American Awakening, Can it Happen Here?

The story of Western intelligence creating and supporting Muslim fundamentalism to oppose the secular pan Arab movement is an old one.

A warning from bin Laden below in a 1998 John Miller interview

By Jim W. Dean STAFF WRITER/Editor

On the surface it was a classic divide and conquer strategy based on the long history of feuding and fighting tribal factions going back to biblical times.

The Soviets did this to us when they infiltrated and co-opted Martin Luther King through Stanley Levison, a high ranking Communist Party member. Although Levison feigned being a retired communist, he was ‘retired’ to work full time on getting King to go anti-war. Levison seduced him with the tried and true ego ploy, ‘you can be a great man internationally, which will help your cause back here.

King Was Co-opted, also.

Wikipedia is incorrect in stating that Levison had no ties to the CPUSA during this time. The Soviet’s top infiltration agent ( UN Secretary General Uthant’s top aide) was assigned to work with Levison and they met several times a month for lunch. The FBI got lots of pictures.

Is Osama in Davey Jones' Locker?

Mass media has cheated the public by ignoring Osama bin Laden’s early career as a CIA asset, and the funding of the Madrassa schools and textbooks to promote fundamentalism during the Soviet/Afghan war. Lesser known was the CIA funding of a recruitment program for foreign fighters, the Islamic Brigades, which became the core of what was to be called Al Qaeda.

“We created a Frankenstein, which we paid for then, and are paying a lot more now to correct the mistake.”… Jim W. Dean

But we must not forget that in Cold War days using proxy troops was always thought to be the smart play. Lesser known is what was added to this, using ‘proxy funding’  like drug money for off the books financing.

Another contemporary example is how Israel funds their massive espionage activities against America, compliments of the U.S. taxpayer. It begs the question of who is the stupid one, along with why our leadership betrays our country so. But we will be going into that on another day as it is a long story with many chapters in itself.

Today we spotlight the work that Michel Chossudovsky compiled for the 9-11 2010 anniversary. As we ponder the dumping of Osama’s body in the sea, the one we will never see, we should I think devote some introspection on when will the American Awakening happen here.

Osama Was a CIA Asset

Ex-CIA director James Woolsey is the poster boy of the free Jonathan Pollard movement. Pollard and his Israeli buddies killed more CIA agents and assets than the Soviet Union had done up to that point on their own. And Woolsey has not even been publicly denounced and shunned by our intelligence community.

This is a horrible mistake on the community’s part as silence is an inferred endorsement. We all take the oath to defend the country ‘from all enemies, foreign and domestic’, but far too many of us seem to forget the domestic part…what I call oath amnesia.

It also sends a horrible message to the young and mid level career Intel people that if you have the right juice with the Israel Lobby you can get away with just about anything. This failure makes it much easier for Israeli Intelligence to recruit spies here. We the taxpayers, actually pay people to work for the Israelis.

This is worse than the stain on the Navy for leaving the USS Liberty crew with no justice for the war crime the Israelis inflicted on them with 34 killed and 171 wounded during the 1967 war.  What we had there was a war crime against American servicemen suppressed due to ‘political concerns’ with the Israelis. By the way, withholding information or impeding the investigation of a war crime is a felony.

If the public would raise holy hell about these travesties, there would be fewer of them.  So in the end, maybe we deserve what we get. We need…an Awakening, and Michel Chossudovskyand Mr. bin Laden are here to help us.

