Susan Rice’s Imperial Credentials

by Stephen Lendman

She’s favored to replace Hillary Clinton next year as secretary of state. Obama calls her “extraordinary.” She matches the current incumbent’s bullying, bluster and arrogance.

Both deplore peace, nonviolence, and social justice. They’re pro-war, contemptuous of rule of law principles, and brazenly anti-democratic.

They represent wrong over right. They’re war criminals multiple times over. They’re indifferent to human suffering. They disgrace America and humanity.

A December 1 Alaska Dispatch headline asked, “What’s so wrong with Susan Rice’s bid for Secretary of State?” Christian Science Monitor contributor Brad Knickerbocker’s article followed, saying:

If Obama nominates her as many expect, she’ll already “have undergone a blistering public vetting.” Perhaps so, but for lots of the wrong reasons.

On November 30, Washington Post contributor Chris Cillizza asked, “Who had the worst week in Washington?” Susan Rice topped the list. Again for the wrong reasons.

Her abrasiveness doesn’t help. She gives diplomacy a bad name. She’s an embarrassment to legitimate governance. She’s one of America’s worst ever envoys.

She’s also one of Obama’s richest cabinet members. He father owned a British Columbia lumber company. He husband is a former television producer. In 2009, they’re net worth was estimated at between $23.5 and $43.5 million.

Wealth, of course, disqualifies no one from public office. A previous article said she has major unexplained conflicts of interest.

She and her husband own “at least $1.25 million worth of stock in four of Canada’s eight leading oil producers.” She has up to $600,000 equity in TransCanada Corp. It’s building the environmentally destructive Keystone XL pipeline.

Her holdings also include up to $11.25 million in Royal Bank of Canada, as well as lesser equity in other Canadian financial institutions funding XL.

She has lots of explaining to do. And not just about questionable financial interests. More on that below.

From October 1997 to January 2001, she was Bill Clinton’s Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs. She supported Washington’s imperial Afghan war. In February 2003, weeks before Iraq was attacked, she was asked about Colin Powell’s infamous UN WMD speech.

When it was too late to matter, he called it the “lowest point in (his) life.” At the time, Rice disagreed. She thought he “proved that Iraq (had) these weapons and (was) hiding them, and (she didn’t) think many informed people doubted that.”

After America destroyed Iraq, she urged long-term occupation. She wants no quick Afghan pullout. She endorsed imperial war on Libya. She falsified claims about Gaddafi forces committing mass rapes. She ignored killer gang atrocities.

She’s silent about them now in Syria. She blames Assad for Western imperial crimes. She asked for UN authorization to wage war.

She favors partnering with Israel against Iran. She wants one regional country after another ravaged and destroyed. She wants “no daylight” between US and Israeli policy.

She endorses permanent imperial direct and proxy wars. She has blood on her hands to answer for. As UN envoy, she supports Washington’s war on humanity. As secretary of state, she’ll have more authority to wage it.

She’s for everything honorable people condemn. She’s criminally unqualified for any public position.

Washington Post contributor David Ignatius has close US intelligence ties. He openly favors America arming Western-recruited Free Syrian Army (FSA) death squads.

He spent time with their leaders. They’re “solid,” he said. They’re experienced killers. They commit other atrocities. They express no regrets. Neither does Ignatius.

On November 30, he rated Rice’s nomination “a close call.” He called Republican criticism “fabricated.” At the same time, he said she may not be Obama’s best choice.

It’s “a close call on the merits.” It’s hard imagining what he has in mind. War criminals belong in prison, not government. Perhaps Ignatius and likeminded imperial supporters forgot.

All he finds fault with Rice is that “some people don’t like her. They find her abrasive, self-promoting (and) mercurial.” He admits that State Department officials prefer John Kerry. He looks headed for Defense when Panetta steps down next year.

It’s Obama’s call. In 2008, he chose a rogue’s gallery of cabinet and other top officials. Four deplorable years followed. Expect what’s ahead to be worse domestically and abroad.

America already is a hair’s breadth from full-blown tyranny. It’s waging war on humanity at home and abroad. Rice and others like her favor continuing what should be condemned and stopped.

New York Times contributor Andrew Rosenthal thinks Republicans took her “out of the running for secretary of state.” Others disagree. Critics hope so but still think she’s top choice.

Washington Post contributor Dana Milbank headlined “Susan Rice’s tarnished resume,” saying:

She’s “ill-equipped to be the nation’s top diplomat.” It’s for reasons unrelated to Libya. She “managed to make an impressive array of enemies – on Capitol Hill, in Foggy Bottom and abroad.”

Compared to John Kerry, she’s “a most undiplomatic diplomat.” Milbank doubts enough votes exist to confirm her. “Colleagues talk of shouting matches and insults.”

She’s an equal opportunity offender. She doesn’t care who she insults. Perhaps her chickens are coming home to roost.

Moscow complained that with her at State, relations with Washington would be “more difficult.” They’re strained enough now.

