(San Francisco) – Yea,… it’s true. China stopped going to the US Treasury Bond Sales auction. As a result, the US changed their tune in a hurry in the South China Sea. Looks like there is a new Sheriff in Town and the US was thrown under the bus by China. As far as we know publicly, the Chinese did not even say a word.

Screwed

The US and their junior partner Japan were involved in a dispute with China over a few uninhabited islands in the South China Sea. It has gone on more than a hundred years. Finally, China had had enough.

The Chinese action and its immediate effect are not lost on the Japanese leadership and the rest of the world.

So, now the US and Japan are aimlessly playing with their war toys in the South China Sea, impressing no one but the eternally weak minded that are always with us.

Let’s Bottom Line this world changing event. China said “Jump” the US said “How high?”

US Foreign Policy is no more; it is  pointlessly absurd, ignored and cannot be enforced.

[End]

This is the latest Treasury list of “MAJOR FOREIGN HOLDERS OF TREASURY SECURITIES”
    http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Documents/mfh.txt

China is still the #1 holder of Tsy Secs. What difference does it make whether it buys securities or not? If it doesn’t want to save in US dollars, that’s its choice. [US payments for goods from China go into China’s checking account at the NY Fed. When China buys treasury securities, the Fed debits its checking account and credits China’s saving account (securities account). Like you buying a bank CD.]

We don’t need China’s money. We ISSUE THE CURRENCY that China wants. We don’t need to borrow from anyone, we can denominate our debt in our own currency, and we certainly don’t need to borrow our own currency from China. We created it in the first place. That’s like a monopoly organic wheat farmer going to Whole Foods to borrow wheat. The US federal government is the only entity on planet earth that can legally create dollars. We are 100% sovereign, unlike poor Greece or Spain; they gave up their sovereign currencies to borrow euros from the ECB or bond vigilantes.

Maybe China didn’t roll over its tsy secs and used some of its redeemed cash in its NY Fed checking account to buy US planes or equipment. In which case, the money is still here in someone’s bank account. Or maybe they exchanged their dollars on the open market for Yuan because they needed it back home.

Or maybe they waited to see who would be Prez.

You opinion, PallMall, not anybody here.

Let me explain it to you real simple. That would be the part you left out – hard to do, dude, in a 181 word piece.

A country that takes its direction from another country is not a sovereign country. The one giving the direction is the sovereign. No maybe’s.

Just do what the Poms did when they were on the ropes in 1942.

Give ‘em Australia, it’s about time we had a new landlord.

All you guys ever did for us was build secret military installations, give our women the pox and sell us dodgy hamburgers from some bloke in a clown suit.

Well, the US has basically 2 choices: Learn how to pay down the debt and get out of hock, or learn how to speak Chinese. Money = sovereignty. Crunch time is coming soon.

    This is astonishing!

Yup. Pretty much. It’s the arrival of the end of the US empire. This isn’t going to be pretty.

Fixing this takes more than pretending it did not happen, Mark or Mort or whatever your name is. In Japan your attitude is called “Extend and Pretend.”

It is disgusting, both for Japan and the US.
