GORDON DUFF: MLK, A Dream Forgotten Awaiting Rebirth

"I have a dream..."

The death of “Greatness” in America

By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor

I read today’s newspapers, demands for an attack on Iran.  Iran has no nuclear program yet there is no voice in America to stand up to the liars.  Dr. King is dead.  He would have been heard.

King defined greatness.  The silence today, the silence of the last decade and more?  No American leader can be called great, none now, certainly not in decades, not since the deaths of John and Robert Kennedy.  This lack of “greatness” is a national tragedy.

There is no greater symbol of “greatness” than that put forth by Martin Luther King in his “I have a dream” speech.  The struggles have changed, some victories won but others are lost.  When you hear Dr. King speak, compare his message with those of today.  Put his words and feelings into today’s context.

A sniper’s bullet forces this to be an exercise of imagination, sadly.

YouTube - Veterans Today -

The social contract in America is based on lies.  Americans eat lies like the cheeseburgers they wear around their waists.  The lies, they are worn around the soul.  The lies symbolize our complicity in sin, murder, rape, torture, injustice of every kind.  The nations we hold up as symbols of brutality, Stalin’s Russia, Hitler’s Germany, to many, Netanyahu’s Israel, with their propaganda factories, death camps and robotic and slavish people, America has long been on this list.

We just don’t know it or don’t admit it.  We know it.  We pretend we don’t care.  This defines America in an era bereft of greatness, when the buffoons, the “Himmler’s” of our era, Beck and Palin, easy to see, but others, not so easy to see, drag us down.

More than one generation has come of age without knowing of Martin, John and Bobby.  A army of blaspheming propagandists has worked tirelessly to besmirch their memory, and for a reason.  Their spirit, real love for America, real patriotism, it has no place anymore.  Americans are supposed to be rubes, turning on each other whenever our buttons are pushed, standing up to nothing, standing for nothing.  We sat by silently when another generation was sent to war, perhaps our most brutal and unjust conflict so far.  Reverend King would have been on the front lines, were he alive today, fighting to stop what America has become, bigoted, a bully, a nation easily fooled, ready to hate, obsessed with imaginary enemies, a nation obsessed with fear.

If you don’t know that 9/11 was a conspiracy, the Bush administration and Israel, learning about this is where you start.  Lies are out there, but good information too, facts, science, testimony, hard documentation.  The 9/11 plot is the most documented crime in world history, enough hard evidence is out there to send dozens of current and former government officials, diplomats, military officers and foreign nationals to prison or worse.  If you have not begun the path toward learning the truth and are unwilling to take my challenge, to strike me down for using the words “evidence, science and fact” but choose to stay safe and warm while others die for a lie, you hold your manhood cheap.

There is no room for cowards, not anymore, not during wartime. People all over the world are dying and nobody is speaking up about it.  The shootings in Tucson bring this to light.  Why can’t the president, the press, treat every American death as though it were a tragedy?  The Bush era tradition, sneaking the dead in, dark of night, Dover Air Force Base, never a member of the administration, not once, ever showing up.  We checked, we caught them lying.  King would remember those we forget.

King would have spoken for the dead, the living, the new victims of injustice and suffering and there are so many of those victims today, so many more than he would ever have imagined.

WESTBORO, WELCOMING AMERICA'S HONORED DEAD

Without the protests of the hideous Westboro Baptist Church, our war dead would receive no recognition at all.  In a perfect world, the objectionable Westboro protesters would be shaming the rest of us using ADL (Anti-Defamation League) type tactics, swastikas and Antisemitic slogans painted on synagogues and Jewish social centers.  Instead, it seems, Westboro really means it.  The only voice remembering our dead, the sacrifice, is this one.

There are no great men, no great women to stand up for any dead, American or otherwise, not when it comes to opposing profitable war or risking scorn from the friends of Israel.

