Libya, Green Flags, and The Heart of Darkness
by Jim Fetzer (and Christof Lehmann)
One of the great virtues of Veterans Today appears to be that diverse opinions about the most important issues that confront us are welcomed with respect as long as they are well-reasoned and responsible. I have been dismayed by the support for NATO’s intervention in Libya from some of our most significant contributors, which has led me to conduct interviews and additional research about what is going on there. That the first act of this “rebel uprising” was to found a new central bank told me that something very strange was taking place. That NATO, which was founded as a collective defensive alliance to respond to an invasion of Europe by the USSR, has been involved in the bombing of civilians in a nation that has not attacked any other, has stunned me.
Ghadafi has brought Libya a national health care system, public education and funding for attending college, sharing oil revenues with the Libyan people and the highest standard of living in Africa. Every Libyan has an inalienable right to have a home. If appropriate training and eduction was not offered in Libya, stipends are granted for studying abroad. Every newly wedded couple receives up to $50,000US to start their own family. Ghadafi promised that his own parents would not have their own home until the rest of the people had theirs–and he kept that promise. The adult literacy rate in Libya was on the order of 89% in 2009, 94% for males and 83% for females. 99.9% of its youth are literate, according to the U.N. To the extent to which he qualifies as a “dictator”, he appears to be an unusually benevolent one.
But he has also abandoned the petro-dollar and plans to place Libyan currency on a new gold standard, which the world’s banking cartel has opposed, which appears to be the real reason NATO has been bombing his nation and massacring tens of thousands of its citizens. From interviews I have done with Ellen Brown and others, I am convinced that the attack on Libya has nothing to do with freedom and democracy and everything to do with the independence of Libya from the international banking system, which is capped by the Bank of International Settlements as “the top of the pyramid” of the New World Order. That is my take on this, where the parallels with Iraq are disturbing.
Like Ghadafi, Saddam Hussein was also demonized. Iraq was the most modern and sophisticated Arab state, with national health care and public education systems, a reliable infrastructure producing water and electricity, as well as antiquities and artifacts dating back thousands of years. But it was a political rival that offset the influence of Israel and had to be taken out. I am therefore featuring the latest study by Dr. Christof Lehmann, a practicing clinical psychologist, a life time peace activist, political advisor, and advisor in behavior, finance, economics, conflict resolution and peace building, which I have edited for publication here. He has been and is active as political advisor, in work on human rights, international relations and peace, Palestinian issues, and other activities. You can learn more about him and nsnbc in the closing note.
Libya, Green Flags, and The Heart of Darkness
Reflections by Dr. Christof Lehmann (with Jim Fetzer)
After Muammar Ghadafi recently encouraged the Libyan people to peacefully protest NATO aggression and occupation, there are demonstrations throughout Libya. Both Russia and China have voiced gravest concerns about NATO´s abuse of resolution 1973 on Libya and The African Union is following suit. Will any of the players that could be decisive put their money where their mouth is. The truth embargo of Western Media on Libya is slowly undermined by independent media, and the defeat of NATO and the TNC becomes increasingly difficult to mask. The result so far has been an humanitarian disaster and overt NATO aggression on an unprecedented scale.
Since Muammar Ghadafi addressed the Libyan Population and world political leaders on 6 October 2011, there are careful, but widespread demonstrations throughout Libya, calling for an immediate end of NATO´s bombing and ground campaign. With over 2,000 civilians killed in Sirte alone and one military defeat after the other, even Western Corporate media find it increasingly difficult to mask the bitter truth. All that NATO and its bitterly divided TNC proxy with their CIA imported “rebels” have achieved so far is the murder and massacre of tens of thousands of Libyans, an unprecedented ongoing humanitarian disaster and an unprecedented infamy in NATO´s aggression that is bound to have global consequences.
China and Russia’s recent veto on a U.N. Resolution on Syria was a long expected response to NATO’s aggression. Both China and Russia voiced that they would not allow any new U.N. Resolutions that could possibly be abused like NATO`s abuse of U.N.-Resolution 1973 on Libya. A nsnbc source in Moscow reported from a meeting at the Russian State Duma on Friday that all political parties of Russia agree that Russia should vote against a prolongation of a U.N.-Mandate in Afghanistan; further more Russia would “demand” a significant reduction of U.S. and NATO military presence in the former Soviet republics bordering Afghanistan, Pakistan and China. The question is, will this new found courage of the Russian Bear manifest in action that stops NATO’s aggression in Libya before further tens of thousands have lost their lives?
After Russia and China took a stronger position on NATO’s aggression in Libya, the African Union has followed suit, emphasizing that NATO had abused the African Union’s support of Resolution 1973. The “protection of civilian lives” by NATO is daily killing unarmed civilians. To answer the question of, Will the members of the African Union will put their money where their mouth is?, the answer is, “without Libya, many have no money, so they would be best served by backing their recent political grand standing before corporate media up with diplomatic as well as military action“.
According to a Libyan diplomat, Libya is one of five African Countries, besides Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria, and South Africa, who have together stood for 75% of the African Union’s budget. Mali, Congo, Liberia, Niger, Chad, the central African Republic, Mauritania, Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, and Gambia have all received substantial support that has secured these nations development and their political stability, security and peace. The best advise any independent political advisor could give those nations, and the African Union, therefore, is that great challenges require great leadership and courageous decisions. Anything less than unequivocal solidarity in demands for an immediate end to NATO’s aggression in Northern Africa and a shift in foreign policy towards China and Russia will inevitably project Africa into a second era of colonization. How would Joseph Conrad write about Africa today? where is the heart of Darkness today?
While Western Corporate Media, including Al Jazeera, have increasing difficulties in maintaining the positive narrative of “singing tomorrows” and “Arabian Spring Rebels” depicted as the worst case scenario of an Applied Orientalism that would be put to shame in an instant had the world not lost Edward Said, their narrative is increasingly rejected by even the most misinformed. As a life long journalist and Middle East Expert Einar Schlerth said in a correspondence with nsnbc this morning, “The Alternative Media are slowly sticking holes into Mainstream Medias Narratives“.
The TNC (“Trust No Colleague”) has today been plagued by one more shootout among its top level representatives. A planned meeting between representatives of the TNC and the Italian Oil Firm ENI at the Riksos Hotel in Tripoli ended in a shootout between the TNC representatives and their respective bodyguards, after the delegation from ENI failed to manifest. Only a few days ago the oil field installations at Babu Avel that produce oil for Italian ENI were destroyed by Libyan Forces. Yesterday the oil field should have come on line again, but installations were immediately destroyed by Libyan Forces. A nsnbc source close to the TNC could yesterday evening inform nsnbc that representatives of the TNC had been approached by “a US-Intelligence Service”, suggesting a division of Libya into a Northern and a Southern State.
The military situation for NATO and the TNC has not changed significantly. The majority of NATO and the TNC’s casualties are those unlucky enough to be in the way for indiscriminate artillery fire and precision bombing. But with today’s “smart bombs”, what excuse could there possibly be for yesterday’s bombing of the major hospital in Sirte? The Libyan Forces in Sirte are holding on. The fact that the city is still allowed to endure the thick of a full-scale modern colonial war by NATO; the fact that neither China nor Russia, nor the African Union, nor any of its member states have put their money where their mouth is with respect to the daily massacres and the rape of Libya; the fact that the U.N. is utterly discredited and impotent and nothing but the instrument designed to provide apparent legitimacy for the rape of sovereign nations; and the fact that leaders like Robert Mugabe are trembling from suppressed outrage when speaking “in the chambers of this most august organization” are all significant for one reason and one reason only.
Unless African Nations rapidly change their foreign and security alliances towards China and Russia and unless African Nations and other nations that are at the receiving end of “Humanitarianism a la the U.N.” will most urgently initiate diplomatic initiatives to build a true international community; and unless the African Leaders will show a long-awaited and long overdue display of personal and political integrity and courage in leadership and defiance against the continuous colonization of their continent, there will be many a Joseph Conrad needed to point out where the Heart of Darkness is today. Sunday in Libya.

At last, an article in VT exposing the reality of the NATO-NTC genocide in Libya especially of its black population. As a Brit, posters to the Libya atrocity at the’ Independent’ comment pages have been onto what has been happening from the get-go when reports emerged of African migrant workers being massacred by ‘rebels’ were reported in February. This was followed by the most gruesome lynching of blacks, recorded on Youtube. We subsequently discovered that Gadaffi’s proposed gold Dinar currency was a threat to the Rothschild banking cabal. All three leaders, Obama, Sarkozy and Cameron are all bankrolled by the cartel but Cameron and his Conservative party by the Rothschilds specifically. It was Cameron who really pushed for resolution 1973 and his assertion that it was to protect civilians must go down as one of the biggest lies in world history. I could go on and on. I just hope Amnesty or Human Rights Watch or best of all ‘Human Rights Investigations’ compile war crimes charges against NATO and these three monkeys of the banking cabal organ grinders, and present them to the ICC. Whether the ICC which appears to be a tool of NATO would do anything is, unfortunately, another matter .
You are making some excellent points, also about the United Nations and it´s Organs. I am sure you would be interested in reading the following article on the 66th Session of the U.N. General Assembley:

