Staged Bin Laden Killing Hokum
No nation, for any reason, can be judge, jury and executioner, with no allowed exceptions
by Steve Lendman
As reported, it sounded more like bad fiction than eliminating “Enemy Number One,” especially with no visuals, corpse, independent proof, and shifting official accounts.
In Hollywood, it’s called rewrite. In politics, it’s lying, a Washington bipartisan specialty, notably on issues mattering most.
Also at issue is conducting lawless operations for any purpose.
More on that below.
Two previous articles discussed the staged May Day hokum, accessed through the following links:
They addressed the alleged killing of a dead man, an administration and media spread lie. David Ray Griffin’s important book titled, “Osama Bin Laden: Dead or Alive?” provided convincing objective and testimonial evidence of his mid-December 2001 death, of natural causes, not a commando hit squad getting their man.
Issues and Answers
After years of using bin Laden simultaneously as a CIA asset and “Enemy Number One,” why the shift now? Aside from eliminating the alleged top terror threat, major events like this are always strategically timed for political reasons.
At least several stand out now, including:
(1) Boosting Obama’s sagging image. It worked according to a New York Times poll showing an approval bump from 46% in April to an early May 57%, even though the euphoria will soon fade in hard times.
(2) Diverting attention from eroding domestic needs, notably growing angst over a deepening Main Street depression.
(3) Hyping fear for intensified, not less, imperial war, and perhaps preparing the ground for a major false flag attack to advance America’s grand scheme for unchallengeable global dominance.
On May 4, Webster Tarpley told Press TV that balkanizing Pakistan is planned to use it “as an energy corridor between Iran and China or between India and Europe.” Afghanistan is insufficient, he said.
“The Pakistan corridor could be created and the goal of US policy (is) to take the Afghan war and export it to Pakistan and to promote the division along the well-known lines of Punjabis, Baluchestan, (Abdolmalek) Rigi supported by NATO and so forth, and then, of course, Pashtunistan, which is the epicenter of all this.”
He also suspects something greater, using bin Laden’s alleged killing as “the equivalent of the Sarajevo assassination of June 22, 1914.” Weeks later, WW I began. Tarpley wonders if general war is coming, involving regional and major powers.
“I think the world situation is much more dangerous (now) than most people” imagine, he said.
Ahead, he also sees a new manufactured top enemy, perhaps named after staged revenge attacks in America and/or Europe. Not from Al Qaeda, he believes, but from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), whether or not it will work.
Perhaps a dirty bomb will be used as pretext to seize Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal. If so, he sees a good chance of events “leading towards a general war between the two countries, and in the middle of that we have to remember that the supply line for the invaders in Afghanistan goes from Karachi across Pakistani territory for (nearly) 1,000 miles.”
Imagine the consequences of disrupting it, besides drawing in other nations, possibly including China and Russia. No one knows for sure what’s coming, but reckless plans produce unpredictable consequences.
Shifting Official Stories
On May 2, after Sunday’s staged event, Obama’s counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, said Navy Seals killed bin Laden in a firefight. “Whether or not he got off any rounds, I frankly don’t know,” he said.
On May 1, New York Times writers Peter Baker, Helene Cooper and Mark Mazzetti headlined, “Bin Laden Is Dead, Obama Says,” saying:
“When American operatives converged on (his compound, he) ‘resisted the assault force’ and was killed in the middle of an intense gun battle, a senior administration official said, but details were still sketchy early Monday morning.”
In 24 hours, things changed, White House press secretary Jay Carney saying bin Laden was shot in the head unarmed. Other first reported details also changed, putting a lie to the entire account, including Brennan explaining that commandos had orders to capture him alive if he didn’t resist, saying:
“If we had the opportunity to take bin Laden alive, if he didn’t present any threat, the individuals involved were able and prepared to do that.”
On May 4, Times writers Mark Landler and Mark Mazzetti headlined, “Account Tells of One-Sided Battle in Bin Laden Raid,” saying:
The revised account “suggested that the raid, though chaotic and bloody, was extremely one-sided, with a force of more than 20 Navy Seal members quickly dispatching the handful of men protecting bin Laden.”
In fact, US commandos took no fire. Initially saying otherwise compounded the big lie about what really happened and why extra-judicially.
