What Jews Don’t Like about Zionists

Likud Right Wing Idol, Ze’ev Jabotinksy and Family – ‘Zionism Out of a Barrel of a Gun’

A Peek Inside the Belly of the Beast – by Someone Who Has ‘Been There…Done That’,  Uri Avnery

“ Out of this educated proletariat I will create the general staff and the cadres of the army which is to seek, discover, and take over the land.” … The Diaries of Theodor Herzl…p 23

…by Jim W. Dean, VT Editor             ….featuring  Uri Avnery

Theodor Herzl – Nationalist Zionism

The history of Zionism is hidden in thick fog of selective historical editing and more than a bit of  air brushing.

I started with the Herzl Diaries, which are a great beginning. I used the above quote as a tease that you have never seen anything like it before.

His diaries are just full of such interesting missives, and the Herzl legacy lives on in the current Likudomaniacs running Israel now.

My next reading stop was the early Zionist writers, what I refer to a the ‘Cultural Zionists’, and I will define them specifically.

They were Jews who had moved to Palestine simply to live in the Holy Land with absolutely no thoughts of taking it over and creating lebensraum (the Nazi term ‘growing space’) for the world’s Jews by cleansing it of Arabs.

Zeev Jabostinski, the Irgun, Stern Gang, and Ben Gurion, along with a succession of experienced Zionist terrorists who went on to top military and political office finished up the practical end of of Herzl’s beginning. MBA’s call this efficient execution.

One of the best books I can recommend on this is Selected Essays of Ahad Ha-‘Am (Asher Ginsburg). The pseudonym means ‘one of the people’. These first appeared in 1904 in three volumes, under the title ‘Al Parashat Derakim (At the Parting of the Ways).

You can only find an abridged version of this now like I have, still rare. It’s a treasure if you can snag one.  The history of the ‘shoot ’em up Zionism of Herzl and Jabotinsky is easily found.

Ahad Ha’am – Asher Ginsberg

Ginsberg was no angel in that he advocated a slower process where the Disaspora itself would have to be invigorated to support a Jewish State.

But the post WWII Zionist leaders tapped into their communist roots for the support that they needed, and got it.

When looking at a new area of potential writing, doing TV shows or  documentaries I always try to start with the earliest sources when possible before the industrial spinmeister age came upon us all.

I don’t want to sound corny but I find writers wrote with more integrity back then, like they had some actual embarrassment at being discovered as shilling for someone, even after they died.

The bookend to my early Zionism research was the Neturie Karta Ultra Orthodox Jews who gave me, pardon the expression, ‘the full Monty’.

Fortunately I have the best of this on two hours of Heritage TV studio productions. I will be putting up highlights of these interviews on VT when the tooth fairy brings me the time to do it.

Rabbi David Weiss

Rabbi David Weiss left the whole studio in a state of shock by the time we finished, not believing what they had just heard, and seen with all the historical photos he had brought.

He told us that Israeli Intel bombed synagogues and fomented anti-semetism campaigns in North Africa to ‘encourage Jews there to emmigrate to Israel. The campaign worked like a dream.

The whole studio was spellbound, thinking they were in a dream.

We brought Rabbi Weiss down for the AIPAC convention in Atlanta that year. We did the shoot and had a wonderful day head tripping the Rad Zios with a USS Liberty ‘Salute’ right on Peachtree Street. It was just wonderful.

When the traffic lights were red, people started getting out of the cars to salute my big USS Liberty display. Many even made their kids get out and salute.  The AIPAC folks all looked like they gotten a call that the Christian Zios, who now wanted them all out of Israel in 48 hours so it could be resettled.

Fortunately for you readers we have the very productive Uri Avnery to tide us over with his always intimate insights into all things Israeli, hence the ‘been there-done that’ subtitle.

So without further adieu, on to the main event, our octogenarian Israel expert Uri Avnery, who we all wish we could some day write was good as he does. This is a good one folks.  Jim Dean

Talking Zionism        …by Uri Avnery   28/07/12

Uri Avnery – Sill fighting in his mid-80’s

“HE TALKS Zionism,” used to be a very derogatory comment when I was young. It meant that some elderly functionary had come to waste our time with a boring speech consisting largely of empty phrases.

That was before the foundation of the State of Israel. Since then, the term Zionism has been elevated to the status of a state ideology, if not state religion.

Everything the state does is justified by the use of this word. Some would say that Zionism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

When I visited Prague for the first time, right after the fall of the Communist regime, I was shown a hotel of incredible luxury – chandeliers from France, marble from Italy, rugs from Persia, the lot.

