Japan: America Responds
American Generosity
March 13, 2011
Japan is a sophisticated modern county. Its natural disaster plans have been well prepared and are state of the art* The recent earthquake and tidal wave disasters in Japan are at the catastrophic level. Japanese First Responders are responding to the people. Rescue and recovery efforts are underway. Japan needs help, now!
America responds, as are many other countries.
Statement by Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Japan Earthquake and Tsunami (Below remarks were made to reporters at approximately 12:30 p.m. EST outside the airport terminal in Manama, Bahrain.) “I’ve been kept informed all day long about the tsunami in Japan, the earthquake and tsunami. As best we can tell, all of our people are OK, our ships and military facilities are all in pretty good shape. We obviously have huge sympathy for the people of Japan and we are prepared to help them in any way we possibly can. It’s obviously a very sophisticated country, but this is a huge disaster and we will do all, anything we are asked to do to help out.” (DOD website) America’s Military and First Responders are on the ground and on the way to Japan. Consider the immense commitment from America.

U.S. Forces Provide Relief Aid to Japan
Published: 3/13/2011
U.S. military forces are working alongside their Japanese counterparts to provide aid as the country digs out in the aftermath of the massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami that struck March 11.
“Because of the longstanding and close working relationship between the U.S. military and its Japanese counterparts on a daily basis, the United States military has humanitarian assistance capabilities positioned in the affected regions that are ready to support emergency relief efforts and minimize human suffering,” U.S. Ambassador to Japan John V. Roos said in a statement to the media yesterday.
Dubbed Operation Tomodachi — Japanese for “friendship” — U.S. military assets mobilizing in the area include a wide range of equipment, air, sea, and ground capability and expertise. “We have units from all of our services, with a multitude of capabilities, from medical to communications to civil engineering, poised and ready to support where needed,” Roos said.
Yokota Air Base in Japan was instrumental in recovering airline traffic in the hours immediately following the earthquake, Roos said. Also, Yokota is being used as an alternate airfield for planes that cannot land at Tokyo’s Narita Airport. The air base is also providing food and shelter for displaced Japanese, according to reports.
U.S. Air Force and Marine helicopter and transport aircraft were moved from Okinawa to the U.S. military bases on Honshu. Two SH-60 Seahawk helicopters from the U.S. Naval Air Facility Atsugi have already delivered 1,500 pounds of rice and bread to people in the town of Shiroishi, in one of the worst-hit parts of Japan, according to reports.
Marines and sailors from III Marine Expeditionary Force are supporting relief operations and its subordinate units are providing command and control, aviation and logistics support, according to Marine Corps officials. The troops are capable of providing food, water, transportation and other relief support. The proximity of aviation assets at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma in Okinawa has allowed Marines from III MEF to quickly deploy critically needed supplies and aid to areas that need it most, officials said.
“In a matter of hours supplies, gear and manpower began flowing into mainland Japan with more to follow,” said Marine Lt. Col. Karl C. Rohr, the assistant chief of staff of current operations for III MEF. Yesterday, CH-46E Sea Knight helicopters with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 265, III MEF, departed Marine Corps Air Station Futenma bound for Naval Air Facility Atsugi on mainland Japan. A squadron from Marine Corps Air Station Yuma in Arizona also has been tapped to help with the relief efforts. The aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan is now off the coast of Japan’s main island of Honshu and the USS Tortuga is expected to arrive today.
According to reports, the Reagan is serving as place for Japanese helicopters to land and refuel. There are two escort ships with the Reagan and four more destroyers on the way to conduct search and rescue, according to reports. The Tortuga is loaded with two heavy lift MH-53 Sea Stallion helicopters. The USS Essex, an amphibious ship carrying a 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit is still a couple days away.
The USS Blue Ridge, a command ship loaded with relief supplies, has left Singapore but it will get to Japan after Essex. The U.S. Air Force’s Air Mobility Command forces are poised to support relief operations in Japan, according to AMC officials. Numerous AMC aircraft and crews have been placed on alert, according to officials, positioning forces to take-off within hours of receiving the call to support the humanitarian relief effort.
Tanker and airlift aircraft are included in the alert posture. Forces from the 615th Contingency Response Wing at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., are poised to deploy to open and operate airfields and receive and off-load humanitarian relief supplies, according to a release. (DOD website)
The tremendous amount of personnel, equipment and material on its way to Japan will be tested. The need approaches the catastrophic events Japan has not experienced since World War II. Our Forces may be off the Japanese coast and on the ground in Japan for months or even years into the future. As of this writing, many Japanese are receiving aid and assistance directly from the American Military.
America, joined by South Korea, Israel, China, Thailand, Russia, the European Nations, Sudan and many others are sending aid and assistance to the Japanese. NGO’s from America and around the world are responding too. An example of American assistance includes:
The USS Blue Ridge, who is the command flagship of the 7th Fleet, is loading a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief kit and is making preparations to sail from Singapore on March 12. These kits cover the needs of about 10,000 people for three months. (America.gov)
One United States Naval Ship will care for 10,000 Japanese citizens for three months. Fire Fighters, Emergency Medical Personnel, Law Enforcement, Public Works, Public Communications Experts and others are on the way to or already on the ground in Japan. They are from New York, New York, the State of Washington, Hawaii, Alaska, Texas, California and other American Cities.
We live in a great and generous country. America rebuilt Europe following World War II. Americans will rise to the occasion again and working with the Japanese people and other countries, we will rebuild Japan.

