A political commentator says “insiders” mislead the US government to make crucial decisions based on false information they receive from terror suspects under harsh tactics.

Speaking to Press TV on Thursday, Jim W. Dean, managing editor of Veterans Today from Atlanta, said the CIA uses very skillful interrogators who lead suspects into telling them what they want to hear.

“It has tremendous potential for abuse because if you get somebody like the Dick Cheney crowd looking for some kind of a justification for launching an attack or about an incoming threat, they can put out the word that they need confirmation on this or that and that they need to have the interrogators bring in people to confirm things,” Dean said.

“Here is why torture is a horrible problem, because corrupt interrogators can lead prisoners while they are interrogating them, telling them what they really want them to tell them and they will stop torturing them,” he continued.

“And then what will happen is that someone would submit a false report like the Israelis, and then US intelligence… will end up torturing two people to confirm it, and then the government actually gets hustled in doing something based on a completely false report,” he explained.

“And this actually makes it a threat to the national security, because corrupt insiders inside the government can rig events, like they had done for the Iraq war,… to initiate a war,” the journalist noted. Dean said this is “one of the biggest threats that we face and they are always done by insider people.”

The US Senate Intelligence Committee released a report last week detailing torture techniques used by the Central Intelligence Agency during the presidency of George W. Bush.

The report confirmed that the CIA used extreme methods such as waterboarding, sleep deprivation, mock executions and threats that the relatives of the prisoners would be sexually abused. An analysis of the report by the Nation Magazine showed that human experimentation was a “core feature” of the spy agency’s torture program.

Thank You, Mr. Dean, for yet another superb article. I deeply appreciate your efforts.
I am thinking about a topic for another article that veteransToday might wish to consider………..given my extensive training in mental health, I think it would be a superb service to all the readers if your group could produce a state of the art discussion of the inner psychological workings of the minds of the sadists who become involved in torture, who condone it, and the mental workings of the public as they are manipulated into believing what ever the guilty torture parties need the public to believe. A full picture of the psychology of all parties involved in torture is something the American public MUST UNDERSTAND. I am appalled that the recent public survey showed such high levels of support for torture among the American citizenry. I believe that the American citizenry MUST BE CONFRONTED with the manner in which they have been manipulated, as well as what their support for torture actually says about how unhealthy the psyche of the American public has become. Unless the American public confronts their own sick response to the information about torture we, as a nation, will continue to justify all manner of aberrant behavior.
Perhaps the article could include a thorough discussion of the psychology of the planners and perpetrators of 9/11, as well as the psychology of the public in the aftermath of the 9/11 Israeli/US govt.-sponsored attack upon America.

Perhaps you could also address the long-standing history of torture perpetrated by the USA, especially the torture perpetrated on Germany by Eisenhower, AFTER WW2 ended. How many people have any clue about the huge numbers that he murdered via his atrocious behavior after the war? I certainly had never known about that until veteransToday exposed that information.
I have no doubt that there is much other information about the sadism of America, beginning with the first settlers here.
If the pot wants to call the kettle black, well then, let us take a good look under the lid which keeps the putrid reality hidden in the pot.
      IT…….IS……TIME.

    Mr. Dean,

MARRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR YOU & YOUR FAMILY!

“A political commentator says “insiders” mislead the US government to make crucial decisions based on false information…”

 That is what happens, when we have Zionists Termites at every crack of the building in USA Government.
 The Zionists started admitting what we have been saying for years Israel “The Evil Apartheid Empire.”
 “I don’t think the Bible says anything about democracy, the Zionist Las Vegas Mafia “Sheldon Adelson said. “[God] didn’t talk about Israel remaining as a Democratic State… Israel isn’t going to be a Democratic State — so what?”

Here’s the rub. Slowly over the last 13 years terrorists have be redefined to include U.S. citizens, Constitutionalists, Catholics, Sovereign citizens, etc. And NOW we have David Cameron stating publicly that truth seekers Truthers = Terrorists. What does that tell you?

Soon to include anyone and everyone. The Israeli’s pushed for this and it’s intended for us, not some far away cave dwellers, Arabs, Muslims,…it’s for the complete takeover of America similar to what they did to Russia after 1917. The neocons are a cruel and bloodthirsty bunch. If you don’t think so, just think about what the Federal Reserve has ruthlessly extracted from the labor’s of hard working Americans, the $Trillions stolen from us in 2008.

They have NO qualms about extracting their “Pound of Flesh”.

In an interview with Kevin Barrett (also VTN writer) Nick Kollerstrom said, that Sturmbannfuehrer Rudolf Hess was tortured for t h r e e days, before he admitted, that there was massmurder in Auschwitz…..

Have they not learned from history that with torture they get false information.
Some sick human beings who want to be involved in these type of practices.
But unfortunately there are plenty of these type of sick people.
You wonder is it right now still going on in Quantanamo?
What a nice thought for Christmas, my gosh.

Way I figure it Mr. Dean is I got nothing against the guys that did use torture back in the day. I think its petty to want people prosecuted for what they did in the heat of battle right after 9/11(of course i am not talking about the perpetrators such as Cheney who should be hung on prime time TV). I bought into the whole 9/11 thing myself at first. I was walking into 7/11’s and helping myself to coffee daring the Arab attendants to say something to me. I’m thankful none of them ever did or I would probably still be in jail. But now with the fog of war lifted, as you say, its a worthless technique for obtaining information. Its more likely to turn up false information than real intelligence. You don’t have to torture me. I been there and done that and I ain’t going through it again. Buy me a pack of cigarettes in the commissary and I’ll tell you whatever you want to hear. And I’m not going to tell you the truth, specially if I think you don’t want to hear the truth.

Besides with what they know about mind control techniques I’m sure torturing someone to obtain information from them became obsolete right around the time Anthony Burgess wrote A Clockwork Orange. Its all nothing but theatrics performed for the benefit of naive politicians and pentagon generals who would soil their pants if they ever saw a shot fired in anger.

    • Allesandro  December 22, 2014 at 11:26 pm

You figure wrong because there was NO fog of war, those guys are the ones that helped plan and execute 9/11, so they knew the whole story, that they themselves did it, so why torture anyone else, except to find someone else to pin it on. To link Iraq (Israeli’s enemy) to 9/11, that resulted in the death of over 1 million innocent people including our troops, and the shear destruction of Iraq’s infrastructure. You are being way to forgiving, and eventually the new torture rules will include you.

That makes the whole process even MORE Evil.

The reason for torture is (state) terrorism – get in line with what we want to do, because we will torture those who oppose us.

As for 9-11-2001, my internal alarm bell went off at the first tower collapse – why is there this debris cloud obscuring everything when it should have been a toppling/buckling failure at the point the (alleged) aircraft hit the tower, with minimal disintegration of the structure?

  8. Grampah  December 22, 2014 at 11:22 am

Exactly. The physical aspect throws the false image of any “progress” of our “modern culture” into the trash heap of history. Those in very high places clearly involved by bragging about it roam free, getting paid, instead of waiting in jail for their trial.

Outstanding article which emphasizes just how much damage can be done by USG entities that abuse their positions of power and generate false-narratives and war=-propaganda to mislead the American People and take America into completely illegal, Unconstitutional, unprovoked, undeclared wars for acquisition for the large Int’l Defense Contractors and Big Oil. When the suppositions are concocted and notably false, all actions taken subsequent to them will always be grossly dysfunctional.