Libya was one of the few countries left without a Jesuit/Rothschild central bank. By creating government backed currency, the people of Libya were experiencing unparrelled economic growth. Abe Lincoln did the same thing.
All of the countries named in Bush’s “Axis of Evil” speech had one thing in common. They did not have a Rothshild/Bank of Rome branch central bank!
The Rothschilds are a Jewish “false flag” for the Jesuit/Vatican bank. The Bank of England was originally a branch of the Bank of Rome. (It still is, although present ownership is more obscure.)
I strongly agree about the virtue of Veterans Today, and when I discovered that jewel my first reaction was “There is still hope for The USA”
On the 22. of July the North Atlantic Terror Organisation, NATO, bombed the pipelines and the factory that made them and destroyed the water supply for millions in Libya. The Great Man Made river was a project that not only gave water to the people in Libya but also to their neighbours in addition to cultivate the desert. (This happened on the very same day when the slaughtering was carried out in the Capitol of Norway, Oslo, allegedly by a single lunatic)
I can add that I think Ghadafi also became a torn in the eye of the neocolonialists when he in conjunction with the African Union, which Ghadafi started, spoke with Hugo Chaves about the idea to set up a Trade Union between Latin America and Africa in order to seek fair trade in the global community.
The corporate media that is framed by the global elite speak about “democracy”.
Libya had their Jamahiriya system. The Jamahirya sector, comprised Basic People’s Congresses in each of the 1,500 urban wards, 32 Sha’biyat People’s Congresses for the regions, and the National General People’s Congress. These legislative bodies were represented by corresponding executive bodies. Ghadafi criticised the so called democracy because it make a wall between the people and the “elected”.
When the decision in Norway to participate in the bombing of innocent people in Libya was made Jonas Gahr Støre, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Defence, Grete Faremo took the decision on the Cellphone!!! How dare they to speak about democracy?!
more Zionist propaganda, with proof below, thanks for asking:
the African Union was how Gaddafi got together every thief in Africa and began burying them in Rothchild debt.
Let me know how Gaddafi’s 5 “African Union Banks” are doing.
it was all a scam
good to see our Israeli friends are reading.
When I put out a request for intel, who was paying the Canadian group to create this fairy stories, this is the answer:
Hi – Gaddafi’s main stooge in Lebanon is the Arab Islamic Council (AIC) led
by Shi’i cleric Muhammad Ali al-Husseini (http://www.arabicmajlis.org/).
This was set up with funding from Israel and Gaddafi’s son, Saif al-Islam,
to counter the influence of Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Regarding specific contacts, we’ve seen names (they don’t mean anything to
us and won’t mean anything to the average reader). We’ve also seen material
showing that the AIC was paid by the Gaddafi regime to arrange for Western
“bloggers” and “citizen journalists” to travel to Tripoli when it was under
Gaddafi’s control in order to generate sympathy for the Gaddafi family and
regime among Western publics. These individuals were paid handsomely for
their work. What we don’t know is whether they had been encouraged
privately by Gaddafi/AIC agents posing as friends or whether they were
aware they were being used by the AIC/Israel/Gaddafi. We also don’t know whether these people knew
that AIC was a front for Israel and the Gaddafi regime (and perhaps others
too).
We’re sorry we can’t divulge more details than this. The information was
obtained from sources known to xxxxxxxxxx from his time in Lebanon
Now I am seeing the same organization paying off our Canadian and American phony “anti-zionists” to counter Turkish influence in Libya. This isn’t “anti-war.com” or “globalresearach. Can”
We aren’t a pack of dumb shits.
Try elsewhere.
g
Gordon, I don’t know how sweeping you mean your characterizations to be, but I readily concede that you have far better intel/political connections than I do and that you may be right and I may be wrong. But I cannot base my beliefs on your opinions. I have to sort these things out for myself. In particular, since so much of the data suggests that Ghadafi has been of immense benefit to his people, tell me what I have wrong here. And is it false that a huge aquifer has been found there and that the first act of NATO was to destroy the pumping station that was bringing water to the surface?
Ghadafi was actively and in recent times, after the onset of the world wide economic crisis in 2007, lobbied at the A.U. to implement a new Pan-African currency backed by gold. The purpose of this currency was to (a) get a stable currency independent of US, China, and other currencies for the benefit of Africa, (b) stability and real value for the resources that are extracted from Africa and exported, (c) an African banking system that is independent of IMF, World Bank, USD, etc., based on Islamic principles. I am told that Ghadafi has been deeply inspired by Malaysian former P.M. Dr. Tun Mahatir Muhamad, who is actively lobbying among predominantly Islamic nations to adopt Islamic principles in banking.
PLUS (d) a gold backed Pan African currency, and trade of African goods and resources only in this currency, would have rendered many of the African nations that are currently deeply in debt to the IMF economically independent and autonomous within a decade or so. Here is some of what I take to be the case about Libya under Ghadafi:
* GDP per capita – $14,192
* Unemployment benefit – $730
* Each family member subsidized by the state gets annually $1,000
* Salary for nurses – $1,000
* For every newborn is paid $7,000
* A bride and groom receive a $64,000 to purchase flats
* Major taxes and levies prohibited
* To open a personal business, one-time financial assistance of $20,000
* Education and medicine free
* Education Internships abroad – at government expense
* Stores for large families with symbolic prices for basic foodstuffs
* Part of pharmacies – with free dispensing
* Loans for buying a car and an apartment – no interest
* Buying a car up to 50% paid by the State
* No Payment for electricity for the population
* Sales and use of alcohol is prohibited
* Petrol is cheaper than water. 1 liter of gasoline = $0.14
According to the World Bank, before the NATO bombing began, Libya was investing some $225 billion to improve its infrastructure, from oil field facilities to schools and hospitals. Currently about 32,000 housing units being built around the country. The government aim is to build around half a million units over the next five years, and make them available to Libyans at low cost and with long-term payment plans. In 10 years Libya would have been a serious competitor for European agricultural products, largely because of the Grat (man-made) River project. If you could confirm or deny what I am stating here, that would be a positive step in my gaining a greater degree of understanding.
Jim
Saw all this before, all put up on Israel run sites.
The pan african currency you are talking about was to be financed by the VERY small gold reserves of Libya and underwritten by Rothschild banks. I personally know several of the AU bank managers. I know all the players, have their mobile phones loaded in my voipstunt and have some of the docs in this computer. 3 UN special envoys were assigned to oversee this, one for West Africa, one for east and one for south.
I also have their appointment docs in this computer. Then we could talk about how money began to disappear, first from the AU bank, then from the Bank of Ghana, then from Stanbic Bank and then others. As I remember, the losses…16m, 40m, 11m and 27m initially. Then we got to Zimbabwe and it got worse.
Your information….I will tell you privately….better than to do this.
I was the fucking UN currency officer for Africa for 5 fucking years.
g
OK, Gordon. You saw this before “on Israel run sites”. But I am not an Israel run site nor is Christof Lehmann, who provided me with this information. Which of these claims is false? I am not asking about their source. I am asking about their truth.
And who authorized removing the crucial part of this column of mine? I posted it because it is important–and NOW I HAVE HAD TO REPOST IT BECAUSE SOMEONE AT VT REMOVED IT. What’s going on, Gordon? I did not expect this kind of abuse at VT.
The data on public health, literacy, GDP per capita, etc are data from the UN. Not Libyan. And Gordon Duff, if I understand correctly who you are, your information sounds very interesting. Why don´t you ask James Fetzer for my e-mail, he can give it to you, and then you send me all the data you have to back up what you are saying. I would whole heartedly appreciate it. But with f..ck..s and G.d damn it´s neither constructive dialog nor problem solving are possible.
One point Gordon – I thought you were commenting on my article, right ? Because regardless if you can or can not back up your arguments, which time will show, I can not belief that a man in your position would be supportive of using the military of the United Stetes in military aggressions that are the antithesis of the freedom, democracy, liberties, and humanitarianism the United States is claiming to represent, and military aggressions, which are the antithesis of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, to which the USA has been a founding member. While I appreciate you input, you have not at all responded to the questions that have been raised.
Warmest regards
Christof Lehmann
Chris
check my article today
as for fetzer, he can’t publsih material he hasn’t written on VT..
thus…that portion was removed
Christof,
The material you are using was originally produced by the Heritage foundation at the request of David Welch, paid for by money laundered through the Mossad’s organizations in Lebanon.
Gaddafi had a very real revolution, decent people died to get rid of him. Supporting him were the Zionists, the Rothschilds and American neocons and we have more than minor proof.
You have NO history on Gaddafi. Start with his friendship with Richard Helms and move forward.
I saw your same piece a dozen times, Lendman, Lamb, globalresearch did it for months, millions were spent to peddle the murderer gaddafi as a beloved dictator of 42 years.
it took 200 men to take Tripoli from him and his 50,000 loyal militia.
There is no more proof needed than this.
g
Gordon, special thanks for hearing my appeal regarding this column, where Christof and I worked together. I appreciate having it restored, because without the rest, it didn’t pack much of a punch.
Thank you for commenting. Yes I also strngly belief that Veterans Today is a forum where there is much needed dialog. I have been working with psychologically traumatized people for 29 years, many of them veterans. It is worth noticing in the military community, which I honestly respect, that you do not have a draft in the USA, that there is a strong social divide between the elite at University Institutes, the national Endowment for Democracy, leaders deep inside the Military Industrial Complex, Senate Lobbyists, and the decent, hard working US American citizen. many choose the military service as one of not too many options to survive and provide for their families. They, or You, who are risking your lives and limbs have deserved an honest political leadership that does not use you as canon fudder in colonial wars of aggression. You deserve better.
Warmest regards.
Christof Lehmann
I would like to point out that Ehud Barak identified Libya as a nation that supports terrorism, on the day of 9/11 (you can youtube it if you like). AIPAC has also called for sanctions and actions against Libya.
Currently Israel is negotiating with the chaotically split TNC to establish a base in Libya. You seem to be well informed, great.
Jim
Your central bank only exists between your own two ears. As much as you and I talk about such things, Gaddafi, a partner in the Carlysle Group with Bush, Carlucci, Baker, Major and gang tried pushing a Rothschild Bank onto africa through a phony currency scheme.
Were you to have worked directly with those involved with Gaddafi as I have, you would have known.
Instead, you depend on internet sources tied to the Mossad for information.
Poor scholarship.
When those espousing your beliefs were found to be coordinating themselves with Israeli groups in Lebanon working directly with David Welch of Bechtel Corp, the former Bush envoy to Libya who cut the original deal to allow Gaddafi to keep his WMD’s and still have US recognition, you remember, the meeting in Cairo at the 4 Seasons between Gaddafi reps, Welch and the Mossad.
This was documented quite thoroughly.
There has been no signficant NATO role in Libya. The Turks have taking over guidiance of the new government, securing it from what they believe would be Israeli influence orchestrated through Italy and France.
Those “tasked” with continuing the “NATO TAKEOVER” fraud are working for Tel Aviv, trying to spread old Al Qaeda rumors or, in this case, put pressure on the Turks over their flanking move against Israel over oil and gas reserves off Lebanon, Gaza and Cyrpus.
My last interview with Wanta, soon to be published, outlines how Reagan, in conjunction with Gaddafi, orchestrated the 86 bombing as cover for Gaddafi’s role in support of NATO. Navy SEALS were landed in Libya to secure Gaddafi’s family. His story about his dead daughter, long debunked, was worked out with the CIA to provide him cover.
Amateurs, nothing worse.
Did you miss this and simply decide to ignore reality or?
This is a tough game and incompetence is not a joke.
g
Gordon,
I take for granted that you respect my right to my opinion as much as I do yours. I have long since told you that I have found this whole Libyan attack by NATO bizarre beyond belief. If my opinion about the first act of the rebel group is mistaken, I am far from the only one who has drawn that inference or who holds that opinion. See, for example, http://www.corbettreport.com/canadas-foreign-minister-meets-with-libyan-rebels/ :
James Corbett
The Corbett Report
28 June, 2011
Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird met this week with the leadership of Libya’s National Transitional Council, the rebel organization based in Benghazi that is claiming to be the “sole representative of all Libya.”
Despite media-friendly rhetoric about bringing “unity” and “democracy” to the country, the Council represents less than half of Libya’s 141 tribes and conducts all of its meetings in secret without keeping minutes of the proceedings. Critics note that the group’s leadership consists almost entirely of elitist, Arab, pro-Western businessmen with American Ph.D.s. Some of the NTC’s first official actions were to form a central bank to act as monetary authority over a country they do not control and to establish a corporation to make contracts with foreign governments for oil in rebel-held territories.”
In an apparent attempt to give the insurgency more “legitimacy,” Baird declared the council Libya’s “best hope” for a democratic government, positing that “no government can be worse than the Gaddafi regime” before hastening to add that there will be challenges in the transition and that Libya is “not going to move from Gaddafi to Thomas Jefferson overnight.”

