Marines Heading to Wall Street to Protect Protesters
This is a war against people who are utilizing their constitutional rights.
by Tim King
(SALEM, Ore.) – The protesters on Wall Street will soon have the protection of United States Marines who will form a human wall between the crowds of tireless protesters and the increasingly unpopular New York cops who continue to appear on YouTube in scenes that twist the insides of patriotic Americans.
Michael Hayne, a Comedian and Columnist who has contributed to NY Times Laugh Lines, guest-blogged for Joe Biden, and writes a column for MSNBC.com affiliated Cagle, wasn’t joking when he related the information this weekend on the Website Addicting Info.
[Editor's Note: If ever the Veterans Orgs were going to stand with the American people and demonstrate that they are a contemporary force to be dealt with, it is now. Why? Because they take an oath 'to defend the country from all enemies, foreign and domestic'. They have failed miserably on the domestic end because they have not had the stomach to stand up to the politicians, usually due to the threat of having their current VA benefits legislation put in jeopardy if they don't stay in their assigned lane. Vets can be for their country, but only up to a point.
So all of you Vets in the New York Metropolitan area, you need to jump in here with your orgs. To sustain this protest, the key to winning, Vet groups will need to be 'rotated' where they can take turns. And the Vets don't have to buy onto all the demands of the current protestors, like free college for everyone and their other Santa Claus wish list. The Vets can put up their own demands. ...Jim W. Dean]
The news is welcome, particularly as people continue to learn more about Wall Street and New York City and the nature of the people in the upper echelons. Not only have Americans watched the players on Wall Street shove the nation’s future into their wallets, but there are more specific reasons that the police are behaving in a corrupt manner, they’re being paid off by groups like JP Morgan Chase, which recently donated:
“… an unprecedented $4.6 million to the New York City Police Foundation. The gift was the largest in the history of the foundation and will enable the New York City Police Department to strengthen security in the Big Apple.” -JPMorgan Chase
Strengthen security? This is a war against people who are utilizing their constitutional rights.
There are many sayings associated with the United States Marine Corps, and most have something to do with honor and decency and respect for the right things. Sure, many people disapprove of this band of warriors due to the nature of their business, but I personally see it differently, and it would be impossible to do otherwise, as I was once a member of this military group.
At any rate, I like the way Haynes looks at it:
“That’s the type of support that may make an NYPD cop think twice before he decides to go all Tiananmen Square on a group of teenage girls, armed with chalk and cardboard signs (maybe it’s because they are spelled properly?).
“The Occupy Wall Street movement may have thought it broke new ground when the NYC Transit Union joined their movement, but that ground just tipped the Richter Scale with news that United States Army and Marine troops are reportedly on their way to various protest locations to support the movement and to protect the protesters.”
Here’s the message Ward Reilly relayed from another Marine, on his facebook page:
“I’m heading up there tonight in my dress blues. So far, 15 of my fellow marine buddies are meeting me there, also in Uniform. I want to send the following message to Wall St and Congress:
I didn’t fight for Wall St. I fought for America. Now it’s Congress’ turn.
My true hope, though, is that we Veterans can act as first line of defense between the police and the protester. If they want to get to some protesters so they can mace them, they will have to get through the Fucking Marine Corps first. Let’s see a cop mace a bunch of decorated war vets. I apologize now for typos and errors.
Typing this on iPhone whilst heading to NYC. We can organize once we’re there. That’s what we do best.If you see someone in uniform, gather together.
A formation will be held tonight at 10PM.
We all took an oath to uphold, protect and defend the constitution of this country. That’s what we will be doing.
Hope to see you there!!”
Remember, the Occupy Wall Street protests in other cities are getting underway, Seattle is already active and the Portland, Oregon event starts later this week.

Perhaps Sgt. Thomas could lead a squad.
do the marines take an oath to defend the “country” or the “flag” or do they still swear to uphold the constitution. ? it makes a hugh difference. the Nazis swore to protect thier flag and the fatherland.
AS a non American citizen I can, unfortunately not join you overthere but I advice you to use your constitutional rights at the moment you vote your next president.
Check how YOUR bank is doing business..are they using there money to ‘just get more’ … are they having an agenda that supports human rights? The future of this planet?
