Libya Intelligence Officer Defects, Evidence of Payments to Journalists by Gaddafi

GADDAFI MERCENARY FROM CHAD, WOUNDED AND CAPTURED APRIL 7, 2011

Payment Records to Media/Bloggers/Activists by Gaddafi in Rebel Hands

By Gordon Duff, Senior Editor

Reliable sources in Libya, both with rebel forces and in Tripoli have verified that records of payments made to activists, journalists, bloggers and other media personnel by Gaddafi have been turned over to rebel forces.

The rebels, under the authority of the National Transitional Council,  constitute the legally recognized government of Libya in the instances of criminal jurisdiction, even in areas currently under the control of Colonel Gaddafi.

Included is a list of names, some very well known, some less well known, including records of payments, email correspondence and lists of specific articles.

Some named are still in Tripoli while others have are in the US, Britain and Western Europe.  Received from representatives of the National Transitional Council, the recognized government of Libya:

We’ve received a number of documents detailing rates for articles published and blogposts posted, with the highest rates being paid for articles that make it into the mainstream media (2,000 USD per article) and the lowest (500 USD per item) for blogposts of more than 700 words.  Those who XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX are paid 15,000 USD per day spent there, plus 3,000 USD per article datelined Tripoli or another Gaddafi-held area.

Along with this, we have received reports from VT staffers on the ground with the rebels outlining specifics of all foreign weapons delivered, where, how much, to whom, etc.  We will get these out as soon as possible.

We will not name any American or British nationals involved until they are out of harms way.  Releasing names based on documents, no matter how reliable we may deem the source, is not excusable despite the public’s interest in pointing fingers.

As the rebel government has been recognized, since July 15 by the United States, Britain and other key powers, there are unseen potential legal ramifications tied to, not only war crimes, but for being unregistered foreign agents. Acceptance of payments from the Gaddafi regime (including funds deposited via a Gadaffi controlled corporation and then paid to an ‘agent’) is also considered “money laundering” in accordance with both US law and international convention. Each article is a felony count and there is a past history of prosecutions on the statute.

[Editors observation: Jim W. Dean: Over the past several months we have been receiving pro-Gaddafi submissions.  Articles reflected 'talking points', and had a spam quality to them...Suspicions confirmed.]

We have submitted questions to rebel leaders as to whether they plan to use the documents they have to begin criminal prosecutions, including extradition or may be amenable to rethinking their position after the situation has had a cooling off period.  Minimally, the legal government of Libya is going to want their money back.

We are awaiting their response.

Featuring a floating bridge in the center of a reflecting pool, the garden provides a beautiful outdoor setting for weddings and parties of up to 500 people.

Meeting, wedding and event planners can also take advantage of the Lakeview Terrace – a newly transformed 4,400-square-foot deck on the second floor of the resort that features outdoor fireplaces and space for up to 300 people.

  1. Gordon, I’ve read through all the posts. I cannot believe that there is any humanitarian reason for the illegal NATO war in Libya. As another poster suggested, bring NATO to the US and bomb the “terrorists” there.

Have you heard of Clif High of http://www.halfpasthuman.com? I have been getting his updates regularly for years now. His post as of yesterday is worth reading: http://halfpasthuman.com/PMF.html

I’m trying to figure out where you’re coming from on this “war is good – Libya better off without Gadhaffi” post. Iraqis were NOT better off after Saddam was killed and their country destroyed.

However, the central bank owners (Rothschild etc) are much better off now that they control Iraq and Libya. Interesting that in those two countries the people were freer than in any other middle eastern dictatorship, and had a much, much higher living standard than most. In fact, Iraq was heading for first world country status. Not now of course.

Your readers are very aware. Please give us the truth, which as always is somewhere in the middle.

Anyway, if you can give us a better reason than you have so far for this humanitarian catastrophe brought on by NATO (just another one) I would be very pleased to read it. I have become totally pacifist as I have read and learned that ALL wars only benefit the banksters. This one is no different.

    • We always knew the truth, Gaddafi was a thug, tied to the CIA and Bush.
Now because of paying off a few minor crooks in the conspiracy media, i have a couple of dozen folks here crying croc tears over his tragedy

he isn’t going to be able to murder people anymore…not so easily at least

  2. Absolute rubbish.

  3. Not catatonic yet, though it might be preferable to the heartbreak of watching the future being dismantled day after day around me.

