If you can, and this is not a task for those who are not willing to put themselves at emotional and perhaps physical risk, please help.
Contact each of the governmental organizations tasked with veterans services in your area, the Department of Veterans Affairs and your local, be it city or county and certainly your state veterans service commissions.
Be prepared to find some corrupt, incompetent or worse.
Find out what you can do.
If you can save one veteran, just one, you have done more for your country than the government in Washington has in a century.

VT ought to put the actual suicide and death statistics on the front page. Ever since Vietnamn people like Donald Rumsfeld decided to massage (lie and distort) war statistics in order to fight the antiwar movement. Those against insane endless wars for industry profit are labeled peaceniks (by putting the word “nik” after the word peace they negate the meme peace, nowadays “newscasters” (paid whores who cast bullshit upon the enemy public) call war protesters peace protesters, lol).
Actual deaths are much higher than reported, the motivation is simple, minimize the war damage and hide it from the public, remove as much legal liability from the defense department, keep the war going, help sell those drones made by the Boeing Corporation.

President Kennedy trieid to avoid all this human misery. He devoted his presidency to negotiating peaceful solutions to any and all differences and disagreements. hhe was smart enough to know it was not just the nuclear weaponry that would harm people but the residual affects of war that destroys our youth.
Hate him or not, this world would be different if he would’ve lived. But he did not. This is the result of his assassination, for this is what the new world odor wanted, and got. This is the world that takes men minds and annihilates their very existence.
Our veterans deserve more than we give them in health, education and general welfare. We give so much to foreign countries and we need to cease all foreign aid until our own people are taken care of. Countries who hate everything about us but our money need to be severed and allowed their independence.
The killing of Kennedy opened the door for this cold and callous mentality of leadership we support today. Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama-3 of 4 all who have no military or questionable military service, have abandoned the veterans, after using them to their own benefit in their personal lives. All have had many opportunities to do something for our veterans, only to fail to step up and perform.
Divorces, debt, foreclosures, depressions, PTSD, and now suicides? We actually stake claim to being one nation under God, and yet we let our heroes who have been told so many times they are being sent to protect our freedoms,and country from terrorists, are realizing they been used in a most macabre game. As they are taking their own lives, we are allowing the suicide of our nation. Excellent article. Thank you.

I applaud your energy in directing this whole Military Complex issue as more a curse on our society than a blessing but don’t confuse the central goal of applying the pound of cure where there was no prevention. I in listed at 24 years old, knowing it was an attempt to rectify an inability to complete college. Luckily I knew better than to accept the brainwashing the recruiters are so good at and didn’t pretend their was a rainbow at the end of my service. I doubt very many vets leave the military and land great job, but many believe that before, during and after their service. The disappointment of not leading an independent life must be crushing enough without the mental abuse the fighting vet had to endure. To the point; until opportunities are available for the average joe, their will always be the service, and may God keep them sane. For those who have lost it, we can only hope they can go to a place where they can get it back, and its not the pill doctor either.

I might also add, Under the No Child left behind Act (The Recruitment) program of Bush’s Wars that if a School didn’t participate they lost all federal funding. Now…. Look at the declining education of the American Youth and were our level’s sit in the world and you see the PLOT.
Yes War is Stupid and Yes none of these had anything to do with US “National Security”. But is is AMERICAN’S that consume 25% of the worlds Resources out of nearly 7 Billion a small number of 300,000,000 rape and pillage out countries. You would not believe how many young boys I know/knew that were basically forced into the Military because of no employment and School’s that LOOSE their federal funding if they won’t allow the “No Child Left Behind” into their school’s. a Back door enlistment program.
This where these young boys are pulled from school under the promise of a paid education for their enlistment where after they have been conned into joining their recruitment officer LIED to them and they go right from school to camp and the battlefield.
Then after being blown apart or made to kill over a million in Iraq over a LIE they are glued to SSRI’s to combat depression. It is now US policy to kill all military aged males and now…. Children too. You can research the many cases of these young boys who refused to murder Iraqi boys of the same age.
What is the real cause of this is clearly represented by Henry Kissinger when he said of our fighting forces conned into proxy wars for Israel. “Military men are dumb stupid animals to be used as PAWNS in foreign policy.” This is how a head of state thought of the “Few the Brave and Proud”. Is it no wonder that a US President sends our Children into harms way and does ZERO for them when or after they gave it their all.
A Soldier is prosecuted for abandoning his position, like wise the US government (Commander in Chief) should face the same charges. I mean really, to think a US President who supports the very Al Qaeda in Syria that the whole war on terror was all about in the first place. This is tantamount to treason you Fools keep re-electing these Idiots.
I am 100% against all wars (Unless it deals with wiping Israel off the map) But I still support those who took their time out of their lives to serve and or die for other that haven’t. Perhaps many in Congress should be asked to send their son’s before allowing wars.

Given any set of data points, a person makes the best decision that s/he can.
I appreciate your constant urging that we all tell the truth as we understand it. That is a positive action.
Healing the soul is where is at, and not just for veterans of war. See Allan Roland’s articles here for practical application for example. Getting to the truth of the matter is an important step towards healing the scars.

How hard is it to locate one or two of these people and pitch over a few bucks a month, or have a few phone conversations or meetups to make sure they’re doing ok. Not hard. I’m already stretched doing enough for five people to stop some of the bs that’s happening, but this should be something prioritized also. A lot of vets didn’t know of the lies, or what they were in for. This is a travesty as trillions flow to war profiteers yet these vets don’t have what they need. Suggestion, could you put up a group or two you trust who help link people up with vets who may need it. Thanks for the reminder article.
