The Patriot Act: When Truth Becomes Treason
Americans NOT Frightened Enough by the Un-Patriot Act

Many Americans think they understand the dangers of the Patriot Act, which Congress has vowed to extend 4 more years in a vote later this week. Trust me when I say, Americans are not nearly frightened enough.
Ever wonder why the truth about 9/11 never got exposed? Why Americans don’t have a clue about leadership fraud surrounding the War on Terror? Why Americans don’t know if the 9/11 investigation was really successful? Why the Iraqi Peace Option draws a blank? Somebody has known the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden— or his grave—for the past 10 years. But nobody’s talking to the people.
In significant part, that’s because of the Patriot Act— a law that equates free speech with sedition. It’s got a big agenda, with 7,000 pages of Machiavellian code designed to interrupt individual questioning of government policy. In this brave new world, free speech under the Bill of Rights effectively has been declared a threat to government controls for maintaining stability. And the Patriot Act has become the premiere weapon to attack whistle blowers and dissidents who challenge the comfort of political leaders hiding inconvenient truths from the public. It’s all the rage on Capitol Hill, as leaders strive to score TV ratings, while demogauging their “outstanding leadership performance” on everything from national security to environmental policy.
Truth has Become Treason
But wait—Congress assures us the Patriot Act only targets foreigners, who come to our shores seeking to destroy our way of life through violent, criminal acts. Good, law abiding Americans have nothing to fear. The Patriot Act restricts its powers of “roving wiretaps” and warrantless searches to international communications among “bad guys.” Congress has sworn, with hand on heart, it’s only purpose is breaking down terrorist cells and hunting out “lone wolf” mad men.
That’s what they told you, right? And you believed them? You trust the government. Well, that was your first mistake. With regards to the Patriot Act, it’s a fatal one. Would the government lie to you? You betcha! And they have.
The Patriot Act reaches far beyond terrorism prevention. In my home state of Maryland, State Police invoked the Patriot Act to run surveillance on the Chesapeake Climate Action Network dedicated to wind power, recycling and protection of the Chesapeake Bay. They infiltrated the DC Anti War Network, suggesting the group might be a front for “white supremacists,” and Amnesty International, claiming to investigate “civil rights abuses.” Opponents of the death penalty also got targeted (in case they got violent).
Bottom line: truth tellers who give Americans too much insight on any number of issues are vulnerable to a vast arsenal of judicial weapons typically associated with China or Mynamar. In the Patriot Act, the government has created a powerful tool to hunt out free thinking on the left or right. It doesn’t discriminate. Anyone who opposes government policy is at risk
How do I know all this? Because I was the second non-Arab American ever indicted on the Patriot Act. My arrest defied all expectations about the law. I was no terrorist plotting to explode the Washington Monument. Quite the opposite, I had worked in anti-terrorism for almost a decade, covering Iraq and Libya, Yemen, Egypt and Malaysia at the United Nations. At the instruction of my CIA handler, I had delivered advance warnings about the 9/11 attack to the private staff of Attorney General John Ashcroft and the Office of Counter-Terrorism in August, 2001. FBI wire taps prove that I carried details of a comprehensive peace framework with Iraq up and down the hallowed corridors of Capitol Hill for months before the invasion, arguing that War was totally unnecessary.
I delivered those papers to Democrats and Republicans alike; to my own second cousin, White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card; and to Secretary of State Colin Powell, who lived next door to my CIA handler. Gratis of the Patriot Act, we had the manila envelope and my hand written notes to Secretary Powell, dated a week before his infamous speech at the United Nations. My papers argued that no WMDs would be found inside Iraq, and that the peace framework could achieve all U.S. objectives without firing a shot.
In short, I was an Asset who loudly opposed War with Iraq, and made every effort to correct the mistakes in assumptions on Capitol Hill.
