A Murdoch-produced scandal

By Kourosh Ziabari

The scandalous closure of the “News of the World” tabloid after 168 years of publication once again demonstrated the Western media’s lack of adherence to codes of ethics and morality in journalism and showed to the international community that what is advertised as the freedom of speech in the West is nothing but unrestrained violation of the privacy of innocent citizens and betrayal to the common values of a civil society.

The “News of the World” was voluntarily closed down on July 10, 2011 after it was revealed that the staff and workers at the magazine had been clandestinely hacking the phone conversations of a number of high-ranking public figures in the UK including politicians, members of Royal Household and also ordinary citizens for many years. This unprecedented incident hugely damaged the reputation of the Zionist media mogul Rupert Murdoch and his News Corporation and stirred a widespread controversy all over the UK.

Controversy around the News of the World, a subsidiary of Murdoch’s News Corporation originally started in August 2006, when the Metropolitan Police of the UK sued Clive Goodman, the magazine’s royal editor, and Glenn Mulcaire, a close associate of Goodman and a private investigator for the allegation that they intercepted voicemail messages left for the cell phones of the members of Royal Family. They were both pleaded guilty and sentenced to prison in 2007. However, the allegations of phone hacking continued in the subsequent years and several public figures were targeted by the interceptions. In February 2010, The Guardian revealed that two UK telecommunication companies complained that over a hundred of their customers’ phone calls and voicemail messages were hacked by unknown sources; however, independent reports and Scotland Yard’s inquiry show that more than 4,000 people have been victimized by the phone hacking affair.

According to the Vancouver Sun, the News Corporation officials are facing demands to appear before the House of Commons “to answer allegations that they suppressed evidence of widespread illegal activity at the News of the World. The company is under mounting scrutiny following revelations that an internal inquiry in 2007 gathered “smoking gun” emails showing that several of its journalists were hacking mobile phones and making payments to police officers.”

As said by the report published on the Vancouver Sun’s July 11 issue, the News of the World editors and staff writers have been involved in stealing the British citizens’ email correspondences and phone conversations and paying bribes to the police officers since almost four years ago, but the evidence indicating these criminal activities have been seized by the Scotland Yard a few weeks ago.

“The evidence was only passed to the police last month, four years after it was collected. During that time, James Murdoch, European chief executive of News International, personally authorized at least one substantial settlement payment to a victim of phone hacking, in exchange for signing a gagging clause,” the report added.

The newspapers and news agencies have revealed that James Murdoch, the son of Zionist media mogul Rupert Murdoch and the European chief executive of News International has been personally involved in several cases of phone hacking and paid bribes to a number of victims to convince them not to publicize the matter in the media and withdraw their complaints from the national courts.

Charlotte Harris of the law firm Mishcon de Reya, which represents several of the victims seeking damages from the News of the World believe that the British tabloid will be sentenced to pay at least £20m to those whose privacy has been violated; however, according to some reports, the total amount of the compensation to be paid by the News of the World can reach to £40m.

According to The Economist, “privacy law in Britain is a late arrival, derived mainly from the European Convention on Human Rights and built up through judicial interpretation. The size of the awards against the News of the World will depend on the view taken by Sir Geoffrey Vos, a High Court judge, of the actual damage to hacking victims, as well as of the intrusion itself, when he hears test cases later this year.”

Now the whole world cautiously follows the developments in the UK to see what actions will be taken by the government to bring justice to those who have been flagrantly violating the privacy of British citizens for so many years. Unquestionably, the phone hacking scandal is not a trivial matter to be neglected irresponsibly. What has taken place is that the most private information and communications of British citizens, from the most high-ranking members of the Royal Family to the most ordinary citizen working in a restaurant have been mischievously and illegally monitored and collected by the staff and personnel of a magazine which is owned by a Zionist billionaire and media mogul. This is not something which can be gotten away with recklessly.