On May 3, CIA director Leon Panetta repeated the deception, telling Public Broadcasting:
“There were some firefights that were going on as these guys were making their way up the staircase of that compound.”
On May 4, Washington Post writers Anne Kornblut and Felicia Sonmez headlined, “White House goes silent on bin Laden raid,” saying:
Obama “ruled out publicly releasing (bin Laden) photographs….(giving) no new details about the raid (after earlier) fitful attempts to craft a riveting narrative,” now completely discredited.
He also “contradict(ed Panetta’s) assertion Tuesday that the photos would eventually be made public….” Moreover, “the White House found itself struggling to (explain what happened,) and having to justify the legal basis for it.”
Gerald Celente’s Assessment
In a May 4 commentary, Trends Research Institute founder Gerald Celente quoted Obama, saying “justice has been done….The world is safer. It is a better place because of the death of Osama bin Laden.” At time same time, Hillary Clinton warned about terror not “stop(ping) with the death of bin Laden, (so) we must redouble our efforts.”
If it’s safer, asked Celente, why double down? “These were but two of the contradictions coming out of the White House” after the raid with “many (other) discrepancies (to) follow.”
Moreover, “absent from America’s non-stop exultation and self-congratulation,” as well as cheerleading media coverage, “was any discussion of the practical consequences” going forward. With or without bin Laden or others targeted, it:
– won’t win the losing Iraq and Afghan wars;
– lower unemployment;
– stop Western nations from economic decline;
– revive housing or other real estate;
– “solve the debt and deficit crises;
– lower oil and food prices; (or)
– reverse” devastating radiation spreading from Fukushima.
It also won’t end America’s permanent war agenda or curb a domestic one on working households, unionism, public education, human and civil rights, and vital benefits, including Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, on the chopping block for elimination.
According to Celente, “the restored, rebuilt, new and improved terror bandwagon rolls again….and it will keep rolling until Election Day 2012.” Moreover, they’ll keep fear alive and they’ll blame everyone but themselves.
Legal Implications
Commenting on German television, former West German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt said:
The May 1 assault “was quite clearly a violation of international law. The operation could also have incalculable consequences in the Arab world in light of all the unrest.”
He’s right, of course, despite Attorney General Eric Holder saying:
The action was “lawful, legitimate and appropriate in every way….I’m proud of what they did. And I really want to emphasize that what they did was entirely lawful and consistent with our values.”
In other words, according to him, Obama, other administration officials, Washington groupthink, and editorial writers and pundits, acting lawlessly is lawful.
On June 27, 2010, in their Harvard National Security Journal article headlined, “Law and Policy of Targeted Killing,” Harvard Law Professors Gabriella Blum and Philip Heymann said:
“The right of a government to use deadly force against (anyone) is constrained by both domestic criminal law and international human rights norms that seek to protect the individual’s right to life and liberty….Guilt must be proved in a court of law, with (charged) individuals (given) the protections of due process guarantees.”
“Killing an individual without trial is allowed only” in self-defense or need to save other lives. “In almost any other case, it would be clearly unlawful, tantamount to extrajudicial execution or murder.”
In other words, sending US commandos against anyone, especially in another country’s sovereign territory, violates US and international law. Guilt or innocence of any crime deprives no one of due process and judicial fairness, afforded Nazi war criminals at Nuremberg.
Targets otherwise are judged guilty by accusation, not arrested, tried, Mirandized, or afforded justice. Just a bullet, bomb or slit throat, America’s “rules of engagement” morality.
On May 3, Der Spiegel writer Thomas Darnstadt headlined, “Was Bin Laden’s Killing Legal?” quoting University of Cologne Law Professor Claus Kress saying:
Achieving justice for any crime isn’t “achieved through summary executions, but through a punishment that is meted out at the end of a trial.” Doing it commando style guns blazing can also cause tragic and inevitable escalations of injustice, he added.
On May 28, 2010, Philip Alston published his UN Human Rights Council “Report of the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions,” expressing great concern that Washington “seems oblivious” to the implications of using drone attacks against people “labeled as terrorists, (and for) assert(ing) an ever-expanding entitlement for itself to target individuals across the globe,” adding:
“But this strongly asserted but ill-defined license to kill without accountability is not an entitlement which the United States or other states can have without doing grave damage to the rules designed to protect the right to life and prevent extrajudicial executions.”
