ROBERT KENNEDY ON “VALUES”….WAS HE LIBERAL OR CONSERVATIVE?

HOW MANY AMERICANS REMEMBER WHAT WE LOST THAT DAY….

“Too much and too long, we seem to have surrendered community excellence and community values in the mere accumulation of material things.

Our gross national product … if we should judge America by that – counts air pollution and cigarette advertising, and ambulances to clear our highways of carnage.

It counts special locks for our doors and the jails for those who break them.

It counts the destruction of our redwoods and the loss of our natural wonder in chaotic sprawl.

It counts napalm and the cost of a nuclear warhead, and armored cars for police who fight riots in our streets.

It counts Whitman’s rifle and Speck’s knife, and the television programs which glorify violence in order to sell toys to our children.

“Yet the gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the joy of their play.

It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages; the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials.

It measures neither our wit nor our courage; neither our wisdom nor our learning; neither our compassion nor our devotion to our country; it measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile.

And it tells us everything about America except why we are proud that we are Americans.”

  1. Nicely put. In my opinion, today, RFK and JFK would be either Conservative Democrats or more likely, relaxed Republicans. Socially relaxed, fiscally conservative.

    T.

  2. Before he died, a book of his beliefs was published. He was very astute and forward looking. He also had a lot of common sense. I don’t think he would be fiscally conservative like republican. He wouldn’t be a crying liberal either. He was a person who wanted to serve the people not have the people under his foot. He might have been a wonderful president, but maybe we didn’t deserve him. Maybe that’s why he never finished his campaign for president. He was too forward thinking for us. That’s why we have the government we deserve now.

  3. RFK was an idealist AND a pragmatist. He knew the limitations of being a progressive and yet tried his best to uphold the rights of the oppressed lower and middle class of this naiton. He saw what the media, big business, the Pentagon and organized crime did to his brother up close and personal.
His ability to analyze crises, gather enough credible information to form a long term solution and execute it did not make him popular in certain circles of US special interest groups.

  4. He would have make a excellent president. only the ZIONIST did him in. till this day america does not know about the cover-up. mudering jew’s.

    • Not all Jews are Zionists, vinnie :)
      for example,

This is a characteristic absolute, no holds barred condemnation of the Zionists by Hasidic Jews published on August 22, 2010:

“According to the Satmar rebbe, Zionism is a total violation of the Torah. “If we were to take all the violations of the generation and the many transgressions committed around the world and placed them on one side of a scale and the Zionist state on the other side, it would be overwhelmingly decided that it is root of all impurity and damage in the entire world and contaminates the entire world,” the rebbe wrote in the pamphlet.”

  5. We lost an awful lot,
It is past time to clean out the Sewer, D.C.