Although it is a conventional and familiar tradition in the Western countries such as the United Kingdom or the United States to listen in the phone communications or electronic correspondences of citizens on baseless allegations such as precluding terrorist activities, the NoW affair is a particular case as it implicates journalists and reporters who are supposed to be the trustees of people in the society, but unfortunately, these trustees have become traitors and trampled the principles of morality and decency underfoot.

Now, it’s the responsibility of Murdoch and his men to explain to the public opinion the reasons why they stigmatized the reputation of thousands of people and stole their personal information for commercial purposes. Even their apologizing to the victims of phone hacking whose valuable personal information and private communications have been stolen cannot appease the pains of these victims. It’s for sure that the history will not forgive Murdoch and NoW staff for this disgustful and loathsome offense.

  1. A rant.

It’s all about the jews stupid!

    It’s all about the money.

Woke up this morning and felt a sense of clarity about what is really happening.

The USA and israel are siblings. Their common creator is the original city of London financiers.

The ruling class on earth until around 1400 were the kings and queens and their families. They all intermarried in order to keep the money and power contained and controlled by the fraction of one percent of the population.

As non-royal (normal) people began to be educated, first as priests and then in all manner of professions, the “royal blood line” justification for the rulers and serfs began to wear thin.

The common man, as he became more educated and aware, was less and less inclined to accept a system where he toiled and the royal rulers kicked back and lived luxeriously 24/7 without doing anything resembling work.

What to do? The ruling royal class didn’t want to work, they wanted to party and pursue the arts at their own leisure.

The fateful beheading of all the French royals naturally gave the royal family members living in the other countries serious reason to pause.

What to do? How to keep control of the money and power and still keep your head? A conundrum.

Necessity is said to be the mother of invention. The solution presented itself by its own volition. A goldsmith family in Germany had set up a very lucrative scam where they handed out more IOU’s for gold than they had in their safe. This family had been so successful with this scam they had acquired many properties and companies and were trying to “buy” into nobility status in the countries where they successfully operated.

A deal was struck. The goldsmith scammers would be allowed to integrate and marry into the ranks of nobility if they would use their scam to preserve the money and power in those same royal families.

From the common working man’s point of view this was the deal from hell because it entrenched he and his fellow (non-royal and non-scamming) man to a kind of peasant status forever. One where now both the royals and the scammers could kick back and party 24/7 with out doing any real work.

When the new world was being settled this same royal scam was operating all over europe and in many other parts of the world. That is why the wise founding fathers put into writing that the issuing of money 1) shall be gold and coins only [not fractional fiat], 2) that no one except the government shall issue money.

Patriotism is said to be tyrany wrapped in a flag, and religion is the justification of atrocities disguised as serving the “right” god.

It is through fractional fiat and usury that the whole world is kept subjugated to the royal scammers.

God created all men and women equal.
Royal scammers are not more equal than others anymore than brown people are less equal than others.

The fractional fiat and usury control of the people and their governments, and the acceptance of a priviledged nobility really needs to end.

Bailouts, restructuring, etc. will never solve the problem. A one world government and a one world currency would entrench the problem even more (if that is even possible).

Nope. The whole way the world is structured by man has to change. That means TPTB may all have to lose their heads in order to end the royal scam.

  2. Oh dear poor Rupert

Senate commerce committee chairman Jay Rockefeller has asked the authorities to investigate if any journalists working for Rupert Murdoch had targeted US citizens, and warned of “serious consequences” for the media group if that were the case.

The Democratic senator is the first noteworthy figure in Congress to call for an investigation into the phone-hacking scandal, which on Sunday resulted in the closure of the 168-year-old News of the World, after the paper was accused of hacking into the phones of murdered teenager Milly Dowler and the families of British soldiers killed in action, as well as celebrities and politicians.

Murdoch is a major player in the US media landscape, owning the New York Post, Wall Street Journal, Fox News and publisher Harper Collins.

In a written statement, Rockefeller expressed concern that victims of 9/11 and their families could have been targeted by News Corporation journalists, although he did not offer any evidence to suggest that may be the case.