“The most prolific user of targeted killing today is the United States” in gross violation of international law. (This) expansive and open-ended interpretation of the right to self-defense goes a long way towards destroying the prohibition on the use of armed force contained in the UN Charter. If invoked by other states, in pursuit of those they deem to be terrorists and to have attacked them, it would cause chaos.”
It would also render international law null and void. No nation for any reason can be judge, jury and executioner, with no allowed exceptions.
Consider also that in 1996, Obama opposed the death penalty, and in his book titled, “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream,” he said it “does little to deter crime.”
As a Senate and presidential candidate, however, he changed to accommodate public opinion, simultaneously calling death penalty justice so flawed that a national moratorium should be declared. In February 2008, he also said “no one in this country is above the law.”
As president, however, he authorized torture, illegal wars, mass killings and targeted assassinations. As a result, he violates it daily abroad and at home, unaccountable to the law he once taught at the University of Chicago Law School. Perhaps a refresher course or two might help.

Obama and Co. have just concluded the election of WarONTerror dept. vacancy left by OBL
OBL is now being replaced by a more youthful face to lead forward. Congrats
And the stupid American public eats it up with a spoon! No thinking required.
Exactly! dumb, dumb dumb from top to bottom. Obama will be replaced with another dumb puppet and the show will go on. Fools!
I asked a friend in Houston Tx who will be your next Bogeyman. Well Debbie he said we are eight years too late. Who do you think from among the famous faces at Gitmo would get the honor?
Don’t mean to make light of the grim situation we are all in or to make fun of anyone, but I couldn’t help laughing out loud when reading above that bin Laden was “killed in the middle of an intense bun battle.”
There’s a similar typo at the end of a book on the siege of Stalingrad, where the “heavy buns opened up.”
Alas, if only laughter could turn this ongoing tragedy into a comedy!
Article => Obama quote “When American operatives converged on (his compound, he) ‘resisted the assault force’ and was killed in the middle of an intense “bun battle,”…
T.V.=> Is a “bun battle” what I think it is? I.E., a bunch of popcorn farts going at it for 38 minutes? No wonder all those people died.
Sorry false progressives, I didn’t mean to insult your (nostril) sensitivities.
How could you insult anyone? No one has a clue what you are babbling about anyway.

The Agendas Behind the Bin Laden News Event
When the Lie Becomes the Truth.
by Paul Craig Roberts, May 4, 2011
The US government’s bin Laden story was so poorly crafted that it did not last 48 hours before being fundamentally altered. Indeed, the new story put out on Tuesday by White House press secretary Jay Carney bears little resemblance to the original Sunday evening story. The fierce firefight did not occur. Osama bin Laden did not hide behind a woman. Indeed, bin Laden, Carney said, “was not armed.”
[...]
Every original story detail has been changed. It wasn’t bin Laden’s wife who was murdered by the Navy SEALs , but the wife of an aide. It wasn’t bin Laden’s son, Khalid, who was murdered by the Navy SEALs, but son Hamza.
Carney blamed the changed story on “the fog of war.” But there was no firefight, so where did the “fog of war” come from?
The White House has also had to abandon the story that President Obama and his national security team watched tensely as events unfolded in real time (despite the White House having released photos of the team watching tensely), with the operation conveyed into the White House by cameras on the SEALs helmets. If Obama was watching the event as it happened, he would have noticed, one would hope, that there was no firefight and, thus, would not have told the public that bin Laden was killed in a firefight. Another reason the story had to be abandoned is that if the event was captured on video, every news service in the world would be asking for the video, but if the event was orchestrated theater, there would be no video.
No explanation has been provided for why an unarmed bin Laden, in the absence of a firefight, was murdered by the SEALs with a shot to the head. For those who believe the government’s story that “we got bin Laden,” the operation can only appear as the most botched operation in history. What kind of incompetence does it require to senselessly and needlessly kill the most valuable intelligence asset on the planet?
[...]