Now I cannot claim to possess your degree of expertise in these matters and therefore I may be wrong. But I would not be much of a scholar were I not to express my sincere beliefs based on my own research. I know you have published a great deal about this–and that you have sources that I do not. But what about my observations of Ghadafi’s benevolence to the people do I have wrong? And why should NATO be bombing Libya?
I understand your dislike of the man, and for all I know, he did all the bad things you’ve listed and more. But there are still a couple of things. One is that Libya made tremendous progress in all development indexes, and came from one of the poorest countries on Earth to being in the top third, and two, that NATO is a dangerous, aggressive entity that has no right to do anything other than be a defensive organization. So I can understand your rooting for the rebels, but the US and NATO are overextended and have no right to be there.
If China bombed the hell out of the US because of the Occupy Wall Street protests, would you find that OK? They have no right to bomb the hell out of the US, and we have no right to bomb a country that is not threatening us.
JIM, I´m happy that this one is for you – personally –
But as to the central bank “between your ears”, I thought it was the one that is currently under occupation by the American Public, no ?
RP 2012, Gordon has done a tremendous amount of good, in my estimation. I concede that he is far better connected with intel and politics than am I, but I cannot have a clear conscience and not speak out when, to the best of my knowledge, an atrocity of these dimensions is taking place in a sovereign nation–and a country that never attacked us. I would be grateful to know if Gordon can confirm the discovery of the enormous aquifer, which I suspect also lies behind NATO’s role here. Just as we are in Iraq (in part) for that nation’s oil and in Afghanistan (in part) to extract its lithium, I am convinced we are in Libya (in part) to control this vast new source of water–which has the ability to transform north Africa and beyond. The situation here is tragic on many levels.
What can I say? When you’re wrong, you’re wrong. In this case, Gordon appears to be mistaken.
Lee Wanta was there, find someone to trump him, higher rank, more credibility or in the room or……you have been backing a zionist agent and CIA asset by mistake.
You are perfectly free to side with Bechtel, the CIA, the Mossad and David Welch.
We have the proof, you are simply publishing Heritage Org spam they put out months ago.
I have seen and debunked this many times….
How did they get to you? You hadn’t been reading when we found that a certain well funded Canadian website of anti-zionists has been working for Israel all along? This is the same pack of assholes caught making up the Al Qaeda stories…also total crap. VT has staff on the ground in Libya.
Our guys took Gaddafi’s compound and are hunting him now. We aren’t a bit neutral, seldom do any of us have the opportunity to oppose an evil son of a bitch like this and go after him. I am only sorry I am not there myself to cut his nuts off.
Gaddafi is Bush’s boy, now he is yours? He is as close as we will ever get to getting Bush and the Rothschilds. At least we will be getting one of their underlings. Do consider the fact that you are now associating with more of the same. Prove it? We did, we tracked the payments, named the paymaster and if needed, we could always turn in the names of our friends, including the Canadians and others, to the ICC.
Damn it Jim, pay attention.
g
Well, if what you say is true about Bechtel, Mossad, et al., then all one can say is this is one of the very few cases where the citizens in a country were huge beneficiaries of their boy. Libya was the Switzerland of Africa any way you cut it, and the people had one of the best situations on Earth. So, if it’s so important to take out Khadaffi for some reason, then there may be a reason for an assassination, but not to turn this great example to the world into Somalia with a big Africom presence.
By the way, Khadaffi wasn’t that hard to find till recently. Why didn’t your guys go after him without destroying a country and moving Africa back into colonialism or slavery? Is it worth ruining millions of lives and seriously harming hundreds of millions over one man?
what do you mean: ‘go after him’? since when is it acceptable to form a lynch party and enter a sovereign state capture its leader? Theres too much of this sort of facsist thinking in westeners
Hello Jim.
What can I say, did Gordon Duff get my standing invitation to back up any of his claims with evidence? Or is he simply shooting off disinformation. In that case I belief there´s no constructive dialog anyways. It must be so annoying to be in a position where one needs to use name calling and the attempt to position a life long advocate for Palestine into the imaginary Mossad corner. I choose to neglect it with a smile and take it as a sign of having won the argument. Warm regards. Christof Lehmann
Woop,
When we get Gaddafi, the Rothschild shill, do you want us to save any part of him for you?
There are a few of you Fox News types who could bid on his anus.
Perhaps Jim and I will put it on Ebay for you.
check out your paypal account.
g
G,
You’re right, it is a tough game. The stuff about Gaddafi supporting NATO, and the fake 1986 attack on Libya, are OLD news. Gaddafi, just like Saddam Hussein, “may have been a SOB, but he was ours” was the refrain. So the question that is left to answer is, “Is what is happening now, just a falling out among thieves? Or is it a true awakening?” We shall see.
Yup, it is a tough game. And you will make it tougher for yourself, if you get too enamored with Wanta. His agenda is diametrically opposed to yours and VTs.
Hello jj.
Indirectly and implicitly, your comment elicits one of the very problems with the perception of the average US Citizen of the USA. Can you imagine how condescending and criminal it sounds for people who are living in former colonies, or even autonomously thinking people in Europe, when you hear again and again: ” yes, maybe he was a SOB but at least he was ours”. The problem is, that you are a great people, and I have great friends in the USA, but with respect to foreign policy issues, the average US American is just about as ethnocentric thinking, and as condescending as the average German during the 3rd Reich. I truly hope that the much needed change in self perception and the recognition of the criminality of US Politics is coming from within the USA, sparing you for the changes in indoctrination we went through in Germany after it collapsed due to Empire Overreach. As to Gordon Duff, I am happy you see where he seems to be coming from. He has a standing invitation to back up his claims, and it´s not worth replying to disinformation. Thanks, Christof
Saving Civilians with Bombs for over 7 months
destroying infrastructure homes schools hospitals roads cars water systems food agriculture animals
killing maiming and torturing men women and children of a sovereign nation…
is insane and a crime against humanity
There is no honor in these actions, the horror of it all…
i doubt that anyone in their right mind would want any new government that thought the country should be destroyed by bombing it to smitherinz
CRAZY WORLD !

Sadly there is system behind the madness. I can warmly recommend my article about the National Counsel of Syria and US Unconventional Warfare. You will identify precisely how that system works.

Thanks for the link. The modus operandi used in Libya seems to be repeating itself in Syria. Get “Shalabies” living in the States to stand up front and demand a regime change…
If we are supposed to be so stupid as to believe the noble principles that motivate wars against sovereign Nations that never have attacked the USA, why not use Abe Foxman then or Goldberg to front for a regime change in Tel Aviv? The reason to do so are many: From the Lavon Affair to the USS LIBERTY massacre, to the Pollard spying case and 9/11, just to mention a few major felonies of the Rogue State of Israel…
re: “There has been no significant NATO role in Libya.”
This is very hard to believe. NATO and the mighty Wurlitzer, such as the BBC, regularly claim well over 20,000 sorties, with some going as high as 50,000. One can argue that the rebels are better for NATO’s interests or even the world in general, but it’s a real stretch to say that this hasn’t been NATO’s war.
It’s also undoubtedly true that Khadaffi had made many questionable deals with questionable groups in the West, but do you really think a country that nationalizes its oil and kicks out the US from its biggest foreign base can survive without lots of maneuvering? In other words, it is not proof that Libya was some kind of friend of the West or Israel. In fact, the French-Israeli philosopher-intellectual-friend of Sarkozy Levy calls himself the father of this revolution. One can judge a man by his enemies, they say, and Levy is one of the worst creeps in Europe.
There is in deed heavily under reported NATO activity in Libya. If you follow the daily articles on http://www.nsnbc.wordpress.com you will have no doubt about them, and neither about the humanitarian disaster tit causes. What is significant is, that in spite of the relentless bombing, the relentless attacks by fighters imported from Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia etc, and special forces from several NATO member states and Qatar on the ground, 90 % of Libya are still under the control of Libyan and Allied Forces. The conflict is bound to last for months, even years, and that may in deed be very much to the satisfaction of NATO, who needs a pretext for a long term presence in Northern Africa.
Warmest regards and thank you for your great comment.

Dear Folks, RP 2012 has been removed from VT, all past posted deleted, and his ISP blocked for spamming the comment boards.
We will continue to do this when necessary when some folks think our eyeballs and time can be taken hostage by them for their amusement. Jim W. Dean
Sorry to butt in but I don’t get this statement – “There has been no significant NATO role in Libya”. Perhaps you mean political, but 9300 odd strike sorties and the rest is a major role, plus the French Brits and US have been significant players diplomatically and financially also. Plus even Turkey is in NATO, if not central. As for Gaddafi, he is a strange fish alright. He did seem to have some positive social aspects to the show he was running, at least by African standards, but not enough to hold it together it seems, without resort to force, although without the intervention he clearly would have won in fairly short order, but with a fair pile of bodies to show for it. But he couldn’t even keep his big mouth shut long enough to pull it off!
Hello Steve – I didn´t get that either – You are absolutely right about both the heavy political and military involvement NATO, Turkey, Israel, and other players – including Iran. Human language some times invites mis understandings, I belief both you, Jim, and I are on the same page about this.
Warm regards.

Gordon, a few days back I read NATO (U.S. “troops” in your opinion) had carried out 48,000 strikes on Libya’s cities. For all your expressed “love” for Libya’s people, your unconcern of NATO’s continuing slaughter, appears callous. Scott Ritter had love for the Iraqi people. No friend of Saddam, Ritter opposed U.S./NATO bombing of Iraq that he KNEW it would slaughter MANY innocents. Ritter was correct. Yet, from Duff, not one word AGAINST the massive U.S./NATO bombing of Libya. Why not? UN sanctions were too slow for the “change” you (in your superior Wisdom) had DECIDED upon?
Following that kind of “wisdom,” rather that peaceful protesting, the Occupy Wall Street people should be BOMBING the Stock Exchange to get rid of the greedy Banksters by swifty killing them!
Also, WHAT “Israeli run sites” do you keep referring to? Global Research, WhatReallyHappened, Rense, InformationClearingHouse, Madsen? “Israeli Run Sites?” BUNK! Each has presented SIMILAR, even the SAME views as you on VT on just about about EVERY other subject – EXCEPT Libya!
In a past comment you said you had personally worked for Gaddafi, knew his family. Now you also advise us: “I was the fucking UN currency officer for Africa for 5 fucking years.” Remarkable! Please give us more precise details about your “INTIMATE” prior roles in Libya. If you do, maybe some of us MAY believe (some) of your statements about Libya – and believe your claim that Israel is against NATO’s attack. Please convince us WITH EVIDENCE to support your Libya views. Thanks.
Dick, Your post confirms my impression that the role of NATO in all of this has been widely reported. An update has now appeared http://nsnbc.wordpress.com/2011/10/10/sirte-200-dead-for-1-minute-tv-victory-jibril-withdraws-tnc-fighters-from-sirte/ which you and others concerned about this question can read at Christof Lehmann’s site.
RP 2012, if I had to guess, I would infer that you have been unhappy with Gordon for some time and over many different issues. I don’t know the background to all of this, but you appear to have a strong bias. I think that most of us here would find it rather difficult to take your extreme opinions about him at face value, all things considered.
Gordon, Have you noticed no person in the comments supports your stand on Libya. Your presumption that Gaddafi was and still is a close friend of Israel means nothing to the “war by deception” country. So what? Western leaders had their friendship with Gaddafi too when the time was right. Now the time is right to further the PNAC agenda for a greater Israel. Do you really believe that the US/Nato would lift a finger that wasn’t in the interests of Israel? They control America!! If so then you are mentally challenged or like Julian Assange a false flag reporter. So sad, you have destroyed every ounce of credibility you built up on VT.
dick
You mean that no wingnuts/neocon phonies that are bored of fox news like the truth?
tough shit.
g
dick
your neocon/zionist crap isn’t working….but keep trying.
So if you will Gordon, what is the purpose behind the attack on Libya?
Although I have only been a regular reader of VT for about 4 months I find it essential reading and I have great respect for Gordon Duff but I think he has a bee in his bonnet concerning Colonel Gaddafi the way Robert Fisk does over Hezbollah and Iran.
The point about the Libyan conflict is that the Gaddafi government had the support of most Libyans, and before NATO intervention it was reported that about 1,000 people had died. Now that number must be in the tens of thousands and we simply do not know what has happened to over a million black Libyans and African migrant workers. I firmly believe that the intervention was ordered by the Rothschild banking cabal because of the proposed gold dinar which was a threat to their insatiable financial greed.
Gordon is correct about the fall of Tripoli even if his numbers were a bit exaggerated for effect. It was ridiculous for a couple of thousand irregulars to be able to storm in and secure it in a few days, even with air support, given that Gaddafi had his elite formations and supposedly massive popular support and militias to back him, and years to prepare the place for any such event. Whilst some put up a bit of a fight, a lot of the trained formations seemed to just melt away, which even Debka had to admit was bizarre. The invaders (or liberators take your pick) should have been chewn up and spat out in short order if Gaddafi had a really strong position there. On the other hand in Sirte and Bani Walid at least they have put up a more credible fight, so it would seem he had some strong support at least there, along with a bit in Tripoli (or parts of it) but not enough to amount to much when the crunch came. At least once NATO made clear he waas not going to win it’s fair to point out.
from Thierry Meyssan and the sacking of tripoli:
The fighting raged again on Sunday night, reaching a rare degree of violence. NATO drones and planes have been bombarding in every direction. Helicopters are strafing people in the streets to clear the way for the jihadists.
In the evening, a convoy of official cars carrying prominent figures was attacked. It took refuge in the Rixos Hotel where the foreign press is staying. NATO would not dare bomb it in order to spare its own journalists. The hotel where I lodge has been under heavy fire.
At 11:30 PM, there was nothing the Ministry of Health could do but to take note that the hospitals are saturated. By early evening there were 1300 additional casualties and 5000 injured.
NATO was entrusted by the Security Council to protect civilians. In fact, France and the UK are now back to resume their colonial massacres.
Monday, 1:00 AM: Khamis Gaddafi personally went to deliver arms to the hotel and left. There is heavy fighting all around.
Thierry Meyssan

