The Veterans Administration issued an ‘Interim Rule’ in the procurement priority of Service Disabled Veterans Owned Business (SDVOSB), placing them behind the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) and Ability One in small business set-asides.
The sole purpose and responsibility of the VA is to assist our nation’s veterans. I believe the law is clear that the VA is required to give priority consideration to qualified Veteran Owned and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses for contacting opportunities in the VA.
As part of its “Plan to End Veteran Homelessness,” the Veterans Administra-tion (VA) estimates there is a critical need for about 90,000 units of perma-nent housing for homeless and low-income veterans.

Amidst the discoveries of fraud in the government procurement program for disabled vets, we ask ourselves…why? Why do companies lie about their qualifications to gain government contracts? When there are no penalties for defrauding the American public, it makes sense to pretend your company deserves the SDVOB set-asides.
