a radically altered hybrid.
Essential facts about Christian Zionism
First: It must be understood what Judeo-Christianity (also called “evangelicalism,” dispensationalism, or Christians Zionism) is: by any name, a 20th Century phenomena, an apostate-cult, meaning it practices, in part, a deviant path of following Christ, and it relies upon many varied human sources other than the traditional bible(s) for its theology.4 & 5
Second: Judeo-Christianity ascribes holiness to a foreign political state, Israel, as though it was itself a god. It placed political Israel on the throne along side of Jesus Christ, and, in so doing, its teachers ignore, if not annul, much of Jesus’ teachings. 1 & 2 & 3
Third: Rank and file churchgoers and many lesser known Judeo-Christian pastors think of themselves as moral, even when they are actively contributing to immoral acts, such as supporting mass military assassinations in Gaza and the West Bank. They do not consider these acts immoral because they believe events are ordained, or even demanded, by God.
Anger against Christian Zionists is misplaced, because they, too, are victims of their own acts. They probably bring more suffering upon themselves and their families than any other middle class group. Judeo-Christians parents rarely opposing any war that Israel favors, so it is quite likely more severe, and therefore more are killed in military combat, than for instance the sons of agnostics or other religious groups. We have yet to find reliable data to support this argument so it is offered strictly as this author’s observation and opinion based on many talks with parents and youths at churches where we have conducted vigils.
Finally, Judeo-Christianity is much larger than generally believed and is active in every state and community in the USA. The new CNN.com six-hour television feature, God’s Warriors, hosted by CNN chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour, stated in the introductory segment:
“A recent poll found that 59 percent of American evangelicals believe Israel is the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. She also asserted: “The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs estimates 85 million evangelicals believes God tells them to support Israel — more than six times the world’s Jewish population.”
Several Pew Foundation polls have supported this statement over the last four years, and in fact may suggest higher percentages than used by CNN.6
For these several reasons Judeo-Christianity can easily be used by its leader, and by the leaders of Israel, to carry out a political agenda that favors that foreign political state over and ahead of the interests of America, and ahead of the interest of any humans in the USA or any other country except Israel. For the most part followers of the cult do not know they are being used. Without this understanding many are confused between Judeo-Christian religion and its political agenda. Pro-Israel activists, including John Hagee, should rightly be registered as agents for a foreign government, so open are their objectives.,Some of our allies against serial wars attribute them to Israel, working through its agents and lobbies for the purpose of gaining US dollar support and creating chaos in the Middle East for its own benefit.
Much is finally being exposed about the powerful Israeli lobby led by The American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). AIPAC’s agenda that calls for the USA to finance and bless its occupation of its neighbors, and eventually control the oil of the Middle East, tactics that are contrary to American interests.
Professors John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt have written a powerful paper, The Israel Lobby, which tells us Israel has too much influence in US Foreign Policy. Their paper has led to a soon to be released and much anticipated book that is making giant waves across the world even before it is printed, as Israel seeks to prevent its promotion.7
We Hold These Truths sees hope. Educate the laymen within our own churches, especially mainline churches, can break Israel’s power-hold over our politicians, and it can restore others to follow Christ instead of Israel. More important, we see no other way to do it!
Without the voting support of church Israel’s well-established desire to see Iraq destroyed and its oil divided up resulted in the first gulf war in 1991 and the present contemplated devastation of Iran is nearly unstoppable. AIPAC and many American businessmen have profit interests in war and campaigned for new wars as a matter of business, but it is the Judeo-Christians who have provided the grassroots clout to keep the War On Islam churning.

Is the controversy over building a mosque near ground zero a grand distraction or a grand opportunity? Or is it, once again, grandiose demagoguery?

The claim is that we are in the Middle East to protect our liberties is misleading. To continue this charade, millions of Muslims are indicted and we are obligated to rescue them from their religious and political leaders. I am amazed at the picture you have of Israel. Israel was founded as a safe haven for 100s of thousands of Jews after the Holocaust of World War II. It’s vision was a remarkable survival response of a peoples brought to dust. It was established to give Jews the opportunity to live their lives free of discrimination, racism, and violence after 2,000 years of persecution, expulsion and annihilation. It won its first war against the Arabs who sought to destroy it after the partition of Palestine fair and square. It won its second war against the Arabs who continued to seek to destroy it fair and square. It offered back the land conquered after 1967; it offered autonomy durng the peace treaty with Egypt; it offered sharing the land again during the Camp David talks and practically every government since then has engaged in a peace process of one form or another. A majority of Israelis agree with sharing this land with the Palestinians if they in return agree to end of conflict and no right of return. No people who wishes to survive can agree to anything less. The settlements are a result of a lack of peace. If there had been agreement in the beginning there would be no settlements. If there had been agreement later on, the settlements would have been removed (i.e., Gaza, where no peace agreement was even needed for Israel to evacuate). It was the choice of the Palestinians and their supporters to hold out for total destruction of Israel rather than make an equitable agreement with them. Let’s call a spade a spade.
