Verizon Joins HireVeterans.com to Employ US Veterans
Transitioning Military
Re-posted from the Verizon website by Randy Miller
Verizon would like to remember all those who served and are now serving our country around the world. Verizon salutes our military families.
You stand strong. So does Verizon. Because of a team that does mission-critical work on revolutionary products and services. A team that serves our customers and our country with technology that helps keep our country safe. Because of people who care about higher ideals both inside and outside of work. This is your chance to be empowered. To connect with other team members who are ready to meet the challenges of a 100-megabit digital society.
Verizon employs 13,000 U.S. veterans. People who have served their country proudly. People who help us rise to meet new challenges. Who inspire us to do more. To honor those who continue to serve, we offer an enhanced Emergency Military Leave policy. These benefits which greatly exceed the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) provide the difference between an employee’s base pay and the military base pay for up to 36 months. Medical, dental, vision, and group life insurance for employees and dependents continue on the same terms as for active employees for those who are called up for active duty and for those who voluntarily enlist.
Match Your Skills to Our Careers

Will be interesting to see how Verizon announcement plays out considering recent moves to cut benefits and work force. Announcement is in contradiction to management initiatives leaked to information sites in recent weeks, which leaves a nasty assumption.
It’s interesting that this is happening at the same time they’ve announced that they will be using Blackwater (whatever it’s called now) to do their security.
Verizon does not pay sh!t. It’s commission, no sell no money. Adios Mo Fo.
Verizon can BURN IN HELL after what they did do My son and about a dozen or so others (probably many more) when they deployed to Iraq. They erroneously charged a cancellation fee which they agreed not to do if he submitted his deployment orders which he did. So they started calling me but since I didn’t own the account they “refused” to talk to me about it. Ten a Supervisor I spoke to said I was Lying and that I was my Son and was lying to get out of paying the bill. After several Complaints through the BBB etc, they finally admitted they had the orders and cancelled the Cancellation fee which was HUGE. So then I tried to get them to drop the late fees and charges based on the fraudulent charge, they flat out refused. None of this takes into account the damage they did to My Credit report(yes it ended up on mine too) and my Sons plus all the screaming calls from Bill Collectors literally dozens of times a day. I will never forgive this horrible company and they will never see any business from me nor will I do any business with anyone associated with them..
When they came back, I asked i the barracks if anyone else had the Verizon problem and at least a dozen came up and said YES, same thing.