When such a foundational story as the demise of bin Laden cannot last 48 hours without acknowledged “discrepancies” that require fundamental alternations to the story, there are grounds for suspicion in addition to the suspicions arising from the absence of a dead body, from the absence of any evidence that bin Laden was killed in the raid or that a raid even took place. The entire episode could just be another event like the August 4, 1964, Gulf of Tonkin event that never happened but succeeded in launching open warfare against North Vietnam at a huge cost to Americans and Vietnamese and enormous profits to the military/security complex.
There is no doubt that the US is sufficiently incompetent to have needlessly killed bin Laden instead of capturing him. But who can believe that the US would quickly dispose of the evidence that bin Laden had been terminated? The government’s story is not believable that the government dumped the proof of its success into the ocean, but has some photos that might be released, someday.
As one reader put it in an email to me: “What is really alarming is the increasingly arrogant sloppiness of these lies, as though the government has become so profoundly confident of their ability to deceive people that they make virtually no effort to even appear credible.”
Governments have known from the beginning of time that they can always deceive citizens and subjects by playing the patriot card. “Remember the Maine,” the “Gulf of Tonkin,” “weapons of mass destruction,” “the Reichstag fire”–the staged events and bogus evidence are endless. If Americans knew any history, they would not be so gullible.
The real question before us is: What agenda or agendas is the “death of bin Laden” designed to further?
There are many answers to this question. Many have noticed that Obama was facing re-election with poor approval ratings. Is anyone surprised that the New York Times/CBS Poll finds a strong rise in Obama’s poll numbers after the bin Laden raid? As the New York Times reported, “the glow of national pride” rose “above partisan politics, as support for the president rose significantly among both Republicans and independents. In all, 57 percent said they now approved of the president’s job performance, up from 46 percent.”
In Washington-think, a 24% rise in approval rating justifies a staged event.
Another possibility is that Obama realized that the the budget deficit and the dollar’s rescue from collapse require the end of the expensive Afghan war and occupation and spillover war into Pakistan. As the purpose of the war was to get bin Laden, success in this objective allows the US to withdraw without loss of face, thus making it possible to reduce the US budget deficit by several hundred billion dollars annually–an easy way to have a major spending cut.
If this is the agenda, then more power to it. However, if this was Obama’s agenda, the military/security complex has quickly moved against it. CIA director Leon Panetta opened the door to false flag attacks to keep the war going by declaring that al Qaeda would avenge bin Laden’s killing. Secretary of State Clinton declared that success in killing bin Laden justified more war and more success. Homeland Security declared that the killing of bin Laden would motivate “homegrown violent extremists” into making terrorist attacks. “Homegrown violent extremists” is an undefined term, but this newly created bogyman seems to include environmentalists and war protesters. Like “suspect,” the term will include anyone the government wants to pick up.
Various parts of the government quickly seized on the success in killing bin Laden to defend and advance their own agendas, such as torture. Americans were told that bin Laden was found as a result of information gleaned from torturing detainees held in Eastern European CIA secret prisons years ago.
This listing of possible agendas and add-on agendas is far from complete, but for those capable of skepticism and independent thought, it can serve as a starting point. The agendas behind the theater will reveal themselves as time goes on. All you have to do is to pay attention and to realize that most of what you hear from the mainstream media is designed to advance the agendas.
Did I understand Mr. Robert’s position correctly
re:
“If this is the agenda, then more power to it. However, …”
That Lying/Espionage In Time of War is OK, ‘IF’ such serves a Mr. Robert’s agenda?
“..thus making it possible to reduce the US budget deficit by several hundred billion dollars annually–an easy way to have a major spending cut.” Dr. Roberts is saying that if the scheme is about finding a way of pulling out of the war and thus saving the taxpayers billions of dollars per year then he is in favor of that goal.
However, it is simply a fact that information control (ie “lying”) and intelligence (ie “espionage”) in time of war.. or otherwise.. in defense of the nation is accepted by everyone. Except apparently you. I would say you are probably a minority of one on this issue.
Dr. Roberts has been one of the most moral, courageous and decent voices on the drastic issues facing the country. Attempting to pour shit on him for a totally spurious charge is.. odious.