Then I did the unthinkable. I phoned the offices of Senator Trent Lott and Senator John McCain, requesting to testify before a brand new, blue ribbon Commission investigating Pre-War Intelligence. Proud and confident of my efforts, I had no idea Congress was planning to blame “bad intelligence” for the unpopular War.
Over night I became Public Enemy Number One on Capitol Hill.
Thirty days later I awoke to hear FBI agents pounding on my door. My nightmare on the Patriot Act lasted 5 years— Four years after my arrest, the Court granted me one morning of evidentiary testimony by two supremely credible witnesses. Parke Godfrey verified my 9/11 warnings under oath. Otherwise, I never got my day in Court.
The Patriot Act’s Arsenal to Stop Free Speech
If you care about America and the traditions of freedom, whether you’re progressive or conservative, you should be angry about this law.
First come the warrantless searches and FBI tracking surveillance. My work in anti-terrorism gave me no protection. I got my first warrantless search after meeting an undercover FBI agent to discuss my support for free elections in Iraq and my opposition to torture and sexual humiliation of Iraqi detainees. (Sorry guys, body wires don’t lie.)
If truth tellers don’t get the message to shut their mouths, the Justice Department ratchets up the pressure. Defendants face secret charges, secret evidence and secret grand jury testimony. Throughout five years of indictment, my attorneys and I never got to read a single FBI interview or grand jury statement. Under the Patriot Act, the whistleblower/defendant has no right to know who has accused him or her of what criminal activities, or the dates of the alleged offenses, or what laws got broken.
Of course, I was able to piece together my activities. I knew that “sometime in October, 2001″ an Iraqi diplomat gave me the English translation of a book on depleted uranium, which showed how cancer rates and birth defects had spiked in Iraqi children.
And I was quite certain that on October 14, 1999, an Iraqi diplomat asked me how to channel major financial contributions to the Presidential Campaign of George Bush and Dick Cheney. The Justice Department got the date from me, since I reported my conversation immediately to my Defense Intelligence handler, Paul Hoven.
It’s unlikely the grand jury knew that, since the Justice Department has the prerogative to keep a grand jury in the dark. In this brave new world, a grand jury can be compelled to consider indictments carrying 10 years or more in prison, without the right to review evidence, or otherwise determine whether an individual’s actions rise to the level of criminal activity at all.
That’s just the beginning. Once Congress scores an indictment against a political opponent, the Justice Department can force Defense attorneys to undergo protracted security clearances, while the whistle blower cum defendant waits in prison— usually in solitary confinement or the SHU. After the security clearance, prosecutors have an ironclad right to bar attorneys from communicating communications from the prosecution to the defendant, on threat of disbarment, stiff fines or prison sentence.
Scared yet? Once you get to trial, the situation gets much worse. The Patriot Act declares that a prosecutor has no obligation to show evidence of criminal activity to a jury at all. And the Defense can be denied the right to argue a rebuttal to those secret charges, because it requires speculation that might mislead the jury—or might expose issues that the government considers, well, secret. After all that a Judge can instruct a jury that the prosecution regards the secret evidence as sufficient to merit conviction on the secret charges. The Jury can be barred from considering the lack of evidence in weighing whether to convict.
Think I’m exaggerating? You would be wrong. That’s what happened to me. All of it—with one major glitch. All of this presumes the whistle blower’s lucky enough to get a trial. I was denied mine, though I fought vigorously for my rights. Instead, citing the Patriot Act, I got thrown in prison on a Texas military base without so much as a hearing—and threatened with indefinite detention and forcible drugging, to boot.
Americans are not nearly afraid enough.
Neither is Congress. As of this week, members of Congress should be very afraid. Anyone who votes to extend the Patriot Act should expect to pack their bags in 2012. They will be targeted for defeat. Above all, the words “freedom” and “Constitution” will never appear in their campaigns without suffering extreme public scorn—never, ever again.