  4. Seems to me the Chosenites are following the same strategy they followed when they started WWI. Assassinate some leaders, sow as much ethnic tension as possible everywhere to provide plenty of alibi’s and deniability, play everyone against everyone else and pay enough money to get your own puppets in power. When the shooting starts hide under your desk in the power centers, then crawl out to inflict vigilante justice on anyone you had a grudge against who’s still alive.

It seems pretty clear that Gaddafi and the rebels are both backed by Israel but it’s still not entirely clear what their endgame for Libya is. We already know what they have in mind for the world as a whole…..

WWI worked out just splendidly for the Choesenites, and the sequel (WWII) was even better.

  5. Dear Gordon,

Maybe you have never pretended to be anti-war; I wouldn’t know. But you surely are not. Where do you want our low-paid IMF mercenaries [the members of our country’s military] to go next? Your writing and website affects the world, and with your stand for war in Libya, you indicate you like some wars and would choose to send more young Americans to their deaths.

You are working as a war propagandist, so it wouldn’t matter to you that this war being waged by NATO in Libya is illegal under international law: http://weekly.ahram.org.eg/2011/1040/re111.htm.

You’ve been helping with this: RIP: America’s Anti-War Movement: http://warisacrime.org/content/rip-americas-anti-war-movement. Inexcusable for a man with your experience.

You even put up a post by Sky News [knowing that Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation owns 39% of Sky News' parent company BskyB.] (http://www.veteranstoday.com/2011/08/18/libya-todays-video-report-from-sky-news/) because you were so happy the IMF warriors are winning.

Eastern Libya is controlled by NATO [not the NTC] and administered by the Libyan Information Exchange Mechanism (LIEM), established in Naples by the United States, although some of its employees are Italians. This is the Office of Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance (OTRH) for Libya.

In Baghdad, Washington had first installed the Office of Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance – ORHA, headed by General Jay Garner. It was later discovered that OHRA had been created by a secret presidential directive signed before Iraq war debate at the Security Council. Contrary to what its title might suggest, this organization was attached to the Pentagon. In all likelihood, the same applies to LIEM although, officially, its director is an Italian.

In Baghdad, ORHA was quickly absorbed by the Coalition Provisional Authority – CPA, headed by L. Paul Bremer III, who exercised all the powers for one year. CPA was neither an international law nor U.S. law entity, but a private company. However, it still remains unclear where it was registered and who were the shareholders. The only thing we know for sure is that the CPA was engaged in the systematic looting of the country and did not withdraw until it forced the future Iraqi government to accept asymmetrical laws guaranteeing multinationals the right to exploit the country for 99 more years.

Not surprisingly, one can expect that, once a cease-fire is in force, the LIEM will be absorbed in Benghazi by a kind of CPA.

Gordon’s IMF/World Bank NWO victory in Libya.

    • Samuel
The provisional authority will likely become a borrower.
On the other hand, Gaddafi was a major profiteer lender, picking up 37 billion in ‘fed’ profits alone.
Gaddafi has always been part of the game, just on the profit making side.
My guess is that you know nothing whatsoever about international credit.
On the other hand, I am a retired banking official who worked in this capacity.
You are simply operating on wild rumors, bizarre plots and speculation.
As for ‘anti-war,’ any idiot knows I am a charter member of Vets for Peace.

      • Name a single person being paid to write who admits he is being paid. What you say is word-for-word what all paid propagandists say.

Also, what’s the big deal about being paid by a “war criminal.” Who is a “war criminal” … Dracula, the bogeyman, Old Scratch, Barack Obama, Lyndon Johnson, Robert McNamara, Nick Sarkozy …. As a willing participant in the Viet Nam holocaust you were paid by war criminals as well. I’m not condemning you for it, but neither am I going to allow you a free ride taking the moral high ground as if your hands have not also been soaked in the blood of innocent people. How dare you point fingers at others without pointing them at yourself in this respect.

In the news of the hour, what is vitally important is NATO in Libya – the stated purpose of the no-fly and the actuality. You can blab all day about how evil Gathafi is and it doesn’t hold water. One fact stands on its own – he is no more evil than all the war contractor criminals you dealt with or any of the heads-of-state you had dealings with. Not one iota worse. Someone got paid to write stories? Yaaawn. Wow, that’s really revealing news. Evil Gathafi actually paid folks to place favorable stories? Wow, Gordon, you’re really proving to us that there is something exclusive about Gathafi’s evil. NOT. It is done all day, every day, every country of the entire world. So what’s your point? No, you are not just “reporting” as you say and will have your readers believe. There are at least a few million unrelated things to “report.” Your “reports” are directed to make a point. Just in case, your reporting is not enough – and often it isn’t, you spice up the reports by real Foxesque name-calling: clown, pimp, idiot … yaaaaaaaawn. I’m sure Fox would have a few choice names for you as well – none of which would mean a damn thing to me. All they do is diminish themselves by it and so do you.