We would no longer be able to ignore the 2.4 million civilian dead, most victims of starvation and disease brought on by policies adopted by the American government that were driven by greed, driven by Israeli ambition and insanity, fueled by race hatred, fueled by sick and twisted religious heresy here in America.  Of that 2.4 million, over 100,000 were killed by military action, the vast majority “collateral damage,” innocent bystanders victimized by useless and uncontrollable billion dollar murder machines as part of the Pentagon’s “video arcade” proxy war.

What would Dr. King have to say?  For a decade, America has sent her sons and daughters to kill, to die, to the remote places of earth, initially pumped with patriotic fervor, not to fight America’s real enemies, they are at home, not among us, certainly, but inside America, just not our America.

Our enemies are not seen.  Their homes are at the ends of long driveways, behind locked gates, places few are invited and only the few even know of.  America’s enemies live in islands of excess, an archipelago of privilege and inexorably, an archipelago of pure and unrelenting evil.

Only Dr. King could speak of this, as he was most aware of it then, he would certainly feel its bloated presence today.  He would find, perhaps, a way of leaving hate out of his voice.

Or could he?

  1. I have a “dream” here. And that dream is that Michael J Volz will finally “bury the hatchet” with Larry Dickerstine. And I don’t mean between his shoulders Mike. Thank you.

  2. “The abandoned backpack found Monday along the route of Spokane’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. march contained a bomb capable of inflicting “multiple casualties,” the FBI has confirmed.”

Here’s a link to the full article:

    http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2011/jan/18/fbi-says-backpack-spokane-parade-route-was-bomb/

As I read it, it does not appear to be a government-sponsored false flag event.

  3. Denise, its called the “deification of man”. This happens to a nation that is in a “state of apostasy “. We tend to do this with athletes, entertainers, and “fame anf fortune” people. Again, it’s the media telling us who the saints are and who they are not.

  4. Gordon Duff – I see I’m on modertion. For telling the TRUTH. Shame on you. Shame on you. Why are you bowing to this False Idol?

    • @ Denise

VT does not owe us an unmoderated forum.

This is a private Web site. A private Web site has the right to set its own policies. There is nothing shameful about it.

Anyone who finds the policies of a private Web site unacceptable is free to move along.

  5. The westboro babtist is not a “church”, it is a hate group. They are in it for the money and the press. Most of the members of this “church” are attorneys. If any other group showed up at your door, would they get away with this? No! Why do they? Any one can say they are a “church”, that is not going to make you a Church! We in this country let a lot pass for “church”. This is not about freedom, it is about being human. The hate is a way to make money, by bringing a Lawsuit against people THEY have provoked. This is a scam.

  6. Gordon,

I look to this site amongst others for cutting edge news. I have long been a 9/11 conspiracy believer. From World War 1 through to the present day it is has been a racket, arguably by the house of Rothschild from well before that and it has to stop.

One of the things you covered was the Christian Zionists. If there are in fact up to 100 million of the bastards it is time to pour down some wrath on their heads. Surely someone can make a movie with some impact, after all it is obvious that things would be a fair bit different if it were not for them.

I found that whole video on the manipulation of their bible quite nauseating. And it just goes to show how far back they put their heads together.

It is obvious that the whole world has been hijacked by a very small section of the population and it needs, for all our sakes, to be put to a stop.

    Keep up the hard yackka,

    Don

“A New Perspective”–MCP addresses the possibility that Zionist interests used the latest hubbub over the alleged “Jewishness” of Congresswoman Gifford’s shooter as a fact finding mission, as well as an indepth discussion concerning Martin Luther King Jr and the manner by which Zionist groups such as the ADL spied on him.

  8. OS, you heart is in the right place, just beware of “false idols”, that’s all.

    • Johng,

Let me leave you with one last message,

If someone special appeared before you, unknowing to you, would you believe by what you see, or what you hear, or both? Not to answer, but to think.

This would be the true test..

  9. OS, I do see the good in people every day, I work with the public, but I don’t put Mike King above them!

    • Who said anything about placing above someone else? When in service, one close friend was killed at age 19, I say good thinks about him as well.