From which company are you buying your food? Your clothes? To they care about their co-workers?
Every item you buy, every penny you spend……
You make the choices.
Don’t support the once you protest against at this very moment!
Good luck to you all and may God Bless you!

Author Christopher Ketcham speaks of the how the corporate elite have wrecked New York’s neighborhoods, driving out artists and intellectuals and stifling the creative culture that made the city so famous. This can be said of so many other places. It occurs to me that the most vibrantly creative communities are targeted for ‘soul’ elimination and fencing off, to be replaced by the untalented, the uninteresting, the idea-stealers, people who are not productive, the 1%. This excerpt explains how in the 1880′s the 99% defined themselves as the ‘Producing Classes’. Defining the 99% as the Productive Ones overides a lot of petty distinctions.
October 7, 2011
Christopher Ketcham’s essay “The Reign of the One Percenters,” :
“President Grover Cleveland, aghast at the scope of the division between the few very rich and the many poor, concluded that the “wealth and luxury of our cities,” primarily enjoyed by the industrial monopolists and the financier and Wall Street class, was “largely built upon undue exactions from the masses of our people.”
The exactions in New York, as with every city where unregulated industrial capital ran amok, were most felt in the profitable horrors of wage slavery: the fourteen-hour workdays, the miserable pay, the children forced into labor, the dangerous conditions on factory floors, the rents extracted by landlords for the opportunity to live in windowless, rat-infested, soul-destroying tenements.
In answer, across New York City throughout the 1880s there were strikes, marches, boycotts, gigantic torch-lit demonstrations. New York’s Central Labor Union (CLU), a branch of the Knights of Labor, whose national membership approached 700,000, welcomed all the “producing classes,” skilled and unskilled: the bricklayers, the jewelers, the printers, the industrialized brewers and machinists, the salesclerks, bakers, cloak makers, cigar makers, piano makers, musicians, tailors, waiters, Morse operators, Protestants, Catholics, Jews, whites and blacks, men and women. The only people they refused to welcome in their ranks, wrote historians Edwin G. Burrows and Mike Wallace, were “bankers, brokers, speculators, gamblers, and liquor dealers”–what the Knights and other radicals of the time called the “fleecing classes,” the “parasites,” the “leeches.”
The CLU and the Knights organized the first Labor Day parade in the United States, on September 5, 1882, marching twenty thousand strong from City Hall to Union Square, unfurling banners that said: LABOR BUILT THIS REPUBLIC AND LABOR SHALL RULE IT. And: NO MONEY MONOPOLY. And: PAY NO RENT. The seamstresses along the route waved handkerchiefs from windows and blew kisses at the marchers. When the ladies at their sills saw cops and thugs hired by the fleecing classes, they rained down rocks, eggs, rotten vegetables.”
“But here’s the most astonishing fact: the One Percenters consist of just 34,000 households, about 90,000 people. Relative to the great mass of New Yorkers–9 million of us–they’re nobody. We could snow them under in a New York minute.”
” A study from the New Economics Foundation in England found that for every pound made in financial services in the city of London, roughly seven pounds of social wealth is lost–meaning the wealth of those in society who do productive work.”
This is a pathetic liberal agenda driven call for more chaos. The mairnes should be smashing protester heads. People, are you so blind as to not be able to recognize these protests are being run by the very people who use them to increase wall street power. Lift the scales from your eyes. The rich never get hurt. Do you think Michael Moore will lose a penny. The rich liberals are the ones behind this. Do you desire martial law and a suspension of voting in2012? For all intensive purposes that is what you are asking for. This 20 year vet will never support that. Keep the marines out of new york
Gordon, where are you? An ill wind is blowing strange signes. The timing, like little robot responding to pre arranged plans. First Obama takes a turn back on Palestine, then like on clue Netanyahu and crowd start singing happy days are here again” Then Romney makes the darned speech, a clear page from the Project for the new American Century” ALEC words for words like a band picking up where it stopped. And he sure was not very good at it. Then that little … Cantor stand up on tune “I am the political leader here and will define the enemy,” a bit short of what they call the Palestinians , a vermin but Mob is not far behind it clearly separates us from those on the other side of the wall we may not enter. And that canard of class warfare start making sense. To have a war you need a dangerous enemy, and that is how he sounded the first alarm against this MOB. Well Gordon don’t want to upset any one but I am sure is worth watching, what is happening is no accidental response but planned provocation and response. first need to find out if Obama acted under duress on that speech, not his speech for sure. Hillary (Ross) took control for more belligerent action……where are they going Gordon????