Compared to many reasons why Rice is a deplorable choice, “the flap over Libya is relatively minor.” She’s accused of misleading the public on events preceding ambassador Stevens’ death and three other Americans in Benghazi.

Others say she goes out of her way to make enemies. Diplomats are supposed to show statesmanship, tact, discretion, prudence and thoughtfulness.

Rice fails on all counts and more. Her position on major issues is hugely destructive. Her language is over the top.

Calling Russian and Chinese Syrian resolution vetoes “disgusting” and “shameful” is no way to make friends. Rice excels at making enemies.

Some ask what’s wrong with her? A better question is what’s right? Her Stanford and Oxford degrees don’t help. Her public service record matters most.

It reflects complicity in major crimes. In 1993, she served on Clinton’s National Security Council. As explained above, she was his Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs from October 1997 to January 2001.

She was involved in proxy genocidal wars on Congo. Washington unleashed Ugandan and Rwandan forces. Eastern Congo was ravaged. It’s happening again. At stake are vast mineral resources. They’re largely untapped.

They include oil, gold, diamonds, copper, uranium, cobalt, and tantalum. It’s a rare earth essential for manufacturing high-tech electronics. Nuclear power producers also need it.

Rice has close ties to Rwanda’s US puppet leader Paul Kagame. Washington trained him at Fort Leavenworth, KS. She’s also connected to Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni. He recruits child soldiers. He trains them to kill.

African expert Keith Harmon Snow believes the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) is “a tool of the Museveni government used to manipulate public opinion, create chaos across the region, gain international sympathy from foreign donors, (and serve as a) perfect ruse to facilitate permanent foreign military intervention.”

In 2001, the State Department named it a terrorist organization. Since 2008, it’s been called a Specially Designated Global Terrorist group. Washington uses Al Qaeda and various other groups as allies and enemies.

Rice perhaps is perfect to front for no-holds-barred imperial ravaging. She’s uberhawkish, thuggish, and contemptuous of fundamental human rights.

Obama favors her for the wrong reasons. It remains to be seen if she’ll become America’s top diplomat. With her at Foggy Bottom, “humanitarian” wars may destroy humanity on her watch.

Strange choice for Obama, one wonders what she has in common with Geithner choice by Obama

Ban Ki-moon is a pathetic babbling clown.

ha, that’s true at least :) He was right, though, when he said Israel’s settlement moves are a “FATAL BLOW” to the peace process. TRUE, kind of.

“Peace process” is really a euphemism for continued ethnic cleansing and genocide of Palestinians in the name of Zionism.

Jabotinksy plan. Oy vey. (Everyone Google this!)

We had previously provided documentation that the UN as the successor to “the League of Nations” is nothing but the terrorist set up of the Rothschilds in order to create their global private terrorist mercenary force a/k/a Israel.

A terrorist set up such as UN has no legitimacy to begin with & must be destroyed from within peacefully by the withdrawals of all its members and its peaceful dissolution (like closing a company).

Another alternative would be to use the 9/11 option which Dimitri Khalezov has informed us about which is the use of a nuclear bomb (or reactor) installed under the basement levels of the UN for its planned demolition the time for which is long overdue!!!!. So: “PULL IT” Rockefellers.

No need to discredit the UN. The UN General Assembly is taking honest action today. Just the UN Security Council and an inability for members to politicize any UN institutions.

That is how Israel advanced its false ploy against Iran. Not through the ICC, where it should have taken ANY evidence of an Iranian threat immediately, but through the politicized UN to create EXTRA-legal safeguards (in ADDITION to the NPT) against Iran’s perfectly legal nuclear program. Also through its media apparatus.

It’s necessary for nations to collaborate together with regards to world affairs. How that collaboration occurs is key.

    • The Rahnameh  December 4, 2012 at 10:13 am

PS – Israel doesn’t have even an iota of proof to indicate Iran has even the INTENT to build a nuclear weapon. That’s why they’ve been impotent and that is why the UN Security Council must be abolished. It’s no longer even in American strategic interests as China and Russia can form a bloc to outmaneuver us, especially given their leverage over Europe (China is propping the EU’s economy while Russia is fueling them).

UN is a terrorist mercenary like its many creations such as Israel:
“The United Nations Is Beyond Reform…It Has to Be Reinvented”–Fmr. UN General Assembly President Miguel d’Escoto:

      Miguel d’Escoto comes @ minute 30+

    • The Rahnameh  December 4, 2012 at 6:51 pm

Nope. The UN is where the ICC is and we have criminals to hang.

      *cough* red flag *cough*

    • LC  December 4, 2012 at 9:38 pm

ICC is in The Hague & has nothing to do with the UN (a terrorist Rothschild mercenary outfit, like Blackwater, or like the British East India Company):

    • The Rahnameh  December 4, 2012 at 10:02 pm

Oh so you mean the primary judicial organ of the United Nations is not part of the United Nations?

Down is up, you say? UP IS DOWN!!! GAD ZOOKS, WINSTON!