Good report, Dale. I really enjoyed my visits to Japan. Great people, though their cab drivers are only superseded in craziness by those in Dehli and Bombay.
Warmest regards to them.

Thanks. Japan has a long record of expert disaster response.
As of 2248 EST (USA time) NorthEastern Japan is under a 3 meter (about 9 feet) tidal wave warning. A volcano is now active for Sakura-Jima on Kyushu w/ash plumes 1.5 – 3 km (5,000 – 10,000 feet) altitude.
Nuclear power plant contamination is a developing problem too. Wind direction will factor very heavily into the downwind hazard prediction.
Temperatures are expected to fall with shifting winds that may impact wind direction regarding radiation. Situation is still fluid and may get more complex. Many people still need to rescue.
Americans may take comfort in The United States of America. Plans are in place to cope with all manner of disasters. Does not mean it will be easy – but there are plans in place to mitigate disasters.
Take care

It’s events like these that make citizens proud of their military.
The modern day goal of militaries should be that they can be on hand to help during a disaster, in either their own country or another one.
Australia and New Zealanders see their military’s role as basically peacekeeping and humanitarian aid when the Asia Pacific has a disaster.
Our local news said that the USA, Aust & NZ were all sending in search and rescue people to Japan, most of them were in NZ so they just move directly from there to Japan.
Hopefully this modern day disaster in Japan will result in the Japanese people liking Americans again instead of thinking they are all criminals.
Yes. New Zealand will be recovering from its recent earthquake for months to come. Australian and New Zealand Military Establisments are top drawer, among the best in the world.
The United States and Allied Forces destroyed Japan as a consequence to World War II. Our generosity was extended to a defeated enemy. The United States often gets an underserved attitude from people when we do so much good for people througout the world. We rebuilt Japan as we did Europe following the man made disasters casued by facists from World Ward II.
Japan’s disaster is still developing. Its impact will be felt by the world economy for months to come. Lot of families are destitue in Japan. The world is responding in a magnificant manner.
Thank you, so very much for your response.

Yes thank you Dale please keep updates….
Have brother and sister inlaw there one neice and one nephew..and new born on the way ….
soooo will be watching closely…
And yes this is real what the U.S and others can do to help not destroy.
Thanks again Dale
You are welcome. I have a theme that includes most of the people that live on our planet are good, decent and kind. There are enough greedy and deviant types to keep Police and Military Organizations always busy.
The assesement phase of Japan’s disaster will take months. Entire communities have yet to be accounted for.
Best wishes

Not everybody serves in the Military regarding “…I am not a vet …”
A small percentage of Americans are Vets. We are actually quite rare. Miliatry Organizations have internal structure mading them ideal for disaster response.