The worst media-whore wise-ass, Bill Maher, mocked anyone who questions this farce…Why? Because he ( sand everyone else in the increasingly obvious compromised and controlled media ) knows that as this unravels 9-11 will totally unravel and then? Well, then we’re back to reality; 9-11 was a Mossad/Mossad asset/rogue CIA job w/the cooperation of the Executive Branch and when the American people realize that no more $billions$ for Israhell…no more support at the UN…no more military or financial aid for “poor” little Israhell
Do the psychopaths running this ongoing travesty really think no one is noticing the holes, backtracks, inconsistencies, and downright illogical actions of the powers that be, regarding shooting and killing of an unarmed man in a building showing no evidence of a “fire fight”? Are we really that stupid?
Don’t answer that. It could only depress me more.
Add to that the “trains are the next target” but not for now, and not any serious plans, so we’ll just bring out the bomb/drug/terrrsts sniffing dogs, the big machine guns and the police kitted out like the Dark Forces from Star Wars. Nothing to worry about right now. Move along, but pay attention to the Public Dis-Service announcements. Whenever I ride the El in Chicago, I want to scream out, “Stop trying to scare me, I’m not buying it.” I don’t because no one would pay any attention.
Just like no one is paying attention to the extrajudicial killing near Pakistan’s West Point, a murder that violates every tenet of what America never was before the nutcases got into office. These “controllers” have run this country like it is their own piggy bank, with soldiers dying, damaged and maimed for corporate profit.
Bin Laden passed his “sell by” date and had to go. The messages weren’t getting enough response indicating a fearful populace willing to give up even more freedoms and rights for security. Our nation has been savagely destroyed by wars on a tactic. Enough.
Get us back to the real Constitution, the real rule of law, civil rights, honesty and respect, and the world will again respect us for our respect for law. We don’t have that now, and are suffering for it in lost treasure, most notably the horrific physical and psychological damages inflicted on the soldiers forced to participate in these illegal and immoral acts.
Save us from please from future violations of US and International law, and keep us from ongoing trampling upon all notions of justice and fairness both here and abroad.
You got it Lili… “Best use by date ” expired, remove the goods from the shelf! The product wasn’t selling very well anymore, anyway!
And, don’t fret about riding the “El,” just recall the various “successes” of the recent Black Flags, and you will see that there is indeed little danger to anyone, except the poor stooge who actually puts the thing in his or her knickers and pulls the pin.
The purpose of Black Flag Ops is not to kill, anyway (that would take too much expensive and dangerous explosives, and 9-11 was just a one-off spectacular opener, anyway) but just to frighten the bejesus out of everyone within range of the “poof,” “bang” and smoke!
The paraphrased prayer of the last paragraph should read something like, “Save us from our own misdeeds and folly’s, and show us the correct path.”
Y’ have a nice day, now, what is left of it.
Earlaiman
I suspect the idea is that CIA will announce that it has saved us all from itself by uncovering its own plans to stage false-flag terror events against us.
Yes it is one huge conspiracy. So huge that just today Al Queda officially confirmed the “death” of OBL. That demonstrates how wide-spread and how deep this conspiracy goes when even its alleged victims confirm that it happened. What is Al Quedea hiding? Clearly they are part of this huge conspiracy. It’s obvious that The White House, The CIA and Al Queda are all together in lying to the American public.
And a gator’s gonna get ya granny, too.
Meanwhile, OBL has moved to a Las Vega and is taking guitar lessons from Elvis. They’ll be the opening act for the joint appearance of Lady Gag and Justin Baby at The Flamingo, on 9-11, to great reviews. They’ll close with massed American Flags, a twangy Star-Spangled Banner and wet panties all around.
Folks, back when I was a veterans, you guys would have been court-martialed and put on garbage truck duty.
“Al Queda” (sic) confirmed nothing. What happened was that the BBC claimed that an anonymous person claiming to represent this piece of CIA fiction posted comments on some Islamic websites to the effect that OBL had indeed been killed.
You heard not what was said but what you wanted to hear, didn’t you?
I’m glad to see all you commentators have NOT been eating your K-Mart Lobotomy Kornflakes. America’s fate might be in your hands!

Speaking of SNL, last night’s show was not very funny. I only watched until the 1st performance of the musical guest. Two skits on OBL’s death that were, in my opinion, not in good taste and not funny.
