Professional Idiot Glenn Beck Equates Veterans with Communists
- Glenn Beck calls veterans “communists” for accepting gifts on Veterans Day, echoing the political view of the American Enterprise Institute and Dr. Sally Satel who have made slashing veterans’ benefits, with a particular animus towards Vietnam War veterans, a top-rate priority -
Professional Idiot Glenn Beck Equates Veterans with Communists
By Bill Bradley in Vanity Fair
Yesterday, an Iraq veteran named Denise called in to The Glenn Beck Program to complain about the fun she had on Veterans Day. Denise, who returned from Iraq two years ago, walked with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans for America (I.A.V.A.) in last Thursday’s parade in New York City and then attended a soiree at The Providence, in Midtown Manhattan, where she encountered “a spread like you wouldn’t believe.”
Personally, I think all our veterans deserve this treatment (in addition to the free Bloomin’ Onion and pint they’re offered at Outback Steakhouse). But Denise found herself questioning I.A.V.A.’s motives. “Where did they get the money for all this? It was unbelievable how they treated us that day,” she said. So she took to the Internet, where she claims she found out that the I.A.V.A.—America’s largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization for veterans of the wars of the past decade—is supported by George Soros and MoveOn.org. “George Soros has his hand in the military,” Denise told Beck, who was only too happy for the opportunity to take a few whacks at one of his favorite punching bags.
“What [liberal donors such as Soros are] doing is, they’re creating the misery, and they’re coming out and organizing all these people—under the guise of labor unions or something as innocuous sounding as, you know, Iraqi [sic] and Afghanistan Veterans Foundation [sic]—but it is Soros and Communist and radical money and they are tying and duping people in as much as they can,” Beck said, referring to an organization whose activities include lobbying for veterans policy on Capitol Hill, giving away N.F.L. and concert tickets to veterans, and working to improve mental health.
I called up I.A.V.A.’s executive director and founder, Paul Rieckhoff—who served as a first lieutenant in Iraq from 2003-2004—to see if the supporters of I.A.V.A. are really as Communist as Glenn Beck says they are. “The I.A.V.A. receives no money from MoveOn.org,” he told me. “We’re happy to take MoveOn’s money if they’ll send it, and we’re happy to take Fox News’s money if they’ll send it, too. Veterans affairs shouldn’t be a partisan issue. It’s all about Americans uniting behind our veterans.” As for the “spread like you wouldn’t believe” after the parade? Rieckhoff explained that it had been sponsored by Microsoft and Health Net.
Glenn, after you issue the I.A.V.A. an apology, do your homework. Your first lesson? This video from when Paul was a guest on your show.

Boy this is so typical of the Republican media: They just lie. And it works. Obama is a poor communicator, sure, but it would be hard for a good communicator to deal with the total lack of integrity that is Limbaugh, Beck, Fox News, etc.
In yesterday’s International Forecaster’s website, Bob Chapman relates the story of a Financial Times reporter who had two reliable high-level British officials tell him that, in a secret meeting with Bush, Bush told them he wasn’t voting for McCain and only supported him because he had to. Bush then shocked them by saying that, given the opportunity, he would have publicly endorsed Obama. I wouldn’t be surprised. There is so little we know about the real workings of politics. Both parties are marching us into serfdom as we argue with each other over which mode of enslavement we prefer. Beck’s an entertainer, for Pete’s sake, and when all hell breaks loose, he’ll probably be sunning himself on Soros’s yacht–or vice versa.
Of course he would endorse Obama. Obama is his daddy’s groomed and indoctrinated CIA manchurean candidate.
OMG please get back on your meds!!!
John needs to look around and see reality as it really is!
“There is so little we know about the real workings of politics.”
If you have the mentality of a 14 year old child with no understanding of American history and an unwillingness to accept facts that contradict your point of view, then yes, politics are “hard.”
This conspiracy ideology needs to die. Bush’s comment goes back to his personal animosity with McCain that started in the 2000 Republican primary in SC. McCain often took shots at Bush (though by the end, most Republicans did). If you had been paying attention, you would have understood that.
