Walk-in Veteran Pilot Program in Wisconsin and Kansas
Some evidence that the U.S. Dept of Veterans Affairs (DVA or VA) and the agency’s Veterans Benefit Administration are turning the corner in delivering benefits in the face of record veteran suicide rates:
From the U.S. DVA Veterans Benefit Administration:
A new VA ‘Walk-In Claims’ pilot program is available for Kansas and Wisconsin Veterans, the first in the nation. The Wichita and Milwaukee VA Regional Offices offer on-the-spot reviews of claims for compensation and pension benefits. The goal is expedited claims decisions for Veterans. In some cases, decisions may be immediate or provided within days.
Come on in, or call to reserve a seat at the next claims clinic or to set up an appointment with a claims representative. Or contact your Veterans Service Officer.

We’re not there yet, but the out-and-out hostility encountered during the Bush-Cheney-American Enterprise Institute administration is gone. At least the VA is not conspiring with the U.S. DoJ and imprisoning veterans for telling the VA they’re a bunch of asses. Keep the pressure on.