Stop wasting your time, If I wish to say something good about someone, “You won’t stop me”. Because it’s my choice, not yours.

  10. OS, Jesus Christ was the only one who gave his life to save others. You and others need to quit eating up this perpetual media garbage concerning “false idols”.

  11. OS, the stuff is getting pretty deep here!

  12. He was a “Forward Thinker”, and leader who envisioned better future for people(s), and “Feared Not” to express his ideals. The greatest of these leaders are the ones who would give their lives to save others.

Dr. King was one of those leaders.

  13. “The death of “Greatness” in America”

A bit dreary. Kinda gloomy and doomy.

I would say “greatness” is in a coma…not dead. Can be revived with the proper antidote.

  14. Wasn’t President Obama suppose to be the “King Dream Thing” personified?

  15. I dont believe that Martin Luther King was a perfect human being. He was very very brave, he was an excellent orator, he was convincing and in his speeches, it was hard to find fault with the content. Mr. King’s speeches transformed this ‘poor white boy’. Soon after his assasination, I found myself in an old WWII barracks filled with black, puerto rican and other poor whites, many from the deep south. I learned so much about other people that books can never explain. I began to recognize the truth about this country and who pulls the strings. This experiment isn’t over by a long shot. I have a lot of hope for the American People. We will keep on searching for the truth and bring it into the light. ‘The times they are a changin’. (Bob Dylan)
Best Wishes and Dont forget Martin Luther King’s words. I still get chills when I listen to his speeches.

  16. I see heroes everyday. Anyone brave enough to not pay into the U.S. tax system, as far as possible, is a hero in my eyes. I’m not talking about tax cheats either. I’m talking about people who are brave enough to voluntarily lower their taxable income to the minimum, non-taxable level, or to the level where filing taxes gets you an earned income credit.

Let’s face it, a dead hero won’t do anyone any good, and anyone who sticks their head out from the crowd will get shot, figuratively speaking of course. The heroes are wisely laying low, planting backyard gardens while it’s still legal to do so, installing water collection systems, homeschooling their children, and most definitely they are avoiding any work situation that involves a W-2.

We are giving up airline travel, staying home and getting real. When you see grunge kids on the streets with raggedy recycled clothes…talk to them, find out what they are all about. They are the heroes, opting out of a the system, helping each other out, and living the only way a person can live in the United States who doesn’t want to feed the monster with their tax dollars. I don’t mean to be insulting here, but every dollar that we put into the system makes us that much more a coward, that much more guilty of selling our own children and grandchildren into slavery.

  17. Troops literally “back from the front” have uniformly told me that contracted support personnel are worthless. The quality and speed of maintenance functions performed by them a sub-standard, slow and undependable. (I do not have any contact with nuclear weapons and can not comment on the subject.)Replacing members of the military with civilians, contracting equipment maintenance and privatizind food service is a costly disaster. I do not believe there is a will or a way in the elected branch of government to return control of pay, food, equipment, personnel and maintenance to the military. Gordon is on track with the lack of accountability with contractors. Well done!

    Regards

    Dale R. Suiter

    • Sorry – the above post belongs with Gordon’s article on privatization.

      Please excuse the error.

  18. Denise. Reality and “dreams” very often don’t mix well. This is “national dream day”, go out and enjoy it!

  19. Well said, Gordon.

This is as good a summary of where we all are in 2011 that I have ever read. It summarises attitudes and fears and the very nature of these two factors opens up America to the evils that we are now experiencing. When apathy is rife, when the public don’e seem to give a damn, it becomes an open door for the skilful opportunists, insidious fifth columnists and foreign interests to bring down a once great country. Apathy does that every time.

What does America need to do to regain its self-respect and the respect of the rest of the world? Perhaps too many things have happened making the latter impossible in 2011. Too many wars, far too many bad foreign policy decisions, too much self-interest, too much subservience to the evil middle east Zionist empire of hated and hateful militarists bent on making the world their domain, to do with as they will with an immoral America as a very willing partner.