    • Samuel,
You are aware that there is more than minor possibility that Gaddafi may actually BE a member of the Rothschild family. For certain, he is partnered with them, more than minor proof of that. His son and Nate Rothschilld are inseparable. They have been very helpful with Gaddafi’s personal forturne, many billions, lend out at interest. You think Gaddafi’s African banking scheme’s weren’t “more of the same?”
All he was doing was pushing “central bank” for his Rothschild partners under the guise of AUB.
I have met with and talked to the banking leaders of SA, Ghana and Nigeria.
This was my job at one point.
You don’t begin to what to know what I learned and I am NOT able to print it.
      g

  6. Truth is the first casualty of war. It is a known fact the U.S. State dept. under Hitlery Clinton has been funding the rebels many of whom are al CIAduh as well as Muslim Brotherhood. It is a fact the U.S. has been throwing huge amounts of money around the middle east which was used to create the Arab Spring.
This is Washington at work folks. Doing what it always does: when Israhell says shit, the government in Washington drops its pants.
Gaddafi may not be the greatest middle eastern leader but there have been worse, funded by the U.S. simply take a good look at the rest of the Arab regimes fully supported by the U.S. …I wouldn’t want to live there either.
Methinks there is something more going on here than we know: Is it about oil, gold, or its bank? Or is it to secure another middle eastern nation into the NWO fold.
Gordon, things like this can go both ways. The info you have obtained may also be planted material..I would also be very suspicious if this came from the rebels. The CIA, MI5 or mosadd could very easily plant this material so it could easily fall into the hands of the rebels. This is an old KGB trick as well. They did this to good ole J.Edgar concerning MLK jr. planting phoney documents stating MLK jr. was being supported by the Soviets.
So it does swing both ways my dear. In this day and age anything is possible. You may be correct about this but you may also have fallen for one of the oldest tricks in the book.
One this is for sure….this assault on Libya has nothing to do with getting rid of Gaddafi and installing a democratic government. The people of Libya will end up in a worse situation. For what it’s worth, the U.S. has never promoted any democracy anywhere, except here in America and look where it’s gotten us.

  7. You are shameless, Duff. When the time comes, you will be held accountable for wartime atrocities along with everyone else.

    • Hey McGee
Friends of yours taking bribes from war criminals?
      Not surprised.
You sound like a total idiot. You must be a Bush supporter or Israeli stooge like your friends and Mr. Gaddafi, the Rothschild front man.

Gordon’s IMF/World Bank NWO victory in Libya.

  9. Utterly childish. This is no different than promoting a policy of installing CC cameras in all public restroom cubicles because we have just obtained credible information that some unnecessarily flush too many times.

  10. NASCAR is about to start….hold the wars for 3 hours please……..who did cardash marry?

  11. well wait and see… al qaeddafi or NTC no difference for the people, oil and gas not their own property the endgame is a civil war like in iraq… egypt revolution is bought by saudi money who are imposing fake liberal or corrupt Muslim political groups these groups will be fare more harsh on the Palestinian than Mubarak was, it is this way that Israel wants to conduct her business… but you need millions on the ground to establish this plan, or a major great war in the ME to show that Muslims can’t rule by themselves, this is called deception…

  12. I agree with Penumbra.
I am a Canadian. Our current government is up Israel’s arse. How would that make it any different than Gaddafi? Murdoch (Israel) has propagandists in every country.
The difference with Libya, (like Syria) is that the “regime” has the support of the majority of the population. Clark may be a liar, but unless he is a pathological liar, he will also tell the truth, albeit sometimes accidentally. I think he is credible when he says there were plans to invade Iraq, Libya, and Syria when Bush took power. The Israeli’s own your government, Gordon, just as they own mine. The invasions in the Middle East are all about power: the power to control resources and money. Since Libya (Gaddafi) has socked away 100+ tons of undeclared gold reserves no one will miss it when it’s gone, right? The precious water that Gaddafi has put to use for Libyans can be diverted or tankered, right?