I had never seen anything like it before. I was told that the place – or palace – had been reserved for the communist elite.

It’s then and there that I understood the essence of a state ideology. Communist regimes were founded by idealists, imbued with humanist values.

They ended as mafia states, in which a corrupt clique of cynics used the communist ideology as justification for privilege, oppression and exploitation.

I don’t like state ideologies. States should not foster ideologies.

THE ONLY people who have an official confirmation that they are sane are those who have been released from psychiatric hospitals. In a similar way, I may be the only person in Israel who has an official confirmation that he is not an anti-Zionist.

Uri was There

It happened this way: when my friends and I founded the Israeli Council for Israeli-Palestinian Peace in 1975, a right-wing organ called us “anti-Zionists”. I didn’t give a damn, but my co-founders insisted on suing them for libel.

Since I had published a book entitled “Israel Without Zionists” a few years earlier, I was called by the defendants as their star witness. They grilled me for many hours on the witness stand on what I meant by this title.

In the end the judge asked me to define my attitude towards Zionism in simple words. On the spur of the moment I coined a new term: “Post-Zionism”.

Since then, the term has been expropriated as a synonym for anti-Zionism. But I used it quite literally.

As I explained to the judge, my position is that Zionism was a historical movement with its glorious achievements as well as its darker side.

One can admire or condemn it, but either way Zionism has come to its logical end with the creation of the State of Israel. Zionism was the scaffolding that made the building of the state possible, but once the house is built, the scaffolding becomes a hindrance and must be removed.

So the judge decided that I am not an anti-Zionist. She ordered the defendants to pay us hefty compensation, which helped us to finance our activities.

I still adhere to that definition.

NOWADAYS, When the term Zionism is used in Israel, it can mean many different things.

For ordinary Jewish Israelis, it means not much more than Israeli patriotism, combined with the dogma that Israel is a “Jewish State”, or the “State of the Jewish People”. These definitions, by themselves, allow for many different interpretations.

For the legendary “man or woman in the street” it means that the Jews around the world are a “people”, and that Israel “belongs” to this people, though Jews have no rights in Israel unless they come here and receive citizenship.

Of course, the Jews around the world have never been asked to decide whether Israel is their state or not.

From this point on, the definitions go in many different directions.

At the beginning, the dominant Zionist color was red (or at least pink).

The Zionist dream was coupled with socialism (not necessarily of the Marxist kind), a movement that built the pre-state Jewish society in Palestine, the all-powerful trade union organization, the kibbutz and much more.

For religious Zionists (unlike the anti-Zionist Orthodox), Zionism was the forerunner of the Messiah, who would surely come if only all of us observed the shabbat. Religious Zionists want Israel to become a state governed by the Halakha, much as Islamists want their states to be governed by the Sharia.

Right-wing Zionists want Zionism to mean a Jewish state in all of historical Palestine, in their parlance “the Whole of Eretz Israel”, with as few non-Jewish inhabitants as possible. This can easily be coupled with religious, and even messianic visions. God Wills It, as He has told them in confidence.

Ze’ev Jabotinski – WWI British Uniform

Theodor Herzl, the founder, wanted a liberal, secular state. Martin Buber, the outstanding humanist, called himself a Zionist. So did Albert Einstein.

Vladimir Jabotinsky, the idol of right-wing Zionists, believed in a mixture of extreme nationalism, liberalism, capitalism and humanism. Rabbi Meir Kahane, an outright Fascist, was a Zionist. So, of course, are the settlers.

Many fanatical anti-Zionists around the world, including Jewish ones, would like to see Zionism as one monolith, so as to make it easier to hate.

So, for the sake of love, do many lovers of Zion, most of whom would not dream of coming and living here.

Altogether, a rather bizarre picture.

TODAY, ZIONISM is firmly in the hands of the extreme Right, a mixture of nationalists, religious fanatics and the settlers, supported by very rich Jews in Israel and outside.

They govern the news, both directly (they own all the TV networks and the newspapers) and metaphorically. Every day, the news contains many items figuring “Zionism”.

For Zionism’s sake, Bedouin in Israel-proper are forcibly displaced from the large stretches of land they have occupied for centuries.

For Zionism’s sake, a settler’s college deep in the occupied territories is accorded the status of “university” (by the military governor!), giving new impetus to the international academic boycott on Israel.