Michel Chossudovsky - Author/Scholar

“The United States spent millions of dollars to supply Afghan schoolchildren with textbooks filled with violent images and militant Islamic teachings….The primers, which were filled with talk of jihad and featured drawings of guns, bullets, soldiers and mines, have served since then as the Afghan school system’s core curriculum. Even the Taliban used the American-produced books,..”, (Washington Post, 23 March 2002)

“Advertisements, paid for from CIA funds, were placed in newspapers and newsletters around the world offering inducements and motivations to join the [Islamic] Jihad.” (Pervez Hoodbhoy, Peace Research, 1 May 2005)

“Bin Laden recruited 4,000 volunteers from his own country and developed close relations with the most radical mujahideen leaders. He also worked closely with the CIA, … Since September 11, [2001] CIA officials have been claiming they had no direct link to bin Laden.” (Phil Gasper, International Socialist Review, November-December 2001)

  • The architects of the covert operation in support of “Islamic fundamentalism” launched during the Reagan presidency played a key role in launching the “Global War on Terrorism” in the wake of 9/11.

Ronald Reagan

President Ronald Reagan met the leaders of the Islamic Jihad at the White House in 1985

  • Under the Reagan adminstration, US foreign policy evolved towards the unconditional support and endorsement of the Islamic “freedom fighters”. In today’s World, the “freedom fighters” are labelled “Islamic terrorists”.
  • In the Pashtun language, the word “Taliban” means “Students”, or graduates of the madrasahs (places of learning or coranic schools) set up by the Wahhabi missions from Saudi Arabia, with the support of the CIA.
  • Education in Afghanistan in the years preceding the Soviet-Afghan war was largely secular. The US covert education destroyed secular education. The number of CIA sponsored religious schools (madrasahs) increased from 2,500 in 1980 to over 39,000.

The Soviet-Afghan war was part of a CIA covert agenda initiated during the Carter administration, which consisted in actively supporting and financing the Islamic brigades, later known as Al Qaeda.

The Pakistani military regime played from the outset in the late 1970s, a key role in the US sponsored military and intelligence operations in Afghanistan. In the post-Cold war era, this central role of Pakistan in US intelligence operations was extended to the broader Central Asia- Middle East region.

Brezsinki - National Security Advisor

From the outset of the Soviet Afghan war in 1979, Pakistan under military rule actively supported the Islamic brigades. In close liaison with the CIA, Pakistan’s military intelligence, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), became a powerful organization, a parallel government, wielding tremendous power and influence.

America’s covert war in Afghanistan, using Pakistan as a launch pad, was initiated during the Carter administration prior to the Soviet “invasion”:

“According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahideen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention.” (Former National Security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski, Interview with Le Nouvel Observateur, 15-21 January 1998)

Robert Gates

In the published memoirs of Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who held the position of deputy CIA Director at the height of the Soviet Afghan war, US intelligence was directly involved from the outset, prior to the Soviet invasion, in channeling aid to the Islamic brigades.

With CIA backing and the funneling of massive amounts of U.S. military aid, the Pakistani ISI had developed into a “parallel structure wielding enormous power over all aspects of government”. (Dipankar Banerjee, “Possible Connection of ISI With Drug Industry”, India Abroad, 2 December 1994).

The ISI had a staff composed of military and intelligence officers, bureaucrats, undercover agents and informers, estimated at 150,000. (Ibid)  Meanwhile, CIA operations had also reinforced the Pakistani military regime led by General Zia Ul Haq:

“Relations between the CIA and the ISI had grown increasingly warm following [General] Zia’s ouster of Bhutto and the advent of the military regime. … During most of the Afghan war, Pakistan was more aggressively anti-Soviet than even the United States. Soon after the Soviet military invaded Afghanistan in 1980, Zia [ul Haq] sent his ISI chief to destabilize the Soviet Central Asian states. The CIA only agreed to this plan in October 1984.” (Ibid)

General Zia Ul Haq with Reagan

The ISI operating virtually as an affiliate of the CIA, played a central role in channeling support to Islamic paramilitary groups in Afghanistan and subsequently in the Muslim republics of the former Soviet Union.

Acting on behalf of the CIA, the ISI was also involved in the recruitment and training of the Mujahideen. In the ten year period from 1982 to 1992, some 35,000 Muslims from 43 Islamic countries were recruited to fight in the Afghan jihad.

