Your Radiation this Week No 53

April 16 to April 23, 2016

(San Francisco) April 23, 2016 – Good Day, this is “Your Radiation This Week.” These are the Top Recorded Radiation Highs that affected people for the last week around the United States.

RADIATION CPM* CITY STATE

Coyotes and Cactus in American Eagletail Desert

Listed in Counts per Minute, a Count is One Radioactive Decay Registered by the Instrument.

The Top Reporting Radioactive Cities are listed. The highest radiation reporting city is listed first, the least radioactive city reporting is listed last. Still, all reporting cities are above normal. These are the top portion of the American cities that exceeded 1,000 CPM this week.

Normal Radiation is 5 to 20 CPM [4]

The Count

Colorado Springs, Colorado is in First place in the countdown to the end of time. Other cities have the radioactive “contagion,” just not as severe,  even though the listed cities all exceed 1000 CPM.

Changes

Some 24/7 Rad measuring units are flaking out or are removed from service for various reasons, including political reasons. I encourage the EPA to return them to service. Hundreds have now suffered this fate of oblivion. “MIA 18MthHigh” is a new category under the column labeled Type of Rad. It means “Missing in Action – 18 Month High.” I salute the brave scientists, physicists, techs and support personnel who continue to bring us the latest radiation numbers. Your work is valued and appreciated.

Rad Contagion in the States

Miami, Florida joins Los Angeles, California, St. Louis, Missouri and Billings, Montana as the recent victims of truly spectacular Radiation Counts per Minute (CPM) on EPA Geiger counters and radiation measurement systems. The nation destroying strength of Big Time Rads cannot be denied; but, the Rads can be ignored till it is too late. You can run; but you cannot hide, the Rads always win.

The number of Cities over 1,000 CPM DOUBLED in this edition of YRTW: from 15 Cities to 30 Cities. There is no way to recover from these kinds of exposures. There is no medicine and there is no cure. Millions now possess a shortened life span due to their radiation exposures. What city or country will be next?

Have a wonderful radioactive weekend and remember to Dodge the Rads, it’s dangerous out there.

I would have to go with the NRC Bob, but our twisted government is regulating the flow of information not safety. Guessing they never intended it any other way?

hmm, good call, Altimometer, and they All work for Obama. So all of the cities reports pushed the national nuclear policy holding all nuclear is good and wandered into a nuclear no man’s land. What we have to look forward to is continuous epa monitoring of RadNet leading to smack downs of cities that exceed CPM policy limits. Wonder what city will be next?

Wow that’s fast. Do you think they got a memo from government types or a Rad number that is too hot to handle? Or perhaps in the other order.

    • Bob Nichols  April 23, 2016 at 7:17 pm

What we do know, Altimometer, is that in the most recent occasions in the cases of Billings, Amarillo, Los Angeles, and Miami the numbers went through the roof for unprotected civilians and then, magically they weren’t. Those are the facts. Now, who has the authority to order all those changes spread across the country, Altimometer?

Hi Bob looks like Miami’s Rad counter got a little shaken. How long does it take for the Beta and Gamma radiation to pass through our skin, thanks.

    • Bob Nichols  April 23, 2016 at 2:06 pm

      Hi Altimometer,

Yea, looks like the researchers at the Univ of Miami got a little action. Somehow, not what they expected, I think. I suspect the last shoe has not dropped.

Hmm, depends on whether the Beta and Gamma radiation starts the trip from – inside or outside the victim’s body. After that, it moves at a high fraction of the speed of light.

      Bob
