WASHINGTON — Michael Missal told lawmakers that, if he becomes the next VA Inspector General, one of his goals will be to work “to promote an improved environment” for whistleblowers.
“I will also take the necessary steps to ensure that whistleblowers are fully aware of their right to be free from reprisal for making protected disclosures and how to seek redress from appropriate authorities if reprisal occurs,” the attorney explained.
Missal made his comments at a hearing before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, which last month approved his nomination for VA IG.