The madrassasin Pakistan, financed by Saudi charities, were also set up with US support with a view to “inculcating Islamic values”. “The camps became virtual universities for future Islamic radicalism,” (Ahmed Rashid, The Taliban). Guerilla training under CIA-ISI auspices included targeted assassinations and car bomb attacks.

“Weapons’ shipments “were sent by the Pakistani army and the ISI to rebel camps in the North West Frontier Province near the Afghanistan border. The governor of the province is Lieutenant General Fazle Haq, who [according to Alfred McCoy] . allowed “hundreds of heroin refineries to set up in his province.”

Beginning around 1982, Pakistani army trucks carrying CIA weapons from Karachi often pick up heroin in Haq’s province and return loaded with heroin. They are protected from police search by ISI papers.”(1982-1989: US Turns Blind Eye to BCCI and Pakistani Government Involvement in Heroin Trade See also McCoy, 2003, p. 477) .

Osama Bin Laden

Osama bin Laden

Osama bin Laden, America’s bogyman, was recruited by the CIA in 1979 at the very outset of the US sponsored jihad. He was 22 years old and was trained in a CIA sponsored guerilla training camp.

During the Reagan administration, Osama, who belonged to the wealthy Saudi Bin Laden family was put in charge of raising money for the Islamic brigades. Numerous charities and foundations were created.

The operation was coordinated by Saudi intelligence, headed by Prince Turki al-Faisal, in close liaison with the CIA. The money derived from the various charities were used to finance the recruitment of Mujahieen volunteers.

Al Qaeda, the base in Arabic was a data bank of volunteers who had enlisted to fight in the Afghan jihad. That data base was initially held by Osama bin Laden.

The Reagan Administration supports “Islamic Fundamentalism”

Pakistan’s ISI was used as a “go-between”. CIA covert support to the Mujahideen in Afghanistan operated indirectly through the Pakistani ISI, –i.e. the CIA did not channel its support directly to the Mujahideen. In other words, for these covert operations to be “successful”, Washington was carefulnot to reveal the ultimate objective of the “jihad”, which consisted in destroying the Soviet Union.

President Zia-ul-Haq

In December 1984, the Sharia Law(Islamic jurisprudence) was established in Pakistan following a rigged referendum launched by President Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq.

Barely a few months later, in March 1985, President Ronald Reagan issued National Security Decision Directive 166 (NSDD 166), which authorized “stepped-up covert military aid to the Mujahideen” as well as support to religious indoctrination.

The imposition of The Sharia in Pakistan and the promotion of “radical Islam” was a deliberate US policy serving American geopolitical interests in South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East.

Many present-day “Islamic fundamentalist organizations” in the Middle East and Central Asia, were directly or indirectly the product of US covert support and financing, often channeled through foundations from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States.

Missions from the Wahhabi sect of conservative Islam in Saudi Arabia were put in charge of running the CIA sponsored madrassas in Northern Pakistan.

Under NSDD 166, a series of covert CIA-ISI operations was launched.

The US supplied weapons to the Islamic brigades through the ISI. CIA and ISI officials would meet at ISI headquarters in Rawalpindi to coordinate US support to the Mujahideen. Under NSDD 166, the procurement of US weapons to the Islamic insurgents increased from 10,000 tons of arms and ammunition in 1983 to 65,000 tons annually by 1987. “In addition to arms, training, extensive military equipment including military satellite maps and state-of-the-art communications equipment” (University Wire, 7 May 2002).

Ronald Reagan meets Afghan Mujahideen Commanders at the White House in 1985 (Reagan Archives)

With William Casey as director of the CIA, NSDD 166 was described as the largest covert operation in US history:

The U.S. supplied support package had three essential components-organization and logistics, military technology, and ideological support for sustaining and encouraging the Afghan resistance….

U.S. counterinsurgency experts worked closely with the Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in organizing Mujahideen groups and in planning operations inside Afghanistan.