Our police forces have been trained by foreign enemy agents operating inside our country.
“ADL Training US Police Departments across the country.. For What Purpose?
Are Abe Foxman and the Zionist ADL training US Police to be their private armies?
When your door gets kicked down at 3 am in the morning, you’d better have on your yarmulke, have a menorah visible and a Star of David Flag draped over one wall… or else!
Here’s a few samples on what the Zionists are teaching American cops to do:
ADL Participates in First Annual Urban Shield Training Exercise in California
Posted: November 14, 2007
An Anti-Defamation League expert participated in the first annual Urban Shield training exercise in Oakland, California.
Urban Shield is a large-scale training exercise and competition sponsored by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. It involves over 20 SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) teams from throughout the country, and is designed to test each team’s tactical ability to cope with a variety of real-life emergency scenarios.
The exercise took place continuously over a 24-hour period, beginning and ending at 5:00 am. It included different scenarios conducted at 22 training venues (or checkpoints) throughout Alameda County.
Two-Day Law Enforcement Training Held in Utah
Posted: January 14, 2008
Federal, state, and local law enforcement from across Utah gathered for a presentation from an Anti-Defamation League expert on right-wing extremism in West Valley City, Utah.
The training took place over two days and was held at the West Lake City Police Department Headquarters, just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Approximately 150 officers assembled for the ADL expert’s informative presentation on the ideologies, symbols, and criminal activities associated with right-wing extremists in the area. The expert also discussed the proliferation of white supremacists in the anti-immigration movement, emphasizing recent trends and tactics used by extremists to exploit anti-immigration sentiment in the region and across the United States.

An Anti-Defamation League expert conducted a law enforcement training at the Fort Leonard Wood United States Army Basic Combat Training Post in the Missouri Ozarks in December.
Nearly 70 attendees, representing several military units, participated including the Anti-Terrorism Branch, Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, Equal Employment Office, Military Police Investigation, Basic Military Police Training, 14th Military Police Brigade, Marine Detachment, and the 1st Engineering Brigade….” This list continues at http://wakeupfromyourslumber.com/node/6887
Best news in a long time. And it is time for Congress for faster action as well. From Wall Street we want our money back because Obama told us today what hey did was immoral but not illegal so cannot arrest them..
Not illegal because there are no rules against what they did and Republicans is fighting any rules. That brings the real issue home. We can sue them. But we need to confront Congress all those dual citizens special interest well paid to stop any rules. How interesting we have all kind of silly rules supposedly to protect us from oneself but no rules to protect us from the business crooks. Time to do what was done protesting the Health Plan, play visits to our representatives and remind them they are not oour LEADERS, they are there to represent our demands not what they think is our best interest. We can now communicate with each other and debate our interest among ourselves. In California we do so with Petitions if need be.
Thanks Marines, was a little nervous after Kent State, hard to forget that girl. And despite the infiltration of that movement, originally it was only to protect our troops we knew were sent to a war that had to rule of engagement. So thanks for that also, you acted as a loyal citizen serving your country, as I said then, the shame was not on you but on those who sent you there. The kind that told me “what are you worried about they are gettign paid for it” That also hard to forget. Those words should tell you where the seed of evil that brought us to this condition starts. The American People now do understand that something evil
infected this country.
Good to see people pissed and willing to do something about it for once. Sadly though they have been misled by people like Warren Buffet as to who the real enemy is. If these people had any clue, they’d go occupy the white house. I mean how much of our countries wealth has simply disappeared in the hands of our government? Redistribution of wealth is what our government has already done, to the sum of $14,710,150,906,109.92 equalling $47,235.78 for every us citizen. That’s $47,235.78 of your money magically gone! Study up people, they are creating a smoke screen to hide themselves. Blame the rich wall street guys, not us here in the white house!! Anyone really sick of all this, VOTE RON PAUL
Please do not be mistakenly sucked into this mess
Has anyone actually listened to most of the protestors?
