BBC Censorship Meltdown – Tunisian Jews Silenced

The BBC Censors its Own Report on Tunisia’s Jews Saying “No” to Israel!

One of those interviewed by Davies said to him and a listening world, “No one here is afraid.”

BBC Self Censors for the Israelis

  … by  Alan Hart

There was a moment in a report from Tunisia by the BBC’s Wyre Davies when I could not stop myself laughing. I was listening to it on the Corporation’s generally excellent World Service radio.

In my view this particular BBC service is generally excellent because unlike all other BBC news and current affairs outlets, radio and tv, it often reflects some of the truth about what is happening in and over Palestine that became Israel.

Davies was in Tunisia to find out how its remaining 2,000 Jews (down from 300,000 once upon a time) were responding to a call from an Israeli government minister for them to move to Israel.

I know my country well and I'm against the proposition to leave because no-one here is afraid” Atun Khalifa Senior figure in Tunisian Jewish community

The case the minister made was, apparently, that their security and wellbeing were no longer guaranteed in an Arab country with an Islamist government in place of what Davies called a “sectarian dictatorship”.

In other words, Tunisia’s Jews were in danger and would be safe in Israel.

My guess is that the greatest concern of the Israeli minister and his colleagues was less the fate of Jews in Tunisia and more the need for Jews from anywhere to go to Israel to help defuse the ticking demographic time-bomb of occupation.

The story as told by Davies for the BBC’s World (radio) Service was honest reporting at its best. Its explicit message was that Tunisia’s Jews have rejected the Israeli call.

One of those interviewed by Davies said to him and a listening world, “No one here is afraid.”

"Where would I go - to Europe? Come on, I'm not stupid. To Israel? I'm not that stupid either," Jacob told me as he prepared to open the restaurant for the evening. Jacob Lelouche runs the last kosher restaurant in Tunisia. He is a proud Tunisian and he is also Jewish. None of which is contradictory or in any way problematic, says Jacob.

Another said, “Go to Israel?… I’m not crazy!

That’s what made me laugh.

A subsequent development wiped the smile from my face.

A friend in Italy sent me a web link for the television version of the Davies report from Tunisia. I opened the link to check that it was the same report I’d heard on the World (radio) Service.

It started in exactly the same way so I assumed it was, and I tweeted it as “MUST WATCH: Tunisia’s Jews reject (Israel’s) call to leave,”

An hour or so later I made the time to view the complete television version.

The Jewish gentleman who said, “Go to Israel…? I’m not crazy!” had been edited out.

On past BBC form there are four possible explanations.

  1. Driven by a personal commitment to Zionism and support for its monster child right or wrong, a senior BBC executive ordered the quote to be dropped on his own initiative,
  1. A senior BBC executive received a telephone call from the Israeli Embassy in London, or possibly the prime minister’s office in Jerusalem, telling him or her that Israel would not be pleased if the BBC gave more air time to a Tunisian Jew who was saying “No” to Israel in a way that suggested he had some contempt for the Zionist state and thought that many Israelis were crazy.
  1. A senior BBC executive anticipated that giving the Jewish gentleman in Tunisia a wider audience would provoke Zionism’s wrath and decided (as BBC excutives often do) that it was better for the Corporation to censor itself than provoke that wrath.
  1. For reasons of limited space in a television news bulletin, the report for the World (radio) Service had to be edited, shortened.

I have to say that I consider the fourth possible explanation as summarized above to be the least likely one. Why?

There are many very good journalists in the BBC and they know as well as I do that the single most revealing and therefore newsworthy statement in the original Davies report was that of the Jewish gentleman who said, “Go to Israel…? I’m not crazy!”

  1. See, not all Jews are insane, Zionist monsters.

  2. If you had an Army unit with a hundred guys and one guy in all of those was a constant source of conflict and attention-getting, you would know what to do. But for some odd reason we have one little country in the world that fits that description and we can’t do anything about it?

  4. More Jews live outside than in. The creation of Israel is nothing but a sham and a grave injustice on the native people of Palestine.

  5. Look at this man, Jacob, he is working and he enjoys it. All over the world it’s just the same, every jewish person, who lives together with the people in it’s country, is welcomed and there is no problem at all.

The problem allways begins, when separation instead of integration is teached or preached.

Here in Germany we had a jewish uprising in the times of industrial development (1880-1914). We had many jewish physicians, lawers, scienticts at that time, and of course also bankers, jeweliers and so on.

When the provoked outrages (called pogroms) in Russia began, many very orthodox jewish people come to here. This cuased great trouble inside the jewish communities at that time, because the established people were afraid of the very fundamental (and sometimes heavily kabbalistic) jewish brothers/sisters from Russia.

After the breakdown of the socialistic countries up till now, we saw/see the same thing here again. Allthough not openly, but inside their jewish communities the newcomers cause great trouble, because they are quite different to the settled jews from Germany.