There’s also the fact that very few “rank and file” Republicans turned out for John McCain in 2008 at all. Does that mean that all of those Republicans were part of the conspiracy to “march us to serfdom” also?
If you believe that is happening – and that your vote is worthless and that your voice isn’t heard – then that is your problem. I’m sorry you feel sidelined and helpless. Get educated – learn the “laws of physics” that govern politics and human nature as a whole – and you’ll find that you’ll be taken seriously.
Keep acting like a child and claiming that “they’re all the same” and you’ll continue to be ignored, frustrated and powerless.
Somebody needs to take Glenn Beck and drop him right in the middle of Afghanistan and let him find his way out alone.
If “Veterans affairs shouldn’t be a partisan issue” as Paul Rieckhoff, I.A.V.A.’s executive director and founder claims, then why does his political arm IAVAAction (http://iavaaction.org/) have ONLY Democrats on their veterans “A-List” and ONLY Republicans on their veterans “D-List”. IAVA is a Democrat poseur front group, just as is the ACLU, La Raza and so many others. Americans are NOT fooled.
Kimberly – it seems to me that in these past two years, many of the Republicans have voted not to vote or voted against every major bill to come before Congress – particularly those in the Senate…maybe that’s why the Dems got the higher grade and the Repubs got “not there yet” or Ds. Even though they might say they are for vets, their voting record didn’t support their words. When you look at how the IAVA group chose to grade them, they specifically say the criteria was whether the legislator supported by votes the various veteran’s issues. I don’t t
hink that means they are a front group for either party, but I could be wrong. Regardless, don’t be fooled by Glenn Beck. He’s the real poseur.
Judy — Maybe it’s because “every major bill to come across Congress” in the last two years has been nothing but garbage. Bills that are not even written by lawmakers, they are written by special interest groups out to push their own agenda.
Why do you care if the repubs are voting “no”? Dems have the majority, they could pass whatever they wanted. Don’t blast the repubs for not wanting to put their name on the junk that has been going through the last two years. Maybe if every bill didn’t have a hidden pork pile hidden in it, the dems would have had more cooperation from the right.
Calling vets communist! Damn, maybe Mr. Beck should get his fat ass out there and fight with our military, instead of sitting behind a desk!
What does it take to get through to ANYONE that Glenn Beck is an IDIOT ?!!
His only motivation is to get ratings, get the right wing-nuts riled up over something he has little or no knowledge about and to SELL GOLD !! People, and I mean every one, who listen to him (and Limbaugh, Fox News, Palin, Bachmann and the other right wingnuts), should take a step back and actually try to rationalize what they are saying. I hope that Obama, and the Dems get back to being a majority in 2012, can get through the next two years of MAJOR gridlock and the US can get back on track to helping the middle class maintaining that status. Otherwise there will only be two classes..the wealthy and the poor. Semper Fi.
If it is easy to confirm, where are your links to said information? And you do realize Soros helped financially to bring down communist regimes, right? Was there a profit in it for him? And if so, what?
Do you have a computer?
Just google: “soros halliburton”
Beck is on the air 20 hours a week. Yes, he has on occasion said some things that were wrong, dumb, even mean spirited. But I will take Beck’s view of the world over Obama’s or 98 percent of the democrats and 70 percent of the republicans on capital hill. I am a vet and it is clear to me that military spending is going to have to be reduced along with everything else or the federal government will go bankrupt (some say it already is).
You are an idiot, who needs to stop spreading FEAR.
That why the US is so strong freedom of expression!!! Think of the out come if we could not question what our government is doing.
How in their right minds can anyone call Glenn Beck an idiot? I rate him a step or two lower than that. Howard Duff, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and George Bush are idiots.
Glen Beck is a paranoid fool. He is loved by the pro-Israel crowd for his anti-Islam rants. However, recently, he is being chased by some the same pro-Israeli dogs for calling American Jewish billionaire, George Soro, a Nazi collaborator.

Glen Beck is on Israeli fox false flag fake newZz,
so the “shoe” fits!
A bit of a stretch Bill Bradley. Go back and read Beck’s statement and then adjust your title to reflect the truth – oh, truth! Silly me!