Most are simply reenacting Woodstock for the drama of it
There is only a small percentage who are genuinely
protesting banking and wall street
Most are protesting everything about anything that makes them mad.
The gripes du jour are America sucks AGAIN (very tiresome), Sunday School teachers,
Big Macs, marijuana legalization, the lack of free needles and condoms for everyone
and the belief that working for money is grossly unfair and we would all be prosperous
if the rich guys would just give us all some of their money.
(
These were all actual complaints that I saw voiced by the different
factions of the crowd last week-there were of course some others that
I did not hear from)
The NY times is milking this, which would be fine except they are supposed
to be REAL journalists. reporting real news.
Mary
this is what brought down nixon and stopped the Vietnam war…
while my gang was sitting around grad school discussing hegel, they made history.

Isn’t life funny… we’ve heard from Duff a little over a month ago about an imminent false flag attack coming, reports from Ex-CIA Robert Baer that Israel was going to attack Iran this fall and scores of market crash bits (Gold going to $5000 oil at $200) news from Alex Jones pundits but doesn’t this whole wall street protest put things on hold for the 1% agenda? None of the above can likely take place now that the public is in their face about change!

Hi TJ Bronco :
Thank you for telling me why you think I have been “Had”. Also now you have assesssed through very little Intell on me, that I am under the corrupt establishments mind control. Under the mind control of the very people and organizations Occupy 2011 seeks to confront nationally and eventually bring down or certainly cut it down to size and power reach .
I understand from your plethora of comments why you are so cynical, tired and glad the 99% is now taking over and owning the problems and their solutions. It is clear you are very intelligent and not under “Mind Control”. Nor am I. Quite the opposite. My mind is very clear on what the hell is going on.
You are fighting back by responding to me, Old Marine and others. You are cynical-yes-still a hopeful idealist as well as cynical realist. A sensible and understandable position. So am I.
I am not under direct mind control of the elements that some in Occupy 2011 seek to bring into the light and rid it from our body politic. I support many elements and goals of OC 2011 embryonic devolopment.I want the people of America to rise up and put a stop to our current madness. Before we are fully driven into a world defined closely by, 1984, Farenheight 451,Brave New World and the great and prescient silent film Metropolis.
Our nation and most of the world is decending deeper than man has ever been into totalitarian control. A nihilistic world and personal existance is at hand if we do not act and succeed.
I hope you have returned on the sly as you stated you might to read this post to you.
I want to thank VT, Tim King,Occupy 2011 and many of those that posited their thoughts on these current events. Particularlly the soldiers that have and will show up to Occupy 2011.
Ther may not be that many but it only takes a few to change the response of police to marchers.More importantly it will be the Vets that speak out against the Banksters and corruption that is endemic in our body politic today. that will inspire so many people and even those that are in power and slaves to the monster. Those inside the monster can effect too change when enough citizens will no longer take the abuse. When we give those on the fence some wriggle room they will wriggle.
My generation stopped the Vietnam War, tossed president Nixon from office in deserved shame. It was incredible to control DC peacefully with a million people risen up against The Machine marching and changing the course of the nation, for the better, for a time. The Vietnam vets at the marches were incredible speakers against the war and Nixon. They also did indeed have a profound effect on how the police responded to marchers.Police behavior changed significantly once vets started showing up to the war protests in relitivily large numbers.
The police backed way down and softened their behavior towards protestors. No way the police and the Establishment were going to allow a face off of police and anti-war vets to show up in the news. Vets had an indellibe mark on helping bring the war to an end and Nixon down. They spoke with incedible clarity and force. Their words and images are still burned into my mind with amazing clarity nearly 40 years later.
Goodby TJ keep up your support and sharing your thoughts on todays critical matters affecting our nation. You do make a differance. Forty years ago we could have met in DC and that would have been very cool if it had happened.
PEACE AND ROCK ON OCCUPY 2011—COMMON SENSE
Peaceful demonstrations never solve anything. Violence does. These hippies need to storm the trading floor and start smashing shit.