I teached at german gymnasiums in Hamburg in 2002 and there were about 60% jewish russian immigrants in my class at that time. I talked to them very often about their problems in this new country and my first question allways was: “Did you come here with your own free will?”. Mostly they answered: “No, our elders wanted to leave our home country (Russia, Ukaine, Kasachstan, ..), we weren’t asked.” The next question was: “Would you yourself have wanted to stay in Russia?” and most of the young folks answered without the shadow of a doubt: “Yes, we would not have left our country!”. That’s the way, Jacob from Tunesia thinks and we all know, he is right.

Israel as a homeland of all jews is a myth, like the never ending myth of the jewish history. Talk to normal jewish people and you get quite another picture, myth and reality don’t fit together (Shlomo Sand knew what he was talking about), they are complete contradictory to each other. So, whom do you believe, Joshua? Ask your mother or your father? Perhaps it’s better, to think for yourself and make your own decision. Mankind can only survive in peace, if we learn to understand that all ideology only serves one purpose – to divide us from each other and to forment hatred and anciety against each other. One of the worst and deadly ideology is Zionism, therefore fever and fever jews from any countries around the world have any desire to go to this land. Add to this the demographic facts (Israelis versus Palestinesians), and you have a ticking time bomb – especially under the current racist regime.

I hope, time’s not runnig out to be able to change these rather apocalyptic maniacs.

  6. Mr. Hart,

jou can’t simply suppress a message and when I try it again 2 hours later say, that I allready said this before. Please, let me simply post my simple words.

    • It may be a fault. I doubt it has anything to do with him personally.

    • Det, Your above piece got posted twice so I deleted the second one. Sometime their can be a delay in comments getting up. Most of those looking for them, they usually are looking for an instant posting.

Remember we are run by volunteers here and run 24/7….so not everything is instant, but is works pretty good. If you have not been a problem poster or a spammer, and don’t see something, assume a technical snag. Thanks to all. Jim Dean

  7. And you have to be a researcher to know this Pete. I only do because I did some video with the Neturie Karta Ortohdox Jews in 2002. Boy, did they ramp up my education on the skeletons in the closet!! Fortunately I still have the footage.

    • I have heard the numbers are 25,000

Article on ICH in 2010: 25,000 Jews live in Iran By Mike Whitney

    • No “others” are involved here. You have had a go at us (“others”) tending to agree with each other. There is NOBODY you have not criticized on here and I take offense to being called gay – on more than one occasion. Petty annoying troll with a screw loose.

    • I left out attention seeking – another of your “attributes”.

    • Well we have active commenters…but this is not flaming. We know flaming…having seen lots of it in the old days when these comment boards were run like an happy hour two for one bar for combat vets.

Flaming now is no nasty names, and no comments about mothers and troopships, calling people murderers, or ‘deserve to die’…or threats put their names on bathroom walls. It was nice to say goodbye to all that. And then add in 20,000 spams a day, it ate up a lot of time which hurt our our writing and developing new staff and radio.

Even the flamers had some interesting things to say, but it drove away too many new people, and without new folks coming in, we ain’t growing. And if we don’t grow, we are going to lose for sure. We don’t mind the long odds, but knowing you are going to lose for sure, then it’s time to make some changes.

Our comment volume is down from a year ago…but the quality is better…which makes it more worth people’s time to read comments. We respect people’s time and want them to get good bang for the minuter here :-)

      • Always accuse others of what you are doing. Definitely have a split personality. When someone addresses me I am allowed to reply, its not “getting the last word in”. I spoke for all you were playing the innocent victim to when you “addressed Mr Dean”. Its obvious reading between the lines too who you were accusing of.

      • You are nothing more than a Trolling stink Bomb.

      • anti-intellectual stink bomb troll – designed to cause maximum discomfort but have little if any real power.

    • rico, I don’t think that was necessarily flaming. the point that the Iranian Jews did not want to leave Iran based on bribes is true.

  8. I for one am extremely saddened by the infiltration and ruination of the BBC by the usual parties. The BBC – as Alan Hart rightly points out – was once a news organisation associated with truthful news reporting. This is no longer the case at all. At one time it routinely defied political or vested interest group pressure – but this was before Anthony Blair utterly neutered it. Today every drama, soap or programme has to be ‘spun’ by a special panel of new world order super-subversives, to incorporate ‘political correctness’. Political correctness should by rights be called its proper name: ‘Cultural marxism’ – which by definition in turn ultimately promotes world zionism. This black cloud of mind control now pervades every nook and cranny of our lives.

Indeed – I can recall the argument in the 1982 Falklands War when the BBC insisted on talking about ‘British Forces’ instead of ‘Our Forces’. The BBC wished to remain completely neutral and honest reporters of the campaign!! The British government, understandably perhaps, did not like it but THAT was always the BBC’s attitude.

Nowadays there is only one ‘friendly force’ around the world media stations to be supported above every other – and that, of course, is israel. The cuckoo-nest country that carries out acts of terrorism worldwide – and which is even born of terrorism itself – that can apparently do no wrong.