====================
as you can see NATO is reported doing what RES1973 was established(falsely) to prevent: civilians being masacred by an airforce.
I’ve seen the Thierry Meyssan video….nearly laughed myself to death. Cheney is more credible.
g
Libya was a peaceful and prosperous nation, until the PNAC triggered AGENDA, which continue to unfold under Obama, reached the stage of REGIME CHANGE in North Africa-Middle East, through DECEPTION and NATO BOMBS.
1) If the tale is about respect or disrespect of Human Rights, well the leadership to be ousted and brought to the ICC is the psycho one that heads the Rogue State of Israel, and NATO should have bombed Tel Aviv and Dimona, not Tripoli, Bani Walid or Sirthe, not Gaddafi and not LIBYA,
2) What have been achieved until now, by the murderous NATO bloodshed and support for a puppet CNT in Libya, is GENERAL DESTRUCTION of the country’s once pristine infrastructure, the collapse of its Institutions and, the CRIMINAL PERVERSION of Libya’s SOCIAL FABRIC. Now, you have Libyans hating Libyans, holding grudges one tribe against each other for generations to come,
3) Next will be social unrest and turmoil, false flag ops, to justify ruining a country the same way as it has been done in Iraq and, continuing the phony war INNOCENT people and sovereign Nations… for Uhhh… “National Security Purposes”… or humanitarian reasons. The lie is so huge, it can’t stand the slightest scratch… Cui Bono?
4) Definitely not the USA or any Promotion-Defense of “Human Rights”, but Greater IsraHell.
5) Want to defend Human Right and JUSTICE, start in the USA.
What happened and is happening in Libya is a CRIME of LÈSE HUMANITY a blatant crime against REASON and MANKIND. Any justification for the slaughter in Libya won’t fly, won’t even take off the ground for any human endowed with average intelligence.
Who knows where the truth lies? Somewhere in between these two mutually impossible rocks and hard spots?
Debbie, might be. The grand majority 98% of us common people, who participate in the debate in VT, do not have access to intel-privileged info. We all know too that Intel info is ALWAYS manipulated to suit the stated goals and wishes of those who produce it. Remember the Intel that led to the DESTRUCTION of Iraq…
We common people do analyze-check facts too and draw conclusions, based on common sense, logic and what we know about the history of Libya-the Libyan people and, the trends-modus operandi of what is happening in the Middle East-North Africa, WHY-WHO is behind it-which countries participate and support the SLAUGHTER under the guise of “Humanitarian Intervention”.
The destruction just does not make sense. From the beginning, the demand from Obama, from Sarkozy, from Cameron has been: “Gaddafi has to go”. Gaddafi said: “Ok, let us hold elections and let the people decide”. The response was more bombs…
We are talking about the very same people who were “Bise-Bise” with him, with Ben Ali, with Mubarak, the same people, who gave 29 standing ovation to Nethanyahu, one of the biggest psycho criminals of all times, the same people, who scream “antisemitism, terrorism-We stand by Israel’s side ‘in thick and thin’. Israel’s welfare goes forward the needs of American People”, each time Palestinian women-children are terrorized-starved-murdered by the scores… the same people, who say NO to a Palestinian State, the same people, who prevent the Palestinian from joining the UNESCO…
As long as above crimes are tolerated and their perpetrators left alone that the red carpet is pompously and lavishly deployed, as soon as they touch US-EU ground, the USA-NATO-France should leave other countries alone and mind its own problems.
The principle of “Two weights and two measures” is a wrong one, from any point of vew. In South America they say: “La salsa que es buena para el pavo, es también buena para la pava” (The sauce which is good for the male turkey, is equally as good for the female one”. Then why Nethanyahu is GOOD and Gaddafi is BAD?
We have to stop the madness of WAR. If we are going to talk about law and the respect for it: Libya is a sovereign nation (was until it was bombed by NATO) and who the hell elected the CNT members or the “NEW” puppet Libyan Govt. Definitely not the Libyan people…
the truth lies with thos telling the truth…thats Gadafi and the Libyans…the lies are being told by NATO, EU US etc insurgents, who bomb the remainging free media and have tried to jam such as ARRAI TV to ensure their story is the only one.