Complacency, graft and corruption, the new accepted political characteristics in the US Congress and the Senate makes this an easy task for anyone who has as their objective, bringing America down. From here on it is a dream run, unless…..?

America is already on its knees, financially and morally bankrupt doing the bidding every day of an illegal and parasitic foreign state. We all let it happen by accepting political graft, control and influence in the media, entertainment for propaganda purposes, control of key military structures such as communications and supply and by far the worst, giving the likes of Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld and the patheticly compromised Obama and his slippery and traitorous neocons the power to have a free run to generate warlike climates in other countries designed to kill off the enemies of Israel, but using young American soldiers as their war fodder.

    But they must be stopped

    • I agree with Rexw, above.

I have just seen the documentary, “The most dangerous man in the world” a fine piece of film making on Daniel Ellsberg.
Impressive as it was, it also identified the deterioration in the political climate since then. It is safe to say that along with the generated wars (the worst in both time and deaths was Vietnam per courtesy of Johnson, the overseer of the most disgraceful piece of infamy by Israel, the USS Liberty) is the perceived, to an outsider, loss of personal freedoms and the erosion of The US Constitution. No one seems to mind, no one seems to care. This once beautifully crafted and meaningful document seems to be a shadow if its former value.

I am still amazed that to generate some fervour, some enthusiasm, to warm up an audience in the US all one has to say “Ladies and Gentlemen, if you love America….” and the crown gets to its feet and cheers. But do they know what is happening? Could we rely on the Judge bringing in an honest verdict against the government as was the case with Ellsberg so many year ago, stacked as they seem to be against such actions in 2011? Can we rely anymore on any member of Congress to vote NO on an action that was against the best interests of the US? Will we ever see newspapers publishing the truth as was done in the days of Nixon, against threat of legal action or the New York Times printing the real middle east atrocities as they occur?

I am not confident any more.

I found that whole Ellsberg story to be inspiring but I do not think it could ever happen again. As optimistic as I am, those days are gone. The control of the US is now entrenched with corrupt politicians. The wonderful values that were around in those days, the people who agitated so publicly for the end of Johnson’s war, Vietnam just don’t seem to be there any more, sadly for us all.

      They have given up.

  20. Outstanding Gordon. A new, new generation of far sighted leadership in every area of American life is what is needed. The past is shrinking into oblivion and so is the America exceptionalism that went with the ‘Dream’ that day murdered in Memphis. Living on Chinese hand outs, the past, borrowed money mercenary armies, junk food, idiot TV, and more is not cutting it. This is the only country in the world that is occupying other countries, and in our case, dangerously close to the ‘hand the feeds us’ China. A part of Afghanistan actually borders, China. Ahh should they then in turn fund a war say in Canada? For our unrelenting one sided trade agreements and bond securement by ‘Mother’ China. What would MLK think about this? Or super market parking lot sunbelt slaughters of nine yr olds, congress people, sr citizens, supporters, and federal judges? What would he make of a country so unfeeling that not a single criminal indictment was issued by a black DOJ head, his black boss (president)a actually constitutional law professor, and an political party solidly in the majority that couldn’t provide heathcare to all like Medicare nearly did in 1965? It’s hopeless is it not? Change? In this country? Guess what…for all the love you have for Dr. King, Gordon is perfect on this one. He would probably be an ex pat. He died trying to stop the madness. Now the madness is thirty times worse. The middle class was at its peak and so was America the day he was murdered by Hoover and Company from the flop house window in Memphis. I’m 56 in six months, this place scares the shit out of me, the USA 2011. And all the speeches, consoling, and feel good bullshit cannot change our sick gun culture. We believe in nothing. Gordon you out did yourself, I’m saving this one to my HD. Thanks John

the King family doesn’t believe that James Earl Ray killed their beloved Martin > why should you? > why should your kids be taught this?