Of course Gaddafi is a crook, but name a leader of one Western country that isn’t. The “pro democracy/Arab Spring” line is pure un-adulterated bullshit. The rebels were never a spontaneous group, they have been manufactured in the Afghani mujahadeen mould by the usual suspects.

  13. Clarke is a total bullshitter, an israeli shill. There will be no moves by the NTC on Israel…..only the realization that Gaddafi has left Libya in much the condition that East Germany was in.
    Useless.

  14. what Gordon is saying about Al Qaeddafi is true and have been proven to be the truth, but putting any credit to NTC in Benghazi is not wise, they were, all of them, under al Qaeddafi and with him in their relation to Israel including the fake al Qaeda mercenaries nexus form the saudis-israeli-us-uk-france networks and the war criminals in the US and UK, they felt in the trap of the civil war and they will pay for it as they are not supposed to survive this war, you will see all the key members of the NTC in Benghazi will be killed, this way the country will be annexed to Israel, like parts of Egypt, as the war won’t stop with the Al Qaeddafi family leaving, it was planned like this to ensure Israeli supremacy… Now those who understood this and active in the ground know that Libya won’t produce any more gas and oil even in NATO has 2 millions men in the ground it is impossible to defend the plants… we are heading towards a new oil shock in the coming months

Accusation from Clark on Tenet about Saudi involvement in 911 an death squad operations in Eilat are all related to this plan, dismantle Egypt, destroy the binding peace agreement frist with Norway then Egypt, then Jordan, expel the palestinians… Israel wants the full control of the oil and gas in the GMO, Rothschield control over gasoline and oil industry is no more an advantage if Russian and Chinese, Brazil are capable of doing refinery and create a parallel system… Israel is to invade Saudi Arabia, Libya and Syria using NATO mercenaries and local puppets such as the NCT, the emir of Qatar etc..

  15. Charlotte NC Bill

Listen Big G; I just want true enemies of the NWO/Israel to come to power in all these ME countries bc that’s what the real bad guys deserve…I know the Saudis are Mossad scum..Bahrain works with them too..that’s what happens when you don’t have the support of you’re own people; you’ll reach out for any muddy hand that’s offered..The armed militants in Syria seem like Wahabi-type Sunnis who hate an Alawi Muslim in charge of Syria and separatist Kurds-always well-armed..Yet our lieing media makes them sound like peaceful democrats…Azzaziah says the NED/CIA has been arming them since ’04..

    • Bill
First place to look is Egypt…which is being ignored while these ‘sideshows’ go on.
The revolution there is being stolen.
      g

  16. hey, i just report this crap…
but…nobody is paying me for it either

    • It is all about banking!

How come that a bunch of rebels create their own Central bank back in march, before they even have a government?
Libya, like Iran,Syria and Iraq(under Hussein) is not listed among the 56 member banks of the Bank of International Settlements(BIS).
See Ellen Brown’s article (she is the president of the Public Banking Institute) from the 8th April 2011

      http://www.webofdebt.com/articles/libya.php

      • Bingo Mark II………..end of discussion, always the wizard behind the curtain. While we all argue, they win. Presstitues, who’s shooting at who? Who cares? Masterfully done by the banking cartels per usual. Israel buys how many mercs in the beginning of all this? Who owns Israel? Oh yeah, those trillionaire Rothschildes. Start your day off like this; whatever you see or hear, believe the opposite, it pays more because you can literally bank on it. Pun intended. Gordon must get sick of being the messenger all the time. For those not up on their history this is imperial, but a different flavor for different reasons. Mare Nostrum is what it’s called actually. Last time the powers had a swastica and needed to control “our sea-mare nostrum”, before that it was Carthage interrupting business. Now they need banker friendly nations in “our sea” and to further expand on into the muslim psyche. Do you know what Qadaffi was going to do shortly before all this happened? Well, it would never be allowed to happen, not while usury is our system of government. Sadam tried it, Iran is currently trying it on a small island in the Strait of Hormuz, and Chavez is going to as well. Pretty much sums up the people we bomb and are planning to bomb.

    • [We’ve received a number of documents detailing rates for articles published and blogposts posted, with the highest rates being paid for articles that make it into the mainstream media (2,000 USD per article) and the lowest (500 USD per item) for blogposts of more than 700 words. Those who XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX are paid 15,000 USD per day spent there, plus 3,000 USD per article datelined Tripoli or another Gaddafi-held area.]
Hell, Duff, at those rates (and as prolific and high profile as you are) you should seriously consider going mainstream doing hasbara for Gaddafi.