… But the most important contribution of the U.S. was to … bring in men and material from around the Arab world and beyond. The most hardened and ideologically dedicated men were sought on the logic that they would be the best fighters. Advertisements, paid for from CIA funds, were placed in newspapers and newsletters around the world offering inducements and motivations to join the Jihad. (Pervez Hoodbhoy, Afghanistan and the Genesis of the Global Jihad, Peace Research, 1 May 2005)

Religious Indoctrination

Under NSDD 166, US assistance to the Islamic brigades channeled through Pakistan was not limited to bona fidemilitary aid. Washington also supported and financed by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the process of religious indoctrination, largely to secure the demise of secular institutions:

… the United States spent millions of dollars to supply Afghan schoolchildren with textbooks filled with violent images and militant Islamic teachings, part of covert attempts to spur resistance to the Soviet occupation.

The primers, which were filled with talk of jihad and featured drawings of guns, bullets, soldiers and mines, have served since then as the Afghan school system’s core curriculum. Even the Taliban used the American-produced books,..

White House

The White House defends the religious content, saying that Islamic principles permeate Afghan culture and that the books “are fully in compliance with U.S. law and policy.” Legal experts, however, question whether the books violate a constitutional ban on using tax dollars to promote religion.

… AID officials said in interviews that they left the Islamic materials intact because they feared Afghan educators would reject books lacking a strong dose of Muslim thought. The agency removed its logo and any mention of the U.S. government from the religious texts, AID spokeswoman Kathryn Stratos said.

“It’s not AID’s policy to support religious instruction,” Stratos said. “But we went ahead with this project because the primary purpose . . . is to educate children, which is predominantly a secular activity.”

… Published in the dominant Afghan languages of Dari and Pashtun, the textbooks were developed in the early 1980s under an AID grant to the University of Nebraska -Omaha and its Center for Afghanistan Studies. The agency spent $ 51 million on the university’s education programs in Afghanistan from 1984 to 1994.” (Washington Post, 23 March 2002) *****

The numbers of third worlders who ended up as Cold War cannon fodder may never be known. Philippino counter guerrilla forces were trained in Taiwan how to help a village chief remember  the details of the last time the guerrillas came through by tying him to a tree and then raping his wife and daughters. It was very effective.

Back home we trained Central and South American soldiers at Ft. Benning, and they went back home and slaughtered whole villages whom they felt might have provided food to guerrillas, even at gunpoint. Most of us have seen the photos of kids that were head high taller than their rifles fighting for us in Laos.

Today the tables have been turned. Our military, law enforcement and C0ngressional staffers enjoy junkets to Israel, where their Intel people go to work on them. They know all the angles….sex, money, career help, get caught up on that back alimony. After all, Israel is our best friend in the Mideast. It’s not really being traitor, right?

I wish I could tell you that we need to wise up before they steal all of our money. But it is too late for that.  Or maybe we should wake up before they find something to replace the Cold War with to justify all the foreign base operations and get some wars going overseas. It is a bit too late for that.  We are running out of time folks…for our Awakening.

I will close this out with something a lot of you have never seen, Mr. bin Laden’ s interview with John Miller, where bin Laden highly reccomendsan American Awakening here. Material like this was generally cenored from Americans, and you will see why.

bin Laden sez…………….excerpts from a May 1998 interview with ABC’s John Miller:

Osama bin Laden Warning

“The Western regimes and the government of the United States of America bear the blame for what might happen.

If their people do not wish to be harmed inside their very own countries, they should seek to elect governments that are truly representative of them and that can protect their interests.”

“The leaders in America and in other countries as well have fallen victim to Jewish Zionist blackmail. They have mobilized their people against Islam and against Muslims.

These are portrayed in such a manner as to drive people to rally against them. The truth is that the whole Muslim world is the victim of international terrorism, engineered by America at the United Nations.

We are a nation whose sacred symbols have been looted and whose wealth and resources have been plundered. It is normal for us to react against the forces that invade our land and occupy it.”