Hundreds of new buildings in the settlements are being built on private Palestinian land in the name of Zionism. In Ramallah, the capital of the Palestinian authority, Israeli troops hunt for Africans without an Israeli immigration permit.

Indeed, our Interior Minister, whose only passion seems to be hunting African job-seekers, uses the word Zionism in almost every sentence.

Auschwitz – The phony tourist trap gas chambers with the post WWII chimney added (five feet from the building) for photo ops from the other side

In the name of Zionism, our fanatically right-wing Minister of Education is sending Israeli school children on indoctrination trips to “holy places” in the occupied territory, so as to instill in their consciousness from early on that all the country belongs to them.

To strengthen their Zionist convictions they are also sent to Auschwitz.

The settlers claim – not without some justification – that they are the only real Zionists, the rightful heirs of 130 years of Zionist settlement and expansion.

This gives them the right to receive huge piles of state funds for their activities, while new taxes are being levied on even the poorest of the poor in Israel, such as another one-percent raise of VAT.

The Jewish Agency, an offshoot of the World Zionist Organization, is devoting almost all its resources to the settlements.

There is no faction in the Knesset (except the two small Arab factions and the predominantly Arab communist faction, and of course the Orthodox) that does not loudly proclaim its total devotion to Zionism. Indeed, the Zionist Left claims to be truer Zionists than the Right.

WHERE IS all this leading? Ah, there is the rub. The current staunchly Zionist policy of the State of Israel contains an inherent paradox. It leads to self-destruction.

The policy of our government is based on maintaining the status quo. All of historical Eretz Israel/Palestine under Israeli rule, the West Bank in a state of occupation, its Palestinian inhabitants without national or civil rights.

Uri – 1948 War veteran

If, at some point in the future, a right-wing government decides to annex the West Bank and the Gaza Strip “officially” (as Jerusalem and the Syrian Golan Heights were annexed long ago – unrecognized by the rest of the world – it will not make any real difference.

Most Palestinians are already confined to enclaves resembling the South African Bantustans of bygone days.

In this Greater Israel, Palestinian Arabs will constitute a minority of at least 40%, growing rapidly to 50% and more, making it less and less convincing to call it a “Jewish State”.

The “Jewish and Democratic State” will be a thing of the past.

Of course, practically nobody in Israel would dream of according the Arab inhabitants of Greater Israel citizenship and democratic rights.

If, perhaps by divine intervention, this were to come about, it would no longer be a “Jewish State”. It would be an “Arab Palestinian state”.

The only way out would be ethnic cleansing on a huge scale. Some of this is already happening discretely in remote areas.

Uri – Second Assassination Attempt

For some time now, in the most remote area of the West Bank, on the edge of the desert south of Hebron, the occupation authorities have been trying to remove the entire Arab population.

This week, the Minister of Defense, Ehud Barak, declared the area a “military firing zone” that must be immediately evacuated. People who remain there risk being shot.

Agriculturists may return and work on their land, but only on Shabbat and Jewish holidays, when the army is on leave. Zionism in action.

Currently, some five million Palestinians and six million Jews live between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. The ethnic cleansing of the country is highly improbable, to say the least.

Far more likely is the reality of an apartheid state, in which Jews will soon be a minority. That is not a reality envisioned by the Zionist founding fathers.

The only alternative is peace – Palestine and Israel, side by side. But that is called “post-Zionism”, God forbid.

Our leaders escape this reality by a simple device: they don’t think about it. They don’t talk about it. They prefer to “talk Zionism” – a string of empty phrases. But sometime in the future the contradictions of Zionism will have to be faced.

One sector of the population that is in dire need of education in this information are those legions of Christian/Zionists. As despicable as they are in their present condition, that condition can be altered, at least for many.

The strong + in favor of a turnover with these; is, that they fawn like swooning girls over all things Jewish. From Rabbi Weis’ site it doesn’t look as if he is speaking to them (in particularly) at present. His
speaking engagements appear to be aimed at more rationale and mature audiences.

He’s showing some insight there, as talking to the unreasonable and emotionally charged who believe
they are “Obeying God” by supporting Ziondom could easily become incendiary. He’s got enough heat already from ‘The Family’ no doubt.

Any way, here is Weis’ You Tube channel. Any of these can be copied and pasted/ imbedded into any comments etc. at any of the Christo/Zio sites. Enamored with ‘all things Jewish’ the viewers will certainly watch them, and some will wake up and strke camp from the likes of Christians United For Israel. http://www.youtube.com/user/2628342/videos?view=0

SC, Just talked to Rabbi Weiss after checking out his YouTube channel now with over a half million views. Thanks for your tip as I had not gone looking for any of his new stuff.