Very good article Susan. You need to be thanked for your courage and tenacity. You are a true patriot. Obviously, the legal process is now a complete sham due to the Patriot Act. The question comes to mind; would it be better to present evidence in an international court such as the ICC where one could possibly receive more fairness and justice in the process. Or, would that venue be problematical or impractical for an assortment of reasons.

Ive heard of Kangaroo courts in the Parishes of Louisiana, but this is ridiculous.
Several international attorneys have suggested that I file a complaint in the International Criminal Court, for the purpose of supporting efforts to prosecute Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz etc for war crimes. Because it shows pre-knowledge of 9/11 and a deliberate effort to thwart peace and deceive the public, with devastating consequences for the Iraqi people and international community, they think it could be a strong case.
Just do it Susan, don’t Contemplate.

There was 37,000 gallons of jet fuel on flight 93, but they found no jet fuel on the ground at the crash site. According to the Pennsylvania Environmental Protection Agency, none of the 37,000 gallons of jet fuel or any part of it, in any form, was found at the supposed crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Flight 93 was shot down. If it had landed the cover-up would have been found out and they couldn’t let that happen. The famous “dancing Israelis” who were spotted in several locations filming – and celebrating – the attacks. Their names were Sivan & Paul Kurzberg, Yaron Schmuel, Oded Ellner.
They later appeared on an Israeli talk show and claimed to be “documenting the event” CIA agent Robert Baer confirmed their cameras were set up BEFORE the first plane struck.
Another group of Israelis were caught with truck bombs around the George Washington Bridge. A third group of Jews were caught with a van that had a mural painted on the side literally depicting the 9/11 attacks.
All these white vans were working for Mossad front company “urban moving systems,” under the direction of Mossad agent Dominic Suter, who fled to Israel immediately after 9/11.
Despite the weight of the evidence implicating them in involvement in the attacks, ALL of these Israeli Jews were sent back to Israel by the orders of the Head of Homeland Security, dual citizen and Zionist extraordinaire Michael Chertoff.
It appears that 60,000 + Jews stayed away from work at the WTC Towers on 911, warned via the Odigo Hebrew language messaging service, and from the pulpit of New York synagogues the Friday before, and watched the immolation of their co workers live on television.
NIST Engineer Sunder says “on 911 there were between 8,500 and 9,000 occupants in each building,” ABC News Anchor Peter Jennings while the drama was still unfolding said, “the normal total of workers at the WTC Towers was around eighty thousand.”
Sunder’s total of between seventeen and eighteen thousand souls in the Towers, makes some sixty two thousand or so absent using Peter Jennings figures.
Nearly 500 foreign nationals from over 80 different nations, were killed in the World Trade Center, as a center of world trade and finance this is not surprising, it is known that many Israelis work in the field of international trade and finance.
The laws of probability dictate, that there should have been a considerable number of Israelis dead.
Alon Pinkas, Israel’s Consul General in New York, confirmed that one Israeli was killed in each of the planes that crashed into the towers, and one Israeli who had been the WTC on business was also killed. That was it.

Reminds me alot of the Bavarian International Films, movie I watched the last couple of nights, about Sophie, Magdelena Scholl. Truely a German Protestant Girl, 21, in the 1940′s that overtly with the help of her Brother, and others, attempted to persuade others of their real lack of action, and their cowardess. They were all convicted and Beheaded-yet they all stood their ground and beliefs. Not all were destroyed, and things luckily changed greatly for the German People, that now look at her as a Heroine. I guess our lamestream media won’t be reporting on the Patriot Act Vote because they can only focus on 2-3 events per week. Since we just got another natural or unnatural disaster, they can’t cover the biggest disaster of all The Patriot Act. But we can watch Congresses Standing ovations of Bibi (more love than any other American in congress) where they show their only true bipartisan issue, not America, but Israel.
If you haven’t noticed, all we have today is a media blackout with sanctioned news by those who where likely in charge of 911. All 911 is, was or ever be is a war on the American Public in conforming to the Criminal Police State.

Unfortunately the senate has voted to reauthorize the unpatriot act for another four years of hell. Thank you Susan for your direct to the truth reporting. Someone should make a movie about your experiences with this corrupt and tyrannical government, but I’m afraid the producers and all those involved would be arrested on secret charges, detained and tortured.
Cognitive dissonance seems to be the rule of the day as most Americans have no idea what this dangerous act of tyranny does nor do they seem to care as long as they can watch NASCAR, American Idol and NBA. Most simply can’t or won’t believe the government has turned against them…. the sheeple are getting exactly the government they deserve.