    • LC  December 4, 2012 at 10:51 pm

Here is the definition of ICC which includes this sentence:

“The ICC is an independent international organisation, and is not part of the United Nations system.”

    • The Rahnameh  December 4, 2012 at 11:26 pm

While the International Criminal Court (ICC) is an “independent” international organization, it was established at a United Nations (UN) conference and the two organizations share common goals of preventing and responding to mass atrocities. The UN cannot operate judicially, therefore, without the ICC.

The Rome Statute (please Google) also includes two provisions that tell the judges how to deal with two possible types of action by the UN Security Council:

1- the referral of situations to the ICC Prosecutor – as Israel has mysteriously not done to ICC signatory Iran despite all of its claims (read: they were fraudulent and politicized) – and,

2- deferral, a resolution ordering the Court not to act on an investigation or prosecution for a renewable period of 12 months.

The strength of the ICC-UN relationship has been challenged at times, especially by the United States during the Bush administration. And now by you.

At its behest, the deferral provision of the Rome Statute was invoked several times by the Security Council in peacekeeping resolutions in order to shield Americans from the ICC. Also during this administration, US officials sought to weaken the standing of the ICC at the UN by insisting that references to the Court be removed from UN reports and resolutions.

The formal basis for their relations is a Negotiated Relationship Agreement between the ICC and the UN, concluded on October 4, 2004. This agreement establishes a framework for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two entities, including collaboration in the field. In addition, the ICC is invited to report annually to the UN General Assembly.

So, the ICC is not as independent as you deem, its strength relies in the UN relationship, and no, you shouldn’t be discrediting the UN at this point unless you are mad with the current trajectory re: Israel.

I think Iran has no nukes at all & the whole sham is to drain wealth into the pockets of a few in charge of the phony nuclear projects.
You can’t process nukes while wearing hospital gowns and gloves (like Iranians do), you need NBC (Nuclear Biological Chemical) overalls. So, my conclusion is they are handling some radiation-free crap, may be sulfur which looks similar to yellow uranium.

Susan Rice & Hillary Clinton make great bed-fellas. Don’t they???

    • The Rahnameh  December 4, 2012 at 11:31 pm

Sure, that’s a good conspiracy HYPOTHESIS. Your thoughts: suspect.

Iran is already a nuclear nation. It has achieved ALL of its stated progress objectives, enjoys the support of a 130 nation bloc instead of the Hockey Puck and Coconut Brigade (h/t Jim Dean). It is the regional hegemon and ready to become friends with America. It has been ready for 10 years now. Google “Grand Bargain Fax Memo”.

Bye-bye, Zionists. No one likes backstabbing liars.

    • LC  December 5, 2012 at 8:39 am

You are clearly on a PAID agenda may be paid by those stealing Iran’s money with phony nuclear “stated progress objectives” (what?).

NBC overall on New York streets due to WTC radiation leaks:
Do you have a single Iran nuclear footage showing wearing any protection??? I haven’t seen one.
You need more bio-poisoning protection when you get near people eating Mexican bean-tacos than the protection worn by Iran nuclear-technicians in their plants supposedly handling uranium & plutonium (while wearing paper masks & hospital gowns)!!!

& what of UN? Or everything originated from it? A criminal Rothschild joint like the UN can only offshoot other criminals joints be it the ICC UNICEF or anything else.

What has ICC accomplished since its inception in 2002 when a decade of systemic genocides & mass-murders began by the Rothschild-Bush cabals who have since murdered millions of innocents??? ICC issued a couple of incitements or convictions while the criminals behind it all roam free on the public’s expense accounts???

Just look at a couple of these things:
(a UN project):This is how they plan to KILL us – Elite Insider George Green:
Read Truman’s statement, the treasonous president who in 1948 sold out the U.S. & the world to $2 million Rothschild bribe ($2 billion today) to recognize Rothschild’s professional terrorist force as a new STATE by Rothschild’s other criminal joint (the UN) set up just a couple of years earlier!!!!
Disarming America: (never mind who posted it):

  4. The Rahnameh  December 4, 2012 at 6:22 am

Lendman, we know who is behind the reduced footprint angle and who is trying to discredit it. Your recent positions are very suspect:

1- “The Palestinian application that allows them to take Israel to the Hague is useless.” Here, you join the ranks of Bibi Netanyahu and scorned Zionists who stated the same with a good degree of futility. If it was meaningless, why did the Whore of Babylon shriek and whirl like an eyeless banshee to ensure that, first, it was eliminated, and, second, undue immunity was granted to Israel?

2- “Susan Rice is not to be trusted.” Here, you join the ranks of John “Hanoi Hilton” McCain (son of “I covered up USS Liberty”, Admiral McCain) and Lindsay “Yes, I’m a Lesbian” Graham.

At the same time, Zionists are upset at the US administration for not doing enough to prevent their imminent demise. That is more telling than anything you have said in this article.

Who would you suggest for a replacement instead? That is the more important question than your hit piece on the next Secretary of State who will all but ensure the CIA paper stating Israel’s demise comes to fruition.