He and his people are still protesting the hijacked Jewish state by the gang of communist and atheist Pretenda-Jews. He sends his regards to everyone here and wants us to know they will fight the Rad Zios to their last day.

      Your Welcome Jim.

The influence of the Christian / Zionist doctrine is overshadowing every communion in ‘Christianity’. Their numbers are so vast; that, they affect the body politic of the U.S.

These are Romney’s constituency in that sphere; who, never seem to ask, where are those so called blessings our Country was promised for it’s support of the ‘chosen’. It couldn’t be more obvious that the U.S. has suffered the opposite of being blessed by it’s support of the Zionist entity.

I watched Rabbi Weiss’ talk from George Mason University last night. He speaks from the support of what the Torrah says concerning the cause and end of the Diaspora. The Christo/Zios (who for the most part are also Biblically illiterate, and spoon fed bovine feces from the likes of Robertson, Haggi, et al) really need to hear these things.

I got to this video, from here – http://nkusa.org/

You give me way too much credit Jim but thanks all the same.

Precisely. God must have been a self hating God I guess.

  3. ricohands  August 1, 2012 at 11:27 am

Thanks Jim. Zionists hijacked Judaism and politicized it.

      Once again:

Just like an anti-Semite to revise history, create facts and deny the truth.

The 4th hardest concept for anti-Semites to understand: You cannot separate Jews from Israel. The vast vast vast majority of Jews world wide but especially in Israel and the US support Israel and her leaders.

Slavic’s in search of a semitic past much like the ruins they have tried to find — and they’ve dug over that whole of Palestine three times trying to find them.

  4. Detlef Reimers  August 1, 2012 at 10:01 am

This video is especially dedicated Uri and his long time peace work inside Israel, where he not seldom risked his life, but never gave up working for peace between the Palestinians and the Jews.

This video is about Miko Peled, born in Israeli as the son of a former famous israeli general, talking about his book “The General’s Son”, which demystifies and also cleans the official israeli history from many myths and lies. He was forced to leave his country and is now an US citizen, he’s an active peace activist.

  5. Detlef Reimers  August 1, 2012 at 7:49 am

    Jim and Uri,

Thank you both for your articles here. I want to add some fakts about the european situation. Rabbi Joseph Antebi from Amsterdam/Holland was kidnapped and tortured brutally by the Zionist in his country, so he’s now physical broken and has to move with an electrical car, but he’s in no way mentally and spiritually broken. Here is an interview of him, talking about his personal frightening experiences with the zionist criminals:

This one shows him in action afterwards:

On the Jerusalem-Qds memoriam day in 2009 a long interview was made in Berlin together with several Rabbis. Here, what they say about Zionism (this is the first of 9 parts):

(Sorry, these are in german, but may some of you understand it).

Great piece, Jim. While I don’t have the breadth of vocabulary on the early zionists that you do, I can recommend a book called something like “Ben Gurion, the Burning Ground” by a Jewish author whose name I can’t remember…… Sorry, the book’s in storage and I can’t check right now……

But anyway, the shenanigans, propaganda, blatant racist ideology, terrorism and all the rest become obvious and undeniable, merely from the FACTS, no interpretation needed.

That’s the thing that makes this battle so frustrating. There is ZERO reason for the state of Israel to exist, it makes the Third Reich look like a spring fete at the fairgrounds. Yet most Americans know NOTHING about the brazen injustice, lies, terrorism and sick ideology behind it.

Anyway, thanks for a great piece and all your work in the fight for justice.

    • Jim W. Dean  July 31, 2012 at 10:54 am

The wooden stake that can be driven through the vampire’s heart is their own material…diaries and autobiographies, declassified Intel (ours)…declassified docs (theirs)…and the classified stuff.

Most of the classified stuff in just hiding how in the bag some many ‘esteemed people’ have been here, which even the Intel community coming behind them as chosen to hide simply because it would destroy public faith in government, which they consider a national security concern which justifies continued classification.

What they are being challenged on now that is that keeping these systemic problems off the radar so they never get fixed, is one of the main engines that his driving public loss of faith in government, and that they themselves are contributing to that. So they are being challenged now that they are going to have to decide whether to keeping covering for the bad guys.

At the end of the day, the only solution will be an Intel dump that will make wikileaks look like a Brownie and Cub Scout event. The refusal to prosecute wrong doers is making that the only option available. And the good guys are too smart to dribble material out a bit at a time and get picked off one by one.