“Our mothers and daughters and sons are slaughtered every day with the approval of America and its support. And, while America blocks the entry of weapons into Islamic countries, it provides the Israelis with a continuous supply of arms allowing them thus to kill and massacre more Muslims. Your religion does not forbid you from committing such acts, so you have no right to object to any response or retaliation that reciprocates your own actions.

But, and in spite of this, our retaliation is directed primarily against the soldiers only and against those standing by them. Our religion forbids us from killing innocent people such as women and children. This, however, does not apply to women fighters. A woman who puts herself in the same trench with men, gets what they get.”

“I say to them that they have put themselves at the mercy of a disloyal government, and this is most evident in Clinton’s administration … . We believe that this administration represents Israel inside America. Take the sensitive ministries such as the Ministry of Exterior and the Ministry of Defense and the CIA, you will find that the Jews have the upper hand in them. They make use of America to further their plans for the world, especially the Islamic world.

American presence in the Gulf provides support to the Jews and protects their rear. And while millions of Americans are homeless and destitute and live in abject poverty, their government is busy occupying our land and building new settlements and helping Israel build new settlements in the point of departure for our Prophet’s midnight journey to the seven heavens. America throws her own sons in the land of the two Holy Mosques for the sake of protecting Jewish interests.”

“The American government is leading the country towards hell. … We say to the Americans as people and to American mothers, if they cherish their lives and if they cherish their sons, they must elect an American patriotic government that caters to their interests not the interests of the Jews.

If the present injustice continues with the wave of national consciousness, it will inevitably move the battle to American soil, just as Ramzi Yousef and others have done. This is my message to the American people. I urge them to find a serious administration that acts in their interest and does not attack people and violate their honor and pilfer their wealth.”    – bin Laden

interesting article, and TJ Bronco hangs out here

looks like a good spot to hang out and learn a few things

Stay tuned for a loud BLAST coming soon to a town or city near you, courtesy of the same SOB’s who were behind the 9/11 FALSE FLAG/INSIDE JOB.

BS and more bs…now Obama at “ground zero”, when will the ignorance, naivete’ ( and acceptance of ) and bs lies ever end…??

  4. Bill  May 6, 2011 at 5:40 am

If this “assassination” is bs-and it undoubtedly is-then it needs to be proven..Who lived in the area? What do they have to say? He lived in some suburb and got his falafel at the local bodega..and a live goat delivered to his “compound” every day? I mean come on…

    • EJ  May 6, 2011 at 5:00 pm

I’ve heard that a goat is the filthiest animal known–even lower than a hog! They lie on their back, urinate on themselves then roll in the dirt. Lie, filthy, goat–Obaaaaama!

Thanks for the enlightening and provocative article and discussion.
It helps me make sense of the fantastical “Obamasama Affair”
To me it seems more a symptom of decline than a cause.
The Zionist American Empire is clearly disintegrating — let us hope it can occur gradually, in installments, and not take our whole world down with it!

JM, It’s more of a pleasure to do these when I get a comment section like this, as it is quite bit more work for these major ones. Gordon types a lot faster, and he remembers everything that he has read and doesn’t have to look stuff up like I do. But one of the things we are trying to do here on these big events is to not just be spectators at some big show. These big events, because they grab peoples attention, provide a great opportunity for some deeper background reflection.

We are widely read by the Intel agencies of a lot of countries not only for the articles but to gauge how people are reacting to certain events. Our biggest coup of last year was Gordon’s busting wikileaks as an Intel operation.

      Thanks for eveybody’s helpful input.

the great “awakening” is already here. much in part due to the internet. In a few short years what took the government decades to make has been undone. the government is acting like a crazed animal. caught in lie after lie. eventually it will be put to sleep.

  7. Bob  May 5, 2011 at 9:13 pm

The American people will wake up when the money is useless. I tell people all the time how everything you see and been told is fake. The trouble is we have a easy life as long as the dollar is worth 70 cents. Can’t say what will happen but you better grow food and stay out of debt. PEACE LOL

“Oh, what a tangled web we weave,
When first we practice to deceive!”
    –Sir Walter Scott

Evident proof that what you sow, you reap.