Reflections on Libya–Part I
Who controls NATO? On the surface, that would be Obama, Sarkozy, and Cameron. Who controls Obama, Sarkozy, and Cameron? The international bankers. Who controls the international bankers? Ultimately, the Rothschilds.
Looking at Chris Bollyn’s article on Gaddafi (http://www.veteranstoday.com/2011/07/24/is-gaddafi-a-rothschild/), we are lead to believe that Libya under Gaddafi was a Rothschild-controlled police state. This is picked up by others as justification for waging war and destruction on Libya. What these interventionists need to tell us is why Rothschild-controlled NATO is destroying Libya in order to get its valuable resources.
This places some in a bind. All kinds of arguments are thrown up.
The fact that Gaddafi funded some bloggers is offered as justification. Some information apparently says that bloggers who got a pro-Gaddafi article in a mainstream media outlet (which wasn’t likely to happen unless RT [Russia Today] counted) would get $2000 from Gaddafi and would get $500 for blogposts of more than 700 words. (http://www.veteranstoday.com/2011/08/20/breaking-story-libya-intelligence-officer-defects-records-of-payments-to-journalistsactivists-by-gaddafi/)
The question is what were the CNN’s and Al-Jazeera’s one-sided “journalists” paid? This report (http://www.ehow.com/info_10047113_annual-salary-chief-foreign-correspondent.html) from 2010 based on this Dept. of Labor report (http://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes273022.htm) says that foreign correspondents make $75,000 a year. This would be for correspondents in London, Tokyo, or Paris. Easily that amount is doubled or tripled in a war zone.
Chris Bollyn wrote that apparently Saif al-Islam, Gaddafi’s son, was friends with Nathan Rothschild. NATO would not wage war against the Rothschild family’s wishes so obviously, a supposed friendship between two 30-year olds really does not matter. The fact is the Rothschilds ultimately control NATO, and NATO is raping and destroying a country to gain its valuable resources.
Some have written that Gaddafi served Israel. The fact is on March 1st, Netanyahu demanded strong international action against Libya (Haaretz: http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/netanyahu-world-pressure-on-libya-must-also-be-directed-at-iran-1.346514) and on June 3rd, Netanyahu thanked France for its actions against Gaddafi in Libya.
Meeting visiting French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe, Netanyahu noted that Gaddafi “was never a friend of Israel or the Jewish people and Israel will not be sorry to see him disappear from the map.” http://www.ejpress.org/article/51313
While running Libya, Gaddafi assailed the Sudairi and the rest of the Saudis for being so weak before Israel and the West. If Gaddafi also bowed down to Israel, perhaps he knew that the Mossad could get him at any moment if they wanted to. Whatever bowing Gaddafi did in secret, the public record says what Israel really thought of him.
Meanwhile, on June 2, it was reported that Libya’s rebel National Transitional Council (NTC) was ready to recognize Israel, and “will maintain normal relations with Israel.” http://www.english.rfi.fr/africa/20110602-libyan-rebels-will-recognise-israel-bernard-henri-levy-tells-netanyahu
The Israelis want Libya balkanized. They want to eliminate the possibility of Algeria, Libya, and Egypt coming together to challenge them. They certainly don’t want this new rebel government, even if supported by the Qataris and the Sudairi at the moment, to have much power, to take over the whole country. http://cosmos.ucc.ie/cs1064/jabowen/IPSC/articles/article0005345.html
Another argument thrown in is that Gaddafi got $35 million in bailout money from the U.S. A link to a video is given. It is best to listen to the whole clip and then do some research on it. Here are the facts: Arab Banking Corp. which is based in Bahrain was 29% owned by the Bank of Libya at the time of the $35 billion loan from the Federal Reserve Bank. Arab Banking Corp. said that it had paid the loan back (at the very end of the clip): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll6M5OnooVc&feature=player_embedded
On January 25th, 2010, Saif al-Islam al-Gaddafi, Gaddafi’s son, wrote to German Chancellor Angela Merkel about the German Government’s decision to give Israel a sophisticated submarine and two missile boats to be added to the five submarines already given to Israel by Germany. He wrote: “I do not think that the German tax-payers seek the enhancement of the offensive capacity of the world’s greatest human rights violating State in the world.”
Her Excellency Dr. Angela Merkel
The Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany
Excellency,
We have read with great surprise news reports indicating that the German Government will support the State of Israel by offering gifts in the form of a sophisticated submarine and two Missile boats to be added to the five submarines which have already been provided to Israel, the price of which was paid by the German tax-payers.
Since I am not objecting or protesting against the German government decision for as it is an internal affair, but what I would like to underscore is that there are certain points and remarks to be clarified to the German government and people as well as the international public opinion.
I do not think that the German people who have suffered from dictatorship, suppression and terrorism either during the Nazis era or the communist reign, which are well known to Her Excellency Dr. Angela Merkel agree to the money of tax-payers being spent to purchase offensive non-defensive weapons and submarines on which long-range ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear war heads will be mounted as per reports.
I do not think that the German tax-payers seek the enhancement of the offensive capacity of the world’s greatest human rights violating State in the world. http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=257305
As everyone knows, NATO’s role was and remains decisive in Libya. From March 23rd to August 20th, NATO flew 7,459 strike missions, or sorties in Libya. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/22/world/africa/22nato.html By its count from March 23rd to August 22nd, NATO destroyed 1,130 military facilities, 555 tanks and armored vehicles, 1.115 ammunition facilities, and 275 command centers. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424053111904279004576524670451322538.html?mod=googlenews_wsj
An Africa Command (AFRICOM) spokeswoman confirmed on June 29th that since NATO’s Operation Unified Protector (OUP) took over from the American-led Operation Odyssey Dawn on March 31, the U.S. military had flown hundreds of strike sorties. Previously, Washington had claimed that it was mostly providing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and tanker support to NATO forces operating over Libya.
AFRICOM, 6/29/11: “U.S. aircraft continue to fly support [ISR and refueling] missions, as well as strike sorties under NATO tasking,” AFRICOM spokeswoman Nicole Dalrymple said in an emailed statement. “As of today, and since 31 March, the U.S. has flown a total of 3,475 sorties in support of OUP. Of those, 801 were strike sorties, 132 of which actually dropped ordnance.” http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2011/06/defense-africom-air-force-navy-flying-libya-missions-063011/
And NATO says it is not stopping its bombing yet. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/07/world/africa/nato-not-yet-willing-to-declare-end-to-libya-operations.html
There have been steady news articles about British, Qatari, French, and Jordanian special forces on the ground in Libya.
On August 28th, The Telegraph reported that British special forces brought Tripoli to its knees by calling in coordinates for bombing and training soldiers starting 3 months earlier. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8727076/How-the-special-forces-helped-bring-Gaddafi-to-his-knees.html
The UK’s Daily Mail reported on March 25th, “that hundreds of British special forces troops have been deployed deep inside Libya targeting Colonel Gaddafi’s forces. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1369763/Libya-Proof-winning-MoD-footage-airstrikes-Gaddafi-tanks.html
August 23rd, The Guardian reported:
“The Guardian has previously reported the presence of former British special forces troops, now employed by private security companies and funded by a number of sources, including Qatar. They have been joined by a number of serving SAS soldiers.
They have been acting as forward air controllers – directing pilots to targets – and communicating with Nato operational commanders. They have also been advising rebels on tactics, a task they have not found easy.
For the SAS it is a return to old stamping grounds. In one of their first successful missions in the Second World War, they attacked airfields in Libya, destroying 60 aircraft. SAS battle honors include Tobruk in 1941 and a raid on Benghazi in 1942. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/aug/23/sas-troopers-help-coordinate-rebels
On August 25th, The Guardian reported:
“British and French special forces are on the ground in eastern Libya, calling in air strikes and helping rebel units as they prepare to assault Sirte, the last coastal town still in the hands of pro-Gaddafi forces, a rebel officer has told the Guardian.
“The soldiers have taken a leading role not only in guiding bombers to blast a path for opposition fighters but also in planning the offensive that finally broke the six-month siege of Misrata.” http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/aug/25/libya-conflict-british-french-soldiers-rebels-sirte
See Part II that follows.
Part II was being rejected as “You’ve already said that!”, which was wrong, so here is Samuel Dowell’s Part II:
Reflections on Libya—Part II
Some say that Turkey is running things in Libya now.
But on September 9th, Debka.com, the Jerusalem-based website tied to the Israeli intelligence community wrote:
“Erdogan is driven to assert Turkey’s importance [in the Middle East] by the way he was shouldered aside in Libya. Ankara invested heavily in its support for the Libyan rebels. But when British, French, Jordanian and Qatari special forces stormed Tripoli on Aug. 21 and overthrew the Qaddafi regime, Turkey was left behind and forgotten in the heat of the action.
“From Ankara, the Turkish leader watches the sharing out of Libyan oil as the spoils of war among the Western powers and Qatar as an outsider.” (http://rarereaders.seablogger.com/2011/09/erdogan-drives-toward-armed-clash-with-israel-oil-and-gas-at-stake/)
Dr. Veysel AYHAN, ORSAM Middle East Advisor, Department of International Relations, Abant Izzet Baysal University in Bolu, Turkey wrote on September 20th that Turkey has been largely cut out of the process in Libya.
After Sarkozy’s and Cameron’s visit to Libya,
“…the United Nations General Assembly recognized the National Transitional Council of Libya as the legitimate representative of Libya and the UN Security Council produced the 2009-numbered resolution in which the members agreed on the establishment of a temporary mandate government in Libya under the United Nations Support Mission in Libya –UNSMIL-. This way, it became evident that at least one of the countries supporting the NATO’s military intervention in Libya will be directly coordinating the new restructuring period in Libya for additional three months.
“During the Libya Conference arranged and hosted by Sarkozy and Cameron in Paris on September 1, the subject of discussion was the establishment of a mission in Libya by the United Nations in order to bring stability to Libya and the removal of the sanction decisions. [1] During the visit of the two leaders to Libya, in a draft resolution presented to the Council to be added on the agenda, there was the demand of the establishment of a mandate government of the UN in Libya. On September 16, the members of the Council agreed with a consensus to establish a new authority in order to help the National Transitional Council in Libya with the 2009-numbered resolution. Within the resolution, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya was planned to help the National Transitional Council in preparing a new constitution, providing the rule of law, supporting the public security, contributing to the consensus efforts with the inclusion of large numbers, writing the new law of elections and realizing the elections. In the decision, letting the Libyan accounts that were held frozen free, lifting the arm embargo partially and removing the sanctions applied on the oil companies were also agreed on. The activities of the UN are indicated to contribute to the embrace of a democratic, independent and united Libya with the consideration of the Libyan sovereignty. [2] UN Support Mission in Libya will also help the National Transitional Council of Libya in improving economy, and managing the economic sources and funds. [3] At this point, there will be a huge discussion topic about how billions of dollars will be used in restructuring of Libya and what kind of a role the UN Support Mission in Libya will be having on this matter. It is not clear whether the National Transitional Council will be making a decision while new agreements to be made on the construction and oil sectors will appear on the agenda. It is essential to underscore the role of the UN Support Mission in Libya in re-constructing hundreds of thousands of collapsed buildings, establishing oil pipelines and discovering new oil reserves and their marketing. Moreover, the management of about $170 billion money assets of Libya that were frozen externally after its being freed is raising many questions in one’s mind.
“The main argument made by Sarkozy and David Cameron during their visits to Libya was that they have been supporting the opponents since the very beginning of the insurgencies. Furthermore, they declared that their support to the National Transitional Council would go on until the pro-Gaddafi forces surrendered. While Sarkozy indicated that the Libyan public was under threat and the NATO attacks would continue, Cameron posited that the mission was not completed and the UK would maintain the fighting until Gaddafi would be brought before justice. [4] On the other hand, it is noteworthy of underscoring that President of the National Transitional Council Mustafa Abdul Jalil stated during the joint press meeting in Tripoli once again that the countries contributing to the restructuring of Libya would be prioritized. Even though both leaders did not discuss about the economic issues before the public, President of the National Transitional Council Jalil indicated that the countries supporting the opponents will be prioritized and some of the agreements signed during Gaddafi reign would be put under investigation. [5] As a matter of fact, the French Liberation Newspaper argued that in return of the full support of France, the opponent leaders gave 35% right of management of the oil production in Libya. While Minister of Foreign Affairs Allain Juppé stated that he was not aware of such a letter, he said the following: “However, as far as I know the opponents declared that they would prioritize the countries supporting the re-construction in Libya the most. I found it quite logical and fair. Besides, we are not alone; there also the Americans and Italians. All said that ‘Intervention in Libya is expensive, yet it is an investment on the future.’” [6]
“At this point, France and the UK gave two messages in Libya. First of the them is the military, political and diplomatic support given to the opponents since the inception and the second one is that they will not let any group in Libya, apart from the National Transitional Council, to take part in the re-construction period in Libya.”

The question is are some right to back Rothschilds’ NATO when they decide to take down governments that are just a little left on the political spectrum? It is one thing to be only for America believing that we have a supreme constitution. It is another thing to attack other countries because they do not have the same type of government. The liberal interventionists’ “ethical” war is not and never will be the answer.
Rothschilds’ NATO is attacking a supposed Rothschild crony. Did Nathan Rothschild and Saif al-Islam have an argument? Or did the Rothschilds decide they could make more money and actually control Libya’s resources if they removed Saif al-Islam’s unpredictable father.
Thank you for the many comments. I find it absolutely essential that there is dialog about Libya on VT, and the many comments are overwhelming. I am sad that I don´t have the time to answer all as much as I´d like to, so please accept this as a kind of all in one reply.
Reading the many comments I am strongly disconcerted about the following, and if you think I´m preaching morals, you are right.
Legitimacy:
The United States of America is a signatory to the United Nations. It has a solemn obligation to adhere to the principles, tenets and paragraphs of it´s charter as well as subsequent contracts. It seems, that the debate does not focus on that fact at all, which is eliciting one of the most serious problems that the world and global peace is facing today;
The United States, the rogue state, the nation that freed itself from the grip of usurpers and colonial power has become the colonial master, who utterly disregards international law. How do you think the world is perceiving the USA, and do you feel comfortable with the fact that the USA today is perceived as Germany was perceived not too many years ago. Is it all right? Should we utterly abandon the attempt to create a civilized world where disputes are settled peacefully?
legitimacy.
In the light of the fact that thousands of black Libyans have been massacred by Al Qaeda aka Libyan Islamic Fighting Group aka Tripoli Military Counsel fighters, in the light of the fact NATO helicopter gunships repeatedly have shot into crowds of civilians demonstrating against the aggression, in the light of the fact that NATO bombs have killed thousands, and maimed more, do you agree that UNSC resolution 1973 has been utterly and shamelessly abused? What should the consequences of the crime against peace, the crime of genocide be, or do you find it all right that the US – the messenger of hope and democracy is exempt from justice?
During the first night since the “implementation of the no fly zone ” some 100 missiles hit Tripoli. Tripoli is a densely populated city with over one million people living there. Where do you live ? Can you imagine 100 missiles fired into Manhattan, Austin, Bismark, Denver, Fayetteville ? Just think a moment. Just one moment ok? Is it all right. Or is it like making love for preserving virginity.
What about Putin deciding to bomb Obama. Makes sense ? How can it be that the people of the USA see no problem in their government killing foreign nations legitimate leaders. How do you think the world perceives you. Do you agree or do you think it´s time the US changes course and tries to become a respectable member of the international community again.
Since this is a veterans site. Do you think it is all right, that your government is sending you to risk your lives and limbs in wars based on lies. Don´t you deserve better. You belong to the bravest and finest of the country, let me tell you, “You deserve better!”
I belief that the average military man in the USA is a decent guy or girl, and I know quite a few. So is the average US citizen in all social strata. You see, there were also a lot of German people, nice, decent people, who said ” I really didn´t know how bad things really were”. You have no Idea how many times I have heard that one. I belief the most healthy development for you, US Americans, would be to stop for a minutes ( many in fact ), and take the time to inform yourselves how the rest of the world perceives you today. I am certain, that you won´t like what you will discover, and I am sure that you know, that you ought to care about it.
My warmest regards, and all the best wishes to all of you.