Listen, I want to thank all of you guys on VT for your wonderful words of support! What’s important is that my ordeal might be finished, thank heavens, but it’s critical for everybody to understand what’s happening to this country. We’re on the wrong path. Whether you’re Republican or Democrat or Independent, or conservative or progressive, all of us should be disturbed by the attacks on our freedom.
There should have been a public debate before the vote on extending the Patriot Act. Congress should have held proper hearings with public testimony. Remember those slogans of liberty & opposition to govt tyranny crammed into the Tea Party? They went town to town speechifying about their dedication to restoring the freedoms of our country. Now they’re elected, they sold out America entirely.
Remember that, the next time Mr. Slick Congressman shows up for a town forum.
I want you to think about something else. A lot of you defend the Second Amendment. This is a true story, and you should be worried. I experienced at least two warrantless searches that just got extended on the Patriot Act, as part of these revisions.
That means an FBI agent (or other police) took it upon himself to enter my house— just because he felt like it. I had been tagged for supporting FREE ELECTIONS in IRAQ and opposing torture of Iraqi detainees (complaining about Abu Ghraib tactics). See, I’m one of the “bad girls.”
When the FBI Agent entered my house with no warrant— and NO JUSTIFIABLE CAUSE– he rifled through my private office, reading my private papers, presumably taking some papers with him or photographing them. He left NO document behind to notify me that a police officer had just come through my house. He broke a filing cabinet. The second warrantless search broke my whole door, so that I had to barricade it shut with plywood. That’s how I know they returned a second time— when the grand jury was debating my indictment & they were trying to justify the accusations.
Un— f— believable.
Think on this, oh defenders of the Second Amendment.
My beloved, kind and law abiding housemate, Alyce— carried a Concealed Weapons Permit. She carries a gun on her person in case of robbery, car jacking. It’s a rough world out there. Or home invasion.
Now, imagine if poor Alyce had come home from work before me, and discovered a strange man in our house. Rifling through our possessions without a warrant. She would have no reason to expect our household to suffer a warrantless search. And think of this conversation, in real life: “Oh, I’m a police officer, TRUST ME. I’m going to put hand cuffs on you. TRUST ME.”
What if she fired on him???? Shooting a police officer would get her a life sentence. You know it.
What if a man wanted to PRETEND that he was a police officer conducting a warrantless search to gain access to her house?
Think how that conversation would end.
Upshot, men and ladies: We have rules governing police conduct for a very good reason. With justifiable cause and proper paperwork, both sides are protected from abuse. When some no good foolish SOB on Capitol Hill decides to reinvent the Constitution, all sorts of bad, bad things are sure to follow.
Think about it: What if Alyce had come home first???
Susan, along these lines, I suppose you heard about the Indiana Supreme Court ruling that police have every right to illegally enter your home without a search warrant, and that you have no right to defend yourself from them?

I first read Susan Lindauer’s brilliant essay at the Waynemadsenreport.com website as a guest article for members there, and enjoyed reading it so much that I read it a second time… She is so right – we need to be frightened enough to start doing something about ending the tyranny our government has become. The real puppet-masters remain invisible to us, hidden behind a curtain of secrecy. It’s time to raise that curtain!

The patriot act serves only one purpose now, and that’s protecting George B. from being brought into court on charges of war crimes. One main purpose for being instated.
Because this would cause many to be brought to court, has nothing to do with terrorism. Has everything to do with attempting to block any organizational efforts to pursue the above objectives.
These laws are in place to protect criminals, nothing more. That’s the real information they want..that’s the real information the last president needed.