    December 9, 1999 – National Public Radio

NPR’s Debbie Elliott reports that yesterday a Tennessee jury found that the 1968 assassination of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. was the result of a murder conspiracy, and not the act of a lone gunman. The king family sued Loyd Jowers, a retired Memphis businessman who claimed six years ago that he paid someone other than confessed killer James Earl Ray to kill civil rights leader.

  22. A very compelling article.

I got curious about Levison. This information doesn’t indicate his objective but it’s interesting. From the article:

It was during the run-up to the 1963 March on Washington that a piece of Levison’s past resurfaced and complicated his involvement. Jones, who has just published a book about the march, “Behind the Dream: The Making of the Speech that Transformed the Nation,” recalled that King and other civil rights leaders gathered at the White House in the summer of that year.

Clarence Jones, a black lawyer, began working with King in the early 60s.
“President Kennedy asked Dr. King to please come out of the meeting and take a walk with him in the Rose Garden,” Jones said, “and said, ‘I have some very bad news for you, some news that is very disturbing.’”

Kennedy said the FBI suspected Levison was a Soviet agent. King wasn’t convinced, and demanded to see proof. (King had received earlier similar warnings from Kennedy’s brother, Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy.) But when Levison heard the news, he worried that he’d end up ruining the very movement he was trying to help.
“Stanley’s immediate reaction was, ‘You tell Martin that he has to immediately separate himself from me,’” Jones said.

Levison had been under surveillance by the FBI for a decade by that point. Biographer David Garrow said Levison got involved in the Communist Party in the mid-1930s.

“Stan’s role, secret role, with the party, certainly during the late 1940s and early 1950s was as one of the party’s top financial managers,” Garrow said.
Garrow said FBI documents show that Levison left the party in about 1956. The Soviet invasion of Hungary that year disillusioned a lot of American Communists.
“They felt significantly betrayed by the behavior of the Soviet Union relative to what they had thought the ideals of the communist movement were supposed to be,” Garrow said.

Levison had grown up in the Rockaways. He wasn’t religiously observant, but, Garrow said, he identified himself as a Jew. He was active in the American Jewish Congress, whose mailing list he used for much of King’s fundraising.

    http://www.wnyc.org/articles/wnyc-news/2011/jan/13/martin-luther-kings-hidden-friend-and-advisor/

The Rense website has a couple of very harsh articles about King and Levison. One seems to have been written by a former or current John Birch Society person. But I am not sure if that’s true.

    • the communist ideaology probably was a good one once until it became a tool of Zionism..
Zionism taints and besmirches everything it touches, even Chrisianity..

  25. Any of you?

Why have King’s FBI tapes been sealed, for 50 years, at the request of Cora King?

FYI – all of you want some-one and something good and decent to beleive in. You won’t GET that – ever – unless you are willing to really find some-one decent and good to believe in.

  26. “Americans eat lies like the cheeseburgers they wear around their waists.”

    Priceless quote Gordon…..

  27. This phaenomenon of indifference and lethargic apathy is prevalent not only in America but throughout the Capitalistic world. True Democracies are extremely rare these days and totalitarian hegemonies, dictarships, communism, dragonian monarchiess, theocracies, fascisms and cultisms have been replaced by materialism, greed, unethisism and vice have perpetuated all societal strata and have become the norm. The result is debt enslavement, fear, capitulation and apeasement, survival culprit behaviour. Control and manipulation of governments, societies and the populace at large, has fallen to the hands of the lizarts, snakes and worms who have managed to take control of main stream mass media and all financial and economic infrastructures on the Globe.
Gordon’s short but precise and true analysis points the finger to the true and real source of all evil in America and the “free” world: The Zionists doctrine and those who have invented and perpetuated prejudice, bias and greed will one day soon pay the price of the daemonic calamities they have coused and continue to cause. Martin Luther King’s great dream will be manifested at last! for there exists the Universal Law of Reciprocity -for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction-which no one can escape from.