IN ALL THIS DEBATE NOT ONCE HAS THEIR BEEN MENTION OF ALL THE BILLIONS AND BILLIONS WASTED ON US WARS AND STILL GOING SURE BANKERS SOLD SCHEMES TO PEOPLE SURE UNEDUCATED PEOPLE BOUGHT IT ALSO US NEEDS TO REGULATE BANKS MORE YOU EXCEPT LAWS TO PROTECT CITIZENS BUT NOT TO PROTECT YOUR ASSETS THESE MARINES WOULD DO WELL TO REMEMBER ALL LOST IN THESE LYING WARS IRAQ NO THREAT TO US IN AFGHANIST TALIBAN WERE NOT INVOLVED AS YOUR GOV HAS FINALLY ADMITTED NO PLANE HIT PENTAGON AND YET NOT ONE WORD OF REFLECTION NOT ONE WORD ABOUT TRILLIONS SPENT TRYING TO CONTROL THE WORLD USELESS US BASES EVERYWHERE ENCROACHING ON OTHER PEOIPLES LIVES AND SOVERIGNTY MILLIONS OF INNOCENT DEAD WOMEN CHILDREN ANFD STILL THE JINGORISTIC IM A MARINE I DID TWO TOURS AND NOW LIBYA HOW CAN YOU BE SO SURE AS TO IGNORE THIS WAR BUSH FOR RELIGIOUS REASONS DID NOT SUPPORT A PALESTINIAN STATE OBAMA FOR AN IMPEARLIST AGENDA DO NOT BLAME JEWS FOR ALL YOUR WOES THE US HAS GLADLY EMGAGED IN ME WARS WITH NO ARM TWISTING WHAT THE US NEEDS IS NOT A DAY OF PROTEST BUT A DAY OF SILENCE
Protecting free speech — my admiration for Marines just went up a few notches.
This is just beautiful news: Marines defending the peaceful protesters for a better world against the “Tony Beloneys”. I love you guys. Yes, sir!
I reiterate you’re a DUMB ASS commie douchebag. Go lick that idiot Obamas nutsack! (if you’re not already doing it….)
Well if this isn’t some one blowing smoke up peoples skirts then I am proud to know that the Corps and the Army will be there to protect citizens. From what I understand every civilized country has gone through a revolution once every hundred years or so. The US is about 200 years behind. I for one as a former Marine with multiple combat deployments would attend and stand watch over the protesters. Mace me, see what happens. Best of luck to all the protesters and the Military members standing watch over them. Hope to see this in the news.
TJ Bronco :
Kindly please elaborate on how I have been “Had”.
I respect much of what I have read on this and other Veteran sites. I have not stated my point of view on anything, other than the fact that some fine people are doing a fine thing.I know weird and bad things can happen from any actor. I feel better reading the main thrust of why some not all soldiers are going. From supporting free speech, helping prevent girls heads from getting busted in, supporting a free and open society and their sense to protect that.
I hope constructive and peaceful dialoge devolops.I recognize there is no guarentee of that when you have a large eclectic or homogenious group of people marching about on dfferent issues. In fact a constructive and peaceful dialoge will be hard to come by.
When I read this piece and some of the comments it made me feel there may still be hope for our nation and proud of the men and women of uniform. Who feel they have a just and needed role at these march sites.
Also I don’t want marchers to assume that because some soldiers show up. That means they automatically support their point of view. Not that I have an effect on anyone.
I like the idea, especially as a civilian, that soldies are taking the free speech and assembly part of upholding the Constitution seriously.
Warms the cockles of my heart. In todays bitter world I will take the moments my cockles are warm.
–Sorry
Hey John you requested me and asked me to reply. I will give you this reply. I will not come back to VT again, I have done my job(Maybe I will return surrepticiously) You ask me the question about how you have been ‘Had’…NO Soldiers are going to show up in some ‘Official View”-That is a fact!-Some soldiers of (My) like mind -May show up- yet they will be as beaten as the soldiers requesting their first World War Pensions… They were met with superior Governmental force. This Fight is from the 99% of Civilians that have been duped by the wealthy 1% elite!- I will Fight No More…You all. have taken on the Fight and ‘I will Fight No More!” This gives me great relief that you 99% of the people are now on your own…! Confuscious say ,”It is betta to be hated by you enemy, then hated by yo Friend…
Thank you Gordon Duff and Jimmie Dean…
Thanks for all your info…
Sincerely
TJ Bronco….