    What goes around, comes around.

Chickens always come home to roost.

I think it matters very little who the man was they killed the other night… Osama or some stand-in, some stooge, set-up for the kill, for Osama was “killed,” his reputation and his life destroyed long ago by the Hasbara, US lies and propbagana and the US misinfotainment media when they set him up as patsy for the 9-11 events. He was not executed or assassinated, he was simply brutally murdered and his body abused.

Osama may have been an “enemy” of one “America,” but St. Paul is credited with saying that “Men do not fight wars with other men, they fight wars with governments.”

They probably killed a friend of the “true” America, perhaps one of the best advisers the American people could have listened to.

The biography given here is brief, but accurate.

Perhaps he was no great hero…. but he was foully murdered and abused… a dead man, however he has lived deserves a kind word when he has been so badly used, and then discarded like a used condom, throwninto the sea!

For the only eulogy I have seen or heard for this man, you can read at: http://www.karinfriedemann.blogspot.com/.

  13. Sami Jadallah  May 5, 2011 at 12:20 pm

Thank you Jim… this is excellent… Everyone in the Middle East knows the CIA recruited Osama and sent him to Pakistan/Afghanistan with $20 millions in cash to be the Prince/ Emir of Jihad to fight the Soviet. The CIA also got many of the Arab regimes to help recruit “Mujahideen” to fight the Soviet. I should note than in countries were it takes a year or more to get a passports, recruits were given passports and tickets in a matter of weeks… this is almost across the Arab world. I also should note that the US also recruited the Palestinian Sheik Abdallah Azzam to be the “political/religious” guru similar to the political officers in the Soviet and German Nazi armies. When the job was finished, and they returned back home, the CIA gave their names to the government who promptly arrested them, and hence the fight began. We also should not forget the role of the Jewish Zionist NeoCons in the Reagan administration who invented and marketed the war against the Soviet as a Muslim Holy War. People should know the background and how we the US created monsters who came back to haunt us. Yet, we never learn.

I just don’t get it. How can anyone with a functioning brain still believe the nonsensical fairytales being put forth by our government and media? At first it was understandable that the 9/11 truth movement wasn’t gaining any traction because of the overall scientific illiteracy of the general population, and the need to understand Newtonian mechanics to grasp the implications of free fall acceleration. But now this whole Bin Laden thing is just too much. People with long and polished histories of lying for personal gain put forth a story that accomplishes vast personal gain, with ZERO evidence, and Americans swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. No body, no photos, no videos, no names, NO PROBLEM!! Lets all go celebrate the death of the Bogeyman and proclaim how proud we are to be exceptional Americans all over facebook!! Its just absurd. I’ve learned from experience that it has nothing to do with intelligence, because I know some very smart people that completely disregard the overwhelming 9/11 evidence presented to them, while some of the biggest fools I know are fully on board the truth movement. I work as a mechanical engineer, and I’ve brought up the subject at work and even a few engineers that should definitely understand the implications of gravitational (free-fall) acceleration just write it off as if they didn’t even hear what I just said. The free-fall is literally a mathematical proof of controlled demolition!! This might actually be the first time in history we can prove a massive gov’t manipulation of the people with a concrete mathematical proof, yet the subject is still taboo. Its like I’m living in the twilight zone. When will these people wake up? I’m baffled man. Maybe you guys have some insights cause this one is completely beyond the scope of my intelligence.

    • Snoopy  May 5, 2011 at 7:15 pm

I’ll sum it up for you; intellectual cowards.

    • OS  May 7, 2011 at 6:52 pm

      Controlled Demolition?

How about a “Controlled Economic Collapse”…or did you miss that one?