  29. GD,

these behaviors and lack of leadership or courage is pervasive in the corporate world. the corporate initiatives of “inclusion”, political correctness, fear of lawsuits, compliance, and corporate “culture” is a microcosm of the government.

if one dare to speak out, then clever methods of retaliation are conducted and people are made an example of to their peers, thereby squashing dissent and individuality.

I think its unfortunate that our American culture of “consumerism” has literally placed the pay check on a shrine, while moral courage and strength of conviction underground.

  30. Oh brother, Duff! Not you too!

Michael King was a womanizing, foul-mouthed, Communist puppet, His speeches were plagiarized for him by one Stanley Levison – Commie UBER Jew (am I being redundant, there? As in “Commie” and “Jew”?) – caue King was too busy banging, and then slapping around White hookers, to be bothered to plagiarize the words of others, for himself.

Duff – why are King’s FBI records sealed, for 50 years? Why? Why would a moral poaragon like King NEED to be hushed up? (More to the point – why would his family want the records sealed?)

STOP perpetuating the fraud. For SHAME.

    • Yes, Dr. King was a heterosexual. So what?

Commie? Well, Hoover said he was; so it must be true.

Have you considered wearing a “white power” shirt today? Don’t believe you require much of an excuse to proclaim your committments.

    • Oh Denise,
Why, would you of all people, spew this Zionist propaganda filth? King was harassed by “cross dressing” Hoover and his Zionist clowns for standing against their agenda. My guess is that issues of race outweigh rationality with you.
      g

      • Zionist propoganda? You mean the words that Stanly Levison – BEGMAN for Russian Commies – put in King’s mouth?

        That Sionist propoganda?

        • Denise Goldman-berg-stein-ner,

It’s funny when we look at all the people that the world reveres as amazing people that stood for things that all humans should and often fought against tyrannical governments like:

Gandhi, Mandela, MLK, John Lennon, Mother Teresa

And we typically can’t find one thing? Someone not of Jewish heritage… hum, why?

Oh, yes we get people that will talk about it like Zionist shill Chomsky, but no-one who will go out and motivate people and create real change amongst the masses. No-one who will organize marches or serious challenge conventional thought.

So when you spew out propaganda without understanding where it originates, you are just as much a part of the Christian-Zionists- globalist problem instead of looking for solutions.

    • Denise

the quality of King was that of courage, leadership and the ability to be a voice against the status quo. therefore he has become a symbol.

where are the perfect people around us? time and time again, people have demonstrated vulnerabilities and lack of good decision.

    • Denise, you should write for Wikileaks. Your bear droppings in the woods would blend right in.

      • Insults don’t counter FACTS. Why are you so willing and so invested in believing the LIES about that dirtbag?

        Why?

        • Dirtbag? You mean Hoover. Got it.

        • Didyou ever meet or talk to Dr. King?

        • Insults don’t counter FACTS. Why are you so willing and so invested in believing the LIES about that dirtbag?

Why???? You are the pot calling the kettle black.

Were you one of those white hookers? King stood for all (real) victims. Do not play that card, Denise, not in this forum. We are all too smart to fall for those lies.

    • You must have been raised differently; I was about 8-9 years old. Always knew there was something wrong with that KKK group, but then my parents would take me to the drive-in movies to watch those live recorded James Brown concerts. Is it really about being influenced or being someone independent enough to know what’s right or wrong?

I remember Dr. King’s speeches, but was very young, I figured if they didn’t like James Brown, then something was definitely wrong with them. Maybe stupid but true.

  31. well done, Gordon

Erwin Knoll, the former editor of The Progressive Magazine, wrote once in calling for non-violence from the ANC (with whom he was with on all major issues as they fought US-supported Apatheid in South Africa) that violence deafens the ears and blinded the eyes to the suffering of others.

Knoll was a principled radical pacifist from the same tradition as King, Muste. Mayer and Ghandi.

    I’m not.

We need to begin talking about supporting Hizbullah and Hamas as bulwarks against the terrorist nation of israel, because acheiving the domestic political objectives of cutting off diplomatic relations and military aid to israel ain’t going to happen.