Everybody will go at once. I think we will see it in our lifetimes…us ’60’s folks…as people know it is already late in the game for turning things around…and the odds will only get slimmer. It really is, literally, like watching a slow motion train wreck…a sad thing indeed.

A thought provoking article; which, gives us some insight into the ‘why’ of Zionist Israel’s present behavior.

From this, I would conclude that all measures (though unmeasured) are being spastically initiated to the purpose of evading the inevitable ‘post Zionist’ Palestine.

  9. Charlotte NC Bill  July 31, 2012 at 6:22 am

Real Jews like Rabbi Weiss don’t like Israel..don’t like being manipulated by Jewish terrorists who bomb Synagogues just to cattle drive their fellow Khazar non-semite Jews to Palestine..They also don’t like Zionists bc they make it more than obvious that they couldn’t care less about the countries in which they reside…( just witness the 9-11 false flag done by Mossad and it’s allies, agents and assets in this country )..they only view their host countries as tools that are good if they serve Talmudia and they’re designated as enemies if they don’t-in which case the Zionists become an enemy state within a state..

    • Worker Bee  July 31, 2012 at 7:02 pm

The US should revoke the citizenship of anyone who obtains an Israeli passport *after* being a US citizen and/or serves in the IDF. Or at the very least, revoke all security clearances of dual-citizens, and bar them from serving in the federal government in any way, including lobbyists and official advisers.

“The vast vast vast majority of Jews world wide but especially in Israel and the US support Israel and her leaders.” yeah, that makes about a measly 10 million outnumbered even by Palestinians whose land these fake Hebrews have stolen. Not a very convincing case, my dear.

Jason, what do you think the definition of hasbara is? “revise history, create facts and deny the truth” — you are an anti-Semite by your own definition.

    • draximus  July 31, 2012 at 10:43 am

Semite, Person speaking one of a group of related languages, presumably derived from a common language, Semitic (see Semitic languages). The term came to include Arabs, Akkadians, Canaanites, some Ethiopians, and Aramaean tribes including Hebrews. Semitic tribes migrated from the Arabian Peninsula, beginning c. 2500 bc, to the Mediterranean coast, Mesopotamia, and the Nile River delta. In Phoenicia, they became seafarers. In Mesopotamia, they blended with the civilization of Sumer. The Hebrews settled at last with other Semites in Palestine.

So Jason, if I have anything bad to say about Arabs, Akkadians, Canaanites, some Ethiopians, and Aramaeans, does that also make me an ‘anti-semite’ in your eyes? I await your answer with interest…

  11. Excalibur  July 31, 2012 at 4:49 am

A great article – and it is important for us all to support those decent and honest jewish people who tell it like it really is. They are in fact the people who will redeem the jews – and who will try to lead them OUT of the zionist supremacist mindset. This mindset is a highly dangerous psychosis of real race destruction, real global terror and a planned global police state tyranny – run by jews.

It makes the Nazis look like boy scouts by comparison and was road tested and failed in Russia, China, Cambodia – and in countries across the planet. Some people will, perhaps understandably, not want to forgive this unimaginable horror visited on them and their forefathers.

Jews have escaped this present moment of accountability for millennia for one simple reason – that they were dispersed around the globe with no state of their own. Even that dispersal itself was part of the arrogant attack plan framed for world domination all those years ago – and the thrust of this idea has remained whispered in secret as an ideal to work for over jewish dinner tables until now.

Now they must forgo this global attack plan – or face the wrath of the entire world. The premature birth of israel has exposed it and alerted the lowly gentiles to the evil and ferocity of its hatred and contempt for all mankind.

The planetary attack plan – disguised as a religion – has to go.

“The only alternative is peace – Palestine and Israel, side by side.’

Or a single, democratic, Palestinian majority state (after letting the refugees return). If the Khazarians do not like it, they can move back to Europe, Russia, wherever…, while the Arab Jews will likely find things more to their liking, as they will no longer be put upon by the Ashkenazi.

I just saw this rabbi speaking in a short segment of a long video today! I was floored! He is exactly right IMO! People need to wake up!

There was a total media black out on these Neturie Karta people for years. There are about 300,000 of them altogether. Media here followed orders until they started to get on the internet. Fox brought them on to be bullied by Hannity and then Beck.

They did the usual, talked over them when they were making a good point, and then stealing the last minute of the show to smear them…really a rude thing to do for a guest you have invited on. No ‘I’ll give you the last word’ with these guys.