Christof has a new piece, “Libya The Night That Killed The Lies”, http://en.m4.cn/2011/10/16/most-of-tripoli-is-liberated/, which I highly recommend as an alternative source of information about the situation there:
Most of Tripoli is Liberated, Sirte is holding on, Bani Walid, Sabah, Zliten, and countless other cities are free. As morning came to Libya the results of the onset of a new stage of the Libyan Liberation become undeniable. While Libyans mourn the death of those fallen in the fight for liberation, the TNC and NATO mourn massive losses of territory, troops, and trust. NATO and the TNC lost over 1.000 fighters, and over 1.500 are wounded. Their greatest casualty however is the Lies about Libya, which were put to rest by the new phase of Libya´s Liberation.
One day ago, not long after midnight it became clear. The legitimate Libyan Government had called upon the people of Libya to come out in numbers on the 14th of October and to protest the bombing and occupation of Libya by NATO and it´s TNC Proxy mercenaries and Proxy Government. It also became clear that the calls for leaving areas under TNC control to avoid civilian casualties were legitimate, and a warning of what was waiting. Then, all buildings [and] housing offices of the TNC were declared legitimate targets that could be destroyed or burned.
In the early morning hours of 14 October, parts of Sirte were under TNC Control, some 25 % of Sabah, 25 % of Bani Walid, 25 % of Bengazi, and Tripoli in spite of ardent resistance still much under TNC control. This picture would change dramatically over the next 24 hours.
At 02.30 the people of Zuwara rose up against the TNC fighters, burned the local TNC office, and forced the occupiers to flee the town, taking heavy casualties. Also in many other cities, the demonstrations started off during the early morning hours, as if people could not take the oppression, massacres and atrocities for one moment longer. Libya was at the brink of exploding from anger and frustration.
In Tripoli demonstrations began around 08.00 o’clock in the morning but began to really manifest, when a large contingent of militia from the Wirsh Fana Tribe entered Tripoli at about 15.00 o´clock. The troops were met with massive jubilation, and when it became known that Dr. Moussa Ibrahim was waiting in one of Tripoli´s suburbs, it was as if the citizens of Tripoli understood the message, “This is it today we take our city and our country back”.
The arrival of the Wirsh Fana Tribal Militia in Tripoli prompted several hast retreats by TNC fighters, in among other Bani Walid, Sirte, and Sabah, and in all cases the hasty, often chaotic retreats were the cause of heavy casualties. The retreat to reinforce Tripoli was a drive through a shooting gallery, as people all over Libya rose to the occasion.
At 16.00 o´clock there were massive demonstrations and crowds waving green flags throughout Libya. Also in the afternoon, the TNC began attacks on protesters and Libyan Forces in Tripoli. Demonstrations were sprayed with light and heavy machine gun fire from the ground, and from NATO helicopters, to great suffering, but to little avail. The same horrendous crime of shooting into demonstrations was reported from Al Jumaa and many other towns and districts. As if the TNC and NATO had to provide the final evidence for what brand of “Democracy” they are advocating, by “protecting civilian lives in Libya”.
At 18.00 o´clock nsnbc received reports that heavy fighting had broken out in several areas of Tripoli, and that Abu Salim and other districts were firmly in the hands of Libyan Forces. At 18.30 a NATO Apache helicopter was shot down en route to disperse demonstrations. http://nsnbc.wordpress.com/2011/10/15/14-10-2011/khamis-ghadafi-5/
As the severity of the “crisis” became obvious for NATO and the TNC, more reinforcements were ordered towards Tripoli. AT 19.30 an additional detachment of TNC fighters left their positions in Zawiya en route to Tripoli, the detachment fell into an ambush of units from the elite 32nd Brigade led by Khamis Ghadafi. The entire convoy was destroyed and there were numerous casualties and prisoners. By now, there was heavy fighting in Abu Salim, Alhadbah, Bab Ben Ghasir, Salehaddeen, Al Nasser, and Al Bahi districts of Tripoli.
At 21.00 yesterday evening a security estimate of the situation in Libya stated: 50 – 60 % of Tripoli Liberated.
80 % of Bengazi are free, and the TNC head Quarter in Bengazi was stormed by Libyan Forces. Over 90 % of TNC – Members had resigned, fleeing Tripoli.
Close to 22.00 o´clock the Tripoli Military Counsel deployed a large number of armored vehicles to protect the most critical areas and facilities still under TNC control, while the areas under Libyan control became increasingly consolidated.
At 21.47 nsnbc received reports that NATO planes had begun a massive bombing campaign against Abu Salim. A caller from the scene said “they are carpet bombing our district”. At 21.55 reports that an additional contingent of tribal militia men from the Wirsh Fana Triba had arrived in Tripoli, entirely changing the military situation. Attacks on heavily fortified TNC and NATO positions began, while special operations units from the Libyan Forces began deploying to capture key Libyan and foreign political and military figures. In a move to counter the new deployments, the TNC deployed snipers on the roofs of Omar Mukhtar Street.
The city of Gheriyan pronounced it was a free city again. Like Gherian, many other cities throughout Northern Libya cast out the occupiers by both armed attacks and impressive demonstrations that clarified it once and for all “Libyans will never except a TNC that is forced on them by NATO”.
22.45 nsnbc received reports that the Rixos Hotel, Military Camp 77, and the Green Square were under attack by Libyan Forces. When Libyan Forces arrived at the Green Square it became obvious that a massive massacre had taken place there. The square was strewn with dead demonstrators that had been killed by TNC fighters. Further reports, not yet confirmed, state that the U.S.-Ambassador to Libya is missing.
The tribes from Zlitan and Gheriya declared they could send reinforcements to Tripoli and Sirte. Early this morning, a NATO, Chinook Helicopter was shot down near Zlitan. Heavy fighting continues throughout Northern Libya as this article is sent on-line.
As the redaction of this article closes, at 13.30 GMT, there is fighting throughout Tripoli. The night before 15 October was a night of heavy casualties for the TNC and NATO. With the utter disregard for human life and human values both TNC and NATO have shown, the greatest casualty that is mourned by them today is most likely “The Death of the Lies about Libya”.

Libya and NATO´s Killer Narratives.
Posted on October 16, 2011 by nsnbc
Khamis Ghadafi
Words can kill. The first victim of war is the truth. We know the proverbs but tend to forget that the killer force of narratives is thousand fold potentiated when there is war, and the force of the pen is combined with the force of the sword. Various media, including Arrai TV reported yesterday and today of the death of Khamis Ghadafi, commander of the 32nd Elite Brigade that stood for implementing the strategy that since has given NATO a serious dent in it´s armor, and decimated NATO´s army of mercenaries, terrorists, indoctrinated Jihadis and opportunistic vultures hired by contractors like XE. So far, the death of Khamis Ghadafi could not be confirmed for nsnbc, and even alternative media seem to be missing one point. The Libyan Liberation is a struggle against new colonialism, not directed against a family, but against all Africans. The resistance is not a family or person, but African People who are waking up to the aggression of the Anglo American Empire. Words can kill, also if they neglect to focus on central issues.
By Dr. Christof Lehmann
After the successful implementation of a new phase of resistance on Friday, that began with nation wide demonstrations, and resulted in the liberation of large parts of Tripoli, and other cities in Northern Libya, the message that the commander of the 32nd Elite Brigade of the Libyan Armed Forces, Khamis Ghadafi had been killed. The reports were aired on several media, including ARRAI TV, which is widely recognized as the “official voice” of the legitimate Libyan Government. Other usually well informed media, like the Algeria ISP inform that the death of Khamis Ghadafi is fabricated by NATO Intelligence. In the light of the recent months repeated false alarms, and the fact that nsnbc so far has not received a positive confirmation, it would be premature to either confirm or reject the reports.
Military and Intelligence Analysts co-operating with nsnbc have for a long time had suspicions that the repeated fabricated messages of the capture of prominent political and military functionaries of the legitimate Libyan Government are functions of an operation with the purpose of tracing lines of communications between the political and military leadership and media. The hypothesis was strongly supported, when nsnbc received reports that NATO had begun targeting buildings in Sirte, from where cellphone and satellite phone calls were made to abroad. Analysts agreed that this was not only an attempt to isolate the population, and to prevent reports of the massive war crimes to get out to the European and American Public. With Western Corporate Media firmly controlled, that would be a secondary consideration only. The main function of the strategy was expected to be the reduction of lines of communication for the Libyan Government and Military leadership to media, in an attempt to target leadership structures. Algeria ISP could today confirm the hypothesis, when it reported that NATO and TNC have implemented the disinformation campaign for enabling them to find Government and Military functionaries.
The attention on leading political and military functionaries of the legitimate Libyan Government has one more, equally critical function, which is, distracting the public from the fact that the war is not directed against “a Libyan Government”, or “a Libyan family” “a Libyan Political or Military Leader” or “the State of Libya”, but that it is part of a long planned, gradually implemented war against every independent nation state in North- and North Western Africa, as part of a war on China and Russia.
As much as Muammar Ghadafi, Khamis Ghadafi, Dr. Moussa Ibrahim, and other governmental and military leading functionaries of the legitimate Libyan Government are loved by the Libyan people, as much is it a fact, that the regrettable murder of any of them would not stop NATO´s Colonial War; neither would it diminish the will and ability of the Libyan People to resist. NATO is desperate in maintaining a narrow spectrum narrative in media coverage, and this narrow narrative is what is killing thousands, by keeping Western European and American Populations suspended in a Soap Opera like coverage of what is part of the new colonization of Africa. Besides that, the narrative distracts attention from the fact, that NATO and the TNC are loosing the war on the ground, and the fact that the most grotesque war crimes are committed on the Libyan People on a daily basis. As for nsnbc, an obituary for Khamis Ghadafi will be delayed, until the legitimate Libyan Government has had the time to use save channels of communication to either confirm or reject NATO´s and TNC´s claim.
The military situation in Libya is volatile, but in spite of NATO´s absolute dominance in the air, special forces, and imported mercenaries, the resistance is making an agonizingly slow, but steady progress. According to the latest reports nsnbc received directly from Libya, most of the residential districts of Tripoli are controlled by Libyan Forces and popular resistance. The green flag was hoisted over the Rixos Hotel, and Military Camp 77 in Tripoli. There are heavy clashes in the inner city as well as throughout greater Tripoli. In Bani Walid most of the city is under Libyan Forces control, but an isolated group of TNC Fighters is holding an estimated 20 % of the city under their control. The city of Zawiyah is free. There is heavy fighting in Tarhuna, where one of the TNC´s most prominent military leaders, Hakim Abu Zoadh Naaji was killed. Hakim Naaji is one of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group members and prisoners that were released from Abu Salim Prison during an amnesty granted by Saif Al-Islam.
The initiation of the new phase of resistance on Friday and the transfer of the fight into Tripoli has forced the TNC and NATO to withdraw a significant amount of fighters from Sirte. The amount of attacks into the city has been reduced, and there have been mounted fierce counter attacks. There seems to be a shift towards a not less lethal, and not less criminal strategy. Throughout the night, Sirte has been subject to relentless barrages of light, medium range and heavy artillery.
It is not only artillery fire, bombs and machine guns that are NATO´s most potent weapons against Libya. One of the greatest weapons against the people of Libya and the People of Africa is NATO´s Pen, represented by corporate media, which do not report the fact that the USA, EU and NATO are in the implementation phase of an aggressive colonization of Northern and Western Africa, which may result in a global conflict of unfathomable consequences.

