The Cannabis Cure for Cancer
by Johnny Punish
Today a member of my famiily turned me on to the use of Cannabis to cure cancer. Like so many of my fellow humans, I have lost a close member of my immediate family to the cancer and so the prosect to cure cancer is always something that is of major importance to me.
Of course, it’s too late for my mother who passed via pancreatic cancer in 1984 but what about my fellow humans who will get cancer sometime in the future? Can we really beat cancer?
- Do we really have the cure for cancer at our fingertips or at the bottom of our collective bongs?
- Is the cure being stopped by greedy corporate interests who first need to figure out how to make money off a cure before they turn us on to a “marijuana” cure for cancer?
Like you, I have many questions.
Now my family member said the active ingredient in marijuana may suppress tumour invasion in highly invasive cancers. He cited research study in Germany as his source called “Inhibition of Cancer Cell Invasion by Cannabinoids via Increased Expression of Tissue Inhibitor of Matrix Metalloproteinases-1”
Okay, so Cannabinoids, the active components in marijuana, are already used medically to reduce the side effects of cancer treatment, such as pain, weight loss and vomiting. I get that. But this German study says some of the compounds may also have an anti-cancer effect. Interesting!
Seems that more research is needed to determine whether the laboratory results would hold true in humans, the authors wrote.
Dr Robert Ramer and Dr Burkhard Hinz of the University of Rostock in Germany investigated whether and by what mechanism cannabinoids inhibit tumour cell invasion. Cannabinoids did suppress tumour cell invasion and stimulated the expression of TIMP-1, an inhibitor of a group of enzymes that are involved in tumour cell invasion. “To our knowledge, this is the first report of TIMP-1-dependent anti-invasive effects of cannabinoids,” the two researchers said in a joint statement at the time of their findings.
“This signalling pathway may play an important role in the anti-metastatic action of cannabinoids, whose potential therapeutic benefit in the treatment of highly invasive cancers should be addressed in clinical trials,” the authors said. Seems to me that we’re on to something right?
Now check out this video filmed in 2006 of Dr. Robert Melamede, Professor of Biology at the University of Colorado. He explains how the body’s Endo-Cannabinoid system (and plant based Cannabinoids as suppliment) kills cancer cells and inhibits tumor growth.
CANNABINOIDS: POTENTIAL ANTICANCER AGENTS by Manuel Guzmán
Cannabinoids — the active components of Cannabis sativa and their derivatives — exert palliative effects in cancer patients by preventing nausea, vomiting and pain and by stimulating appetite. In addition, these compounds have been shown to inhibit the growth of tumour cells in culture and animal models by modulating key cell-signalling pathways. Cannabinoids are usually well tolerated, and do not produce the generalized toxic effects of conventional chemotherapies. So, could cannabinoids be used to develop new anticancer therapies? Refering to “Homeostatic Regulation” of several body systems by Cannabinoids, Dr. Melamede concludes that Cannabis is indeed a “Miracle Drug”, also recommending hemp oil as excellent source of EFAs the body needs to fight disease.

The sole source supplier of Marinol and the “generic” Dronabinol stands to make a handsome profit at $20 per pill for these products if they are approved for cancer treatment. One has to wonder that if THC was first synthesized in the 1970s and the patent must surely have expired long ago, why must there be a sole source foreign supplier? Couldn’t US companies turn out this stuff as a generic for pennies?
The sole source supplier has also developed a test that can determine if the THC in an individual’s urine came from their product or plant material or a combination of both, just in case any legal questions arise.
I watched my mother die a slow, painful, horrible death from Ovarian Cancer.
But it wasn’t the Cancer that actually killed her; it was that poisonous chemotherapy and that nauseating radiation that made her so sick, she couldn’t keep down her food.
SHE STARVED TO DEATH.
I’ve always wondered if a little marijuana would’ve helped overcome the nausea from government sanctioned cancer fighting agents and gave her a fighting chance.
Nicotine, the most addictive drug known to man, is legal and the end result is that around 400,000 ‘nic addicts’ die each year from smoking cigarettes.
How many Americans died last year from smoking pot?
Its much much bigger than that. In 1937 DuPont with Anslinger made it very difficult to continue producing Hemp the male plant and Cannabis the female plant (Medicine) because that plant threatens more industries that you can imagine.
Energy, Tobacco, Alcohol, Textiles, Big Pharma
Cannabis was the number one doctor prescribed drug till 1906 and number 2 till 1937 till big business made it impossible to cultivate.
Here is a little snippet of what can be done with hemp.

It is a world class and extremely well done one hour lecture that compliments this article. See it and tell others.
