Early reports said the ISIL terrorists have sustained a heavy death toll in the Russian airstrikes on their positions in the surrounding areas of Palmyra in the Central Homs province.
Damage assessment reports said the militant sites’ infrastructure suffered heavy damage in the air raids.
On Friday, the Syrian army thwarted large-scale attacks by the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Palmyra.

The Syrian army reportedly killed and injured scores of terrorists.
Reports said on November 24 that the Syrian Army, National Defense Forces and Hezbollah have advanced against the ISIL militants near al-Hayyal and have deployed their units in the Southern side of Palmyra, adding that pro-government forces were readying to launch the final attack on the city from three directions.
In addition to their advance at Al-Hayyal, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies captured more territory along the Homs-Deir Ezzur Highway that leads to Palmyra’s Western side; this paved the way for them to push towards the Qatari Royal Family’s villa that is now used by the ISIL as a training base for their new recruits.
With their recent success on the Southern and Western flanks of Palmyra, the Syrian Armed Forces are now in a position to attack this ancient desert city from three different sides, while the Russian Air Force strikes the Palmyra Military Airport and the road leading to the East district.
Syrian Authorities Seize Turkish Truck Loaded with Weapons
Informed sources said the truck was carrying hand grenades and 7,250 rifle and machinegun bullets.
The truck was en route to Hama Province, the sources added.
On Monday,the terrorists suffered heavy losses as the Syrian army targeted a long column of their trucks loaded with ammunition and military equipment on a supply route from Turkey to Idlib in Northwestern Syria.
Field sources in Idlib province said the army destroyed a long convoy of truck loaded with ammunition, weapons and military tools and equipment on a road that is used by the al-Nusra Front and other terrorist groups that operate under the umbrella of Jaish al-Fateh to supply weapons from Turkey through Bab al-Salem border crossing.
The convoy was moving towards al-Dana city, 36 km North of Idlib city.

Abu Hamza al-Qolami, Abu Turab al-Maqrabi, Abu Jafar al-A’lami and Abu Dajanah al-Maqrabi and several others were killed in the battles, the ISIL said.
The terrorist group did not mention who or where its members were killed.
