Hundreds of thousands of servicemen were exposed to asbestos over decades, especially during the period from 1940 to 1980.  Asbestos was used in construction of naval vessels as well as shore facilities.  All branches of the military used asbestos, which was also widely used in civilian applications.  Asbestos can cause mesothelioma.  Because this cancer has a particularly long latency period, many servicemen who were exposed years ago are now developing this disease.

by Gordon Gates

Schneider National, the leading provider of premium truckload and intermodal services, is actively hiring U.S. Veterans right now.

As North America's largest private truckload carrier, Schneider National moves freight and creates innovative transportation solutions that are designed to solve customers' transportation needs. This is accomplished through access to capacity from a large fleet of assets as well as partner carriers, the broadest portfolio of services in the industry, and leading technology.  They offer jobs and careers in driving, maintenance, office and warehouse.

At Schneider National, pride has many colors. Though they are known for their orange trucks, they are also proud to support the red, white and blue. Schneider National is one of the nation’s largest employers of military personnel.  They believe that the men and women who give so freely of themselves to support our country deserve the unwavering respect and support of their employers.

Schneider National recognizes that it takes a special kind of person to commit their life to serving others. The same principles that the military values — safety, integrity, excellence and respect — are consistent with the skills that they value above all else, making Schneider an attractive choice for America’s veterans.