  17. Charlotte NC Bill

The Bush regime was paying “journalists” to pull stuff out of their butt and put it in print or on the TV….aren’t we the pot calling the kettle….

    • gaddafi is bush
      always has been
      blair too
      giuliani is gaddafi’s lawyer
his pr is done by the heritage foundation
      and the AEI
ask yourself, why would gaddafi have hired these monkey’s after 9/11?
this should be a no brainer
people just do what they do…..some take money…some lie..some do what they do to survive
i don’t make up the rules
      i don’t even judge

  18. Whew, just read Lendman’s article, then this? Um, don’t get it.

  19. Any use of force by the US government — the regime behind 9/11 and an endless list of global atrocities — must be regarded with utmost suspicion.

  20. G, Trusting reports from Controlled News Network?, surely not.

As for the armed insurrection being legitimized by governments you have just spent the past week indicting as little more than criminal cartels under the control of the Murdoch matrix, sorry but once again the yellow card of consistent principle has to be raised.

Using that argument (and lamestream “news” support) you’ll have to start calling the Talmudic enclave “legitimate” since it has long enjoyed recognition by the criminals in Washington, London, Paris, Berlin (previously Bonn) and of course NYC.

Like it or not, Libya has and has had a fully sovereign recognized government in Tripoli, regardless of recent illegal disavowals by Western powers and their NWO front. Sovereignty and legitimacy are not matters subject to the momentary whims of grasping hegemonic vultures – however big their armies -, otherwise you as much as concede that the rule of law means nothing. If that was the case, then again, the consistent application of principle makes your further suggestion of war crimes charges entirely moot.

But on that score, you would best take a close look at those “rebels” you seem to believe are such trustworthy sources of “intel”. They themselves are candidates for numerous crimes against humanity. Simply because they are declared “legal” doesn’t make them “Lawful” (I encourage you to research the difference between the two terms).

And no G, no money coming to this voice in the wilderness.

    • correction: third para should read ….”regardless of recent UNLAWFUL disavowals…” (not “illegal”).

why are you in total denial of gaddafi’s long term partnership with the neocons and israel?
where the hell were you after 9/11?
the other side of the asteroid belt?

      • Other side of the Atlantic certainly. After 9/11 as on 9/11 I saw that event for what it was, did you?

As for Libya, why do you incessantly reduce the entire issue down to Gaddhafi himself, as the MSM has endeavored to inculcate into the mind of the populace. Libya is not Gaddhafi, the sovereignty of Libya is not enshrined in Gaddhafi (any more than the sovereignty of Iraq was not enshrined in the person of Saddam), neither are the principles of Law in which we ourselves root our own sovereignty enshrined in the criminal cabal in Washington – which since Lincoln has masqueraded as the progeny of our organic founding government (which it is not).

Nevertheless, you continue to endorse foreign interventionism, picking a side in a civil war in which we have no LAWFUL right to be entangled nor to make proscriptions as to outcomes.

Is that conceptual framework so alien to you that you must resort to ad hominems every time you are challenged on matters of principle? Once you open the door to such justifications you lend license to others to say the same things of us one day when the next power arises and presumes to invade our soil and dictate which faction is legitimate to rule.

Hell, forget “one day”, the principle you espouse on this issue lends credence to the Talmudic enclave’s presumption to dictate who holds the reins and who doesn’t in D.C. When will you open your eyes and see this?

Did Chinese delegation travel to Libya to observe and support the rebels, of course.

        • Gordon,

It’s late….you know the previous comments made are dangerous for me. But I want to ask you several questions, 1) Which two countries are among the largest Police States in the world? 2) Who converted the US into a Police State? 3) Would you trust the partnership between these police states? 4) Is the US the same, or different now? Because if nothing has changed, then the same people are making the decisions.

Rethink and look closer at this relationship…it may not be would you believe….

Given that, watch closely…..Middle East and Africa.

      • gordon what wrong with you the west is lieing and you are the same so my advice just shut up rebels lie get use to it

  21. Off topic: here’s the picture of a 5 year old terrorist that Israel killed in Gaza:

I apologize if you were disturbed by this picture for a moment.

    • What does this have to do with anything? Gaddafi has killed thousands more people than Israel has in its entire history.
It’s ok to hate Israel, but let’s focus on the pain of the Libyans for now.
