Atlantic Quakes Could Trigger Mega-Tsunami

Dangerous developments in the bizarre Canary Islands earthquake swarm, which began in July, have the government of the small East Atlantic nation worried — but the threat reaches far beyond, across the ocean to the U.S. East Coast.
Eleven years ago the BBC introduced the Canaries mega-tsunami theory to the English-speaking world in a broadcast special, since then rebroadcast widely and frequently, that named La Palma as the trigger for an Atlantic Apocalypse:

“What will happen when the volcano on the Canary Island of La Palma collapses? Scientists predict that it will generate a wave that will be almost inconceivably destructive, far bigger than anything ever witnessed in modern times. It will surge across the entire Atlantic in a matter of hours, engulfing the whole US east coast, sweeping away everything in its path up to 20 kilometers inland. Boston would be hit first, followed by New York, then all the way down the coast to Miami and the Caribbean.” — BBC, October 12, 2000
The mainstay theory seems perilously possible now, but the mainstream media is strangely silent about it. After airing the mega-tsunami scenario when it was an abstraction, why do they avoid it now that it’s becoming an actuality? While it’s bad for journalists to be an alarmist, it’s far worse for them to not report an alarming possibility, or for his editors to bury their reports. While Internet investigators are ridiculed as conspiracy theorists, in the case of a possible mega-tsunami — one that could liquidate millions of lives — there is plainly a conspiracy of silence. After Fukushima, how can a journalist wave off a tsunami story?
The extracts below, from present to past, document the danger. They are from sources that differ about much, but agree about the danger of a mega-tsunami.
Scientists from several countries have cautioned that should a volcanic eruption occur and part of the Hierro land mass sluff off into the ocean, a mega-tsunami could erupt and have a dramatic effect on the Eastern shores of the United States, where people within a 20-mile radius of the coast would have about eight hours to evacuate. – The Lone Star Iconoclast, yesterday

I read in an alternative news souce that a nucluar sub exploded off the coast? Any idea if this is true?
I’ve been following the Cumbre Vieja thing for many years now.
As I understand it, it’s almost a certainty that it will erupt again, and once it does, it’s almost a certainty that the Western half of it will collapse into the ocean, as predicted, causing a mega-Tsunami that will travel across the Atlantic at 600 mph and take out a lot of property.
I expect a disaster of that magnitude may even interrupt the Empire’s plans for world rule…especially if New York and Washington DC are taken out.
If it should happen to occur at night (Eastern time), after most people are sleeping, I imagine the toll will be much higher than if it happens during the day when people will have 6 hours notice to evacuate.
Yellowstone park is overdue for a spew. The Ring of Fire in the Pacific has had it way with New Zealand and Japan this year and the West Coast of the USA is the other hot spot. Christchurch in NZ is still rumbling on a daily basis; they have had several thousand earthquakes since the big one in February .
This is why I am worried about America’s unwinnable wars, America has no money in the kitty if something big and bad happens. One big natural disaster on top of unwinnable wars will be the end of America.
On the bright side, given the evil that “America” is doing, all over the world, and given that “America” seems to be pushing the world to WW3, “the end of ‘America’” as we know it might not be such a bad thing.
Ain’t it the truth. I’ve been thinking that the U.S. is a danger to the world and should be isolated. Hoping protests do something to turn things around.
I have also followed it for a while. There are differing claims as to what would happen, or even if there would be a sudden collapse as opposed to gradual slide, but as a worst case it could be a catastrophe. Some sort of warning and evac plan should be worked out just in case, you don’t want to be caught like the Japs were, except maybe 100 or even 1000 times worse.
Oh Boy. This is frightening. My only child lives in the D.C. area. Uhhh any idea when this may occur?

Yes, I saw the Daily Mail Sept. 29 article about the evacuation of the smallest Canary island. I have known of the mega-tsunami possibility for years now; pray God it does not happen anytime soon.

PEACE thoughts:
I have thought a great deal about what it means to make peace, over many years, since 1966, so that is now 45 years. 1966 is the year I read Auschwitz, a book by Dr. Miklós Nyiszli, which made me realize the absolute necessity for peace. I was 10 years old, reading things that no 10-year old should read or experience, ever. I decided then, that I would fight Evil, wherever it resided, no matter what. I guess that’s why I never joined or swore allegiance to ANY political party, church, etc. Peace is something I have tried to work on, every day in my life, through work, leisure, reflection, prayer, through my everyday home life most of all. I have always considered myself very fortunate, because I have always known of the next world, which makes it a bit easier to bear this one. I grew up with the Native American world view, which I won’t explain here. But I will say this: Like Carl Jung, who first said this, “I don’t need to believe. I KNOW.”
So what happened lately? A very good friend, Prof. Jim Miller, was stabbed to death around 1 a.m. Sunday morning at home, by a stranger, in a home invasion, in a very small town where nothing ever happens, where they roll up the streets at 8 pm every night. He was the heart of peace, the kindest soul who ever lived. His wife Linda, who was attacked but lived, also the very best person you could meet. Both of them lived and breathed peace. I knew them as my favorite couple in Sunday school, down to earth, very humble. Although I knew him for many years, I didn’t even realize he had a doctorate, as he never used the title. He taught biology (very passionately) at a small liberal arts college, and she is on the pastoral team at church, where she works with small children. They have 2 teenagers, both of them away in a marching band competition at the time of the attack.
I know that he was good, and already is in heaven. The stranger who killed him, fled the scene. There is NO possibility that it was an enemy, as Jim had no enemies. Jim belonged to a historical peace church, and I know that he would have been an activist upon retirement.
So what can I do to honor Jim? I will get up every day, continue to work for peace, pray for peace. That’s it.
Dear Captain, You honor your good friend W Leon Smith with your well thought out and researched article. We know it takes much time and energy on your part to impart such knowledge to your readers. Such determination is a inspiration to us all.
Hear hear. I hope Captain and family know that I also noticed the dedication to W. Leon Smith. Btw, for Mr. Smith: EDTA chelation therapy is the best bet for anything to do with strokes, heart, or any circulation problem. I’ve been there already. That’s the way to go. Give him my email address, if his family wants more info.
Selective Service notes: In the old days, we had the draft and classifications. My significant other signed up as a 1-A-O during the Vietnam conflict. For those of you who don’t know what that is, that’s a Conscientious Objector with balls, a guy who won’t carry a gun, but WILL work in the military. These guys are usually medics, the most dangerous job in the world, IMHO. He didn’t get to go, thanks to President Nixon who ended the war in the nick of time for him.
BUT I have another family member, who WAS a medic, in the US Army during the Yugoslavian Civil War, the Clinton era non-war of the 1990s. He has PTSD to this day. To echo the sentiments of my favorite character in the war movie M*A*S*H, “God d–n Army”.

Science of our earth is just that. Predictions while some may be able to I have yet to hear of anyone in today’s world come forward. Chance is what we have. The facts are La Palma will cause a Tsanami sometime in the future could be tomorrow. Cascadia, Yellowstone, New Madrid, Mt. Ranier, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Hood, San Andreas all will cause mayhem in our future. Look up Edgar Casey if you wish to know of some real prophecy he lived in the early 20th century.
I do wish you to be prepared as best you can. Something is brewing and unfortunately I believe the US will get hit soon. Pray that only one of those events I listed happens and we as Americans have the time to heal!