Yeah, all my time in the military taught me to have some sort of a plan for things that go wrong. Even now I have a disaster plan written up and in two places at my house (Tornadoes, flooding, Total loss of electricity). Live in a place that earthquakes are rare as are Tsunamis. Still in the back of my wallet I keep $50 of emergency money, just in case. My wife and I are thinking of ways to help the Japanese people now and they will need a lot of it, for quite some time too.
Thank you for your comment.
Emergency situations begin and end at the local level. You are wise to be prepared. Every family in America needs to have 72 hours (three days) of emergency supplies stockplied “just in case”. Stockpiled supplies have self-lives and need to be rotated for safety too.
I keep candles for emergency heat sources. One candle inside of a #10 metal can makes an excellent emergency heat source (as with any heating element that consumes oxygen the candle stove must be properly vented)? An old fashioned iron skillet w/cover is great for cooking overe most types of flame. In today’s modern technological “I gotta have the latest gadget” world, many people have no knowledge of basic skills.
I would not recommend a candle stove or iron skillet for many people in America. They simply have lost the skill to use simple devices and be innovative in survival.
I ask college classes this question: “How many of you can prepare a chicken dinner?” Many hands are raised. I then ask: “O.K. how abot if the chicken dinner is outside your house pecking at the ground?” I still get a few hands – not many.
These are a few of the examples people can rely on in the event of a natural or man made disaster. Japan will be years recovering from its recent disaster.
Japan is receving extensive assistance. They are still in the response phase of the situation in Japan. Responders will be on the ground for some time. One of the more valuable assests the Japanese need is men that operate dozers, front end loaders and all sorts of other equipment.
Travel during dangerous weather, i.e. snow, floods, tornado alerts as you have referenced needs thought too. I watch weather all the time (old habit and can not break it). Many people in America don’t know winds are prevailing western. Winds move weather patterns. Look at the west coast. Weather there is coming East. Been like that a long time now. (I know there are lot of situations that impact local weather.)
Homeland Security public education announcements for family preparedness are an excellent use of our tax dollars.
I really appreciate your contribution to this important subject.
Why 72 hours for selfaid? Takes up to three days for state and federal relief to arrive. All emergencies begin and end at the local level. Folks are their own when problems begin, until the professionals can get to them.
Take care

Thank you Dale. In the back of my truck storage bin, I have a back pack filled with canned food, can opener, silverware, a propane stove with gas bottles, two flash lites with extra batteries, a trash bag with a blanket inside and about 4 bottles of water inside that. Oh yeah, a Swiss army knife is there too.
Thinking about this Earthquake, I may have to pack a storage drum full of other stuff and hope I never have to use it.
Oh yeah, I also have propane lanterns and cook stoves, along with candles an, matches and lighters in my house. Last year during a big freeze it taught me to be even better prepared.

In 1996, a Canadian Broadcasting Corporation telecast reported the US
Defense Department was then in the initial stages of developing
“geophysical warfare”; YouTube.com now hosts the broadcast in two
parts, excerpted below.

Though I cannot expertly assess the geo-political entanglements
outlined in the next clip by Jeff Steinberg, an media analyst for the
political action committee representing perennial presidential
candidate (and staunch Bush opponent) Lyndon LaRouche, the 10-minute
excerpt of his 7 April 2008 podcast alleges escalating hostilities
among the Asian Union (Russia, India but principally China), the
European Union and the U.S. North American Union juggernaut. Though he
does not mentions eco- or weather weapons, Steinberg claims “World War
III” is imminent.
Those observations are followed by experts observations about HAARP’s
likely expanded military applications: weather modification and, yes,
earthquakes. Around the 6-minute mark, listen closely to “radio
tomographer” Brooks Agnew cite his remarkable success during the early
80s in using directed 30-watt radio energy to find twenty-six untapped
oil fields beneath the earth’s surface; he then effectively
illustrates the impact of HAARP’s one billion-watts if it were
directed into the earth’s substructure instead of the ionosphere….CONTINUE HERE:

Issue concerns humanitarium help for people. Israel sends help to Japan. Has nothing to do with geo-politics.

IT IS NOT TOO LATE FOR YOU TO GET A HIGHSCHOOL DIPLOMA
No, Dr. Nur. It is not to late for me to obtain a high school diploma.
I am approaching an age where a local high school may give me one as with World War II and Korean Vets. I did complete the 4th grade. To bad it is begining to show. Shucks, thought I had everyone fooled.
Gee, darn it.
I do wish you an excellend, productive and happy day.
Best personal regards

JAPAN EARTHQUAKE IS A US HAARP ATTACK,A PEARL HARBOR TO LOOT JAPAN.
PETTY CASH FOR WAR BANKRUPT PENTAGON COFFERS,LIKE THE LAST DAYS OF THE THIRD REICH.
TO SWITCH ATTENTION AWAY FROM FALSE MADE-UP AND WELL-PLANNED “GHADAFI” “HUMANITARIAN” CONCERNS AND MAKE A DIVERSION AWAY FROM THE START OF GOOD OLD FASHIONNED HEAVY-DUTY AMERICAN KOSHER BUTCHERY AGAINST INNOCENTS AND TO PROVOKE IRAN TO RESPOND AND CREATE THE LONG AWAITED “FALSE-FLAG” ATTACK TO START THEIR GENOCIDIDAL GEOSTRATEGIC “BRZEZINSKITE FULL SPECTRUM DOMINANCE” ON RUSSIA AND CHINA.
MONEY IS THE GOD,ROTHSCHILD IS ITS PROPHET,AMERICANS ARE ITS LUBE-BOYS AND DALE SUITER IS ITS CHEERLEADER..
Japanese leaders are working to rescue, recover and bring assistance to those in need in their country.
Kosher butchery is performed as a food preperation procedure and has nothing to do political issues.