Having lived in China for a number of years, it’s obvious to me the United States is slowly being converted into a communist country. They are following the Chinese model, step by step.
These new laws in place are being implemented permanently, and remember the Chinese lent the United States nearly a trillion dollars. The Chinese government doesn’t lend money like this; I believe this was planned as result of high level meeting in Beijing in 2006.
Here are some indicators that will help people understand the transition, in China there are government ID Cards, only certain people(s) can travel abroad (must be government approved). People can not relocate from one city to another; this must also be approved by the government (US in the future). In the US, we implemented the “War on Terror” concept, in China its person against the state. Or persons who disagree with their present government. They are considered terrorist, if Chinese person discusses democratic principles, they will be imprisoned.
Communism in China isn’t really communism, its family cartels operating government ministries. Other family members are heads of corporations as well. Its elite family cartels in permanent positions, or two class system, the elite and poor. A middle class population is considered a threat to the elite class, whose offshore accounts are located in Hong Kong (billion dollar accounts). The idea being conveyed to you, China is growing a middle class, IS A FLAT OUT LIE. You’re even being told the Chinese people are more educated, this isn’t true as well. In fact, education is very controlled in this country, no thinking out of the box. You’re being told many lies about a system, why? Ask yourself this question..
As the US transition keeps taking place, you will continue being told that Chinese Communist ideals are better, and US should adapt. It will be slow and progressive, but you will observe this on going transition.
Their false communist system is being slowly implemented in the United States and before the collapse in mid 2008, there was private meeting in Beijing. The worlds wealthiest met, what do you think they discussed? Their future trillion-dollar investment in the United States.

Maximum profit is achieved when all working class are enslaved, and are considered properties of the ones who call themselves the elite or wealthy. When they gain too much illegally, they will protect these gains at any cost.
The China deception is that hundreds of billions of US tax dollars have been lent to China over the years. And doubt, through my experience you will find much capital to support these loans, a haven for corruption. The Chinese Communist Party and our government have quite the relationship and sizable offshore accounts as well (Europe and Hong Kong).
But then you can’t audit these transactions of your tax dollars, unless your country is a democracy? And you don’t have a democracy, do you?
How do you think officials in China get away with so much corruption, through “The enemy of the state concept”, quick arrest and imprisonment! What’s strange is the “War on Terror concept” as implemented in the United States is same system, and gradually being perfected year by year.
And I’m not talking about the Chinese people, the family cartels who operate and run the government and corporations in China.
I believe the picture is much bigger, because law(s) form systems, and our system is presently undefinable.

What i find most disturbing is that entire sections/passages of the “PATRIOT ACT” are identical,verbatim to the 1929 BOLSHEVIK COMMUNIST CRIMINAL ACT.
That is because “Shirt Off” wrote the deceptively misnamed Patriot Act which took away many of our constitutional rights, he has close ties to the Mossad and he was somehow able to acquire a high position in our government (as the director of homeland security) and now he has a huge financial stake in the companies selling the airport body scanners! Right after 9/11, Chertoff also let all the Israelis go quietly back to Israel on ‘minor visa violations’ His family was not only involved in the Bolshevik Revolution that killed over 40 million Russian Christians, but some other very close family members like his sister and Rabbi uncles helped found Israel as a nation.
Another interesting fact. Michael Chertoff’s cousin Benjamin Chertoff was the head researcher who put together the 9/11 truth hit piece for Popular Mechanics Magazine back in 2006. Both of them are dual citizens for the United States and Israel, but you can’t be loyal to one country while at the same time be loyal to a foreign government, you can’t have it both ways. There’s a word for that, it’s called treason.

Nazi operation is the correct way of describing the patriot act; however the real purpose was to create a smoke screen for illegal activities. To take a manageable system and make unmanageable, point blank.

What is a terrorist?
A person or group of people who perform an act, as to, hold people hostage or against their will for political reasons. To create situation were they have unquestionable power; that can be used to obtain their objectives.
There’s confusion in the definition, it’s broad….and open too many interpretations.
The Patriot Act opened the door in the communications sector for beaches in our systems and security, presently there’s so much crime and “No one knows what is criminal and what is not anymore”. The difference between, what is criminal, and what is not, is no longer an argument. It’s simply a (perk), a (privilege) provided to those who need this system in place so they can hide from their high level crimes.
But if group planned large scale illegal operations, they could not have achieved their goals without unlimited access to all communications, and with “NO” legal authorization for monitoring.

The people, who formed the patriot act, should actually be arrested and placed in prison. They had no right to remove your rights, or modify law and create (two legal systems). The Patriot Act created two different legal systems, and is NOT LEGAL.