And what is wrong with political people doing political things? Obama is the best thing to happen to America, and I hope he wins BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!
The whole world is laughing at you.
“Whether or not he got off any rounds, I don’t know.” says a WH Spokesman.
I’ve been in combat where a number of people were firing heavy weapons and small-arms at each other and everything which moved, and I have zipped up KIA, but I do not recall ever hearing such language. Sounds very Hollywood to me.
How about some of you grunts who saw a hellova lot more of that shit than I did? You ever hear such talk?
I have a sneaking idea that this entire fucking show has been scripted from the git-go to the watery grave in some writing studio, by some second rate Hollywood PR organization who usually does promo work for Tom Clancy books and lyrics for Sly Stallone and Chuck Norris movies. Not even good John Wayne or Clint Eastwood dialogue!
I once buried a shipmate at sea. Not KIA but killed by a hit-run while changing a flat tire on the LA Freeway. We gave him a decent and honorable ceremony at sea, as his wife said he wanted. We saw to it that his widow and kids got the flag, along with a lot of convenient shoulders and comforting hugs from old shipmates.
Osama was a man, a soldier, and he died, according to the story, doing his thing. Those who killed him rationalize his death and the manner of it as justifiable for an enemy combatant. There are protocols for burying enemy combatants, soldiers, and for burials at sea.
Did any of Osama’s wives get any flags? A video or some still shots of his funeral at sea? Or a copy of the service? Was there an Imam or a fellow Muslim at the funeral to say his prayer for him? Or was he simply unceremoniously dumped into the sea with the evening garbage disposal?
Hollywood script writers usually ignore or are ignorant of these subtle niceties, except when panoramas of Flanders Fields of little white crosses are required as impressive eye-bangers to make or empathize some point about the story or the vainglorious nature of KIA.
Oh, I have no doubts that UDT-6 or whomever they are called now-a-days went into Pakistan in helicopters, landed, (lost one,) and killed somebody! And, at a substantial risk of their own lives and safety! I have no doubt that it all happened. I also have no doubts that the entire show was scripted down to the finest word detail… the attack, the action and the contact reports having been written and scripted long before they launched.
I am beginning to wonder whether Battalion Commanders might someday be replaced by Hollywood producers?
The lost chopper? An inadvertant ad lib! Shit happens, you know, and thank God and the fortunes which guard good soldiers, no one as injured or lot along with it.
Y’all have as good a day as you can, considering the circumstances.

” TOP GOVERNMENT INSIDER : BIN LADEN DIED IN 2001, 9/11 FALSE FLAG ATTACK” by Paul J Watson

Top US Government Insider: Bin Laden Died In 2001, 9/11 A False Flag
http://www.prisonplanet.com/top-us-government-insider-bin-laden-died-in-2001-911-a-false-flag.html
According to Huffington Post,
“Final preparations were made on Sunday. At 2 p.m., the president met with top advisers for an hour and half, at which point he returned to the Situation Room for an additional briefing. Twenty minutes after that, he learned that bin Laden had been “tentatively identified.” By 7 p.m. he was told it was highly probable that bin Laden was at the compound. By 8:30 p.m., he received an additional briefing. He signed off on the attack after that.””
Here’s the problem.
Reuters published photos taken 1.5 hours after bin Laden was killed. They show a 2:30 AM May 2 2011 timestamp. That’s 2:30 AM Pakistani time, on May 2nd.
2:30 AM May 2 2011 Pakistani time = 5:30 PM May 1, 2011 Washington DC time.
May 1, 2011 was a Sunday, the same Sunday discussed above.
“8:30 p.m” was 5:30 AM the next day in Pakistan. He’d apparently been dead for 4.5 hours by then.
So, how could Obama have “signed off on the attack after that [8:30 pm in DC]?”
I think they’re trying to discredit Jesse Ventura by discrediting Navy Seals in general, reducing them to a gangland hit squad in the eyes of the world.
OBL may have been dead for a few years now and its politically expedient to finally
admit something the Mossad and the CIA were in on from the start, namely, they knew all along where OBL was and kept recycling old propaganda transcripts to keep the fear factor for Al Queda up to further the military campaign in AFGN.