John Hefferman by the rolls of the Mind Control types, you are especially one of them… How do I know!? I read your psychological”Rational” assesment of those you admire, THAT HAVE NOT ARRIVED TO THIS DAY!!- AND WIIL NOT, UNLESS FOX NEWS GETS A WHIFOF THIS!-I tried tonight to give my Resignation to this post, Yet GOD apparently won’t let Me! God aside, Thank you to Gordon G, and Jimmie D…I want to resign sirs, the clientale is much TOO Stupid!!!
Ya really Woop Thank you.
It will get ugly when the Marines and Army bust their heads open. this should also apply to the 545 BOZO’S in Washington who are responsible for this MESS IN AMERICA. I say its time to clean house in america. this crap has been going on for over 65 years. WAY TO LONG. Americans suffer while Wall Street and the ELITE rip off Main Street.
Reading this made me prouder of the US Marine Corps. than I have ever been in my entire life. Not more than a month ago I was talking to my neighbor, 33 years old, two stints with the Marine Corps, and we talked about how bad thinga were and he said he thought there was a revolution coming. I asked him, “Will you be on the side of the authorities or the People?”
Without blimking or missing a beat he said “the People”.
GO MARINES!
I am a civilian. I am unbeilievably proud and feel incredidibly safer knowing that Marine and Army soldiers are gong to protect the constitutional right of the marchers to Free Assembly.
As has been pointed out. These Patriots and Guardians have willlingly sworn an oath to defend and protect America, Americans and Constitution from, “Enemies both foriegn and domestic”. They are coming to help to insure that the marchers God and Constitutionally given right to air grievences without having their heads bashed in. By unconstitutional actors and actions.
It is a high honor for me as civilian to know you are coming not to primarily pick a political point of view. But coming for a higher calling and duty. To protect citizen’s exercise of their constitutional rights in safety. Protected from “Enemies both foriegn and domestic”.
Marchers please note the difference. They are coming not to necessarilly promote a political point of view. They are coming to protect a higher calling. Constitutional rights, peacefully assemble and the right the express peacefully ones points of view in America.
Please note the difference between your goals and theirs. They are honoring you and something higher. Please honor them.
God bless America and God bless all of you.
John Heffernan, you have been ‘Had”
The TPears and other republicans should hear themselves; at once protecting the Constitution and then failing to allow others to act under it’s protection as in this case. Different when they were/are clogging the streets with their nonsense. Different set of rules for people with money, or those financed and protected by the same azules who have the money. The TPears know no bounds to hypocracy, it’s all about them. Anyone here remember Kent State? I do. It was a scary time and people were rebelling for the same reasons. YOU GO MARINES!!
Sandy-WHAT MARINES!!!
Well said, John. Marines are made up of the finest men on earth, and we should be proud of them.
veterens that know the system and what it does to the 99%. protecting against the law enforcement officers who are now being bought by the 1%, wtf!!! this could get ugly.
to do this in the name of the marine corps is bull sh*t! i was in the marine corps also and would never use the corps for my personal benefit or beliefs. so what everyone is saying is that it is alright for the protesters (who probably haven’t worked a real day in there life) have the right to protest and say whatever the hell they want but the police don’t have the right to demand an orderly protest? you all just piss me off. i too took an oath to uphold and defend the constitution of the united states, so if they want to protest fine, but disrupting traffice and the publics way of life is bull.
You’re just too old Marine… I can’t hold that against you, yet your mindset is within the Republican Old School, BS! It does not hold water in todays day and age!- So what you are experiencing, SIR< Is a Zio Schill, evoking HOPE that does not exist!-I again Chastise VT for allowing a ZIO SCHILL< Jewish man- not that their religion matters, only how do they manipulate the masses-US The U.S….That is the basis of this BS article…When I see Fox news tomorrow stating how the US Marines have come to New York City -Tomorrow…Then I will eat my words.
Old Marine:
I believe that you are missing the point of the marines going to the protest. They are not going to further the cause of the protesters, but to protect them from obvious civil rights violations. I am not saying I agree with theviewpoint of the protesters or not. I’m saying “hooray, the marines have come to PROTECT and serve!” Regardless of your political views, we are Americans and fight for our inalienable rights. The NYPD seems to have forgotten that. I pray our brave marines can peaceably remind them!