  15. zwells  May 5, 2011 at 9:54 am

I think there can be an some kind of awakening if people really care to read, research and become students of history. Granted, from all of the truth that has been exposed, many people have become cynical. I have many friends from so many countries who are quantums more aware of their government’s activities. Egypt alone serves as a great example although there were a lot of covert activities taken place by the Muslim Brotherhood.

The information is there. Perhaps the US is too polluted. I believe the real culture of America has become so balkanized by Infotainment and MSM lies that no one has a clue as to where their town green is to meet for meetings and discuss the state of the Republic. The Net was supposed the become the new town green, maybe people know but hide. Pathetic. Obama is a person of gross incompetence with bogus credentials who has serially mislead the people of this nation. Where is the anger over the Fable of the killing of a dead man called Osama? I am amazed at the gullibility. Last week it was the totally false Birth Certificate. Anger is part of being emotionally normal. It baffles me psychologically. Many people also seem mentally distracted or zombie like. That is not the America I came of age in the 80’s.

      @Zwells,

You infer that the internet gives or should give power to the people. Obviously, if you do as you preach, and study the internet phenomenon for what it is, you will come to the conclusion that while the internet offers a place to spill your ideas, point of views, emotions, etc… it fails to give power to those who are disenfranchised from it and it gives leverage to the power of those who already have it. In all the non-MSM sites I have visited for the past 4 days, the word is generally that they do not believe in any of the propaganda about the staged OBL death theatrics. But they are a lot more divided on Obama’s birth issue. Yet, it still does not give them any power wen they expose, or discuss or accuse.

That is why I was among the first not to believe in the Egyptian revolution and called it for what it was, a mouvement manipulated and created through western Intelligence.

This is the great paradigm of the internet and our age of apparent free and borderless communications.

Denys, Not even the Mossad saw the Egypt uprising coming, and the Israelis have admitted this in their domestic media. And they usually have the pulse of Western Intelligence.

Sure, there were some young people going around and getting some training, but that has been going on for years and years. I would have bet you everything that I own that there would not be a revolution like happened in Egyt…and I would be living in a tent now.

    • zwells  May 5, 2011 at 10:34 am

Agree, based on conversations with so many Egyptian students in the years leading up to the revolution. They were frustrated, angry and begging to come to the US and get a job and a future. Plenty said there was no real future for them their despite university degrees, hard work and willingness to work in almost any field they could display proficiency.

      Zwells,
Based on your letter, it seems that you are a teacher of some sort. Or are you one of the honored Egyptian students? FYI, there are a lot of “Born in America” people in this ‘free’ country who haven’t been given the privileges that these Egyptian students now have! In my opinion, the gates to The United Stated Of America should have been closed decades ago! The United States “Government” always goes around making sure that all the ‘underprivileged’ people from other countries get a better education and job than those of us who were born here! They have given BILLIONS of $$$ to these ‘unfortunate’ countries to help their people. And where does it go? Usually into the hands of a crook representing the people! It is said that Mubarak STOLE most, if not all the $$$ that was sent from The U S A to help Egypt’s people. THIS is not out fault! In the mean time, the natural- born citizens from this country who spent YEARS “making a nest egg,” now have NO SOCIAL “SECURITY” to receive! Why? Because the blinded ‘rulers’ of this country never thought to “look after their own.”

    • zwells  May 5, 2011 at 10:30 am

I tend to agree with most of what you have said except for a point. Perhaps it is a generational thing, but I presume that most people with good minds do have Internet access and can do plenty of good on internet, emphasis on “can”, therefore it makes me hold out some hope. People are being disinformed by the MSM and its proxies at great speeds. The last I looked at the statistics, the majority of Americans DO have internet access. The larger question is what they are doing with it? Google Trends tend to indicate that some of the most trivial and truth/propaganda (corporate) sites are the ones receiving the most traffic.

The education has to be followed by action. The Egytian Revolution is now the bench mark, a bit moreso than Tunisia as the population was so much higher. They hit the streets. The rubber band that had been pulled and twisted for so many years finally broke. They reached the tipping poing.