CLEARLY FACTS INDICATES THAT RUSSIA’S DROUGHT,PAKISTAN FLOODS,CHINA,JAPAN EARTHQUAKES
ETC,ETC, ARE A STRATEGY TO BOOST BACK THE BANKRUPT DOLLAR AND DERELICT AMERICAN
MILITARY-GENOCIDAL COMPLEX BY STARVING THE WORLD AND SELLING AMERICAN WHEAT CROPS
ETC,AT GOLD PRICES AND ALSO DESTROYING COMPETING ECONOMIES…
USAID (United States Agecy for Internation Development) gives away thens of thousands of ton – loads of American wheat to people in need.
You may want to research our economic system. We are not bankrupt. Stock markets are functions, bank systems are operating and the business of a free people is in full progress. (I know – issues abound and always will.)
Genocidal issues are an important concern. Remember Rawanda? Same with Sudan, Cambodia and on and on and on. Neve going to stop.
I know nothing about gold prices, Dr. Nur. Not my area of expertise. I was kinda good once upon a time with an M-14 at up to 500 yards. (Hundreds of thousands of young American guys were too – we are called MARINES! – but that is anothe story.) American Marines and their sisters and brothers in other branches of American’s Military are on the ground or on their way to Japan, helping.
I’ll buy you a beer some day, Dr. Nur.

MR.DALE SUITER:
I AM A MUSLIM AND I DON’T DRINK. I MAINTAIN THAT YOUR COUNTRY IS BANKRUPT AND 200 TRILLIONS IN PRIVATE DEBT AND 15 IN PUBLIC DEBT, AND WHEAT GROWN ON THE LANDS STOLEN VIA GENOCIDE OF LAWFUL NATIVES IS ALL USA HAS TO SELL BESIDES COCAINE AND HEROINE AND WMD AND PROSTITUTION AND GAMBLING IN VEGAS.
IF YOU STOPPED YOUR HEAVY DRINKING YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WE HAVE TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO YOU WITH PROOFS A 100 TIMES TO NO AVAIL.
USA SURVIVES BY BORROWING FOM ARABS AND JAPAN. NOW THEY DECIDED TO PUT THEIR HANDS IN THEIR PIGGY BANKS MORE DIRECTLY. THAT’S ALL…
I do, Dr. Nur. King of Beers is great! America is not bankrupt. Our finacial institutions are operating. Issues, sure. Always will be. Heroin and concain are illegal under federal and states laws.
Nevada and other states have many legal gambling sites. These are lawful operations. Prostitution is more limited regarding lawful outlets.
Remember, a law does not have to be moral to be legal. Arms sales are an important Unitied States industry. The arms we import for our military is an example of foolish, greed driven D.C. antics. Our country has perfectly capable, competent and high quality arms manaufactures (the inferior M-16 being an example of criminal production of weapons by U.S. firms. There is always an exception.)
Our country does need to put a halt to borrowing and live within its GDP.
You take care, Dr. Nur. The proof you and others provided lacks the test of fact.

AND THEIR HUGE CHINA DEBT FOR WHICH THEY ARE TRYING TO MONGER A WAR SO AS NOT TO PAY IT BACK.
GANGSTER ONE DAY…GANGSTER ALLWAYS!!! THAT’S AMERICA AND ISRAEL DALE SUITER !!…AND LIKE YOU THEY KNOW NO SHAME!
Correct Dr. Nur. I am very proud of America and the generosity we share with the world. Tens of millions of people no longer live under the heel of a dictator. My country is scarificing its national treasures to bring a system of freedom for oppressed people in Afghanistan. Our generosity is now being extended to the people of Japan. A nation that provided us with direct military support during the early days in Iraq. People could exert their efforts towards supporting America’s humanitarium efforts rather than raking us over the coals just for something to do.
Take care Dr. Nur. Remember, Arab women can vote, work, marry, walk down the street, dress, believe, what they will or choose is the wonderfully free land.