Gordon, Maybe we use the word “propaganda” differently. As I use the term, it means the deliberated dissemination of false information which the source knows to be false but distributes with the intent to mislead his audience. I have had many exchanges with Christof, including interviewing him on “The Real Deal”, and I am convinced the man is sincere and believes everything he says. Neo-Colonialism, Subversion in Africa and Global Conflict, Part I
http://nsnbc.wordpress.com/2011/10/16/neo-colonialism-subversion-in-africa-and-global-conflict/
Posted on October 16, 2011 by nsnbc
The withdrawal of the old colonial powers from Africa, in the context of a developing cold war, (1), a developing Pan-African Nationalism (2), and the rising cost of maintaining a colonial administration system, during the nineteen-hundred and sixties left the African nations in a euphoric state of independence. In most cases this euphoria was soon to be substituted by chocking massacres and conflict, coup d´etats unrest and destabilization. The old colonial rulers had returned with a vengeance. Over fifty years later, most African nations are, in spite of the richness of their resources and productivity of their population, still catastrophically under developed, impoverished, endebbed, plagued by conflict, unrest and instability due to the return of the colonial powers influence. Those African nations who failed to comply with their returning rulers were and are mercilessly attacked. Libya and the Ivory Coast are examples for the new colonizations subversive influence, and a warning for African leaders to face the lion in solidarity or be devoured one by one.
Common Denominators.
All conflicts in post-colonial African wars as well as internal unrest have the same common elements. The involvement of foreign nations, the instrumentalization of local elements, and the goal to control resources, economy, and geopolitically as well as strategically significant locations. Western Medias narrative of French, British, and US-American involvement in Africa is commonly manufacturing popular consent by eliciting a fabled advocacy for stability, human rights, and democracy for African countries; nothing could be farther from the truth. Stability, human rights and democracy are but the pretext for aggressive neo-colonial subversion, invasion, long-term military presence and control. This subversion and invasion has acquired an additional dimension after China began to invest massively on the African continent. While the traditional colonial powers and the USA maintained the traditional role of the supremacist usurper, China is, though resource, trade and profit oriented, taking an approach of joint ventures and contribution to the development of African Nations infrastructure (3). After all, the Chino-African model of free market enterprise and joint venture can not function if African nations don´t develop to such degree that they can import consumer goods that are manufactured in China. Thus, since China began vesting interests in Africa, the traditional colonial powers and the USA´s subversions and aggressions began being directed against primarily China, and secondarily Russia, which is recently re-discovering it´s strength as a global power, after a period of restructuring and re-consolidation after the collapse of the USSR (4).
The neo-colonial model of subversion is based on directing and co-opting local instruments, such as opposition parties, human rights organizations, an ongoing internal low intensity conflict, as well as expatriate communities, expatriates sponsored and with ties to i.e. the National Endowment for Democracy, and other Institutes, NGO´s and Organizations that are notorical for their involvement in subversions (5). These systems interface with both civilian and military intelligence services and special operations forces, in a logical, systematic approach that invariably has the same outcome; the subversion of the country, and the installation of a controlled, friendly, or proxy government. Precisely the same methodology is explained in an analysis of the subversion of Syria that began with the “Arab Spring” in 2011 (6). A successful subversion without the co-conspiracy of local elements is neither viable nor desirable. A U.S. Training Manual for Unconventional Warfare is breaking such terms as feasibility for subversion down into operational details (7). The co-opting of local opposition in African subversions has been an invariable part of neo-colonial strategy since day one of neo-colonialism, when the Congolese Government and Patrice Lumumba were overthrown by creating and aggravating internal tensions, and the financial, as well as covert military support of an armed insurgency with it´s basis in a local militia (8). The function of any of these subversions is invariably the controlling of resources and wealth while keeping the African Nations impoverished and endebbed, and since the beginning of the rapid development of China´s economy, the geopolitical as well as economical warfare on Russia and China.
Mercenary Armies in Colonial Warfare and Al Qaeda.
Abdelhakim Belhadj LIFG
The use of local instruments in subversions has largely been based on either tribal or religious aspects. A prime example of this strategy is Angola. After the Socialist MPLA, backed by Cuba and the USSR came to power in Angola, the Western Block, read NATO countries, began building and supporting two alternative movements, the NFLA in Northern, and UNITA in Southern Angola. Both the NFLA and UNITA were based on the same charter, but were divided by tribal affiliation (9). In the case of Afghanistan, the USA and NATO countries heavily supported what was then called “Mujahedeen”, and a CIA-run network of Arab mercenaries, which came to become known as Al-Qaeda (10). The same network of mainly Arab and Afghan mercenaries was used by NATO in the war on Serbia, and the conquering of Kosovo (11), and the same network has been used against Libya by Western Intelligence Services for decades, and it is currently delivering the core of the so called “rebels” in Libya (12). How NATO is using this “network” or Al Qaeda, depending on what function it is supposed to fulfill in a given operation, as respectively purported enemy or ally is elicited by a West Point Study (13), that shows that the same Al Qaeda Terrorist Network in Bengazi and Derna, Libya, the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, delivered the greatest per capita contribution of foreign fighters against the USA in Iraq, while the same LIFG is now providing the core around which among other, CIA imported Afghan Fighters (14) are installed in the theater of operations in the occupation of Libya.
At the onset of what is generally termed “The Arab Spring” in Libya, US-President Barak Obama signed an order, designating CIA operatives to the eastern Libyan cities Derna and Bengazi, in preparation of the final stages of the covert, and the beginning stages of the overt subversion of the Libyan Government (15) . Publicly, Obama sent the CIA operatives to “analyze” the rebel forces. This analysis however, had been done in the West Point Study (ibid.) long before, and knowing about how intelligence operations are performed, was part of the step by step strategy for subversion, explained in the TC18-01 Unconventional Warfare manual (ibid.). The military leader of the Al Qaeda fraction Libyan Islamic Fighting group was re labeled “rebels” and not long time after into the Tripoli Military Counsel (16). Meanwhile, the Corporate Western Media villanized and positioned Muammar Ghadafi and the Libyan Government as dictatorial villains, that indiscriminately bombed “peaceful protesters” while it´s Al Qaeda and Associated Army of Mercenaries, and the political proxies Mahmud Jibril, Jalil, and a cohort of “anonymous “politicians” of the Transitional National Counsel were made into the heroes of the Libyan Revolution. The manufacturing of consent by media is one invariable element of warfare. The manufacturing of a quasi legitimate new government is an invariable element of neo-colonial strategy, as it can be observed on the example of the manufacturing of the National Counsel of Syria, which is in NATO´s sights too (17). The main obstacle for the advance of neo-colonialism on the African Continent has never been Al Qaeda, but Muammar Ghadafi, the Libyan Government, as well as Laurent Gbagbo of Ivory Coast, and Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.
Do Africans really know what a Supreme Court is.
In Ivory Coast, the situation was not unlike the one in Libya. Ivory Coast held a Presidential Election, with an apparently very close outcome. In Western Corporate Media all we hear is, that the Electoral Commission of Ivory Coast had declared Outara the winner of the elections. What Western Media failed to report was, that there had been wide spread election fraud, that the President of Ivory Coast and his party took the election results to the supreme court, and that the supreme court declared Laurent Gbagbo the winner of the election and thus Laurent Gbagbo to be the lawful President Elect of Ivory Coast. What was reported, and emphatically reported, was that “security forces” clamp down on “peaceful protesters”, and then, that “Outara´s Army” is cornering Gbagbo “in his bunker”(18) . This news Coverage and manufacturing of Consent is only possible in populations that are inherently racist and traditional or neo-colonial powers (19). The important question is, where did Outara, who just claimed to have won the election, gotten an “Army” from. Unless a population is so used to condescending racism and colonialist thinking, one would immediately say, but the electoral commission is not the one to approve of election results, it´s the Supreme Court. Not so, if the audience is inherently racist, and inherently thinking in a way typical for colonial powers; condescending towards the wild and uncivilized African (ibid.). To illustrate the point on a Western Example. When George Bush and Al Gore had the closest ever election held in the United States of America (20), who certified the election? The Supreme Court (21). Even though many Americans felt utterly disenfranchised, the population respected the Supreme Court. Can you for one moment imagine that “Al Gore cornered Bush in his bunker, with Al Gore´s Army, neglecting the Supreme Court, because an Electoral Commission had pronounced him the winner ? “ Where would Al Gore have gotten an Army from anyways. What happened in Ivory Coast was, that France and the United States backed Outara at neglecting the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Counsel of Ivory Coast because the Supreme Court decided in favor of Laurent Gbagbo and not the Proxy President of Noe-Colonialism in Africa.
Laurent Gbagbo
Where did Outara get an Army from? Outara´s “Army” consisted of a collection of “rebel forces” or French backed insurgents from the Northern part of Ivory Coast, who had been convinced by the French DGSE (22) and old colonial power structures, inherent in among other French Freemasonry in Arica, to side with Outara, against Laurent Gbagbo (23). Besides that, 2.500 French soldiers (24), plus U.N. Soldiers (25) were present, taking actively part in the ousting of Laurent Gbagbo, and the legitimate government of Ivory Coast. That is where Outara got “His Army” from. Insurgents, French and U.N. Troops were Outara´s Army. (26) An army that murdered thousands of Ivory Coast´s citizens in the neo-colonial post-modern coup d´etat. Justice on Laurent Gbagbo is then served at the United Nation´s ICC making the U.N., France and the USA the judge, the jury, and the executioner.(27)
(more to come)
Neo-Colonialism, Subversion in Africa and Global Conflict, Part II
http://nsnbc.wordpress.com/2011/10/16/neo-colonialism-subversion-in-africa-and-global-conflict/
So “why” had France to remove Gbagbo from Office.
The question that needs to be answered, before it is possible to discern why the events in Ivory Coast and Libya as they do is “why” did the USA and France want Laurent Gbagbo and Ghadafi removed from political office. The unrests, the engineering of dissent, the alliances with armed militia, politicians and oligarchs are nothing but “functions” and “instruments”. It is comparable with a script for a play in the world political theater; the script is written, the acts planned, long before the cast of actors is chosen. The discourse of political reporting, and the manufacturing of opinion discuss the cast, seldom the play writer, almost never the play writers motivation, and that is one of the most critical functions of media with respect to social engineering. It is absolutely necessary to have an understanding of this background to understand the subversions in Ivory Coast and Libya. After World War II the European Economies were scrambling to reconstitute. So was that of France, which devised long term plans for economical recovery in several phases. The traditional form of colonial control by military might and absolute political control had, in spite of the richness of African resources, become too costly, to cumbersome, and in the light of the depletion of military force due to two major conflicts, become impossible. What is also noteworthy is, that the post-war period also is the period where the development of media and Public Relations significantly began substituting police and military force as instruments for social control (28).
Laurent Gbagbo had discussions with other visionary African leaders who not only knew that the new-colonization of Africa was keeping African nations impoverished and virtually enslaved, it´s citizens being the back bone of new colonial powers economy, but who had vision, courage, and integrity in resisting the usurpers of Europe, the USA, and globalized Corporate Influences. Most prominently, Robert Mugabe, President of Zimbabwe, and Muammar al-Ghadafi, honorary leader of the Libyan Revolution. One of the main reasons why Laurent Gbagbo had to be replaced by France, and replaced fast, was that Gbagbo was not only seriously working towards creating Ivory Coasts own currency, that would be independent on France, but that he, like Robert Mugabe and Muammar Ghadafi, actively lobbied and encouraged other African nations in the CFA region to follow suit (29). The main reason why France “never would allow this to happen” in one of it´s old colonies is, that the CFA is one of the main sources of income for the French economy. Not only does France control the value of the CFA, and thus how much it earns on trade with CFA nations, not only does France cooperate with the IMF on regular devaluations of the CFA (30), France is printing the money for and exerts absolute control over the eight African countries economy.
More over, the monetary policy of France in governing the eight nations economy is in fact operated by the French Treasury, without any reference to the central fiscal authorities of any of these eight nations. Under the terms of the CFA Agreement, it is France that is unilaterally setting up these African nations Central Banks, and each of the eight countries is obliged to keep at least 65 % of it´s foreign exchange reserves in an “operations account” held at the French Treasury, as well as another 20% to cover financial liabilities (31). In other words, 85 % of all foreign exchange reserves of Ivory Coast, Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bisau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo are 100 % under control of the French Treasury, with France in a position to devalue and manipulate these countries economy to it´s own advantage. The CFA was created to keep African nations impoverished, to maintain the plunder of their resources and wealth, while feeding the French and European Economy (32). The social unrest that follows in the wake of new devaluations (33), is then hard handedly oppressed by those “African Vice Roy´s” that are nepotist enough to co-operate with France as agents of their own nations and peoples enslavement. Laurent Gbagbo opposed the colonial master because Laurent Gbagbo was working for the benefit of his people and Ivory Coast; That is why Laurent Gbagbo had to be removed.
So why did the Sun Kings of Europe and the USA hate Ghadafi.
Colonialism in Africa has changed significantly since the USA entered African Politics after world war two, and very significantly, with the consolidation of the European Union. While France has particular national interests in the CFA region, most of Southern Europe’s states are working towards an expansion of the European Market to the Mediterranean Basin, and a new colonization by means of economic control and military presence in Northern Africa. Seldom mentioned in the corporate media, the Royal Family of Morocco is a stern supporter of this policy. Cooperation on multiple areas, such as the control of the Mediterranean Basin States Social Economy (34) have been implemented for years.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy made it his personal ambition to achieve what even Napolean did not , a colonization of the entire Northern and Western African Continent. In 2008 France and the European Union had been so far in their preparations, that the only remaining obstacle for it´s North African Colonial Ambitions was Libya, and Libya outright rejected to play into the hands of the want to be colonialists. When asked for his opinion about the Mediterranean Basin alliance, Muammar Ghadafi said: “If Europe wants co-operation, it should go through Cairo and Adis Abeba”. (35) In 2008, President Sarkozy wanted to make the Mediterranean Alliance his contribution to the European Union, and during the six months of the French E.U. Presidency (ibid.) French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner did not only convey Sarkozy´s “disappointment”, but clearly indicated that Libya and Ghadafi had become “the” obstacle for further colonial expansion in Northern Africa, when he stated that “ Colonel Ghadafi is not in agreement with this vision. Neither was he in agreement with the Barcelona process which we intend to support and pursue”(ibid.).
The reason why Libya opposed the Mediterranean Alliance was, that it would have split, rather than united African Nations. Rather than establishing one more “zone” like the CFA Region in Northern Africa, Ghadafi and Libya were lobbying the African Union to abandon the CFA treaties with France, and to establish a Pan-African, gold backed currency, which would end the usury, the robbery of African nations ressources, and the enslavement of an entire continents population. The Libyan arguments were persuasive. Libya had the highest per capita GDP, the highest standard of living, social services, wages, job security, education program, litteracy rate, and countless other “firsts” among African Nations. After Ghadafi´s and Libya´s out right rejection of the Mediterranean Alliance (ibid.) and success at lobbying for a Pan-African currency, with among other Laurent Gbagbo from Ivory Coast meant, that the USA and Europe had only one option left, to topple the Libyan Government by any means necessary.
The Myth of an African Union.
To understand the full range of the problem Libya created. It is necessary what the African Union (AU) is. The African Union was established in 2002 by member states of the former Organization of African Unity (OAU). The OAU was established in 1963 with the function to facilitate African Nations transition to independence, to counter all forms of colonialism, and protect the independence and national integrity of African Nations (36). The transition from the OAU to the African Union in 2002 was nothing else but the European Union´s co-opting the only forum that actively lobbied against neo-colonialism, and substitute it with an African Union, that is modeled over the European Union (37). The African Union is, but the new colonial administration of a now united Europe.
With approximately one third of the entire budget of the African Union paid for by the European Union, as alms to Africa, taken from the money that is usurped from Africa, the African Union is but the European Union´s Colonial Administration. An African Court of Justice (38) modeled over the ICC, an African Investment Bank, an African Development Bank, and an African Central Bank, managed by Europe, for Europe and the USA (39), and global Finance Capital (40). The African Union did not “cower in the light of pressure from the E.U” (41) as some interpreted it´s support of UNSC Resolution 1973 (42), the African Union strictly spoken functioned exactly as it was designed to do; as an instrument for the new colonization of Africa. Just like Laurent Gbagbo, who had to be removed because he wanted Ivory Coast to have it´s own currency or a Pan-African Currency under African Control rather than that of the French National Bank, Muammar Ghadafi had to be removed, because he was the one obstacle that prevented the establishment of the Mediterranean Alliance, and because his ideas about a Pan-African Gold Dinar was seriously considered by many African leaders, who do not dare to speak of it over their breath. That is “why” Ghadafi had to be removed.
The Spiral towards a Global Conflict.
Ivory Coast and the removal of incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo from office; the criminal war against Libya and the ousting of the legitimate Libyan Government, the aggressive expansion of the US African Command, the ongoing subversion of Syria, the manufacturing of war in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Yugoslavia, Somalia, Sudan, Ossetia; the manufacturing of insurgencies in Chechnya, Yemen, among other, and countless Color Revolutions and Arab Spring Coup d´etat have only been possible for two reasons. The fact that Russia was severely destabilized after the collapse of the USSR, and under the Presidency of Boris Yeltsin, who strip sold Russian Assets to Global Oligarchs, and which had to find it´s footing as a global power. The fact that the transformation of the Chinese economy was prioritized higher by China than the defense of the nations in Africa, that provide much of the resources that drive the Chinese economy.
Already at the International Security Conference in Munich, 2007, then President of The Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin used the strongest possible words of diplomatic parleur to warn the United States of America, saying that it´s aggressive expansionism has brought the world closer to a third world war than it has ever been before (43). After the absolutely criminal and shameless abuse of the United Nations Security Counsel Resolution 1973 and the attempt by NATO countries to abuse the UN for a similar resolution on Syria, both China and Russia responded with a veto (44). The global danger how ever, is not the fact of the veto, but the fact that the world today, with a United Nations that has utterly been co-opted by NATO countries (45), has no forum for a peaceful resolution of what increasingly seems to develop into a global war. This is in deed an unprecedented crisis, that demands unprecedented leadership, courage, and integrity.

