U.S. Public No Longer Supports Taxpayer Money to Israel

American Public Wants Tax Payer Funds Invested on Main Street USA, NOT  Tel Aviv

With Democracy breaking out in the Middle East as the 21st Century Facebook Generation of Arab youth topple the 20th Century dictators, American foreign policy in the Middle East is being led by its tail to the future forcing U.S. Think Tanks into hyperdrive.

As it once stood, the argument that Israel is the only free democracy in the region as the cause celeb for our billions in yearly support is becoming a 21st century non-starter.

In fact, A Veterans Today informal phone poll shows that 76% of American Citizens no longer support financial aid to Israel.

Some cite the flowering calls for freedom, liberty, and justice in the Arab world as the reasons for their questioning our billions sent to Israel.  Some say pay them for what?  Let them manage their own affairs.

But after further digging, it’s much more apparent that economics as home is a much more powerful engine driving this change in public attitude.

For example, the union fight between the workers of Wisconsin and the GOP bent on breaking the unions is one very serious issue that is breaking America’s back.

Furthermore, with scenes being played out all across the nation in places like Braddock Pennsylvania where cities are dying and jobs are flying away seem to be the bigger driving force for the new “we don’t want to pay for others, we need to invest at home” attitudes.

While Veterans Today believes that the U.S. should absolutely stand for liberty, freedom, and justice across the globe, it is tacitly more fundamental to our success that we invest at home first.

Instead of giving nationalists who live in lands far far away monies that we at home never get the benefits from, it’s far more sane and right to invest our monies on Main Street in places like Braddock PA and invest in our education, workers, industries, and infrastructure so that our future remains seeded for 21st century success.

The biggest obstacle to having the wishes of the American public respected and honored by the U.S. Congress who has been continually giving over $ 10 billion a year in cash and defense contracts to Tel-Aviv is getting them to get off the lobbyist payola shake down which will be easier said then done.  All this means that we may have to overthrow our own congress before we can extract the AIPAC lobby tumor from our system.

I don’t have a problem with cutting the money to Israel as long as we also cut the money to Venezuela, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, Africa, China, Pakistan and all the other countries that have nothing good to say about America.

    • truthorelse  March 10, 2011 at 7:47 pm

Hey ding-dong, we DO NOT give any money to Cuba, Venezuela or China! The money we give to Pakistan is designed to buy their government, not to benefit people. And it PALES in comparison to the billions we give to Israel!

  2. M  March 7, 2011 at 7:05 pm

It is time the US cut the the funds away from Israel. The behavior of this country convinces me the only holocaust is the one they are carrying on against the Palestinians.

We have unions fighting over the last dollars the bled out taxpayers have been able to provide and still the wars go on….we do not have a democracy. Our leaders do not represent our interests and they have long ago ceased representing our values. ENOUGH ALREADY.

Stop enabling Israel to commit CRIMES.

    BOYCOTT THEM & SANCTION THEM.

    Shirin;
Maybe people would take you seriously if you weren’t the lying piece of zionist crap you are.
Obviously you are living in israhell and obviously one of their trained operatives to troll the internet.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Israhell was created entirely from a lie!
The zionist juze who own and control America’s media, financial system and the government are hell bent on destroying this nation.
Remember what israhell did to the U.S.S.Liberty. remember the levon fair, the treasonous John Pollard. It is israhell that is responsible for the violence in the middleast and until israhell ceases to exist it will continue. America will be sucked dry by the parasite known as israhell… the children of lucifer
So shirin, you can take israhell and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine.
NO MORE AMERICAN BLOOD OR MONEY FOR ISRAHELL!!!!

Funny to think that so many Americans support Israel and worship Israeli jews and yet these Israelis don’t have a second for the Yanks unless they are on their knees lmao.

Mr. Z I couldn’t agree with you more. I saw the murdering of the men aboard the USS Liberty. I recovered and identified their bodies. These people could care less about us and it is about time we realized it. I am a Christian person that can hardly set foot inside a church in this country anymore. “My country right or wrong” has been changed to “My Israel right or wrong”. If they were so close to God how come they couldn’t put the defenseless Liberty to the bottom? They had every weapon at their disposal and still couldn’t do it. If you believe in a God where do you think he was that day? I know exactly where he was.

    “campaign contributions of Jewish-Americans”

Let them contribute to Israel instead of campaigns.

Cubans, Mexicans, Haitians, Asians, etc. they all send THEIR OWN money back home to their relatives (the people who really need it).

They don’t (as far as I know) lobby to get EVERYONE’S MONEY sent to governments and big businesses who can live without it back in their home country.

As a taxpayer, I am disappointed and even angry, that I have no say where my money goes to. First and foremost many of our citizens are in dire straits, and need that help HERE at home. No thanks to the Israeli lobbies here, who amazingly seem to control our politicians and leaders, whether we approve or not, our money keeps going to a now rogue nation, who has spied on us, shot at us, sold our weapons to China, attacks civilians “accidentally” in neighboring countries, and have been uncooperative with the US, when it comes to stopping illegal settlements being built on stolen land. Would we be sending our valuable dollars to say, Iran, if some of these international laws were being broken? I am disappointed in the Obama administration for increasing aid to Israel, and following this support for Israel like others before him did, and most probably future Presidents will. We have no choice in this matter, unfortunately.