I saw a good AL Jazzeera program of young Egyptians even going to Serbia to learn from them…something I had completely missed.

An unknown secret here is that so many Americans live behind a media iron curtain of sorts in terms of know what is going on in the world. But that is changing. I don’t even have cable tv any more.

Action here is political, cutting the special interest strings on Congress and countering the Israeli Lobby power over them.

    • Dan  May 5, 2011 at 11:14 am

Denys, good point. The alternate media serves the elite’s purpose of channeling viable opposition into a desktop revolt that’s going nowhere beyond the kitchen table. The same goes for talk radio, which relentlessly insinuates that politics as usual is the only course of action available (disagreeable as they may portray it). The idea of the elites creating their own opposition is well taken, as people who run to “their” party for relief and direction are, in both cases, running straight into the arms of our enemy.

Insofar as our strategic energy interests in the Middle East and Central Asia are being literally destroyed by these expanding wars against Islamic countries, it becomes more apparent with every passing day that the United States has become nothing but a tool of the Zionist banksters and Israel. We will be used up and thrown into the dustbin of history while Americans peck away at their keyboards imagining they’re making a difference, but not before they take control of nearly all our resources, enslave our workers to the lash of debt, and instill a police state to prevent reprisals the likes of which the world has never witnessed.

    • EJ  May 6, 2011 at 1:43 pm

Let me get this straight. You are calling yourself a “Jack Ass?”

  16. Denys Picard  May 5, 2011 at 9:43 am

“The Soviets did this to us when they infiltrated and co-opted Martin Luther King through Stanley Levison, a high ranking Communist Party member”

And now the CIA is doing to us U.S. with Barack “the Banana Republic” Obama…

    • Denys Picard  May 5, 2011 at 10:10 am

      ADDENDUM The sentence should read:

And now the CIA is doing it to us U.S. with Barack “the Banana Republic” Obama…

    • OS  May 5, 2011 at 10:53 pm

You don’t understand old family ties, you probably didn’t know President Obama and George Bush were related. But keep it quite…

    • OS  May 5, 2011 at 11:42 pm

You never put all pieces together, it was the perfect plan. Now that Bin Laden been stopped, you’ll understand who was working together and old ties at the agency.

    • OS  May 5, 2011 at 11:44 pm

And likely why certain information needed with held until the operation was complete.

  17. Truth Seeker  May 5, 2011 at 9:33 am

Humm…. If that is in fact Bin Laden’s words, then he had his hand on the pulse of America and warned of what was to come one day.

  18. tcarlson  May 5, 2011 at 8:51 am

Can we believe ANYTHING that our government has told us in this whole sorry 9/11 saga: 3 steel-frame buildings brought down miraculously after being hit by only 2 planes, 19 Arab perps (many of whom are actually still alive) controlled by an evil mastermind, Osama bin Laden, (who was at death’s door in 2001 from marfan syndrome) operating out of a huge cave complex in Afghanistan (which didn’t happen to exist), the reasons for the wars, the “rescue” of Jessica Lynch… and now this dramatic final (I would only hope) episode of Navy SEAL daring-do, the facts of which seem to be changing by the day.

The psychopaths that run this country should at least be able to come up with a believable storyline.

    • Jim W. Dean  May 5, 2011 at 10:11 am

Carlson, I will share with you what I was told by someone who taught me a lot about this after my years of nibbling around the edges. The topic came up of how bad things were in terms of fixing them. He said to me, “Think of the worst possible siutation that you can think of…It’s much worse than that.”

That kind of put me back on my heels because this was a person known for not hyping stuff. Mass education via the Net is the only shot I see. And I am happy to report that we have more and more retired Intel people finally picking up their muskets and powder horns and getting into the fight.

We are doing just great on the Net,including regular readers in government and Intel circles around the planet. We have to drive this down to the grass roots level, which really only our readers can do. To take and hold territory, you need boots on the ground.