Gordon Duff – not one of the decent military who was against war but drafted and went to fight. He is a war terrorist and a true war addict like many who after experienced the hell of combat thought it the greatest experiede in their lives and desspite the hell that went on around them came home and spent the rest of their lives profiting from lying about how great war is, promoting more wars, lying about wars, and refusing to try to help put a stop to ongoing increase in the escalation of the expense, the troops, the equipment, the destruction, the cost, the suffering, the damage to the countries and lives lost. Christof Lehman spent more than enough time as did I and many others to try to reasonably get you to see the facts that you are wrong. You can have your opinion that you your self enjoy war and killing but it is wrong to force that hell on anyone else. Stick to war games. If you had any decency you and your fellow veterans who had the good health to be able to work after returning should be actively encouraging non violence and diplomacy not war. You obviously hate Gaddaffi, hate blacks, love Israel, why you believe such lies. Nato not Gaddaffi started war and Nato, Israel, Gulf States have proof. Proof shows Gaddaffi Govt did not fire from any helicopters or planes and there are tons of lies like Graves online that turn out to be Camel bones or done by Rebels. Most rebels are not even Libyand, most admit to being alqaeda, shariah not democratic, admit hating Israel, admit paid to fight against Gaddaffi, admit to being non citizens. Nato refused an election because Gaddaffi would win. Yes you may have access to resources that Christof Lehman or Gaddaffi or I don’t and you or Nato can bomb but that is not victory. The country is in a state of hell, Nato officials admitted it and admitted their operation totally failed. The people most have either fled if they could, stayed thinking they were safe then died or were injured, some fought back not wanting to live under Rebel/NTC alqaeda terrorists who have proudly in front of journalists committed rapes, kidnappings, robberies, burned housing, stolen property, tortured, chemical weapons, mulilated body parts, advertised online cannabalism, and bragged of killing each other and killing Nato and spies and Nato military. One can support or not support Gaddaffi & his Govt but that is no reason to force a Nato war on Libya or do nothing as China and RUssia did by abstaining in the UN vote to prevent the war. Nato was for defense against USSR which does not exist so Nato should not exist. As an American you should be less concerned with Gaddaffi and more concerned with Nato/ISrael/Euro killing millions of people in illegal immoral wars. And someday that can happen to the US and Israel and Nato and the so called Missile defense or Nuclear weapons or ground troops for what ever reason may not work to provide adequate security and defense. Especially when Russia,China,Pakistan,& a few other countries I believe have nuclear capability may decide to use it. Stop war. Or you may cause war on yourself and your country and on the Nato coalition. And don’t expect any country to come to USA ans Israel and Nato /Euro’s defense.A waste of trillions went to wars destroying countries, lives, properties, environments that can never be undone and that money could have gone to peace, diplomacy, ending famine, poverty, homeliness, inequality, injustice, religious and ethnic intolerance, etc.Thousands of universities offer degrees in peace, diplomacy, conflict resolution,, politics, relations, counseling, law, ethics, social psychology. None of them say it is better to ignore all these courses and break the laws and kill people. No countries have laws that say it is better to fire the thousands of govt workers in all countries who work for peace and just have 100 govt workers dropping nuclear bombs as govt operations. The UN Resolutions were broken, Intl law and human rights law were broken, the US Constitution and Bill of Rights laws and Civil Liberties and Democracy were violated Stop advocating for genocide. Maybe you are trying to promote genocide by the Libyan terrorist rebels to justify all the Vietnam Vets genocide but adding war is like adding cancer, it just makes more hell. .
Here are Christof Lehmann’s latest reports about Libya for those who want to learn more about his views.
Libya Democracy after Defeat of Opposition.
Early in September, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Transitional National Counsel (TNC) Mahmud Jibril declared, that the TNC would bring Democracy to Libya within 20 months. Early in October, Jibril told the media of the world, that the establishment of democratic institutions in Libya would have to be delayed, until the war against “the remaining resistance” was won, and that he would resign from his office once the democratic process was on the way. In the light of the fact that the ongoing NATO campaign fails to break the will and ability of the Libyan People and Military to resist, and that the war is bound to continue for months or even years, where is the fulfillment of the promises of democracy, of singing tomorrows, of protecting civilians now? And will the global actors who could end the massacre of Libyans step up to their responsibilities, or will the political grand standing against NATO continue with cheap words only.

Neo-Colonialism, Subversion in Africa and Global Conflict

It now appears that the UN was about to present him with a commendation to recogize his work on behalf of human rights. It looks like that is what caused NATO to strike first to take him out. Egad!
