ISIL terrorists attack Iranian Parliament in Tehran

[Editor’s note: ISIL carrying out not one out two brazen attacks on the Iranian capital is a disturbing new development in the conflict that has engulfed Syria and Iraq. Could these attacks signal the start of a new campaign inside Iran? Serious concerns must have been raised about the presence of ISIL in Iran, something that we had not previously suspected. Ian]

Five Killed, 25 More Wounded in Armed Attack on Iranian Parliament

Four unknown male assailants fired several rounds at the guards protecting the parliament building in Tehran, killing five and wounding 25 others in the hallway on Wednesday morning.
According to initial reports, the assailants opened their way into the parliament building while shooting at the guards, killing at least two IRGC guards and three others, and wounding 25 civilians.

Four of the victims were killed on the scene of the attack, while a fifth one succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.

Ten of the wounded victims were civilians who had come from different constituencies to visit their deputies.

One of the male assailants escaped the building, but a ranking member of the parliament told FNA that he was captured as he was on the run.

Senior member of the parliament’s Presiding Board Akbar Ranjbarzadeh said that the assailants were arrested at the parliament’s hallway, while later reports said exchange of fire still continues.

Meantime, Elyas Hazrati, a senior MP, said that three assailants attacked the parliament, carrying 2 Kalashnikov rifles and a handgun.

Contradictory reports are coming from the parliament as one of the deputies said the assailants were four and have been trapped in the offices of the deputies.

“Clashes still continue at the parliament building,” he said.

A number of legislators said that two parliament guards who had been wounded by the assailants were martyred.

Reporters outside the parliament said that the guards are dispersing people but the sound of shooting is still heard from inside the parliament’s building.

Meantime, several assailants raided the holy shrine of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, South of the capital Tehran on Wednesday morning, killing at least two and wounding ten people in a bomb attack and a shooting spree.

Several Arab media outlets claimed that ISIL has been in charge of the attacks, but removed the news report from their websites after half an hour.

ISIL’s official website, Amaq, issued a statement at 09:00 GMT claiming the responsibility for the attacks.

Police special forces, NOPO, have deployed at the parliament building. The special forces have cordoned off the area.

Shooting Spree, Bomb Blast at Imam Khomeini Shrine, One Killed, Several Wounded

Several assailants raided the holy shrine of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, South of the capital Tehran on Wednesday morning, killing at least two and wounding ten others in a bomb attack and a shooting spree.
FNA reports said four unidentified armed assailants started a shooting spree at Imam Khomeini’s shrine this morning.

Three of the assailants shot tens of rounds at the people visiting the shrine, while the fourth one detonated herself in a suicide attack in front of a police station opposite the shrine.

Fresh dispatches by FNA from Southern Tehran said the suicide attacker was a female.

At least two, including one worker, have been killed in the bomb blast and the crossfire between the security forces and the terrorists.

The law enforcement and guards at the shrine said they have also defused another suicide vest at the scene.

Meantime, people at an underground station near the shrine said they heard the sound of the blast.

Reports at 07:10 GMT said that one of the assailants who carried 6 grenades and a suicide vest has been killed in the clashes, a second one has committed suicide after swallowing a cyanide capsule, and the third one was a female and captured after clashes with the law enforcement troops.

The attack took place along with a similar incident at the parliament building.

Several Arab media outlets claimed that ISIL has been in charge of the attacks, but removed the news report from their websites after half an hour.

ISIL’s official website, Amaq, issued a statement at 09:00 GMT claiming the responsibility.

This latest “terrorist” attack, like most of the others, was a military attack on civilians, deep behind enemy lines. It makes little difference that the soldiers who carried out this attack did so out of uniform — they were trained, highly experienced operators using military weapons and tactics with sufficient discipline to carry out a mission from which they were guaranteed never to return. They were elite special operations soldiers.

The attack was claimed by Daesh, which we all know is a unit of the American military, that operates out of uniform and uses Islamic symbols as part of its cover. All American soldiers do not look like Sargeant York — some of them are of Arab descent and are trained in places like Israel or Jordan or Afghanistan wherever suits.

At the end of the day, soldiers in the employ of America or one of its overseas possessions are “American Soldiers”, just as surely as if they were in uniform, and that is how they should be referred to — not “extremists”, “terrorists”, “Islamists”, “opposition forces”, or anything else, but “American Soldiers” or “American-led coalition soldiers” or “allied soldiers”.

Anything like this has the reek of Mossad/ Saudi and MI 6 behind it. Wwouldn’t surprise me if the CIA was in on it too. Definitely israel/ saudi.

I remain by the notion (whether it is happening in London or in Tehran) (as taught on VT) that there is nothing official about ISIL, neither claims nor websites, only Mossad and SITE propaganda and NATO and IDF military advisers, trainers and networks. And of course distorting Islam and recruiting deluded and very poor out-of-touch-with-faith high on testosterone Muslim Arabs from all over the world. I believe this attack has to do with Iran asking the local countries to restrain from sudden demonizing of Qatar, which is kind of what Russia did with Turkey and got their towns and ambassadors attacked. Of course Kuwaitis did the same but did not receive a visit from “ISIL” or whatever that is.