“In fact, A Veterans Today informal phone poll shows that 76% of American Citizens no longer support financial aid to Israel.”

I pay no attention to polls, because they’re crap. But if I actually cared, I’d ask:

Are you telling me that these a**holes actually did support it at one time?

Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the average American.

  9. Shirin  March 1, 2011 at 5:00 pm

This anonymously written article places its entire argument on a number of untenable assumptions.

FIRST, it’s too premature to call the rest of the Middle East “democracies”! I have said it before and I shall reiterate it here that while it is true that a percentage of people in Arab countries who are educated and actually are familiar with the concept of democracy, if not with its workings, cannot wait to get rid of their idiot leaders. However, these uprisings and demonstrations have been fueled and assisted by the powers to be. By now we know very well that the our State Department was involved with the Egyptian situation since 2009-2010.

So, if you believe there will be another “real” democracy next to Israel in the Middle East, I suggest you don’t hold your breath.

We have given aid to Egypt, Jordan, and by God, to the Palestinian Authority (ask Yasser Arafat’s wife about the whereabouts of the money). None of these are democracies. So, the proposition that we have been given aid to Israel because “it’s been the only democracy in the Middle East” is simply not true.

SECOND, we have been giving aid to Israel to watch out for our interests in the area. How? By giving them the money on the condition that they will turn around and purchase arms, aircrafts, and other American products from us.

Now, most every foreign aid works that way. The money is given, but the money usually comes back in the form of purchases of one kind or another.

THIRD, the subtitle of the article goes to the point that it tries to get across. That Americans want their money to be spent in America. Good. If we need it here specially in bad economic times, we should spend the money here. Obviously, there are exceptions for national security, etc.

However, the entire article appears to deal only with foreign aid to Israel. We give foreign aid to a lot of other countries. Why isn’t the argument simply, stop foreign aid altogether rather than stop foreign aid to Israel?

I shouldn’t be asking that question because the answer is obvious. It would be obvious to anyone with the intelligence of a five-year-old.

Finally, whoever wrote the article is too ignorant about the fact that the Israeli government’s seat is in Jerusalem, not Tel-Aviv. Don’t tell me. I know why you intentionally misstate the truth.

    • Derek  March 2, 2011 at 4:09 pm

It’s all part of the your Zionist MSM drip drip method of creating ‘new realities’ simply by repeating the lie over and over again like when they use ‘Jerusalem’ when referring to the Israeli government.

  10. robertsgt40  March 1, 2011 at 4:48 pm

It’s not the amount we give Israel that hurts us. It’s what they do with the money(and military aid). They invade other nations in the area, stir up conflict, then get Uncle Sugar to fight their wars. That’s the real cost. They’ve owned our comgress and prez for decades. That didn’t cost much. They’re cheap whores to start with.

    • Shirin  March 1, 2011 at 7:23 pm

      What nonsense!

Just how do you know what the money is used for?

The money is used for what we, America, want it to be used for.

“They invade other nations”? Where do get your historical facts from?

By Rabbi Putzengold’s logic, I, as a half-blooded native born Norwegian, am anointed by the voices in my head to boldly and selflessly, in the name of Odin, return to the land of my Gods and hand King Oscar Sardines factory some pieces of paper that they may redeem at any HTL III redemption center for valuable prizes. Then, in the name of Odin, I bulldoze The King Oscar Sardine factory and build my avocado farm because Stavanger’s new outside deep freeze conditions are worth a lot of money because this cold totally fogs the issue that global warming was proven false a YEARS ago.
I have been a big fan of King Oscar sardines since I was a mere swaddling and would NEVER do such a stupid thing. Just comparing with the phony nouveau-Israelis destroying God’s Palestinian hundreds of years-old olive orchards that NO Israeli PARTICIPATED IN PRODUCING.
I read a bunch of your Talmud, rabbi. I suggest you try other books. If all of America read what I did, you would be toast, and your castles burned. Goy, huh? You cheap rip-off back-stabbing fake. When we wake up in the morning, we try to trust and earn trust with our neighbors. Your books are the ONLY BOOKS I have seen which mandate theft of others and murder for personal gain. Plus the weird sex stuff. Eat a dog-shit sandwich.

Perhaps, if the author referred to a country by its actual capital city, Jerusalem, I would not have considered any inherent bias of the author.

    • spec/ops ret.  March 2, 2011 at 1:36 pm

zionist capital is still tel aviv, maybe not for long as thanks to US$
jews are blowing up arab homes & taking over the whole city inspite of
the UN reports on whats happening there as US is allways vetoing any
actions against the zionist plague on the real owners.America as one who
saw & lived there f/sometime it is no wonder most the world(excluding the ones we bribe)want to get back @ us.Before we started doing the zionist dirty
work we were the hero’s of the world.

    • Derek  March 2, 2011 at 5:30 pm

MSM (Lame stream media) seem to be calling it jerusalem these days. It’s all part of the Zionist MSM drip drip method of creating ‘new realities’ simply by repeating the lie over and over again.