“I encourage the appropriate agencies to investigate to ensure that Americans have not had their privacy violated,” he said.

  3. If any of News Limited staff in the USA are found guilty of bribery then News Limited could be prosecuted for it in the UK regardless of the bribery laws in the USA.

The extra-territorial reach of the UK Bribery Act means that a company with a jurisdictional link to the UK can be prosecuted for the actions of a non-British person outside the UK. So an American company carrying on business in the UK can be prosecuted for acts done by its employees, subsidiaries and agents in America or any other country. American companies thus would be wise to expressly forbid employees, subsidiaries and agents from offering any form of payments that are not absolutely correct for services rendered.

Under the British law it will be no defence to argue that you were complying with American law or ‘didn’t know’. Responsible persons must act proactively because the Act also introduces a corporate offence of failing to prevent bribery.

  4. Kourosh – At least the west has a free press……

TEHRAN (AFP) — The Iranian press watchdog shut down leading reformist newspaper Kargozaran on Wednesday over publication of a piece criticising Palestinian militants, the official IRNA news agency reported.

“Kargozaran has been banned over a media offence and the case has been referred to the court,” Mohammad Parvizi, who is in charge of domestic media at the culture ministry, told IRNA.
    (Dec 2008)

(Reuters) – Iran has temporarily closed down the newspaper of leading reformist Mehdi Karoubi, who angered hardliners by saying some opposition protesters had been raped in jail, the website of his party said. (Aug 2009)

(Reuters) – Iran banned a prominent reformist newspaper on Monday, one of the few still allowed to operate since the aftermath of June’s disputed election, state news agencies reported.
The Press Supervisory Board banned Bahar daily “for repeatedly violating the press law”, the semi-official FARS news agency said. (Apr 2010)

    • If the West has free press, how come they all synchronously say the same things about important issues? They differ more on weather broadcast than where the inflation and government debts come from. The West has Freedom of Press, not “Free Press”. The press in the West is owned and enslaved by the Jewish bankers. They abuse the Freedom of Press law to lay down the largest spy network to serve their own dynasty. Iran does not have Freedom of Press per se, but it does have Free Press. When they step out of the mediocre freedom of expression domain they get hit. But nonetheless, average Iranians seem to be politically better educated than their counter part in the West.

      • Right. I guess this site and it commentors are part of the free press.

        • Persian is the second frequently used language on the entire blogsphere. Iran is the third-largest country of bloggers in the world after the United States and China. Iranians own and run one million out of 100 million blogs in the world. You may want to get yourself up to speed.

            http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,,14958815,00.html

There is a large difference between being able to blog what you want (ie, crticism of the Iranian government and its policies) and “blogging”.

You don’t know how good you’ve got it.

          • =>Paul,
Hossein Derakhshan is not in jail because he ‘blogged’. In fact he had changed his political viewpoint from hostile to supportive for more than a year before going to Iran. No one understood how and why he changed his views and why he went back from Canada. But we do know he had visited Israel and stayed for a few months (or weeks) right around the time he started gradually morphing into a supporter. His explanation for why he went to Israel fell far short from convincing. May be the authorities knew more about him than he thought they did. We do not know. Either way the number of jailed bloggers in Iran may not exceed too far from the those in jail in the Western countries for question Holocaust.

  5. david A. White

I KNOW THAT YOU ARE FROM ONE OF THE STANS, CRAWL BACK AND SEE IF YOU CAN PRINT WHAT YOU WANT IN THE GREAT MUSLIM STANS. it is bad enough that we have to listen to our dipshits without importing more.

    • david
I take it you are not from one of them STANS, you are an ameriCAN. so why don’t you crawl back into your CAN and numb your brain (if there is any) with some more of the corporate propaganda you call free press.

  6. Kourosh – you’ve learned the ways of your Iranian leaders well: no comments allowed for fear someone will intelligently, cogently and rightly disagree with me.

Kourosh does not allow comments on his latest article.
